When traveling, itβs nice to try and keep a routine of exercising. During a recent visit to the Healdsburg, and Geyserville, CA area I discovered World Gym. From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed. Dave, a personal trainer was in the lobby and I chatted with him for a couple of minutes and then Maria came over to get me checked in for a day pass. What a delight both of them were, exactly the type of people you want representing your business. Dave and Maria thank you for kindness and the information you shared.
Not only were Dave and Maria welcoming, but the facility at World Gym is clean, and adequately furnished to get a good workout.
I certainly will be a return visitor when back in this area.

Came here while visiting in Healdsburg and was pleasantly surprised with this place. Been around for a while and there is an old school vibe thatβs great.
Equipment is a good mix of old machines and new machines, but there is a huge variety and you can get a great workout in. Picked up a week pass and definitely got my moneys worth and much more than I expected on my travel time.
If youβre looking to maintain your fitness regimen while in the area, this is the spot! Staff was wonderful as well, and I was able to get a morning workout in on Thanksgiving.

My wife and I have been going to World Gym for a number of years. Joe the owner is a great guy. The regulars are great people, no problem sharing or waiting on a piece of a equipment. One quick story. A young man.. maybe 20yrs, was working out alone and had a little to much weight to bench the weight back up. One of the regulars calmly walked over, help the kid rack it and calmly walked away. The kid was a little embarrassed. Hell we've all been young and been there. But it was cool just to see a regular help the kid, nod at the kid and not embarrass him anymore than what he already felt. It's just that kind of a helpful place. Also there is a trainer there name Dave. I've used him for a few years. Due to a severe auto accident, I have issues. I've worked out on my own, but than I would do something and flare up an injury and I'm laid up for a while and have to start over. Working with Dave I have gotten great results. I'm not looking to get buffed, but toned, after my accident I was in bed on my back for almost a year. PT got me out of bed, but that was it. Doing it on my own I was getting the results I mentioned before. With Dave's help, I've come a long ways. I'll never get to where I was before my accident. But I am having a better quality of life where I can travel now. Dave has done one hell of a job helping me. If you need a trainer, check Dave out. Bottom line. Great gym, good people.

My friend and I were thrilled to have found this great gym while visiting. Ideal for us who are used to hard core workout facilities with every imaginable weight and cardio equipment. Joe the owner was so gracious to meet us early in the morning on Easter Sunday prior to our departure to let us in for a morning workout. We are grateful for his hospitality.

Had a great workout at World Gym as part of our stay at The Lodge Healdsburg - they have everything you need! Large gym, clean, friendly. Joe, the owner, was very nice and took the time to introduce himself and make sure we found everything we needed.

Horrible customer service. Owner needs to learn manners and common courtesy. They will cancel your membership for no absolute reason and wonβt give you a refund. Told me to leave the place with a horrible manner and no explanation whatsoever!! Highly disappointed in this gym considering all the positive experiences until nowπ€¦π½ββοΈ

Small but MIGHTY!
ONLY marking it down from five stars based on price point. (more on that in a moment.) Otherwise I loved this place.
Caveats to this review:
I have been a competitive bodybuilder, a competitive strength athlete, AND a coach of competitors over 30+ years of lifting. This is not a "flex," but mentioning it because OBVIOUSLY colors my perspective. Worth mentioning up front.
Also: I was only in town for a quick weekend, coming in from across the country (Boston) for a wedding. I was just a day visitor to the gym. My experience may not be the common one of members.
The space seems friendly to both "general fitness" types and heavy lifters alike. Indeed, the dumbbells went up to 150 (as single that this space encourages aspiration and hard work), and there were a few lifting cages (not just racks). Definitely a space that is focused on either weight training or athletic cross training, with an equipment array that isn't trying to coddle or under-estimate it's patrons.
One thing I LOVED was that the dumbbells had HALF WEIGHT INCREMENTS well into the higher values. You almost never see this any more! Need a step between between 80 lbs and 85 lbs? They got you covered. This is such a logical feature that not only welcomes advanced lifters, but also allows beginners and intermediate to really make gradual progressΒ β which is both safer and more sensible. Bravo on this one aspect.
I like how the "cardio equipment" (ugh β just go outside people!) was NOT the dominant presence. Indeed, maybe 1/5th or less of the floor space was two humble rows of cardio. No - this is not meant to be a place where you zombie out on a stepper. Again, bravo.
I liked the division of space overall, but it was a little quirky having the dumbbells placed so far away from the barbells and other weight equipment. A minor flaw, easily overlooked. Likewise, the front foyer was strangely disproportionate and included tons of unused space. That felt weird. Meh β again, easily overlooked.
I appreciated the locker room for it's sparsity and functional purpose. It is NOT LUXURIOUS β in a GOOD way. Clean, for sure. But apart from a quick shower and change, the locker room is here for a function, not for luxury; you have a trustworthy clean shower and space to change, but this is not a spa. Heck, the shower stalls are old school bays with no curtains; modesty be damned; this is about function and efficiency. And it works. VERY well. High marks.
One simple litmus test for "whether a gym is a good gym for serious lifters" is this: "Clutter that is not confusion." What this means is that, in a place where people are busy at work, there will always be a bit of expected clutter. Not UNTIDINESS; not confusion. Just bits and pieces all throughout the gym space; various handles, different pieces of equipment, odds and ends β all revealing that the space is where people get to work, not where they "idle away on a chore." The "organized clutter" of a gym is an ASSET, not a glitch. Clutter without confusion. The space had lots of options; from athletic training equipment to traditional weightligfting.
Now, I think $30 for a day pass is absurd. I understand it is encouraging membership, and understand Healdsburg is no stranger to wealthy out-of-towners. But come on . . . $30 for an hour or so? One star down. Be more price welcoming.
Kid behind the desk was a bit flaky, but not off-putting. Just a kid being a kid.
Gym vibe did not smack of camaraderie, but rather people in their own space. That is either an asset or a deficit depending on your preference of gym energy. It was not cranky in any way, but definitely not, like, warm and cheery. Neutral to reserved would be the way tom classify the vibe.
DEFINITELY some serious physiques roll through. THAT was obvious even on my short visit. Big muscles and powerful strength is welcome here βΒ and clearly encouraged. I appreciated that.
As what some would label a "serious lifter" I would eagerly go here again β my only hesitancy being that obnoxious and unnecessary day rate.

Some nice equipment, but more old pieces just taking up space. Very hot already in the gym, see what it's like in a few weeks. Although it is the best of the local gyms, for an old gym rat like me. Price is competitive. 6 out 10

Overall a good gym. My only complaint would be the cleanliness, especially the bathroom. They seem to almost never clean and just has a weird smell to it.

This gym is one of the best in the area! Everyone Iβve met has been kind, professional, and helpful. Iβve been coming here for the past 6 months on my lunch breaks and Iβve always been able to get my workouts in efficiently with all of the equipment one could need. Unfortunately Iβm out for a couple months after having major hip surgery but I canβt wait to come back when cleared!

In town for a conference, and was very pleased to find a serious gym, where you could train without flashy distractions. The equipment was in great condition. They have enough of a variety to meet different athletic needs. No gimmicks here! Highly recommended.

I only come here to lift weights so it's great that have a lot of free weights, benches and squat racks. They also have machines and treadmills. A niche thing they have is suanas which are only available periodically. Overall nice place to get a good workout at.

Owners are very good. I took a membership but was not able to continue it so I requested the owner that as it was my first month can he cancel my membership right away rather than the wait period of 30 days and he understood my request and helped me. Other than that a great place to work out, very good staff. One thing I liked about it is very hygienic. Have necessary equipments. Recommend.

More expensive than most gyms with standard equipment. If you are looking for fancy machines and a pool than go to Santa Rosa or if you can pay over eighty a month Parkpoint. If your needs are basic, and you're not a clean freak (like I am...) then this place has everything you need. Tennis court, basketball course, old school weights and multiple rooms... the treadmills have their own room, but there are only two. Overall not my place to regular, but a decent place to visit when in town.
