The YMCA gym carries a calm and welcoming atmosphere. It feels less like a high-pressure fitness center and more like a community hub. Many of the members are older adults who bring a sense of warmth, patience, and friendliness. Instead of loud competitiveness, thereβs a respectful, comfortable environment where people greet one another, encourage each other, and take their time. The pace is steady, the energy is relaxed, and it feels like a place where you can focus on your health without judgment β almost like an extension of home

On Saturdays Mike is on duty. He is the self appointed head of this YMCA branch. He makes up rules as he goes along to suit himself, that none of the other staff follow, or even know about. Are his "Rules" in print anywhere? NO and they should be.

Weekdays in the morning Kim is on duty and whether you're a new customer or an established member, she is always welcoming, helpful and cordial. She will always go above and beyond for everyone. (5 Stars for her)
Weekdays after Kim's shift, Jennifer is on. She is an expert at doing as little as possible. Don't expect much. She never cleans up the place, like all the others do, just sits in the office.
Kim's been replaced by Nancy. She does clean up around the place a little, but spends way too much time sitting in the hall way, visiting and talking with friends.

I love the place, the equipment n personnel, i think if they rotate. It should open on sunday or at least 6 pm on saturday

I like the relaxing yoga that I get to go to Every Tuesday and Thursday nights. Jennifer is excellent and easily shows how to breathe with movements.

Their hours are limited. Most of the gyms and even other YMCAs are open on Sundays but this Yolo County YMCA does not! On Saturdays, this YMCA closes by 2 pm whereas most fitness centers and other YMCAs open until 10 pm on weekends.
The operating hours of this YMCA is only for retired people.

Good place, comfortable atmosphere, not pretentious at all. It shares with most gyms the unfortunate fact of obnoxious music played unreasonably loudly, sometimes too much for my nose cancelling headphones even.
