I’ve been coming here for 2.5 years, and I can honestly say this gym has made a big impact in my life. I never considered myself a “gym person,” and it took everything in me to even get started. I committed to showing up Monday through Friday for the first six months straight and the rest is history.

It wasn’t easy at first, but eventually, I started to notice a real difference—not just physically, but mentally. My mood improved, I felt happier longer, and I finally felt like something was working. Even when I’ve had moments of slacking (like this past month), it’s the coaches—Mikayla and Alec, the owners—that keep me coming back.

Alec isn’t just knowledgeable—he cares. He takes time to listen, not just to how you’re doing physically, but mentally too. He understands that life outside the gym affects how you show up inside it. He doesn’t just tell you what to do—he teaches you why and how to do it right. That’s rare.

The atmosphere here is incredibly positive. The community is supportive, welcoming, and everyone genuinely wants to grow. It never feels overcrowded or intimidating, and that makes such a difference.

This place has become more than a gym for me—it’s my mental reset after a long day, a place that makes me feel strong and confident. I’ve never stuck to something this long in my life, and the growth I’ve experienced—inside and out—speaks volumes.

I searched for a year to find a gym like this, and I wouldn’t recommend it lightly. But for anyone who’s serious about making a change and doesn’t know where to start—this is the place. They’ll teach you the basics, work with your level, and support you every step of the way.

I came to XX to take my fitness journey to the next level but have gained so much more than just improving my physical strength. The most well rounded Gym in the Central Valley! XX Functional Fitness provides classes for ALL levels of individuals M-Sat. The knowledge their head coaches hold on the human anatomy and functional strength is second to none. I’ve personally have done several of their classes along with personal training and have always been amazing by the professionalism of their coaches. 1000% recommended starting your lifestyle change with them to help guide you.

This family-owned fitness facility truly welcomes everyone. They care about everyone's individuality regardless of age and where you are in your fitness journey- they are just happy that you showed up for YOU.
They teach many class sessions and personal training, from fundamentals to flexibility/mobility and yoga. I used to shy away from group training because I feared that I would not get the help I needed, but Alec and Mikaila both ensure you are correctly working the target muscles, correct you if you aren't, and push you to be the better version of yourself.
What really draws me to this facility is that they also include mental and nutritional health aspects as well. They are also known to host local pop-ups and charities.
By far one of the best facilities that promote body positivity, community, growth, and health. Proud to be a part of the XX-Family.

I’ve been to numerous box style gyms full of ego and poor personal instruction. XX is the first one that believes ego is left at the door and change is happening. XX is a true micro gym dedicated to individualism and overall strength building both physical and mental. Theres only true strength connoisseurs at XX.

I came to this gym with knee pain and a goal for personal strength. After meeting with them and being evaluated I chose to begin classes. In a very short time my knee pain has been resolved and I feel stronger every day.

Being here feels safe.
I started with a goal and was able to learn quickly with the help of Alec , he is patient and kind . The environment and encouraging atmosphere is so positive ! can’t wait to get back to the consistency I was at. Great coaching skills and I truly recommend 🫂

Before I joined the gym I was afraid I was joining another cross fit gym. What I soon learned was that we were doing something different called Functional Fitness and I am really liking it.

Three of my favorite things since joining this gym:

1. The community - great people that motivate you to do your best and want to come back the next time.

2. I feel better - getting out of bed, walking around, and being more active out in the real world are easier for me now since joining XX.

3. Safety - I don't feel like I'm going to get injured!

As a self professed book nerd and not an athlete, I can’t recommend XX Functional Fitness enough. This is not your typical gym. Proper form and technique training is the highest priority because they want you to be able to still move and enjoy life at 80+. Staff is skilled, knowledgeable and friendly. They seek to develop the whole person- not just muscle gains. Very community oriented too!

Highly recommended!! From just getting started down the fitness road to school athlete to older athlete. Alec is a personable, likeable trainer who cares and gives great attention to the details. He is able to organize a group of us and yet give personal attention to each. Great mix of cardio, strength and flexibility training in a structured, clean fun motivating atmosphere!!

Great environment & great training routines. When you join you can go to any class you want any day you want. It's not just about hitting weights here, it's about keeping your whole body in balance. Couldn't have chosen a better name than functional fitness.

Have you ever walked into a gym and get the feeling like you don't belong there. That feeling that everyone there is stronger, knows what they're doing and you might be in THEIR way... well it's not like that at XX FUNCTIONAL FITNESS. The environment and vibe itself is welcoming. The owner/trainers have an eye and the skills too help you learn about yourself and dig deep into YOUR strength. We all have strength. Whether we need to build on it, or find it.
