Pilates studioAbout the Club
The Vyrtu Pilates creation began as a dream. I aimed to combine the best parts of a healthy, active lifestyle. At the same time, focused on keeping a balanced mindset. Vyrtu, in essence, represents integrity, poise, grace, perseverance, discipline, passion, and purpose.
My early studies were in the field of education, specifically earning a degree in that area of study. I have always been active, health-conscious, and driven by internal forces. Relying on my body, mind, and spirit to accomplish and meet life’s challenges.
While creating Vyrtu Pilates, I thought carefully about how I could help others. I wanted to share my passion for Pilates instruction. My study and practice of Pilates have changed my life and can do the same for you.

I’ve been going to VYRTU since the very beginning and absolutely love it. Rachel is incredibly knowledgeable and truly embodies the heart of Pilates. Her classes are challenging in the best possible way, and I always leave feeling stronger, clearer and just better overall.
The studio itself is intimate and beautiful, and the ocean view definitely helps when you’re powering through a tough sequence.
VYRTU is a true Cardiff gem and I can’t recommend it enough!

You’re not going to get fries with your shakes here. If you want a solid, challenging Pilates work out where the instructor is knowledgeable, passionate and is instructing the class like she is your personal cheerleader, then you need to take a class at VYRTU. I have had two back surgeries and a knee surgery and am very active. VYRTU has made me stronger and more confident in my day to day activities. The instructor offers modifications for clients who may need adjustments during the class which I appreciate.

I’ve had the privilege of being Rachel’s photographer, and through that experience, I’ve seen firsthand how deeply she cares about everything she does. Vyrtu Pilates is truly a reflection of her—thoughtful, inviting, and full of positive energy.
Her attention to detail shows in every corner of the studio. It’s comfortable, beautifully designed, and gives you an immediate sense of calm the moment you step inside. Rachel cuts no corners when it comes to offering the very best for her students.
Her knowledge of health and fitness is incredible, and she’s living proof of what she teaches—she’s in amazing shape and radiates vitality. Most importantly, she’s genuinely passionate about helping people become their healthiest, strongest selves.
Combine her personable charm, expertise, and the professional environment she’s built, and you get something special at Vyrtu Pilates—a place where nothing but good things happen.

I was totally new to Pilates when I started at Vyrtu. And now I’ve taken over 60 classes! Rachel is amazing-she’s super friendly and makes you feel comfortable learning the reformer. The classes are fun, challenging, and I always leave feeling great. Highly recommend!

Today I did my first EVER pilates class. I must say I was a little hesitant because there is a conception that Pilates is typically a female-centric excersize but was happy to find another male in the class alongside of me. The class itself was definately a solid work out, I was sweating like a pig by the end of the class with my t-shirt drenched all the while though I didn't feel like I was really doing anything too strenuous however I have been told that give it a few days and I will be soar in places I never knew I could be soar. Rachel the instructor was great, she helped me with the different manuevers and made sure I was comfortable in the excersizes she had us do. I will for sure be back for another session and truly enjoyed a different type of work out that doesn't invovled an over crowded gym. Thank you Rachel and Vyrtu Pilates! Cardio Crush is a total game-changer! As someone new to the reformer, I initially felt a bit lost, but I quickly realized Rachel’s teaching style is exactly what I needed, and she gives you the space to "feel" the movements yourself, stepping in with instruction at just the right moments, without over-correcting. Rachel is serious about her craft but I wouldn’t take this as unwelcoming, she’s fun too. The no-show fees are a great for me personally to stay accountable, it’s a necessary part of sticking with it bc it’s easy for me to make excuses like tidying up the house, etc. After every session, I never regret going, so much so that my husband always points out how much happier I seem. Obsessed with CC! Thank you Rachel and Team!

I rarely leave negative reviews, especially for local businesses. But my experience here as a new Pilates student left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed.
The studio space is beautifully designed and the assistant Maren (who often joined the classes) was super sweet, kind, and welcoming.
Unfortunately, the energy from the owner and instructor (Rachel) felt cold and dismissive.
There was no greeting and no eye contact. Simply acknowledging another human being is such a small but essential part of creating a welcoming environment...and it was missing here. The owner and instructor also had little patience. It felt like she was visibly annoyed if we didn’t get a move right, which made it hard to feel safe learning something new.
I was also surprised to find out that paying for one month locked me into a six-month contract...something that wasn’t clearly communicated. When I brought it up, the owner responded as if I were trying to back out of an agreement…but I genuinely hadn’t realized I had committed to six months. It left me feeling confused and dismissed. Ultimately I was released from the contract...but it came only after considerable back-and-forth that could have been avoided with clearer communication and mutual respect from the beginning.
This wasn’t just a one-off bad day. I attended around 20 classes between April and July, and unfortunately, the dismissive energy was a consistent part of the experience. Interactions with the owner were not just uncomfortable but draining to deal with as a student.
I also overheard a conversation that seemed judgmental towards ClassPass students so I checked out those reviews. Several people had similar experiences as me, which confirms that this isn't personal, but a pattern. I understand the desire for loyal members, but the way she dismissed ClassPass members doesn't feel aligned with the values of a welcoming community.
I wasn’t expecting special treatment...just basic kindness. but no amount of Pilates can stretch out a bad attitude. I really wanted to like this studio and gave the owner plenty of chances. I kept showing up with an open mind, hoping it would shift. But eventually, I had to choose another space that feels more aligned.
With so many amazing studios, it's not worth staying in an environment that leaves you feeling unwelcome.
I’m only sharing this because I wish someone had warned me. Not every studio will be the right fit but kindness should be the baseline. I truly hope the studio grows, but I also hope future students are met with more clarity, kindness, and care.

I’ve been practicing Pilates for over 10 years and was looking forward to trying Vrytu with a friend who’s new to it. We attended three classes, and while the studio itself is nice and well-equipped, the experience was pretty disappointing — especially since the instructor we had is also the owner.
There was no warm introduction, no walk-through of the equipment or the space, and no guidance offered to my friend, who was brand new to Pilates. Even as an experienced client, I found the classes lacked clear cues or any encouragement. It felt like we were left to figure things out on our own.
The studio may work for people who prefer a very hands-off, self-led style, but I wouldn’t recommend Vrytu to beginners or experienced clients looking for supportive instruction and a welcoming atmosphere. I hope the owner considers how much of a difference a more inclusive and engaged approach could make.

I recently tried out VYRTU Pilates, and I'm so glad this gem has opened up in the neighborhood! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the beautiful decor—it’s modern, welcoming, and instantly gives off positive vibes. The equipment is so nice, and you can tell that a lot of thought went into making this studio a perfect place to practice.
What really stood out to me was the intimate class size. With fewer people in each session, it honestly feels like you have a private instructor, allowing for more personalized attention. The instructor, Rachel, was incredibly attentive, offering adjustments and tips tailored to everyone’s needs. Plus, the music playlist was on point—really setting the mood for the perfect workout.
VYRTU is exactly what the neighborhood has been missing. It's such a great space to not only get a solid Pilates workout but also to feel a sense of community. Highly recommend checking it out!
