One school never changed!!! West Wind….🙏
My kids joined West-Wind in 2019 when we used to live in Oakland. Due to COVID our family moved to San Jose. My kids still attend Alameda school.
I enrolled my kids to develop self defense but school helped them to learn how to become a Great citizen. They share life lessons and experience with kids.
All teachers are great and very difficult to pick one, but My kids Master Mr. Baker is the best 🙌.
West-Wind school is like extended family and we feel fortunate that we found the perfect school.

I love this place! The kids enjoy their lessons with their teachers as they provide a good teaching relationship. It's fun to watch them work and get the techniques done successfully for the first time. Even the teachers get so excited!

I started to participate in this school when I was 10, and I'm still entering the dojo as a 15 year old. I've had a lot of amazing memories that I can look back on when I think of West Wind and this martial arts system not only improved how fit I am, but also helped me mature a lot growing up. People always believe that I'm older than my actual age because of how proper I act and the manners I show them. It's all thanks to West Wind Schools that I can always act proper when needed and keep my head high. The instructors at this dojo are very dependable and love to include anyone to join them in martial arts to have fun with it. The student can be from any age range, or any background, and the instructors will always welcome them with open arms. I would recommend West Wind to anyone who's been interested in martial arts or trying something new.

Amazing teachers and a wonderful care for your development. Safety is their first priority. I'm so glad I found them. The school really emphasizes private lessons and it's wonderful to be able to work one on one.

The school seems to put a lot effort in getting the space expanded these days, as they are getting quite popular... Not without reason though - teachers seem nice and my kids enjoy the classes.

I just wish that more attention is given to the cleanliness of mats ( hence 4 stars rating) as kids get pretty nasty looking feet after training :S
Not just the visible dirt, but the nasty fungal and bacterial could be lurking from that type of attitude. Some parents even walk with shoes over already messed up mats/hardwood floor ...
Inmho the school should impose more stricter hygene rules at dojo... Other than that, the place provides a great team spirit and confidence building skills.

A few years back an instructor at this school was not happy with our daughters attention and performance and took matters into his own hands. He took her to a back room and used a stretching device to punish her. She had to go to doctor and receive counseling for months. The point is watch your children at all times. Ask questions. Why is my child crying. What are those bruises. Be involved.

I've only been going to this place for about a year, but it's amazing! Much better than my multiple past martial arts experiences. The instructors are amazing, and what they teach you does really help.

Overall its a very good school. I have been going for about 2 years now and I will continue to attend. Since then, I have gained more confidence, integrity, and strength. Not only is the curriculum very good, but the teachers are FANTASTIC!
