Yaz is the best! Great lest 45 minute workout ever. No attitude, just good vibes and good music.

For the price of being a YAS member, the bikes are extremely dated. Almost all of them have "rough spots" and are in desperate need of service. If the bikes don't have a rough chain, chances are something will come lose in the seat or the handlebars over the course of the workout. If compare the bikes at YAS to the bikes at Kinetic, SoulCycle, or even your Globogym, there's a good chance that the YAS bikes are the worst ones you've ridden.
One redeeming part of YAS is Cait! She's a wonderful teacher who makes spin classes really fun. She has great energy, even when people in the class are kind of doing their own thing (don't really get why that happens at YAS). I really appreciate her. If you want to get a feel for the best that YAS has to offer, take a class with Cait.

High energy spin classes with fun playlists. Spacious sunny (aka not a dark blacklight club room) spin studio and there have been a few seats open in the 4:15 class so it seems easy enough to pop-in and take a class. There's always lots of open free street parking on Electric Ave (the street behind Abbott Kinney), which is a huge plus. Haven't taken the yoga classes yet but I plan on it and I'm looking forward to it!

I think I am spoiled by spin studios in NYC...the facilities were nice and modern - concrete floors, wood beamed ceilings with skylights, garage door glass wall.
They do not have spin shoes or towels on site. The spin studio has windows to outside, street level, and it is distracting, I prefer blacked out rooms for spin. I bounced on the bike when I tried to go fast - I put the resistance up to try and stop it, but it happened to me all class. Maybe it was just my bike, but it made me feel ill. The bikes do not have monitors to show the time, resistance, or speed. The class instruction itself was kind of boring. Would spend a whole song on one movement or speed. Spending 3 minutes doing the "front and back" movement on the same speed is monotonous. I broke a sweat but did not feel motivated or accomplished after class.

I was invited here by a teacher trainee, and after hearing about how great it was from a few friends I decided to check it out. I workout and take fitness classes quite regularly so I'm always open to try a new experience. I love the concept of the studio--spin and yoga fusion. The methodology is to provide training that caters to "athletes" in order to improve overall athletic performance. The spin class is high intensity cardio and resistance, while the yoga instills breathing techniques, isolated strengthening, lengthening and injury prevention. The facility and overall design has a really great personality--an urban, modern, pop feel. The instructors are really warm, high energy, and motivating. All fitness levels come here and they will modify or refer you to certain level classes depending on your ability. Clean facilities is a plus!

These classes are always a fantastic work out. Of course some instructors are better than others but there is no experimentation with these classes. You're always gonna get what you pay for - which is a killer workout with good music.
If I had a problem with them it's that they need to develop an online sign up form. Some of the more popular classes are a little chaotic. That said - they always make good on screw us and the people are super duper nice.
