Obsessed with X-CORE and the results I’ve seen taking classes here. I just completed the SWEAT-EMBER challenge to help me prep for my wedding and feeling great. The instructors are all fantastic, the studio is nice and they offer a ton of class time slots I can squeeze into my schedule. Highly recommend.

Admittedly, I have not tried many Pilates studios in the area, but that's because I love X'Core so much I haven't needed to search around. I've been going here for four years now and don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

The classes are challenging, but they have different levels from the most beginner classes to advanced classes. The instructors are fun, encouraging, and very knowledgeable if you have questions or need modifications. With my membership, I'm able to visit all their studios too, so I can have fun taking classes with new instructors if I want to switch it up.

I definitely suggest trying out X'Core if you're looking for a new way to work out!

This is only Pilates place I've been to, and I really like it. Instructors are nice, helpful, price seems reasonable, facility is nice and it's a good, quick workout

I’m extremely disappointed by my interaction with Rebecca. She was not my instructor, yet treated me and my guest with unnecessary rudeness and impatience. The front door was locked and no one was at the front desk. The only accessible entrance was through the Lagree Pilates door. Upon entering, Rebecca immediately snapped at us, telling us to “hurry up” because we were “interrupting her class.”

I maintained decorum and chose not to argue, out of respect for the others in her class—but her behavior was completely unprofessional and a poor reflection of the company she represents.

What’s most frustrating is that I’ve had nothing but positive interactions with every other instructor, even those I haven’t personally trained with. Rebecca, however, showed a complete lack of people skills and basic courtesy. This wasn’t just disappointing as a customer—it was disappointing on a human level.

Do bette Rebecca.

I’ve been going to X’CORE for a few years, and it’s a great little studio on Piedmont Ave! The Pilates and VersaClimber classes are challenging but rewarding. The instructors are knowledgeable, making each class both fun and motivating. They also play great music! Highly recommend it to anyone looking to level up their fitness!

Been a member here for 2 weeks and have tried 6 instructors so far: Elizabeth, Sue, JL, Sarah, Miname (Emeryville) and Mason (xClimb). All of the instructors have been great! JL is a vibe if you’re looking for some good energy, Elizabeth has excellent hip hop playlists, and Mason will absolutely kick your ass in a climb class. Instructors are great at correcting form and encouraging you to keep going as you, or at least I, am slowly dying inside from the burn 😅

I’d highly recommend this company as there’s great flexibility in going to studios across the east bay, the city, and Marin and it’s very diverse.

Not only the best studio with the most amazing instructors and community, it’s also solid low impact with high intensity!!!
Due to knee and lower back injury, I have to avoid yoga and most cardio workouts. One month of Pilates and Climb already puts me in much better shape, not to mention the targeted muscle groups really helped to alleviate the pain!!
Highly recommended for all! And especially for those also doing PT - wishing to accelerate the recovery. This is not a medical advice, but worked for me perfectly 💙🧡🪩👯‍♀️🤗

I wish there were more than five stars! :D I started at X-Core on New Years Eve, 2018 and over 700 classes later (climb and burn) haven't looked back...As others mention, the classes are FUN, challenging, and effective. The community -- instructors and classmates -- are supportive, friendly, and encouraging. Win, win, win. Couldn't be happier. Thank you x-core, for keeping me healthy, strong, and grounded especially during these challenging times. Update 1/23/25: still going strong!!! ❤️🥰❤️

I’m close to completing my 1200th class at X’Core. I love it. X’Core is not just a fitness studio, it is a supportive, fun community. I love their classes but I’m most grateful for the wonderful friends I’ve made at this studio.

I am so happy to have found X’Core. I go to the Oakland location which has both the xBurn and xClimb classes. I have an unlimited membership so I take both classes. The xBurn classes are always challenging and give me a great workout, you will definitely feel the burn and know that you worked your muscles really good in any class. For cardio, the xClimb classes are amazing. I remember the first time I took the class, it was probably the hardest workout class I’ve ever done. You burn an insane amount of calories in just 30 minutes. I am not someone who likes to run, do jumping jacks, or sprints because it’s uncomfortable and painful with a larger chest, so when I found the xCLIMB class I was SO happy. I’m able to get a great HIIT workout in without hurting my chest and knees. The instructors are all great, I’ve taken so many and appreciate the hard work they put into designing both classes. Well worth the money and time. Staff are also very nice and keep the studio very clean.

My sister and I tried XCORE for a month and enjoyed it so much that we signed up for memberships. From the moment we walked in, the front desk team was warm, friendly, and professional, setting the tone for a positive experience.

We’ve been taking early morning xBURN and xCLIMB classes, and they’ve been an amazing way to start the day. xBURN is a high-intensity Pilates class with quick transitions between moves that keep you engaged—you really have to pay attention to the instructor’s cues! After just a month, I already feel so much stronger. xCLIMB, on the other hand, feels like being in a club at 6:30 AM—the dark room, loud music, and the DJ-like energy of the instructor make it incredibly fun. Plus, it’s super efficient; you burn tons of calories in just 30 minutes and leave completely drenched in sweat.

The studio is clean and well-maintained. Booking classes through the app is seamless, and the overall vibe is supportive and inclusive.

I’ve already recommended XCORE to friends and family and even shared my experience on Instagram. If you’re looking for a studio that’s clean, welcoming, and easy to fit into your routine, XCORE is definitely worth checking out!

I highly recommend this studio! The instructor is excellent, the front desk staff is always friendly, and the bathrooms are clean. I've already referred several friends, and I'm planning to refer more. I'm now up to three classes a week with my unlimited month class pass. If you're looking for a great workout that will help you get in shape, I encourage you to try a class. I was skeptical at first, but now I'm a convert. Hope to see you there! 😁

Best full body workout ever <— science. Setting that aside, it’s just fun. Great music, high-energy instructors, and a really fun, welcoming environment. The type of workout anyone can do. Make it as hard or easy as you want to match your fitness level. Running is too hard on my knees but this workout crushes the legs and cardio. Highly recommend.

*Unaccommodating to people with different bodies and different needs* ----- I currently do pilates and have almost 2 years of experience. I wanted to try something a little more fast pace so I found X'CORE. I went into their community class and was immediately turned away. Why? Because I have a chronic toe issue. Because of my chronic toe pain, I use clean fitted sneakers that are ONLY for the mat. Never worn anywhere else. It's exactly like wearing sticky socks, but it allows a stiffer bottom so my toe does not bend and cause more trauma. I have worn it to pilates over 100 times and it has changed my life. Planking, lunges, standing on the reformer, balancing. Everything I need to do, I can do safely and without harming my body further. The moment I walked in and told them I will be using my clean special sneakers they turned me away. Said there is absolutely NO way I can do a workout there without ONLY sticky socks on. They took it a step further and said "even the owner is getting a toe surgery so she can continue to do workouts here". So I need to do surgery for your establishment? You don't provide any scaffolding or support with people with disabilities? You only expect super fit and perfectly abled people to work out? Our bodies are on a spectrum and we should ALL be allowed to work on ourselves in a safe way. My sneakers (again, clean and only used on a clean mat) are just as safe as socks. The soles are sticky from rubber... just like the rubber on the bottom of a sticky sock. They are tied tight and fitted. I totally get saying no to bare feet or slippery regular socks.. that can actually be dangerous. It was unreasonable, upsetting, and really unfair. Provide accommodations. Help people figure out the safest way to work out for THEIR body! Let someone build themselves up there! I mean, at the very least, as an instructor if you are nervous, have them try with simpler movements and slowly build them up as you see how stable and safe they are. Truly unbelievable.

X Core is the best! I have been consistently doing the Pilates classes for over three years now, and still love coming here. The instructors are excellent, the classes are fun and always challenging. The wide variety of class times makes it easy to fit into a busy schedule. The owners Cora and Elaine are so incredibly nice and welcoming.
I have gotten stronger and more fit since coming here.
Last year I injured my shoulder surfing. The instructors here offered modifications so I could continue to attend the Pilates classes and help rehab my shoulder. I am so grateful.
X core has been so positive for my overall health and well being!

I LOVE XCORE! My favorite fitness studio - the classes are fun, full of energy, and leave me feeling soo strong and sore. I have been going consistently for a few weeks now and already feel so much stronger. The instructors are all super friendly and have great playlists. I definitely recommend arriving a bit early to the studio - the classes are short so they like to start *right* on time and sometimes parking is tricky.
It has been so great to find a workout studio that I love and has me actually excited to workout! They offer two classes - one is xClimb on the versaclimber, and the other is xBurn which is reformer pilates. The classes are really different and they are both such good workouts. I am trying to get everyone I know to come to class with me because it's so great - I 100% recommend it!

X-Core is an amazing woman run local business. The instructors are all so friendly, supportive and very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend you try the xclimb, it’s a 30 min butt kicker! Btw parking can be rough at times so go a bit early to ensure you find parking!

I have been coming to XCore for 4 years and it just keeps getting better! The combo of XClimb and XBurn (Pilates) is the PERFECT challenging and balanced workout regimen. The instructors are all great and Elaine and Cora, the owners, make everyone feel like they’re family. I honestly could not survive without XCore.

XCore made me magically visit their gym on a regular basis week by week since November. The pilates workout is extremely effective and so fun especially for folks like me that don’t get a lot out of cardio. I only visited their location in Emeryville and so far I just love it. The instructors have their own routines and style - it is not repetitive at all and also it keeps being a challenging workout but adjustable for each level. The gym is clean and all you need is there. I can highly recommend XCore.

I've been coming to x'core for a few years now, but recently purchased an unlimited all-access monthly membership. Becoming a member held me accountable and made it so easy to exercise. I felt so confident and strong in my wedding dress after 3 months training here. Highly recommend! Only delta is that the studios could be cleaned and serviced more frequently.

Still the best studio I’ve ever been to!

It’s always a nice “welcome home” when entering this chic studio at the end of Piedmont Ave.

Feeling you might not be strong enough, fit enough, scared to start something new? That was me. A little under 2 years later and I’m still here, a little stronger, a little fitter and no longer scared (ok my maybe still a little/a lottle scared) of new moves coming my way.

This studio has the reformer and versa-climber machines (only one in the Bay Area possibly); one room blasts your cardio while the other sculpts those forgotten little slow-twitch endurance muscles. I take both. Try it, thank me later lol.

Xcore is more than a studio, it’s a community of extremely supportive owners and instructors that genuinely care about your well being and fitness progress. And you will progress! Show up, check your ego at the door, and surprise yourself! You’ll be pleasantly aware of muscles you never knew existed and how good they look on you! ☺️

Absolutely love X-CORE! I was first introduced to the studio through their xClimb (versaclimber) classes while searching for a new type of cardio exercise. A few minutes into my first class I was about ready to pass out, but I pushed through and now I can't get enough. I've also recently incorporated their xBurn classes into my weekly workout routine and I love how efficient the workout is - slow reps, (optional) heavy springs, a great team of instructors.. and all done in 40 min! Cora and Elaine are the sweetest and run a wonderful studio!

This is hands down the best studio I have ever been a part of. The pilates classes are a great workout (don't think you won't sweat!), the instructors are motivating and incredibly friendly, and the owners, Cora and Elaine, are professional, thoughtful, generous, communicative, and friendly!

I came to X-Core fairly new to pilates in 2018, and have never found a better studio and workout. The team also transitioned during Covid to live workouts, to support the X-Core community physically and mentally. I attended so many X-Live classes during Covid, and I really think they kept me sane and healthy during a time when all I wanted to do was mope around on my couch ;) They are back now in person, and managed the incredibly challenging and scary year amazingly - putting the health and needs of the community and staff at the forefront, and being thoughtful about when and how to return in person.

This is an amazing community of people, a challenging and strength-building workout, and a supportive space to grow and learn. You couldn't ask for anything more, and I hope they stay around for a long long time.

Just visited X-Core Studio for a class. One word - wow! This is one of the cleanest studios I've ever visited, and the classes are taught by fun and engaging instructors. The climb class was taught by a Soul Cycle instructor so it was super fun (and what a work out - you'll come out soaking in sweat!). You'll feel like you're at the club thanks to the dark room and music except you're totally working out your arms and legs for 30 minute straight - climb to the beat! Great place for date night too. You can take the Pilates class before and do a "double" class, if you're up for the challenge! Love this clean studio/space, the fun and knowledgeable instructors, and the mindful owner. My husband and I can't wait to try their other classes!
