I began the Wholebody Method Pilates instructor program during the COVID era, and looking back, it was truly one of the best decisions I’ve made. The program took me nearly two years to complete, but I’m so grateful for the opportunity to move at a steady pace and really immerse myself in the process.

WBM’s focus on the classical Pilates method, combined with a deep understanding of the mind-body connection, completely transformed how I see Pilates. It’s not about flashy moves or performance—it’s about mindful control, inner connection, and being fully present in your body.

Since completing the certification, my approach to Pilates has shifted in such a meaningful way. I now think more intentionally about how each muscle supports every movement and how to design thoughtful, personalized sequences for each client.

I’m incredibly thankful to WBM for instilling this authentic Pilates mindset. It’s more than just a program—it’s a whole new perspective.

I have worked with multiple trainers at this studio and they are all superb in their own way. Cynthia will push you to your maximum, making you realize your limits are much further than you previously thought. Mimi is a master and will make you go deeper, with the most perfect form. Michelle has the kindest heart and is the nurturer of the group, if you're having a bad day, you'll feel better just being around her.

No matter your ability or your size, this is the most welcoming place for either group classes or reasonably priced private sessions. I could not recommend Whole Body Method more.

I have been attending for almost two months and it has been wonderful! It's my first time attending a Pilates studio, so it is hard for me to compare to other studios in terms of quality of teaching and pricing. But overall I really love the space, the classes are small (6 max students) and they have lots of class options at different times/days to fit your schedule.

I have been taking a weekly beginners Pilates class with Titia Murphy, and it has been such a positive experience. Titia is a knowledgeable, thoughtful, and encouraging instructor. She takes time to explain how the equipment works, what muscle groups we are focusing on, and how to adjust the exercises to suit our bodies. I especially appreciate Titia’s attention to detail with my current injuries. She follows up after each session to see how my body is feeling. I am looking forward to continuing to explore Pilates with Titia’s expert guidance and care.

This pilates studio is by far my favorite. From the environment, to the cleanliness, and the care taken by both staff and clients, its a ten in my book. I usually take Mimi’s class and her energy and upbeat spirit really pushes me to work harder and strive to reach my full potential. I have attended WBM for about 7 years and my experience has been fantastic. I have attended classes, worked with student instructors and full time instructors. One time I even got to work with Nigel which was truly an amazing experience.

At present I'm working with Cynthia and she is the really great. To get the full benefit of the workout it helps to be using the correct muscles and proper posture/spinal articulation. She is great at getting you to get the most out of each and every workout. Her encouragement and partnership is second to none.

The vibe when you walk in is both encouraging and soothing. I am always challenged but in ways that are appropriate for my level and encouraged to reach that next level. The new studio is even better than the old one. I definitely recommend trying this amazing studio.

Titia’s beginner classes were my introduction to the world of Pilates, and it’s been a life-changer. I suffer from chronic hip pain that emerged when I was doing road races and which only got worse through three pregnancies. Pilates has been the only thing that has brought lasting relief from the pain. Titia’s class was perfect for me as a true beginner who had never used any of the Pilates equipment before. Now I’m comfortable using the reformer and I’m hooked on Pilates!

I have been taking Pilates at Whole Body for almost 10 years, beginning with a doubles partner and now privately. My private instructor is Michelle Lameh. Michelle is my savior, friend and amazing instructor. Her approach is to understand your issues and heal them with her hands on approach, using the Pilates techniques that keep your "whole body" strong. Her knowledge is incredible. I am always uplifted when I am there. The new facilities are beautiful, peaceful and add to the enjoyment. Nigel Sampson is the owner and always welcoming presence whose understanding of the body is limitless. I thank them for adding to my health and happiness.

This place saved me and kept me sane during the pandemic when I didn’t feel safe to go to public classes but also needed to get back to movement classes again! I have never done Pilates before even though I have taken and studied various movement methods including teaching yoga for many years myself. Michelle ( my private instructor) met me where I am at and introduce me to Pilate with a lot of care and knowledge. I felt safe and in good hands. Each time I learn something new about my body and get to work on weak places I was not able to before. Michelle is the best and she continues to push me while making sure I get what i need each week. I can not say enough good things about her & the studio.
Also the vibe of the studio is so chill and professional. The co-owner Nigel is always welcoming and all other teachers and clients all seem to enjoy being there. They also just move to a new spot ( next door) and the new space is cool and beautiful and allow for various classes/private to happen at the same time safely.
Pilate is a great way to stay healthy, connected to your body, build strength and flexibility without getting injure. I can’t believe I was always afraid to try now this is definitely one of the highlight of my week and one of the best thing that came of of the last 2 years of COVID.

I've been attending this studio for many years and highly recommend trying it out. They offer small size classes as well as one-on-one training in a lovely new space. I’m grateful for the Instructor Certification program because it means being able to partake in one-on-one training sessions with Student Instructors who are carefully tuned in to the correct form for every exercise (for very reasonable fees).
Every Student Instructor I’ve worked with has been great so Nigel must be a good teacher. I feel stronger and more flexible with Pilates in my life.

I have been going to Whole Body Method for around 7 years, it's been so long I'm unsure if this is my first review. After my class with Michelle B. today I feel compelled to leave another. First WBM teaches classical Pilates - if you're looking for a Pilates workout on steroids, this is not for you. However, don't be mislead- it's quite a work out. It is the only form of exercise aside from swimming that has helped my chronic lower back pain. It's about focus, and truly- mind body connection. I am happy they have survived Covid and are slowly opening up again after offering fantastic virtual classes to keep your body and mind in shape when not on the sofa eating in front of the TV. That being said, they have an excellent certification program so there is a large turnover of new instructors freshly out of school. (They are the best- they want to do a good job and recently educated, they do it right). Which leads me into doing Pilates correctly. It is really important to have an instructor who keeps an eye on you and ensures you are not hurting yourself. When twisting into a pretzel it's important that your neck isn't doing the same thing. When I started as a beginner at WBM, there was an instructor named Chrissy- Leigh who made me love Pilates- she was witty, sharp as a tack, always had an eye on your form and above all the best Pilates instructor at WBM. When she left I felt bereft. Enter Michelle B. 2021- the new Chrissy Leigh, a previous dancer as well, she is totally on top of it. Attentive, funny, enthusiastic, she will push you to your limit and back (I love a challenge). Most importantly: today I walked out of there with an endorphin high from an incredible workout + I felt like I had just left the chiropractor. My neck no longer hurts and now I know what I've been doing wrong for a long time. I highly recommend her classes and I'll wager her private sessions are even better. This is a good spot, very Zen- classical wood reformers Cadillac's Wunda chairs (they really are), a brick and wood industrial space with a fountain, art by Daria and warmth- no clinical steel here. Nigel and Daria are also lovely, if you are lucky enough to have a class with Nigel, don't say I didn't warn you. Ask him nicely and he'll trot out his model spine and name every bone, muscle and tendon in your body.
Did I mention that I am a 50 year old woman with the body of a 40 year old?! Seriously, if you want a healthy body in good shape, this is the place for you.

I too have been going to WBM for 10+ years. I'd never done pilates until then and Nigel is the master - great teacher, intuitive to your body's needs and a great guy. Whole Body Method and my wonderful trainer, Titia Murphy, quite literally saved my body after a recent knee replacement surgery. Her knowledge of proper pilates form along with her patience and re-assurance completely rehabilitated me! I love this place and all the people in it. Nigel Sampson has created a truly unique exercise and awareness environment that extends from the spacious, immaculate studio to the warmth and focus of all the instructors. I used to box 3 times a week with Pilates thrown in to mix things up. Now I’m doing Pilates 3 times a week and using the other days to recover! My instructor, Jen, puts me through an hour routine that is just as intense and demanding as anything I ever did in the ring. But, the great thing of course, is that the Pilates workout is not only kinder on the body, it is better for the body. My highest recommendation.

If you are looking for a Classical Pilates certification program that is comprehensive, well-organized and structured, then look no further. I have done all of the research for you. Before finding the Whole Body Method, I explored several different programs and found this one to be the BEST. Nothing compared to the curriculum and hands-on approach that this program has to offer. What sealed the deal for me was that it is modeled after a true accredited teacher education training program, with student teaching hours included. Now, anyone that has gone through a teacher education program knows how invaluable that can be in helping you gain experience. In short, upon completing this program, you will feel empowered and confident to take your Classical Pilates knowledge into the “real world” of instructing.

I started working out with Nigel at Whole Body Method back in 2006 and I cannot rave about this studio or the benefits of classical Pilates enough. Nigel, who's insanely knowledge and a master of his craft and his awesome team practice a truly holistic approach to health and wellness that transforms the body from the inside out. They create a lovely environment in a beautiful and super clean studio with easy parking and extremely professional teachers that are keenly aware of each of the class participants' needs. Through this method you really deepen the work to build a strong core, which in turn supports the whole body and helps with posture, stress, flexibility and strength. I can't recommend this place highly enough. There are a lot of pilates studios in Los Angeles but few of them feature a space that is so large, bright, well-equipped and just pleasant to work out in. Owners Nigel and Daria seemed to have picked their team of trainers based not just on skill and knowledge, but on personal warmth. I always look forward to training at Whole Body Method because I know it'll be a great workout, I invariably have fun and I learn a lot. Trainer Mimi Umidon takes a very personal interest in seeing that I get the most out of my pilates sessions. On a personal note, while it's not part of Whole Body Method's offering, Mimi also had a broad range of knowledge about nutrition as well, so she's helped me become more conscious about my diet just as she's helped me become more conscious about how improved strength and flexibility can lead to improved health. I always leave my sessions with Mimi feeling more ready to take on the day, and more excited about it.

Whole Body Method offers the most extensive, in-depth certification that incorporates all of the classical techniques that Joseph Pilates perfected. Not only that, there is a major emphasis on anatomy and how and why we work/strengthen/rehabilitate the body with each of the Pilates exercises we incorporate.

The entire team at Whole Body really supports the students during our apprenticeship and training and the hands-on teaching assisting we participate in is priceless. All the instructors are kind and knowledgeable and really makes you feel welcome. I can’t recommend Whole Body Method enough!

I tried this studio because I had trouble getting to classes at my old studio. Everyone was really friendly and the class sizes are small. I really like their whole body approach. It's just a very wholesome vibe!

While I have no complaints about this studio, I guess this method just isn't for me. I'm used to a much faster-paced SPX Pilates (who knew!), and this one is traditional. This class was just a bit slow for me (I get kind of antsy) and I didn't break a sweat. I'm sure it benefits you in the long run, but I like to walk away from a workout feeling like I accomplished something.
