About the Club

We are a small, one-location fitness studio that has been at this spot for 20 years. We pride ourselves on our small & personable community atmosphere. Our Transformation Wall and 5.0 Rating on Google shows how much effort we put in to deliver high quality fitness programs.

Our primary service is a 45min HIIT class, with 18 different workouts. Each day is a different theme. We do a completely new set up every day so you never come in and do the same thing. We combine elements of strength, core, balance, and cardio into our program. And we offer Challenges and Transformation Support coaching.

We're just off the I-5 in Pacific Beach at 2710 Garnet Ave. It is a small plaza with lots of free parking, and showers on site. Booking is required

Having never been to a circuit class before I felt really nervous coming to my first total body workout class here. When I lived in San Diego I LOVED this gym. The classes were always different and challenging. I workout a decent amount and get bored with most gyms I go to, however this was the one gym I never got bored with. The people (trainers and other class members) are awesome. The music is great. I moved back to New England but whenever I travel to San Diego I make sure to buy day passes to this gym so I can experience those great workouts again. Highly recommend!

Hidden gem in PB - all three trainers are awesome (Bryan, Edgar, and Sean) and mix the workouts up everyday.

I have been exercising and training since the late 90s (not to age myself), and I've worked with 3 personal trainers, tried every new fitness program from lifting, cardio, circuit training, tabata, CrossFit, HIIT workouts, yoga, cardio, and sports. I've tried all the new circuit classes from Revel Fit, Renegade, OTF, F45, and I guarantee that no one will program or kick your a$$ like Bryan at Versatile Fitness!

This is a no-frills, old boxing gym vibe (think OG Rocky) where you come to WORK! Bryan's programming, exercise acumen, and super sets will challenge you, but also be some of the most effective and productive workouts. He has almost every piece of equipment I've seen in a gym from rowers, ropes, barbells, curl bars, pulley systems, sleds, water weights, benches, kettlebells, free weights, Terra core, TRX, bands, discs, and the list goes on.

I have attended about 10 classes and I have yet to repeat a workout. It's insane the quality of training and programming you would get through this gym for the price. Anywhere else, it would cost thousands for this level of programming, so anyone who attends these classes is getting a steal of a deal for this type of workout!

Classes are 45min, with several stations per class. Each day has a target focus such as pull, push, leg, abs, and/or cardio, depending on the day. The target is there, but you are always getting a decent total body workout. Each station has 2-3 exercises that you do 2 sets per station. You have around 3 people per station, and then you rotate. Bryan goes around to demo each exercise as you move stations, and also has the workouts written on a whiteboard at the front of the room. Bryan will also provide quick corrections, as needed. Please note, in large group class settings, rarely will get you get alot of correction or instruction. It's not feasible to have that much personalized focus in these types of classes. Each class starts with a short warm-up, and a quick cooldown at the end.

I have only taken class with Bryan, as he is the staple of this gym. He also has an extensive background with over 20yr of experience and he also offers some nutrition and personalized coaching programs for fat shredding and other fitness goals.

This gym is a hidden gem and morning classes are usually full. I am literally perplexed how the afternoon classes are not exploding with members because I have yet to see anyone have the stellar exercise programming and versatility that Versatile Fitness provides. I've seen so many different trainers and attended many gyms, and Bryan's programming is the most innovative and BRUTAL (in the best way), that I've experienced. If you're looking for a serious SWEAT, a great community, and incredible workouts, VF is the spot!

This is hands down the best gym experience in San Diego. I discovered Versatile while on Class Pass trying multiple workouts, and enjoyed it so much that I got off of Class Pass and became a member here. My obsession with VF HIIT boot camp snuck up on me since I’m usually an alternative/individual sports person. I dabbled a bit to hang out with my best friend who’s been going there since 2017. I was blown away because I was so sore after just one class, and she was going 6 times a week. Those OG VF vets are a dedicated family, and the camaraderie is contagious. And they were so helpful when my gym terminology game was so weak that I barely knew what a “plank” was.

The classes are 45 minutes of bumping music and challenging exercises. The talented trainers lead these fast-paced, creative workout plans while still giving one-on-one help with technique, adding/removing weight, etc.

Special shout-out to Bryan. He is tough as nails and won’t let you slack off or cheat yourself, but he’s also super charismatic and hilarious. And you know class is about to start when the music turns up and his adorable dog Bubba runs back to the office – I call it the DJ booth.

Do the 7-day trial, you won’t regret it! This place will improve your strength, mobility, muscle definition, overall energy, and performance in your other areas of life.

Stumbled upon Versatile Fitness while out in SD a few years back. Every time I've visited since, I've made sure to make a trip to the gym and it never disappoints. This review is overdue as I have relocated from San Diego back to OC, but 5 months post move and exploring numerous fitness studios in Orange County I can confidently say there is nothing comparable to what you get from working out at versatile fitness. During my time at San Diego, about 6 months of 5-6 days a week I spent at this studio training with the owner and head instructor bryan. Despite splitting my spandex during my first class from the intensity I was pushing through the workout, I was hooked. The only issue I had at the facility was something that I learned happens at the majority of studios; which is members mistreating and disrespecting me. But I was there for the workout. Plus the absolute BAANGERS (music was top notch pump it out vibes), bubba (the cutest mascot pup- Bryan’s baby & best friend), and most importantly- the method and technique bryan incorporated into each and every exercise per station, per day. I myself am in the fitness industry and am certified so my knowledge and experience gives credibility to say bryan and his team and how they instruct each workout is the best there is out there. They make the circuits intense, yet doable, creative and never has repeated a workout routine (wild), and incorporates multiple types of movements and muscle groups to achieve peak performance and if done correctly and consistently; you WILL see your body become strong in ways you couldn’t believe, you will realize that you are more capable than you believed, and you will be trained by the best instructors I’ve had the privilege to train with. I’ve been a member at Versatile Fitness since they opened 7 years ago! It’s the perfect combination of strength training, group fitness and a little cardio. Each day is a different part of the body (legs, back/arms, total body, etc). I came in with zero experience, hated weight training and was very intimidated. Fast forward and it’s the only place I’ll exercise. My parents have also come in, along with lots of other family and friends! I have been training at Versatile for several years. During COVID it was almost like losing a limb when I couldn't go in and work out. Bryan who is the owner is one of the most engaging people that I have ever met in the training world. His energy is infectious and he finds a way to always keep the workouts new and challenging. Thankfully Bryan was able to offer At-Home training routines to follow or I may have lost all of what I worked so hard to gain.

Review update: Started going to VF around Feb-Mar 2020 and enjoyed the variety of workouts, coaches, music, and the daily schedule that provides class options throughout the day. The 5:30 AM M-F class is perfect for me. When I workout I'm not much of a talker and appreciate that most other members also workout first and socialize second. During quarentine restrictions the staff made major adjustments setting up their expensive equipment outside ensuring the quality of workouts didn't lessen during these times that we can't workout inside.

After 6ish months of working out with VF crew I don't think I'll be going elsewhere for my workouts. The staff is top-notch and regardless of class size they pay attention to how individuals are doing and provide adjustments as needed.

Bryan, Mike, Chaya, and the rest of the trainers at VF are the real deal. They all have the heart of a teacher and actually care about you achieving your goals. VF is the best gym I’ve ever paid for for numerous reasons.
1.) The trainers are super friendly. They don’t just know their stuff, they make the workouts fun and they put the extra effort into getting to know their customers.
2.) The workouts are insane. After 1 full year of going to VF I’ve transformed my body and sef-esteem. The workouts they design get your heart rate up, and your muscles pumping every time.
3.) The community. People that go to VF know eachother’s names and a lot of us hang out outside of the gym. Good people are attracted to a good gym.
4.) There is no judgement at any time and people of all walks of life go to VF and sweat together. The workouts are a litte intense if you’re very overweight or haven’t worked out in an extended period of time, but if you’re remotely athletic you’ll love the workouts.

Favorite gym!! There’s a sense of community here... the ‘how are yours’ when you walk in and high fives on the way out. The trainers mix up the workouts, hold you accountable and make it fun, even when you’re drenched in sweat. Very helpful too! If I had a sign-up issue or needed an exercise modification - they are super quick to assist! I’ve been getting *noticeably* stronger and more fit because I’ve increased my Versatile classes per week. I definitely recommend incorporating VF into your exercise regimen if you are looking to improve your fitness and overall wellness!

Great place to get in and get some work done! Every day is a new and challenging workout regardless of your fitness level. ALL the trainers are invested in the culture at this place and are more than willing to share their success stories, guide you through workouts, help you supplements or just motivate you to be your best. I started with the Fat Burn Challenge and have stayed on with the gym since. Throughout my life I've had personal trainers and other gyms and this is hands down my favorite. I came to Versatile Fitness at my most out of shape ever as an adult, I really hadn't worked out in 9+ years, and it is so great to simply show up, do what I'm told and get a great workout quickly and efficiently. The workouts can be done at any fitness level and I don't see an end to the challenge.

I hated my postpartum body. But, I loved my baby and focused my entire existence on keeping him alive. I forgot about me. The mom-guilt was strong, but the mom-bod was not cute. I had to do something. I took a leap of faith and signed up for fat shred challenge in Jan 2015. I was terrified until I showed up. I was pleasantly surprised that the workouts were ONLY 45 minutes. What was even more appealing was that every 45 seconds you switch to a new station that was more challenging than the next. I kept telling myself "you can do anything for 45 seconds!" - I got this!

Fast forward three years, I'm 30 lbs lighter and leaner. I have more energy for my very active toddler which is a huge win. The balance that I've found in focusing on ME and setting aside 45 minutes 5 days a week has made me a better mom (i think). Ha.

If you're ready to be a better version of you, check this gym out. You won't regret it. Every single trainer is amazing. Bryan, Mike, Edgar, and Chaya...wow. I can't thank you guys enough for inspiring me in more ways than you know. Thank you for being a gym that i can call home. You're constantly improving which is also what I keep coming back for.

I hate the gym, but I don't hate Versatile Fitness. I reluctantly came with some friends last year and loved it. The work outs go so fast and they are always different. The trainers are excellent and encouraging. My surf paddle strength has greatly increased which has made surfing way more fun. If you live in the PB area I definitely recommend coming here.

Versatile Fitness provides a killer circuit workout. When the 45 minutes is up, I'm out of breath and sweaty. The trainers are motivating and friendly. After they figure out what you can handle, they add or adjust exercises to challenge you more. I got tired of the same routines at the gym and having to plan ahead for different exercises. Coming in and having it set is convenient and makes the 45 minutes all about the exercise, not socializing or waiting for machines. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to switch it up this year!
