We had a birthday party for my 7 year old. It was so easy to do. The team set up games and helped setting up and took care of cleaning up! It was great! My son said it was his favorite birthday and all his friends truly had a blast. Highly recommend

We have had such a wonderful experience at waterworks!! Every swim instructor is kind and patient and knowledgeable. Our favorite is Ava :)! We had her a few times and she does a wonderful job! Both my kids (4 and 2) are now swimming!!

Not the place you want to go for lap swim. The water is way too warm and honestly pretty gross. Lots of hairballs and cloudy water. No lockers for storage, which I could deal with if the water was at least clean.

Update: I was immediately contacted by the company who is taking my complaint very seriously. I feel confident they will rectify the issues and look forward to trying them again and changing my rating to a 5!!

We used to love coming here. Weve been going there for a year now but that changes today. Ive even recommended this place several times to others looking for a place to teach their kids and babies how to swim. My sons last class we paid the extra fees for my other two to swim in the open swim area. We were hounded not once but twice about who we are by the lifeguard and they went inside to question about us. They didnt do that to anyone else. I offered to show him the wristbands i was told to not put on the kids because they fall off. Then he constantly paced around watching us closely like we were about to steal the pool or something at the same time kept leaving to talk to the office staff leaving kids unwatched in the pool. Talk about safety concern and profiling and harassing my mixed race family. They didnt do it to anyone else. We brought it up to the front desk staff who let me know they will talk to the lifeguard and that he did go up there to ask about us. We wernt doing anything wrong. My husband is active duty and im retired military so we arent criminals. We decided to give it another try and today it was just my husband and baby for his class. They went for the class and after went to the free swim area for the allowed 10 minutes of free swim after and before class and my husband was hounded again. No one else was asked but my husband. This feels very unwelcoming not to mention racist since he didnt have a problem with any of the white families. What happened to you all?? Im so disappointed in how your establishment is turning. It used to be great and welcoming and a place where my kids could learn to swim and have fun while bonding.

Valeria is amazing! We currently working with her for the Parent and Me Class. She is a wonderful teacher, my son is super excited to see her every class. She has taught him in both beginner and advanced.

Matt is another awesome teacher as well! He taught my son in the beginner class too. He cheers him on from the sidelines since he has moved out of beginner and intermediate class. The fact that he remembers his name and talks to him every time he sees him in the water even thought my son moved out of his class .

10 out 10 recommend this swim school! They are very caring and kind !

NOT RECOMMENDED. I bought a 4 pack of lessons for my toddler to sample the services. I was running late for a lesson and called ahead. I was told they moved us to the next open slot just 20 min later, and it was no problem. In reality, they ran my lesson as a no-show and charged me for the next lesson. Then, when I called and talked to someone about it, they assured me they fixed it in the system. But, instead, 2 of my 4 lessons were charged against my balance without my approval or scheduling. In short, I paid for 4 lessons and received 2 because I was held up by a car accident creating traffic once. I can't pretend to explain how this made sense to them. They use a third-party scheduler that can not back up coordination or customer service. Do not spend your money here.

worst place to have your kid start learning about swimming, back to back teacher cancellations, she had to change 4-5 (lost the count) teachers in 2 months. she had a big fear in the beginning and these changes only traumatized her to feel less secure and being more scared. we spent 2 months just to make her feel comfortable in the small pool, can you imagine???! just now she stopped crying during the classes and here we go another teacher cancelled on her and no longer teaching her. no heads up and no solutions.. Every week I have to spend time finding a person after cancellation, change our working schedule around these changes accordingly, spending time and energy on call centers and chats through the website. Overall, SUUUUUPEEER disappointed with the experience we had here, but mostly my child had a really bad start for her swimming experience which is the most heart breaking part as a parent.

Took my 4 month old there for 4 months for weekly private lessons with Abigail. He went from crying all the time to being very comfortable in water. We really realized this when we moved and enrolled in a different school and he's top of the class and swimming with 2 year olds. We wish we could've stayed there! Definitely the best swim we've seen and very affordable.

I finally swam laps here this morning and I was not impressed for lap swim. The atmosphere is similar to a preschool or a children’s dentistry. The pool is heated which would be nice for the kids and some people but the pool is very dated and I swam with 3 hair wads floating in the water at 10am today. I do have two kids and I personally would not bring my kids to this place. It’s small and better for infant/baby swim and maybe elderly people.

I usually don’t leave bad reviews but maybe this review will help with the upkeep of the water and the atmosphere of Waterworks. I won’t be going back unless I have to.

Update:

The regional manager reached out to me 10 minutes or less after submitting this review. Waterworks is taking action on my review and I did add 4 stars to my review instead of my original post. I do appreciate them taking action to improve the quality of the pool and atmosphere so quickly.

Thank you!!

My daughter has taken lessons here on and off for years. We've had great instructors and currently have Olivia right now who we love. She's a great motivator while still staying kind which is perfect for my daughter. It's hard to match my daughter with instructors so Olivia is great! They have a shallow pool for kids before and after their lessons which is a highlight. Easy scheduling too and the front dest staff is aways amazing.

We really like Norma as instructor as she is incredibly patient but still manages to motivate our kiddo by gently pushing her to do her best. She communicates clearly with students and parents. Kim is also great as an instructor and both instructors are absolutely lovely and genuinely seem to care about the kids they teach. We like having two different instructors as they have slightly different approaches.
We did not have any bad experiences with scheduling so far and actually made the experience that the school is fairly accommodating.

Terrible experience! I signed up for monthly lessons, private for two children, both private lessons, the lessons were not to the full length of time for one of the children. Come the following week I receive an email saying my daughter's class has been changed by 20 minutes, then the day before class received another text that it's been changed 20 minutes more. So I'm now with a 3:40pm and a 4:20pm class. I thought it was just for one week. Come to find out after calling that this is a permanent change! I'm outta here! Who would allow for such nonsense in their business to occur. I hope their management sees this and makes the correction. I was already warned by some moms about this problem here at Waterworks. So yes it's true they do changed your schedule at any point in time. They don't seek to find a replacement they just drop you altogether. I can't imagine my kids tennis or dance lessons texting me that class is now permanently changed to 40 minutes from now, sorry not sorry. Just terrible!

Richard has helped my son so much in the month he's taken lessons. My son is five and due to Covid and then just life he only began lessons this summer and he started off really uncomfortable in the water. Richard was calm, patient, and firm with his boundaries (my kid LOVES to push boundaries and will walk all over any adult who lets him) and got my son to cooperate from day one. I'm so grateful we signed up with Waterworks this summer and look forward to working with Richard more.

My 6 month old daughter loves coming to swim class. She’s starting to know when she is going to go under the water and she anticipates it by holding her breath and closing her eyes right before her head goes under the water. Richard does a wonderful job with her he is patient, kind and you can tell he loves what he does. He is also very encouraging by praising my daughter when she goes under the water by giving high fives and telling her β€œyay”. She loves it and smiles and laughs.

Good facilities with good instructors, but they are booked back to back so your 20 minute class for your child is closer to 15 and rarely starts on time. Gets frustrating with the cost you pay for a private class. This has been a consistent issue over 20 or so classes.

My daughter has been going to parent and me classes since she was 3 months old and loves it! She is now 7 months old and she gets so excited when we get to the facility and she realizes we have a class. She’s still young so she has a long way to go but she has already advanced from the beginner to intermediate level! We have had Ms. Jennifer the whole 4 months of enrollment and my daughter loves her. Ms. Jennifer has given me confidence in teaching my daughter water safety, she makes the classes fun, and has built a great bond with my baby! Highly recommend it to all my friends and anyone interested in trying them out

It is advisable to steer clear of this business. Are they even capable of managing their operations, staff, and coaches effectively while respecting the time and schedule of their customers? Absolutely not. To make matters worse, I have received multiple notifications in a row informing me that my child's private lesson has been canceled (of course, I chose not to have a substitute instructor in the event of cancellation, and I am glad that I did. Otherwise, we would have been on instructor #4 by now!). This demonstrates abysmal management skills. Additionally, I suggest that this business provide a manicure station for their lifeguard so that they can soak their toes and clean their toenails in a designated SPA area instead of the small children's pool area!!!!

The instructors are hit and miss. Instructor turnover is very high.
The last time they paired our level 1 with a level 8. Ok. And forgot to call her name so we lost 10 minutes out of the 20 minutes lesson.
Today the instructor cancelled 1 hour before the meet. So we decide to cancel the rest of our lessons
Do not recommend.

My son has been been rescheduled with four different instructors. I was really excited to get my son into swimming lessons with this company after all the great reviews. I was told he would have the same instructor. He had 2 lessons with one instructor. Then they canceled the following class because they couldn't find a substitute. Then the next few weeks he was scheduled with another instructor because our original instructor was still out. We ended switching our instructor with him and the following week we were told he no longer worked there. We selected a new instructor that was highly recommended from the staff. They said he had just come back to work for them.
Now we just received another email that my son has been rescheduled with someone else. Very disappointing. My son has had no constancy since he's constantly getting a different instructor. The staff that work the phones and counters are great but every time I feel like the problem is resolved, I get a new email saying my son has been rescheduled with a different instructor

While I like the instructors, two of her instructors have left in the past 8 months we've been going. It sucks when she gets attached to someone and then there's a new person to get to know...

The price is a bit steep, but it's been great at getting our daughter more comfortable in the water. One thing that IS frustrating and one of the instructors kept pressuring us to get individual lessons (a lot more money) - "She'll progress much faster."

Very popular for parents with children learning to swim. The therapists who do water therapy for clients are strong professionals. I learned about this indoor pool facility from one of them.
1. Mgmt very nicely responded to my concern re: dressing rooms being checked and actively addressed midday. Thus, I believe female clients will see improvement re: the hair in the showers, dressing rooms at all areas of dressing rooms.(I wear shoes at all times anyway--but, still...) Lisa, thank you for responding.
2.There needs to be some kind of enforced rule or something in regards to: -do not come to work or client swim, if feeling unwell. The pool is the one place we cannot continue wearing a mask--if everywhere else one masks. But, yes, all employers and businesses now have similar issues. There is only so much one can do.

The pools are well-taken care of. Really strong and well-managed water bodies. Customer service is strong, too. This is a constructive post about other.

REVIEW UPDATE 8/4/22- Yet another amazing instructor that left and we now have to look for someone else my daughter will have to get used to.

..........................
Our daughter has been attending class here for almost a year now and she's enjoyed it alot. Tiffany A. Is an amazing instructor and my daughter absolutely loves her. I'd give 5 stars but we just found out (while attempting to schedule next class) that her instructor is no longer there. Perhaps an email would have been great to notify parents, given that kids tend to take time getting comfortable with someone. I also don't even know if they keep track of what each child is learning so the next person will teach them accordingly. We will try with another instructor I guess and hope to find the right fit.

The absolute worst swimming lessons my grandchildren have attended. Save your money and go elsewhere. Waterworks Aquatics does not stick to a schedule. My daughter has enjoyed learning how to swim with some awesome instructors. However she has not been able to progress due to multiple scheduling issues. She has not had a consistent schedule with one instructor, we've had multiple rescheduled lessons which has hindered her ability to learn because she has to become comfortable with someone new each time. This is definitely a luxury for our family, it was not something we provided to eldest due to cost. We were hoping our youngest would have learned more but, because of scheduling issues time and time again, it isnt working out. We hope this issue can be resolved for future families like ours who can't really afford lessons but do it for the safety of their children. In conclusion, the staff is nice, cool swimsuit dryer, and fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, the schedule needs to be consistent, especially for novice swimmers.

Such an amazing experience for both or children! We have been going to Waterworks Aquatics for about 7-8 months and absolutely love the instructors. Our daughter started out with Matthew R. at about 18 months old and she didn’t like the water that much but Matthew continued to work with her and gain her trust and ours through his love of the water, teaching and children. At two years old, she loves the water, asking to go swimming with Matthew and is completely comfortable floating, swimming under water, jumping in the pool and she is now practicing her free style. My son just turned four and his confidence in the water and ability to swim and float in such a short amount of time amazes me. What is truly wonderful about Matthew is that he will take a parents suggestion on how their child learns and seamlessly adjust his teaching style to really get the child to try their best. I am truly grateful that we found this place and for their amazing instructors!

I brought my four-year old daughter to waterworks as it is recommended by some of my friends. We first tried Ms Christina and she is really nice and my daughter liked her but unfortunately her schedule fills up quickly so we switched to Ms Shianna. She is really encouraging and nice. My daughter advanced rather quickly under her instructions from a girl cries refusing putting her head in the water to comfortably trying new movement every time. The water is warm which is a treat in cool SoCal winter. The rules for makeup classes are a little tricky. You have 7 days to use them up before your package expires so don't plan on using them at the end paid lessons or you might have good chance to lose them. Price is not the prettiest one but consider the overall package and location it's pretty good.

We began classes at Waterworks in August of 2014 when my son was 17 months old. We moved from the Bay area where we were attending a different swim program. I was so excited to have found Waterworks because I felt their program teaches children life saving water skills. The instructors are kind, patient, and professional. Fast forward to now (November 2016), my son is now 3.5 years old and can swim freestyle and backstroke independently. We also have my daughter in Parent & Me Advance swim lessons where she is learning how to roll onto her back independently and then roll to her stomach and kick to the wall. We have been very fortunate with our instructors as well. When we initially started, my son had Teacher Michael, who was fantastic. Then our schedules changed, where we were paired up with Teacher Lyndie. She was a great instructor for both my son and daughter (be prepared though, she has limited availability because she is very good). Then, our schedules changed again with the new fall year, and we now have instructors Alex and Carissa and are so happy with the results we are seeing with both kids. Both teachers have similar styles and are a nice balance to my kids (we go twice per week). They both have been amazing instructors. I highly recommend this program, especially if you want to see results. It is a commitment, but well worth it in my opinion.

My twins have had lessons here for a few months. They already new the basics of swimming, but Freddy introduced several strokes and diving. HE really worked on their form. It was amazing to see my 6 year olds swim like that. My daughter is very shy and she took to Freddy right away. He was great with them!
