I’ve been a member here for about 1.5 years and I really love this studio. I mainly take Yoga Bootcamp with Jane because her energy is so upbeat and genuine, and Meghan’s Sunday evening candlelight yoga is basically therapy — it’s become my ritual to close out the weekend. (As well as a lot of other students’ rituals so it almost always sells out! Book early!)
I’ve also taken some of the power vinyasa classes with Rose and she does really fun and creative sequencing.
I’ve tried Trilogy, Pilates, and Barre too and they wiped me out lol. Those seem to be higher-intensity classes than Bootcamp in my experience. (Or maybe I just take a lot of breaks in Bootcamp 😆)
Katy, the owner, is great too. She’s created a really accessible, down-to-earth vibe at this studio and I’m really happy to support this business.
I think there’s a variety of classes for most ages and abilities here. The demo probably skews a little younger in the high-intensity classes (20s-30s) and a little older in the lower intensity classes, and I like that there’s a mix.
Highly recommend this studio!

Granted I only took one ClassPass class there, but I walked out of the class. The space basically is fine and clean. But the class sequencing was unsafe. An older gentleman collapsed during the middle of the yoga class. I remember thinking that the sequencing was unsafe and did not provide enough time for the hips to open up, and was hard on the knees as well. When the gentleman fell down and was on the floor, it took him some time to get back up. The teacher saw this and didn’t do anything. In a typical yoga community I not only expect safe sequencing, but that the teacher to stop, recognize the situation with the entire class, and immediately address care and concern for the injured student whether it was a muscle injury, balance concern, or dehydration.
Super inhumane response. The teacher simply kept teaching and ignoring the situation. For context this is a small physical space and the man was only three people away from her. I wanted to say something and treat the person who fell but the teacher created in the whole room a dull, desensitized energy. I couldn’t stomach it and walked out.
I was shocked.
There are three yoga studios in Berkeley that I support and this isn’t one of them. Even Corepower is better.

Vita is hands down the best studio that I have been to in the East Bay. The studio itself is bright, clean and beautiful. The instructors are very kind and qualified and the owner, Katy, is absolutely amazing. I also enjoy the community culture aspect of this studio. It’s very welcoming and I have felt comfortable and supported as I am acclimating back to strength training. 10/10 recommend

literally got here before a 2nd women we both had appointments at 1pm I finished intake first yet they took 2nd women so it dont really matter when arrive as they don't go in order of who finishes paperwork and waits patiently rather than bombarding the front way to reward bad behavior/ habits etc when people have appointment at same time. we live in world were patience and good manners etc aren't rewarded but actually discourage to use manners etc when situation like this occurs. irony my taxes took about 20 mins to enter while 2nd lady is taking over an hour. been 1hour and 15mins. I could of been done and things checked and printed if they actually took the 1st person as should of. yay for lack of efficiency lol

LOVE Vita!! It's literally the only place I've found in the area with both great workout classes and affordable childcare. The teachers lead with kindness and encouragement and my toddler loves playing with the childcare providers. Cannot recommend enough!

Small, clean, and bright Pilates and Barre studio. I’ve loved all the instructors here and I find their classes challenging but approachable / modifiable for any level.

Vita is great! The owner, Katy, is super nice and friendly and always coming up with different activities and classes to help this place stand out in a unique/welcoming way. The teachers are also super knowledgeable and the atmosphere is super pleasant. Even though I no longer live in Oakland, I wanted to leave a review because I miss this spot! :)

LOVE this studio, locally and women owned. Class can be tough sometimes so check the schedule, but always great. They sometimes have a babysitter available which is sweet.

The yoga bootcamp here was a super fun workout, and there's childcare on site during some of the classes. To make sure there's a childcare slot, book in advance :)

Can't believe Vita only has one Google review. Vita is a lovely studio which feels like a community you become quickly part of. The classes are top notch, as is their childcare each weekday morning at 9.30am. Both my kids loved to go there. Thanks Vita!
