So, we signed up our 7-year-old daughter at Wildfire Gymnastics, and while she loves gymnastics and has tons of potential, I’m feeling a bit disappointed. The coaches seem to be more focused on chatting and gossiping with each other instead of engaging with the kids. It really feels like they aren’t putting in the effort to help them grow and improve.
We decided to trial another academy, and they were quick to recognize our daughter’s abilities, moving her up two levels right away! If you're looking for a place where your kid can just hang out for 90 minutes without much expectation, go ahead and register here. But if you want them challenged and supported on their gymnastics journey, you might want to look elsewhere.

I think anyone reading reviews should disregard the recent 1 star reviews because this woman’s personal life has nothing to do with what kind of business woman she is. Probably a great place, and people should only leave a review if they’ve been here.

This review is only for absence of progress updates and structured assessments.
My daughter was eager to learn gymnastics, so my wife signed her up for the weekly class at Wildfire Gymnastics in Lake Forest. Initially, it was great with a lot of kids and a well-equipped facility. However, after five months, we decided to drop the class due to a lack of progress updates and inconsistent coaching. Each time the coach changed, my daughter had to start over, which led to boredom from repetitive tasks every week.
Taekwondo classes have belt testing days to assess levels. Ice skating classes have 10-week programs to assess skills. My kids can prepare what they have learned. Surprisingly, Wildfire Gymnastics lacked a structured approach. When I asked the reception desk about moving our daughter from Level 1 to Level 2, they mentioned it depends on the coach, revealing a lack of standard assessment and testing days.
Additionally, it seems there may be a shortage of coaches, which could be causing intentional delays in moving members to different levels.
Advice to Management:
Wildfire Gymnastics should consider implementing X-week programs for different levels, with clear training goals and designated testing days, instead of letting parents waste money on something unexpected. It can better serve their students and parents.

My son is 6 and has been in jr. flames for six months and has learned absolutely nothing. That wasn’t a huge deal for me since he was getting some energy out, but also slightly disappointing. But then they tried to charge me a fee because of a communication error on their end and that really rubbed me the wrong way. Own the error, don’t tell me about the “policy” you forgot to mention, two hours before the “free” trial class I was offered, which was now no longer free. My son is now trying out the tumbling class but I will be pulling him out if he doesn’t learn any basic skills within the next month or two.

As a parent of three daughters who have been part of Wildfire Gymnastics in Lake Forest for several years, I've seen firsthand the exceptional growth and development they've achieved here. The facility is immense, boasting top-notch equipment that caters to a wide range of abilities, from beginners to national-level athletes.
The coaching staff has been a significant factor in my daughters' progress. Their ability to scale demands and training intensity with the children's age and progression levels is commendable. However, it hasn't been without its challenges. We've had to provide critical feedback at times, particularly regarding the amount of time spent and some instances of classes ending early. Despite these hiccups, the overall quality of instruction remains high.
The environment at Wildfire is both nurturing and rigorous. The coaches push the children to work hard, instilling a strong work ethic and discipline from a young age. This approach has yielded notable improvements not only in their gymnastic skills but also in areas like confidence and teamwork.
I've been particularly impressed with how the academy tailors its programs to individual needs. Whether it's catering to my youngest daughter's recent potty training or adapting to different coaching styles, they've shown a remarkable ability to ensure each child's comfort and success.
Moreover, the impact of Wildfire extends beyond gymnastics. The structured learning environment has unexpectedly enhanced my daughters' speech and reading abilities, a testament to the holistic approach of their training.
The facility itself is a wonder, akin to a professional gym with its vast array of equipment and space. It's a place where children's dreams of gymnastics glory seem tangible, underscored by the array of trophies and accolades the academy has garnered.
In summary, while there's room for improvement in certain operational aspects, Wildfire Gymnastics offers an environment where children can thrive, learn, and excel in gymnastics. It's a place that truly challenges and nurtures young athletes, preparing them for both gymnastic success and life's many turns

This place is understaffed and the kids suffer because of it. My niece has been at this gym for 5 years, and it's only gotten worse. Over the last year and a half, we have been trying to get her into private lessons, but it's impossible because the coaches are all fully booked (to be fair, they are mostly young teens and still in high school, so I understand why their time is limited). They won't let her on the development team because she isn't progressing fast enough, because the only availability they have to offer is rec classes that most of the kids find boring because they are being babysat, not coached on any fun new skills.
Frankly, if your kid is excited about gymnastics or motivated to do more than free play, you're better off finding somewhere that actually has the capacity to help them.

We had a very bad experience, my 3 year old daughter LOVES running around and jumping, we were super excited about the spring camp, unfortunately the coaches all looks super tired and mean, nobody smiled and talked to the kids, they just try to keep the kids “SAFE”, they don’t coach at all, just being a babysitter to look at them, so my daughter was feeling scared and cried so hard,we have to leave in 30 minutes( including 15 minutes free play) we are SO glad that we didn’t pay for the whole week camp.

My 3 & 6 year olds love going to the camps at this location. More recently, I was super duper impressed and thankful on how they made our daughters birthday party a huge success for all guests. 3 girls (Kate, Stephanie, & ??) we're on site watching over roughly 30 kids. & they were on it from all angles from beginning to the end. They made themselves present upfront & offered to set up. They were great with the kids whether it came to corralling them for a game, even getting them to look at the camera for a picture. Finally, they were fantastic about cleaning utensils & getting things out the door while others oversaw the guests & helped them with the equipment. Our expectations were beyond exceeded!

It's definitely great for kids parties, 2 rooms with huge blow up slides and obstacle courses and a room to feed the kids in after. It does run a bit $$$, but that does dover the staff. If it's in your budget, it's worth it. If not, there's other cheaper ways like renting a gazebo at the parks.

We were clients during the shut down with covid. Tuition was no refunded and they tried everything to make it difficult to do any “make up lessons”.
Our boys did summer camp this week and are signed up for next week. The camp is boring and they boys are having a terrible time. We tried to withdraw next week but they won’t refund or bend their policies when children are not enjoying their experience. So who are you in business … for your clients? Apparently not. And apparently not for the children therefore… just money. That never sits right with me.
Very disappointing. Find a different gym!

My daughter has been taking gymnastics here for 3 years and has improved so much and LOVES it.
This year she wanted her party here and it was great! Organized, professional staff took care of everything. They didn't just supervise, they organized games and activities with the kids. The kids had a great time! Everything was very clean and ready for us when we arrived, they let you bring in your own food. The staff served the kids, and cleaned up and were really friendly. I highly recommend having a party here!

Don't pay a month ahead. Honestly me my wife have learned the coaches don't approach you when it comes to your child not fitting to the class. They will leave to the boss. That is how we found out our special needs child A. Was not welcomed in the class because he was a liability. He has bee with this coach for 3 months n B. My wife informed of his issues and requested a one on one with him . We were told no problem. Now, we find out that that can be accommodated. They want him to do private lessons or put him in another class. My wife has not gotten a response back yet. Yet, she has paid for the month. Knows that he cant come back next week yet she has already paid. Honestly. I would give this place a better rating if we had not been lied to about our son being welcomed. She came and balled her eyes out. Because to her it crushed her. I mean how do you hold it together to tell your child they are not welcomed back to some place they love going? Honestly, you can't . So if you have a special needs child who has physical limitations . Please don't consider coming here.
Then when they say they will call you back the next day. They don't. My wife has waited by the phone all day no one has called her back. She tried to call them. No one ever answers the phone.

Gymnastics for 70$ for 4 classes a month
My kid enjoys her class
(+)
Good facility
Waiting area for parents
Free WiFi

Very bad crowd management at drop off area. Imagine 50 people in a 12x12 room and you need to Wade through these people to drop your kid
Sometimes we have no idea which instructor coaches your kid, they do call out the class name but they are barely audible
Parking gets crazy. When 20 cars enter while 20 are backing up to leave the parking lot
Smell...sweat+body odor+ bleach
Front office staff.... SOMEBODY GOT TO TELL THEM TO BE PATIENT AND PROFESSIONAL WITH CUSTOMERS, ( I did run into some courteous staff members, but some of the younger ones, they are plain rude)
