Am very happy to have found Amelia. I am an older long time Pilates advocate and, over the years and many moves, have experienced a cross section of trainers. After recent Pandemic changes , and the subsequent trial and error, experiencing a few new studios and trainers, Amelia really fits the bill. She is gentle and extremely knowledgeable and thorough. I leave my session, after arriving feeling the worse for old age wear, totally invigorated. I reiterate- I am very happy to have found Amelia and her studio West L.A. Pilates! A true professional!

I absolutely love the welcoming vibe that they give you at Westla Pilates. They’re extremely capable instructors that really care. I did some privates there and not only did I get to work out on the reformer but they also have chair Cadillac and other equipment too. They offered to help me get a cute selfie on the equipment but I was too shy!

I love the plants, lighting, and bonus that There’s a awesome chiropractor, right there!

Amelia, the new owner of West LA Pilates, has been my pilates instructor since 2021. She is very adept at working with any injuries or physical limitations you may have (and still a great instructor even if you don't have any limitations and just want a good workout). If you have never tried private, classical pilates, it is very different from a lot of pilates classes these days. You can go at your own pace and everything from the movements you do to the weight you use on each exercise is customized to your body and what you want to achieve (and much better for avoiding injury). This studio has both reformers and cadillacs (types of Pilates equipment), so you can really do the full range of pilates exercises and this variety means you don't get bored. It's truly a form of exercise that you can do throughout your life. The studio location is very convenient to Santa Monica, Mar Vista, Cheviot, Westwood, and the 10, plus there is a Trader Joe's right across the street!

When I first came to Patte and the team at West LA Pilates, I was in a lot of pain and had bad posture. Now I am stronger in places I didn’t know I needed to be stronger. My pain is significantly less and I have learned a lot of new exercises to do on my own to help me continue to strengthen in addition to my fabulous Pilates sessions.

I had been going to a pilates studio by my home outside of the WLA area but was recommended to try West LA Pilates. After trying it out I decided to join and have not looked back. There are so many reasons that I could list however the main ones are related to the level of knowledge, experience and instruction provided by the owner Patte. She is very thorough when having a session with her. Before the session commences she always checks in to see how my body is doing and if there are any issues before proceeding. If there are then she adjusts the workout accordingly. She is also very sensitive to guiding the movements so as not to cause injury, safety first. Another thing that I like is her ability to be creative in making every workout different. It never gets boring. Since joining my overall posture, flexibility, core muscle strength and energy exceed what I experienced from the facility I formerly attended. I am truly happy with the studio and grateful to Patte for her guidance. I cannot recommend this studio enough, it has been well worth it for me.

West LA Pilates is a small studio and almost private classes. This allows you to get individual attention - a must for all beginners. You see some ads of a group going gangbusters, but here you learn the importance of form and correct muscle engagement- you are not here to “flash dance!” Patty is very knowledgeable about your muscles and body works. She suits your routine to what you as an individual need and want to make stronger. She works with you and for your best interests and pace. You come to strengthen, not necessarily for your cardio action for the day. I have been here almost 2 years and am extremely happy and have not needed the knee replacement bc my own muscles have developed to support my torn ACL!! Thank you Patte & Dr Park!!!

I have been a client of West LA Pilates for over a decade. This private, small studio is women-owned and operated, and the owner and instructors live in our neighborhood. The work is personalized and extremely effective. I prefer this studio over Physical Therapy or personal weight training and the classes are no more then 4 people and the best workout for both long-term health and budget. I am unsure if Patti is still doing one-on-one personal training, but if she is, take advantage and book. If you are an experienced Pilates person (not the corporate Pilates or the fake "workout" kind) you will love this no-nonsense environment. There is disability access and plenty of street parking.

I started going to West LA Pilates because of upper back pain that was making it difficult for me to do my job. I was amazed at how great I felt just after the first session! Patte, the owner and instructor, really helps me to open up my chest to help relieve my pain and promote better posture. I was always so sore after work that I could barely move by the time I got home. Now I actually have energy to get things done or go out once I’m off. She has helped me tremendously and I am so thankful for her. It’s clear that she has a true passion for what she does and I would recommend her to anyone who is seeking a Pilates instructor!

I have never left a negative review in my life simply because it isn't worth it to leave anyone a bad review. This is one of the worst interactions I have ever had with a person or business.
I found Patte online on Yelp, she was the closest pilates instructor to me so that is why I contacted her. At the time she had a 2 for $99 special listed on Yelp, which she didn't honor, she said that she had changed it to 2 for $140. That should have been the first red flag. I booked sessions with her for my teenage daughter as it was close to home, she only has privates and in total I prepaid for 10 sessions. I don't know how she is an instructor just as a business owner. In the first month of using her, she has canceled for vacation, canceled last minute due to illness(totally understandable), and asked us to come earlier for her convenience(because she was taking classes and wanted to leave earlier even though it was inconvenient for us) and asked us to come at different times. I was very accommodating to her. Then one morning my daughter was not feeling well and I texted her at 7:30 am in the morning to cancel the 3 pm class. She informed me of the cancellation policy and said she would let it slide this time. I know all about cancellation policies as I work with one and because of COVID and empathy for people I let things slide as I do not want to see a sick person. Patte herself gave me less than 3 hours to cancel the appointment with us. I think that customer relations are reciprocal. I asked about the cancellation policy and she informed me unless someone is in the emergency room she doesn't care. Her tone was entitled and I felt like canceling all classes but since I am not taking the classes I let it slide. I know that cancellation policies are necessary for people who constantly cancel or miss their appointments and don't value your time. After the 8th session, Patte texted me and said that the next session was the last and she would be going away again. I texted her back and listed the dates my daughter had been to her and corrected her that it was her second last. She never responded. So after the 9th session, I tried to speak to Patte and she told me that she would no longer honor the sick day. I said that there is a text log of all conversations and it shows that she is the one who constantly tried to move appointments to suit her life and waived the cancellation for the one and only time my daughter was sick. She then pulled me into the back room closed the door and told me I was rude to her over text and that's why she changed her mind. Why? because I asked about her cancellation policy? I have the text log and if anything she was rude and unprofessional. (we are the easiest clients, she said so herself when she wasn't so angry and entitled) She started raising her voice and I tried to leave and hit record on phone when she came at me (for safety) which I have never had to do before, she then grabbed my phone and threw it on the floor(which is all recorded BTW). Please be wary. Why is there only 2 reviews (one of the reviews is herself) in the 24 years of business?

I have been going to West LA Pilates for more than 2 years. It's an important part of my life and I look forward to it every time I walk in the door. Patte, the owner and main instructor, knows bodies and knows how to maximize their potential -- especially ones who are in pain. The studio is intimate and friendly, and workouts are customized to the clients. Patte is a stickler for good form and I carry it with me throughout the week. There are never more than 4 people in a class. I suffered a painful herniated disc a few years ago, but haven't had any problems since going to West LA Pilates. Patte also hires really good, solid instructors. And, Dr. Wilson Park, the chiropracter is wonderful, as well as James Kelly, the acupuncturist. It's one stop pain relief.
