Teacher are very impatient I just asked one more question before my time end and the female 20 ish coach just said : I have class. And she repeated twice. First of all I didn’t get what did that mean? Then I realize why she means her time was up. She’s leaving. But yeah, hello you could have told me politely or not politely in your way. Tell me oh I still have next class which will start at sometime then I definitely will understand and say oh thank you for your coaching today, but instead of telling me exactly since she just kept repeating, I have class.. so rude and disrespectful. BTW, that was my first tryout class so don’t need to pay, but according to the female coach’s attitude, either I hit a car with my 🧠 otherwise what on earth do I want to go back to face this kind of irritating and arrogant coach. nobody will go back to let her coach. A young and arrogant coach that looks her student down.

I’ve been taking swim lessons at Waterworks for about 20 sessions now, and the experience has been truly wonderful. As an adult learner, I was initially nervous about getting back into the water, but my confidence and skills have grown tremendously since I started. The overall environment at Waterworks is so positive and encouraging.
I especially want to highlight Coach Genesis. She is patient, motivating, and genuinely passionate about helping her students succeed—no matter their age or skill level. She has this amazing ability to make you feel comfortable while also encouraging you to improve every class. Her calm yet enthusiastic approach makes learning both enjoyable and rewarding.
Thanks to Coach Genesis, I not only feel more confident in the water but also genuinely look forward to every lesson. She has made swimming such a fun and empowering experience for me. I’m so grateful to have her as my coach—highly, highly recommended!❤️

Manny is an outstanding swimming instructor! He got along with the kids very quickly. His instructions are clear, firm, and easy for the kids to follow. He pays close attention to details and gives immediate, constructive feedback that really helps them improve faster. I also appreciate how he keeps the lessons focused—he engages the kids with fun conversation, but doesn’t let side-chats take away from their practice time.

We have been going to waterworks for a couple years now. My daughter loves her teacher ms. Nallely she always looks forward to swimming with her, she never not wants to go to swimming. Ms Nallely really cares about the kids you can tell. Ms.Nallely helped my daughter over come her fear in the big pool now she is level 11 and just recently joined the swim team at waterworks. Thank you to Ms. Nallely for her dedication with my daughter. When Nallely is out my daughter will only swim with prince, princess and lillia as a substitute they are very welcoming teachers, she is sensitive to new faces and they helped her while Nallely was out.❤️

My son, Aiden, has been taking swim lessons here for almost a year, and the progress has been incredible. When we started, he was genuinely afraid of the water, often hesitant to even get his head wet or go under. While his advancement has been steady and unhurried—which is exactly what we wanted due to his initial fear—the results speak for themselves. He has worked with five different instructors during this time, and every single one has been remarkably understanding, patient, and skilled at making him feel safe and comfortable. Now, Aiden confidently jumps into the pool and is learning the backstroke and breaststroke! We are thrilled. The fact that it's an indoor pool is a huge bonus for year-round, consistent swimming. I highly recommend this center for anyone looking for exceptional swim instruction.

We’ve been taking lessons at Waterworks for about 20 sessions now, and the experience has been outstanding. Our child has made incredible progress in the water, gaining both confidence and real swimming skills. One of the things we really appreciate is that Waterworks organizes regular Family Night activities, which makes the place feel welcoming and community-oriented.
I especially want to highlight Coach Manny. He is extremely passionate, energetic, and encouraging in every single lesson. His enthusiasm is contagious—our child truly enjoys every class with him and always looks forward to coming back. It’s clear that he not only teaches the techniques of swimming but also makes the process fun and engaging, which keeps the kids motivated.
Overall, Waterworks has exceeded our expectations, and we feel very grateful to have Coach Manny guiding our child’s journey in the pool. Highly recommended!

My son has been going for waterworks for about a year. Manny was his instructor for a year and he loved the way Manny taught him lessons. He wouldn’t focus too much on techniques initially and then slowly introduce more and more techniques. This really helped my son.

Located in a nice area of Campbell the staff is really nice instructor was very sweet and very gentle with him. I enjoyed that you could have play time before and after his lessons to get extra energy out. My only big complaint is the parking. The spaces look big enough but they actually feel very small ones to try to get the door open and you have very little space to maneuver

They have great customer service and swim instructor. Jonny, is a wonderful swim instructor. He was able to help my son progress in his swimming. He is very patient and is always in a great mood. He looks for his strengths and uses them to help him learn. After each session he debreifs and let's me know the progress he sees and what he will be working on for the next session. Definitely recommend.
SideNote- He works great with non verbal autistic children

We’ve been with Waterworks since 2019, and all three of my kids have had the joy of swimming with Francisco. My two older children are currently in Stroke Clinic, and my youngest son has been taking lessons with Francisco for over a year now.
I honestly can’t recommend him enough. He truly loves kids and has a natural gift for making them feel comfortable in the water. He has such a fun and creative way of explaining things that keeps my kids fully engaged. He’s incredibly sweet and patient, and my youngest trusted him very quickly—even when he first started swimming at just one year old!
Now, my son is completely at ease in the water, which means so much to me. Water safety is absolutely essential in our family because we spend a lot of time at the pool and beach. As a parent, I feel more confident knowing my kids are learning to be safe and confident in the water—thanks to Francisco, who truly cares about them.

I’ve tried multiple private lessons here and unfortunately haven’t learned anything useful. I’m not afraid of water and can already freestyle to some extent — my main issue is learning how to breathe properly while swimming. The lessons are really short (only 20 minutes) and extremely expensive for what you get. They didn’t help me at all, especially considering all the extra time and effort spent just getting to and from the sessions. Very disappointed with the value and results.

We've had an incredible experience at Waterworks Aquatics Swim School and highly recommend it! With three kids, scheduling can be a nightmare, but Ms. Melissa at the front desk has been an absolute lifesaver. She's incredibly accommodating and always goes above and beyond to help with our various scheduling requests and changes. Her patience and willingness to work with us have made a huge difference.
And a huge shout-out to Coach Alec! He has coached all three of our kids, and we've seen remarkable progress. He's fantastic at polishing their strokes and consistently pushes them to reach their full potential. What's even more impressive is how he taught our youngest from absolutely zero to slowly mastering the butterfly stroke – a truly amazing transformation!
The entire team at Waterworks Aquatics creates a positive and effective learning environment. If you're looking for a swim school that truly cares about its students and provides excellent instruction, look no further!

My son is taking swim lessons here since 2020, when he was only 2 years old, after some searching of an indoor swim school. This place offers everything you need for your kid to learn how to swim. My son was participating in swim competitions at 3 years and 10 months, and the ribbon and trophy systems motivate young swimmers. The staff here is great, they are very encouraging and helpful whenever it is needed. Francisco, my son's instructor since the beginning, is very patient, firm, fun, and all kids love him. Also Meleah and Steve, the managers, are very friendly and involved, talking with parents, receiving feedback and sometimes even helping kids with swim lesson advice. We are very happy and grateful that we found this swimming location for our little one.

Most of the staff is wonderful, with amazing teachers like Lillia and Nhate that create a positive learning environment. However, this was not my experience with Anabel. Not only was she rude in front of the students, her 20 min lessons consistently had 5-10 minutes of chatting with the kids. If your kid ONLY needs to change their relationship with the water this might be ideal. Just dont expect much progress in their swimming skills.

Never, ever book birthday parties here. It is not about "having fun"; it is about the lives of kids. The lifeguards are fake - standing and watching a kid almost drown. Needless to say, the whole experience for everyone was ruined. Four lifeguards, tons of staff, and zero reaction from everyone.

We had a very bad first impression ... prepared to attend the first class of my child at the weekend ... but they cancelled the class when we were on the way because the instructor didn't show up!
The second bad impression happened … they just called me and cancelled the recurring class and suggested me an entry level instructor to choose. I wish we had other choice for swimming class for my child. 😡😡😡

The customer service at the Bascom location is amazing. Both on the phone and at their facility in-person, Waterworks Bascom employees go above and beyond to help their students and parents. The manager personally made sure we received a make up class for a mix up I made on scheduling which was incredible. My son didn’t love his first teacher and everyone at the front desk helped me find the best teacher for my son and now my son is thriving and loves swimming. They were very patient with me and all of the schedule changes I had until I found the right teacher. I would recommend this location to anyone!

We have been going to the swim school for the last a year and half, the experience with most of the teachers are quite nice, most of them give feedback after each session and let u know how your kid could improve to level up.
The major concern we had is their scheduling system - if you set up a recurring session with a teacher and for some reasons the teacher is not available for that day (depends on the teachers, some teachers could be not available more often than others) you are left with two options; the first option is to go with a teacher which could be totally new to you and had zero experience on what you are practicing; second is to do make-up classes which is very tricky. The make-up class won't be used towards your regular recurring classes and you have to schedule a stand-alone class to consume it, nevertheless, if you used all of your paid classes, regardless how many make-up classes you have, they will disappear in system after 7 days without any notifications.
In our case, we bought the 32 classes package and towards end of the period we have total of 7 make-up classes, 2 of 7 make-up classes expires because we don't know they would expire in one month, the other 4 make-up class won't show up in the system until we pay for a new package.
Most critically, none of those terms were pre-disclaimed! We didn't sign up for those terms but they do apply. If your family do class package, please be aware of those terms and use those make-up classes wisely. Not sure if this behavior is considered as fraud but just share some experience for others awareness.

Decent facilities. Good teachers. Their cancellation policy is repugnant. If their teacher cancels, somehow it is the student's fault and is punished by being forced to accept another teacher or be stuck in attempts to schedule a make up class. The trust between students and teachers is not as important as making money.

We went here for our daughters lessons for quite some time. But they started kicking parents out of the seats DURING lessons so that they could prep for evening parties. No on site management that appear to be concerned and off site managers put no stop to it. They appear too focused on profit and not enough on customer service for folks that have already paid for lessons. Strong recommendation to look elsewhere for lessons.
ADDENDUM.
I posted this 5 months ago and see that I received an apparently concerned response. After countless more back and forth communications where the problem was supposed to be resolved, it continues. Management oversight is unable to assist with poor on site management. Having now experienced what happens when you attempt to resolve things through appropriate communication with management my STRONG recommendation against dealing with Waterworks in any way has only increased.
Don't do it.

The front desk is unhelpful. The rep doesn’t understand customers needs and only repeats how the system works. The system works for the average cases, but not all of the case. The problem is not resolved due to the rep’s capability. Very disappointing for their service and I probably won’t purchase more lessons with them.
**Updates**
The general manager reached out for resolving the issue of applying make up credit to the recurring schedules. Honestly I think they should remove the make up credit just use unpaid credit to all upcoming lessons to keep it simple, easy and efficient to both sides. More things can be done through the portal is better. The system is still the same, if the teacher cancels the lessons in the future, we will face the same issue. We have to reach out to someone could help to override the system. The review is updated because the management level is good and care customer’s review and willing to work out with customers.

Disappointed! We have been coming here for more than 2 years. We heard good reviews so started coming here. My kid is 6 years old now. I’m not seeing any progress, each week instructors keep doing same thing. I understand it depends on kid. But that is the whole point, kid suppose to progress. Tried different instructors, changed timings, days, tried semi private, private lessons etc. Nothing seems to work. It seems instructors look for very very particular positions. They will not teach new stuff until they are satisfied. I would kid to learn as a life skill. Not sure if paying so much attention on precise hand movement or gesture make sense. Do not want to blame a particular instructor but I’m disappointed with my kid’s progress in many many months. Facility is getting old and outdated, something and something is broken everyday. That’s not my primary concern though. I want my kid to learn.

My previous review had feedback about the billing software as not being sufficient. Since then, Lisa called me and walked me through how to use the billing software. This works for me for now and I look forward to seeing more interactive features/filters on the billing page.
My previous review also had feedback about poor drainage in the new showers (near the kids pool) and poor waiting etiquette for the showers queue (by instructors). Lisa has told me that waterworks is working on bringing change to both of these areas.
Thank you for the prompt reach out and being open to feedback, Waterworks and Lisa!

My child has been going to Waterworks for 8+ months and I have seen great progress with his swimming. His coach Shea Duty is absolutely fabulous! I love Shea's working style. The classes were not very helpful. Their online reservation system is borderline scam. Classes mysteriously disappear. The portal through which you make payments and reserve classes is buggy and confusing - so much so that it almost feels to be deliberately designed that way, so as to obfuscate the recurring disppearance of paid classes. Tried resolving it multiple time with their customer care, and they were clueless too. Overall frutrating experience.

We are going to the Bascom location for 3 years in a row now. Started with parent and me and now doing regular classes. Francisco is our instructor and we love him! My daughter is 4 and she is now doing back swim. The location is only for the pool, not using other gym pools. There are 2 pools, one for children who cannot float by themselves with warmer water and one for children ready to swim. There are showers and changing rooms. There are hair driers but they are not the best, most of the time they do not work because they get overheated. Overall I recommend this place!

I like that there are no toys really involved so teaching can really be the focus. The instructors seem attentive. And although my daughter has only had two classes I don’t like how dirty their bathrooms/changing rooms are and I also don’t like that the instructor will start at times start 1-2 minutes late and end 1-2 minutes early. That makes me feel cheated when I pay so much for these 20 minute classes. All in all, it’s much better than avac.

We started waterworks with our kids when they had no learning experience and always wear life jackets . 4 and 6 years old both took a 20 min semi private lesson once a week. Our favorite teachers ate marianne and monica. They are awesome and very sweet and my goodness are they fast to teach the little one. Now we do 40 min back to back and kids don’t want to leave the pool. Within about 4 months now, they swim alone, they jump in the pool down and up. They do flips and they swim and sleep on the water .
I can’t thank marianne enough she is just amazing. She also always safe and her eyes are on the kids and she is so loving and when kids act up she keeps her patience and keep direct them to be on track

Lessons are fine, but we have had too many lessons cancelled and rescheduling is incredibly difficult. Wish there were more options around us so that we could move on and find a place that didn’t cancel 2 out of every 3 lessons.

I was interested in lap swim. I called to inquire about the facility and if it has a locker/changing room. I spoke with a man who told me no. I was a little confused and learned he is not on site, but at a central call center. Although he was not rude, he was condescending towards me because I wanted to know more about the facility, he kept circling back about registering and booking online. I wish I stayed on the line to leave feedback on him.
I called back a few minutes later. Spoke with a lady, Jess, that informed me that the San Jose/bascom location does have a locker room. She was more polite.
I don’t even know who to believe at this point. I’m hesitant to book after that first interaction with water aquatics.

We have been coming to Waterworks for over 2 years now, and my daughter has enjoyed her every class thoroughly. While we have had a couple of different teachers, my daughter is a big fan of Maya, who has done a terrific job helping her really grow as a swimmer and complete all her levels! My daughter is now joining a competitive team and the feeling is bitter sweet, as we leave waterworks. This is a good place to establish your fundamentals!

It’s a nice place in general I love the facility.
A bit disappointed from instructors demonstrating and guiding other instructors during her private classes. Requested a few times and to add a note that our private classes should focus on the child only. It didn’t really help much, even when we requested the instructor face-to-face. We have put our self on the waitlist for other instructors. Unfortunately after receiving an email letting us know that we have 30 minutes to book our child to other instructor, the portal didn’t have any information of where to reassign our child. We called in and the customer service didn’t have this availability on their side. They did not even know how to guide the parent throughout the portal. Seems like they don’t have any knowledge about it. The three stars is because there are many good instructors there. I believe that like others we prefer to have balance and one instructor.

We have been coming here for almost two years now. The instructors are great- from Parent and Me to private/adult lessons, they all know what they are doing. Everyone is professional and it is almost like a factory (not in bad way) when they were at full capacity. Everyone gets in and out of pool every 20 min and instructor moves to next student. The facilities are large enough and clean, especially with COVID. I do enjoy doing lessons for my son (3.5 year old) at less busy times because it is a bit less noisy and helps him concentrate, especially with the instructors masked (which is required of course). The only complaint I have is when schedule changes happen (which is A LOT with CoVID), the text message communication and voice recordings are not the most consistent and can be confusing.

I loved the place, really clean and nice. The only concern as it doesn't have any storage to keep your clothing, so you need to bring them with you. Our teacher was nice and friendly. Good experience

My daughter has been with waterworks since she was 6 years old when she started newly . She is currently in her Advanced stroke clinic lesson since swim teams has not re-opened due to covid . The experience is incredible as the staffs are friendly and the swim instructors are very good with kids . Initially my daughter had water fear as she started her lessons elsewhere but after coming here she started enjoying the time in the water . I would highly recommend anyone who is planning to start the swim lessons for their kids. I am planning to register my little one too who will be 3 this August .

Please understand that covid 19 is transferred easily in any Indoor environment. Indoor pools create an additional danger because of the enclosed atmosphere. The virus can be transferred easily throughout the ventilation system which will be inhaled by students, instructors, lifeguards or spectators even with masks due to the extremely small size of the virus. Every health official and doctor works with us knows that fact and for that reason the county does not allow indoor activities. It is very sad to see cases are increasing across the county because of people like you who chose profit over safety!

Our daughter moved through the parent and me classes at a good pace and has enjoyed the private lessons. She's quickly gaining her confidence back in the pool after the long break due to the pandemic. She misses the family swim nights which were fun for all ages. Looking forward to continuing here for a long time. The instructors are great and the front desk is efficient and was able to work with us to find a better time for lessons.

Modest facilities, but the place is awesome for kids learning to swim. Instructors are great, we haven't had a single bad experience with them. Booking system is somewhat inconvenient, but it is more friendly about makeups than most other swim schools. Ample parking. Oh, and kids love the prizes they get when they level up.

The teachers are great with teaching young children (my 3 and 5-year-olds attend), even those that cry or seem scared at first. Their methods do help my kids to float faster than other swim classes we’ve taken. My kids also love to play in the pool after their classes, which the center offers for free. I just wish the classes were longer, both because it takes so much effort to get the kids there already and because it is pricier than other places per-minute. We still plan to continue with them because their methods seem solid and the location works for us.

Great customer service experience. I came for lap swim at 6:30, and the front sales clerk was very courteous and told me everything I needed for lap swim and then showed me around.
Docking 1 star for how humid this place is! I'm honestly very surprised that not many people have commented, but at 630am, it feels like a sauna. There is water dripping from the ceilings. At first, this is pleasant, but when you get out of the water hot, you shower, and then you start to sweat, it's very unpleasant.
Docking another star for their (in consequence to how humid it is) rampant infestation of moth flies, or small, pesky flies that tend to land on your arms or legs. They're everywhere! On the walls, in the shower, on the edges of the pool... Especially in the deep lines in the cement around the pool, where they clearly breed and hide.
Unfortunately, it seems that Waterworks hasn't deep-cleaned their facilities in a while (also noted by the spiderwebs around the shower rooms). I enjoyed my time here until I noticed those things, and they were big enough to dock 2 stars, sadly.

Our first child finished at 10:20a. Coach Tyson is very patient and professional. Then we waited for one plus hour to let our second child to have a try with coach Leilanni. The class was supposed to start at 11:20a. It ended up as coach Leilanni didn't even show up to work...The swim school didn't send phone call/text/email notification to us at all about this even on the same day. They did not provide any replacement either. Wasted so much time waiting there for nothing like a fool.

I had a much better experience last summer in terms of reliability. The facilities are really great. That said, twice in my schedule my class was taught not by the instructor I chose but by an "instructor-in-training". So in other words, it was a waste of a class. And, considering it is a class of babies-->toddlers, it was even a bit dangerous the way the trainee handled a 4month old baby. All that said, DEON has been the highlight of our experience. The absolute best instructor, so friendly, helpful and my son adores him. Would continue to come back if my son could take more classes with Deon.

Rude front desk staff. Unreasonable make up policy. Keep losing good teachers. I have already had three bad experiences with this school, so I have to write a review to warn parents who is considering sending their kids to learn swimming at this place. Their front desk staffs are really rude treating the parents.
My first bad experience with them is that one day I was lining up in the front desk to get something done, while there are only 3 people in the front of me, it took nearly 30 minutes before I can had a chance to talk to the staff. But guess what I was told? They told me they needed to prepare a birthday party and have to close out the school early and refused to help me. They were literally shutting me off despite having seen me standing in the line for more than half an hour, before their usual business hours ends.
My second bad experience comes with their unreasonable class make up policy. If your selected teacher is out or sick, they will force another random teacher available on the same time slot. If you don't want to have a random teacher for your kids, sorry, it will be your fault and you will be treated as if it was you who were at fault for cancelling the class.
Furthermore, they seems to be unable to keep good teachers. We had to change teacher for our kids 3 times during the past year because all the teachers that we had/liked quit the school.

My daughter has been attending Waterworks for a little over 2 years now. She looks forward to her weekly lessons with Francisco. Francisco is a great instructor. He is patient, encouraging, and challenges my daughter. She loves the water and we often get complimented about how good she does in the pool. This is a testament to Francisco's great coaching abilities.
Update: We were having some issues getting make ups scheduled and they were piling up. I was able to work with Alicia in management and she has been a tremendous help. She was able to get us some times that worked well with our schedule and introduce us to a few other great instructors that my daughter is working well with. This has opened up additional options for us with scheduling.
