This swim school takes up a lane for hours inside the gym. They take away space from actual members to that gym. Sometimes they kids are crying the entire session. The gym is a place for adults. The school should move to an aquatic center or outdoor pool where there are other children.

We have had an amazing experience. Both my kids love it and they have officially learned to swim and also be safe in the water. If your child is afraid of water this a perfect place. My son was really unsure of water and now he loves it.

My wife and I have been taking our children here for years now. The teachers are wonderful, particularly Lily, who has been teaching our kids for the last year or so. Learning to swim is so important, we are glad we made the choice to send our kids to Waterworks.

My kids started Waterworks Aquatics just over two months ago and I’m impressed at their increase in skill. Lilly is our teacher and she is amazing! She always gives us tips on what to do to help the kids at other pools and what to work on in the bath. This is the first swim class for both my kids (7 & 4) and I have been incredibly pleased with the stress on learning to float on their back to rest when they’re tired and need to catch their breath. Lilly is very sweet and the kids truly trust her. I didn’t give 5 stars because of the number of times LA fitness has closed the pool for maintenance.

I would give 0 if I could. The teachers are good but the organization is awful. 4 weeks in a row we show up with my 5 year old only for them to tell us we are not on the schedule. This is after multiple calls and confirmation emails. Don’t waste your time....

I would give it 0 if I could. My review is only for the customer service of Waterworks and not the swim instructors. I bought a 12 session package for my two kids to start. First lesson was supposed to be on February 3rd so we drive to the Torrance location and instructor doesn't show up. She is ill (which I have no issues with) but I didn't even get a phone call that lessons are cancelled. I don't live close so I would have appreciated a phone call. Not only did they not call me they also didn't have another swim instructor to fill in for the lessons (as the website claims). Funny thing is they require a 2 hour cancellation policy from customers. Why isn't that a requirement for them as well? As I sat there fuming, a parent came up to me and said the lessons were really good but trying to call and change a lesson was a nightmare. He expressed that he has had issues with rescheduling. I went home and cancelled the 12 sessions that I had purchased. It's a shame because I would have been a loyal and long term client but they totally screwed this up with poor customer service. Beware, every time you contact Waterworks office, they like to put you on hold or push you off to another person (unless you are purchasing packages).

My son is 6 years old and has been taking swim lessons here and there since he was 2. Redondo union... Akai swim... some private ones...none of them was very successful, and at redondo union the instructor even put him in a time out because he was afraid to put his face in the water. He recently had a bad experience with a lesson that made him never want to go back. He has never swam and is still fearful of putting his face in the water.

Mary Jane at Water works was soooooo patient, gentle and kind with him. He didn't want to even get in the water and was so scared at the beginning of our private lesson. Mary Jane was so sweet, positive, that by the end of the lesson he was floating on his back and so proud of himself. After the lesson he asked when he could go back and see Mary Jane again.

LA fitness was super nice too. The lady at the front desk offered us to use the kids club bathroom to change in, and even said we could rinse off in the shower was long as we didn't go into the locker room. Changing in the pop up tent didn't bother us though, so we didn't take her up on it.

Love that it's in doors too, no sun screen needed! Also, the email customer service is amazing. They are help and very prompt in responding.
