Chris, Erin, and West Sac S&C are true gems! 3 years in, I can confidently attest to the potency of their home-cooked recipe (served with heaping helpings of humble-pie): enter feeling like whatever, genuine and warm greeting in, come out in an hour drenched in sweat just feeling gooooood. I've not only expanded my physical prowess beyond any training I've done elsewhere, but I've really--trite as it may sound--repeatedly expanded my self-imposed mental limits under their gentle but firm guidance. So grateful and thankful to have found the incredible community Coaches Chris and Erin have built from the ground up, literally! Incomparable dedication and fierce energy--better be ready!!!

I have been at this gym for over a year near and its like my second home and family. The programs are challenging but you can tailor anything to your experience level or fitness goals. There are no pretentious "crossfit bros" at this gym. The morning session I normally attend is a group of older 40+ year old people who just want to stay fit and support one another. The owners, Chris and Erin, area really great people who work hard to make the gym an inviting environment and organize events for the members outside of the daily workouts.

I have truly enjoyed my experience at West Sac Strength & Conditioning. I came in as a beginner and have been hooked ever since. The workouts are a mix of weight lifting and conditioning that can be tailored to each individual’s fitness level. The coaches are amazing and great at teaching correct form and encouraging you to be your best. I love the gym culture- uplifting and positive- as well as all the class times that are offered! Sign up for the free trial class, you won’t look back!

I've been a member for 5 months and I can say this is the best workout experience I have ever had. Chris, the coach and owner, is super friendly, extremely knowledgeable and great at teaching you the techniques to be successful at all the workouts. Everyone who attends is really friendly and encouraging so its a very welcoming and positive environment. While the workouts are challenging, they can be scaled to meet you where you at so any beginner can start. And if you stick with it, you will be amazed how much stronger you and better you feel. Can't recommend this West Sac Strength and Conditioning enough!

Great programming! I've tried out a number of CrossFit gyms in Sacramento and other places, and WSSC has one of the best offerings around. Good offering of equipment, lots of classes each day (including a 6:30pm class), and very effective coaching.

The culture at this gym is not for everyone. I do suggest giving it a free trial and seeing if it works for you. It's definitely worth trying the other Crossfit gyms in the area before you commit.

I’ve been a member of West Sac Strength and Conditioning (WSSC) for over a year and my experience has been amazing. I had an athletic background, but was never exposed to CrossFit style training. Chris, the head coach and owner, was very welcoming and is very knowledgeable. He took the time to teach me the proper form for Olympic lifts, gymnastics and other functional movements. Once I got the hang of things, I was hooked!
Whether you are totally new to fitness or a conditioned athlete, WSSC is the spot for you. Chris does a great job of programming challenging and effective workouts with a “scaled” option for every movement. The atmosphere of the gym is very positive and the gym members are all friendly. I am very happy I decided to try this gym and will be a member for a long time.

If you are looking for CrossFit-style workouts, this gym is for you. Classes are a nice mix of barbell, bodyweight and gymnastic training. It's also programmed for competitive athletes to beginners and represented by these groups and everyone in between. Strongly recommended.

Great coaches that teach safe form and provide a lot of encouragement. I have seen major strength improvement in my workouts and am continuously learning. The environment is encouraging and all the clients are super friendly and encouraging. Love this place.

This is a great weightlifting gym. You are able to see your workout for the day before even going to the gym so you know what to expect. The members are friendly and Chris the owner is great. This is a great place to go if you are just beginning to weightlift or even if you are advanced. I definitely recommend coming in for a trial class to check it out. It is also a nice location in West Sacramento.

An excellent new gym in town. Great location to get a workout in on the way to or back from work. The owner Chris knows his stuff, and programs great workouts. He is friendly and professional, very quick to respond. He also does a great job modifying the workouts to meet your skill/fitness level. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing! Chris is a great coach, and really knows his stuff, plus he individualizes for each client, and makes everyone feel like they are truly a team. He has obviously put his heart into making this place a top of the line strength and conditioning gym, and his programming is fun, challenging, and has lots of variety. Southport has a new gem!
