Vital Athletics is a small group, class based strength training gym focused on helping you build lasting results. This gym SUCKS if you want to coast through your workouts and don’t really have your mind set to reach your goals.

On the other hand, if you are ready to work hard and truly want to achieve your health and fitness goals then, in that case, this is where you NEED to be.

Joe not only knows what he’s doing, he knows what YOU need to do to make progress and he’s going to help you do that.

I’m a 48 year old mom of 3 who always thought of herself as « athletic » but hadn’t been « fit » for years. I wanted to get back to feeling like me so that I could continue to do the things I love for years to come.

In the year I’ve been working out with Joe and his team I’ve been there 3 days a week and looked forward to every single session - even when I’m sore as hell. And I’m feeling even better than I thought I would when I started this journey.

You should totally do this.

This is the gym where you actually get stuff done. Joe really knows how to keep you motivated so you can get the most out of your work out. I have learned so much about myself and what my body is actually capable of, I would have never pushed myself this hard and I love my new work out routine at Vital Athletics. The classes are small, and the members are all awesome!
Everyone is there for the same thing and motivate each other. I've been to MANY gyms on Sacramento, this is BY FAR the BEST!

A friend recommended Vital Athletics after he had been attending for about 10 weeks. My wife and I had noticed his progress and decided we wanted to give it a shot. So far we have learned a ton and have enjoyed attending group classes. Joe and Ryan are great at breaking down movement and form in order to maximize the results of the workouts and most importantly to help you avoid injury. When I was going to the gym on my own I would often end up hurt because I really never understood what I was doing or what muscles groups were being activated. I have been at Joe’s gym for about a year. Joe and Ryan are amazing- they are passionate and knowledgeable. They keep a hawks eye on proper form, while being encouraging. Each session is tailored to each person with particular attention given to any potential injury. I had a right shoulder injury which is now pain free with full range of motion. If you want to wake up muscles that you did not know existed, keep motivated and feel better overall this is the place to be!

Joe and Ryan have both been the fitness industry for a long time and know how to tailor a workout to the individual. The classes are group style, but modifications are available for for people like me who are injured and need something that won’t make things worse! It’s a different workout everyday and I feel it every time. The classes are intense, but will leave you wanting to come back for more.

If I could give Joe 10 stars I would! He is hands down the best trainer in town! I have trained with him since 2016 and by far exceeds expectations you may have for a trainer. Each and every class seems to push your limits, get harder and help you achieve your goals. My wife and I are lifetimers for sure! He’s so good I wake up at 4:00 am to attend his 5:00 am class. If you give him a shot you will not be disappointed.
