Coach Sage Anderson is truly exceptional, and his classes are one of the best experiences I’ve had at a gym. Every session has a natural flow — beginning with yoga that brings focus, grounding, and balance, moving into the boxing portion where his knowledge and experience shine, and finishing with a thoughtful stretching segment that leaves you both strong and refreshed.
What makes these classes so remarkable is Sage himself. He has an impressive depth of skill in boxing, but just as important is the way he teaches. He is attentive to every student, no matter their level, and creates an atmosphere that is motivating, encouraging, and supportive. His instructions are clear, his corrections are precise, and his energy is contagious.
The blend of yoga, boxing, and stretching makes for a well-rounded workout, but it’s Sage’s passion, professionalism, and genuine care for his students that make the classes stand out. I always walk out feeling energized, accomplished, and excited to come back. Training with him has been inspiring, and I highly recommend his classes to anyone looking for both challenge and growth.

I rarely leave reviews but YBX genuinely deserves the hype. I’ve bounced between gyms, classes, and fitness phases for years, and this is the first place that actually sticks. The workouts are intense but smart. You’re pushed without feeling destroyed, and every class feels different (in the best way). It’s clear the programming is designed to build real strength, not just burn calories.
But what makes YBX special is the energy. It’s not just a gym, it’s a community. The coaches remember your name, they check your form, they actually care. Everyone around you is working hard but the vibe stays encouraging and ego-free. It somehow feels both challenging and safe.
Also… the playlist is always good. Like suspiciously good!!
If you’re looking for a place that motivates you to want to work out, this is it. So grateful I found it. 💛

I didn't get great vibes from this place in the several times I attended. First of all, the boxing classes are a joke. We get that it's mostly boxing for fitness, but I saw MANY (if not all) class attendees not taking the proper precaution and wrapping their hands. Very basic requirement that should be reinforced to avoid injuries even if you aren't a pro boxer.
There's also a speed bag station that they'll use as a part of a rotation for their HIIT program-- terrible execution since you're not able to just adjust the height between users.
However, if it's enough for you to have strobe lights, loud music, and nearly complete darkness to mask all these imperfections, go for it and spend the $200+ a month on their membership.

Working out can feel like a daunting task having to decide on the specific areas and exercises to train but YBX makes it easy! I can just go and enjoy a good workout. They really do the heavy lifting for you with formulating the classes, they are structured in a way that encompasses all I can ask for in terms of strength, fitness, stretching, and just a ton of fun!
The coaches are very attentive and Coach Devin and Erika greeted me and made me feel welcome from Day 1. Safe to say I will be taking classes here regularly!

You can get so much out something if you put your back in it and this gym makes it easy for you to stay motivated. It is a tight-knit and encouraging community. The coaches really watch out for you and help you with your form. The low-lit room and music help you keep your cool.

I've been coming here for over 2 years now and still look forward to it every time! The various workouts are never boring, you're doing something different every time so your body doesn't fall into the same old routine.
And you have to admire the dedication of the coaches. They pay attention to your form and make sure you're doing the exercise correctly. And just when you think you can't push yourself any harder, they're right there beside you saying yes, you can.

YBX Fitness offers excellent gym classes with a very helpful coach and a great environment. As other reviews mention, it is undoubtedly one of the best gyms in the area.
However, I gave them 3 stars because they need to be more transparent about their billing practices. The website lists a monthly fee, and my invoice matched that price. I typically use autopay and don't review my credit card bills closely. I later discovered I was charged an additional "7% platform fee" starting from the first month, which wasn't mentioned in the ads or the contract.
When I reported the issue, I was informed that, according to the fine print within my contract, they can increase the price without notifying members, as long as the increase is $50 or below. Despite disputing this charge, they have not refunded the amount and essentially told me to absorb the cost. I wonder if they would consider adding an "equipment maintenance fee" as well. This lack of transparency and customer service is disappointing

I've been a member of YBX for six months, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The atmosphere is fantastic—perfectly designed with a darker environment that helps me focus during my workouts. The coaches are incredibly supportive, especially Coach T and Coach Devin, who are always willing to help and provide guidance and correct my forms. Thanks to their expertise and encouragement, I've lost 8 pounds.
YBX offers a great variety of classes that run from 5 am to 8 pm, making it convenient whether you're a morning person or prefer evening workouts. One of my favorites is the Bootycamp classes, where I get to partner with other members, making the workouts sweaty and fun. The variety of classes is impressive, with specific days focusing on upper body and lower body training. No class is ever the same, which keeps things exciting and ensures I always have something new to learn.
What really sets YBX apart is the sense of community. Everyone here is friendly and motivating, making it a great place to work out and connect with like-minded individuals.

Omg okay so I’ve been going to the gym for literal years but was never consistent, able to push myself and therefore no results. I’ve tried different boxing and Pilates classes throughout the years and none of them ever stuck. But YBX tho!!! I’m so happy I found this place.
First, the vibes in the gym are amazing. I hate fluorescent lighting and gyms where I can see myself in the mirror when I’m sweating HAHA so I really love the lighting and the music they play here. I was really nervous my first class but all of the coaches were so nice (s/o to coach Devin) and everyone taking the classes are too! It’s a really friendly community which I appreciate.
The classes itself are pretty intense but manageable. I like that there’s a variety of boxing/cardio, yoga, strength, core, and bootycamp. There is literally no need for a regular gym membership. You get a super good workout in but the coaches never push you past your limit. Speaking of coaches, all of them are SO AMAZING. Coach Tee, Devin, Erika, Alejandro, Mikaela, Sage - literally every coach is so welcoming and I love that they will always correct your form.
Lastly, I ACTUALLY see results for the first time in my life 😭 I’ve been coming here for 4.5 months and I only do 10 classes a month too. And I have not changed my diet but like GIRL the results are resulting 😭😭 Obviously everyone is different, but this is truly the first time I’ve seen a change and I’m so happy! I would really recommend this place to anyone - I introduced my friend and now she goes more than me HAHAH

I’ve been to YBX for about 3 months now and I LOVE IT! All the coaches here are so great and knowledgeable. It really feels like a little YBX family here!! I already feel myself getting so much stronger. I’ve always struggled with pushing myself and having good form, but coach T is one of the coaches that motivates me and makes sure I’m doing the workouts with the correct form. The best gym I've ever signed up for! It's a totally amazing experience. I love that I'm focused the entire time, present, and relieving my stress. The coaches are friendly and supportive throughout. As someone with limited workout experience, I truly appreciate every instance they correct me when I'm not performing an exercise correctly.
Boxing is definitely fun, fun, fun! I feel strong after every class, and I feel motivated to come back, which is something that never happened to me before with any gym. I definitely recommend trying this place!

I’ve been going to YBX for more than a year now. Not as consistent as I would like since I work far, but I never stop thinking about going or make the effort.
YBX is the first and only work out studio I’ve ever joined and I have grown to love it so much! I was really intimated to join other studios, however since my first Bootycamp — my life changed. I only started going to Bootycamp for the first couple of Months, then tried all the classes offered and became obsessed!
I’m stronger than ever. Even though I’m not consistent - my body stays strong and everytime I go back, my body bounces back and looks even better!

I love this gym! I joined about two weeks ago and already lost 4 lbs. The coaches are super skilled at giving instructions and improving form. I always hated yoga before I started coming here, but now I get why people like it! Full body workout in glamorous atmosphere. Just the perfect level of challenge. One thing to improve on is if they got a dispenser for their cleaning wipes (like orangetheory). Right now, you have to take the wipes out of the can.

Let me start by saying that I have NEVER in my life been consistent with working out as I have been since going to YBX. My 1st class that my roommate brought me to was the 90 min bootycamp with Coach T. I was traumatized and did not return for weeks. Eventually, I found myself back there taking different classes with different coaches, who are all amazing! I was going through a rough time and found YBX to be the one thing to help with the stresses I was dealing with and I became addicted. I love the vibe of the gym, the music is always on point, you're working out with people of all ages and the coaches are so supportive, attentive and fun. It's such a welcoming environment and you don't ever feel judged.. unless Coach T is staring at you for holding the 10lb weights when you're doing wall squats knowing it should be 20lbs LOL Thank you YBX fam, you guys have made such an impact on my life!

I'm so glad I found this gym! I've been coming here for nearly 10 months, and I love the energy here. All of the coaches are super motivating and makes sure you work hard. The structure of the class makes it fun and is a great mix of cardio and strength.
Make sure you try one of the weight lifting classes! Bootycamp goes HARD but it's so rewarding to see your legs get stronger!
It is in a pretty central part of downtown, so make sure you come early to find parking!! There's unmetered parking near the apartments around the corner, diagonal from Academic Coffee.

Great, effective workout! Loved the variety with 15 mins. of yoga /stretching at the beginning, then 15 mins. of boxing, then 30 mins. floor HIIT work. The workout went by fast which I loved instead of looking at the clock and wondering when it would be over. It was challenging in a good way.

I have taken 2 classes so far- YBX fitness & Bootycamp. I love how these classes are completely different from each other and workout classes at other fitness studios. I have never used a barbell on squats or hip thrusts, which is great to experience. Coach T & Coach Alejandro demo and correct your form if needed. My gfs and I came to check out Yobox on a free trial they had going on! It was a good combo of stretching, strength and cardio! The coach was very engaging and helped all of us who have never done boxing before with our form! I like that it’s a combo of everything. In the heart of downtown San Jose, the location was a bit tricky to find but the gym itself is spacious, has a cool vibe and was super fun! Went for my first time this week and had an awesome workout. Loved the incorporation of yoga at the beginning, then into a few rounds of boxing and strength. For a first timer trying boxing, Coach T made sure I was doing everything properly and adjusted my form when needed. I finished class dripping in sweat! Can’t wait to try more classes!

Love this place, it’s a yoga & boxing & weight hybrid experience. Especially the 90min Bootycamp session, amazing! I really appreciate that it’s a group class, but coach T will keep an eye on everyone, so you will feel you get personal trained!
A must go gym!

First time trying this place out…let me just say A WORK OUT! I loved the vibe of the place and was welcomed right away from Coach T. He was an awesome help with checking on us during the workout, adjusting our posture for the movements, and motivating us! I can’t wait to come back again to get a good sweat in. 10/10 highly recommend

This is an awesome gym for anyone interested in trying out boxing! I have always wanted to try it out, but never felt comfortable because of my lack of experience. Coach T really helps everyone in the class feel comfortable learning about boxing. Each class is different and so much fun. I previously went to OrangeTheory and really liked the class style there. However, I definitely prefer Yobox for the atmosphere, fun workouts, killer music, aesthetic, and friendly staff and members. I would definitely recomendable trying it out!

This is a long overdue feedback as I am a kind of "picky" customer who only gives a 5-star review after trying all different classes in this studio for several months.
From East Coast to West Coast, from NYC, LA, Irvine, SF to South Bay, Coach T is THE BEST TRAINER that both my husband and I could never imagine to have: both his professionalism (he used to belong in national teams) and personality (he cares each and every one and takes his studio so seriously) shine.
We had Yobox Fitness (a lot of fun boxing) and Bootcamp (weight training) several times in past months:
1. I never saw any coaches or trainers who would provide detailing guidance to EACH INDIVIDUAL at EACH GROUP CLASS! Coach T could immediately tell your status or if any training experience, and based upon that, he always checks and corrects each one's form;
2. Each class is DIFFERENT with a different focal point so your muscles would not remember or get lazy. For an example, this Thursday's Bootcamp was a killing workout for upper body but today's Bootcamp was on lower body; similarly, yesterday's boxing was totally different from today's. Coach T literally and seriously spends so many efforts with his passion from heart to make each and every class to its best.
3. I felt extremely shocked and sad seeing a 1-star review on Yelp saying "Coach T paid more attention on skinny girls". I used to be 40 pounds more, and my friends who went to this studio with me all have different body types. But we NEVER EVER felt that Coach T treated anyone differently or had a preference just because of how that person looks; if one thing is different, it is that he pays much more attention on first-timers and would give more advice or demos to make sure no one gets injuries.
My friends, my husband and I highly recommend you to give this studio and Coach T a try: it is the best and most professional studio we have ever been to! And, it is 200% welcoming for all levels!

This is an incredible workout!! Whether you’re a total expert, beginner or someone like me who exercises regularly, but has plateaued in results, you MUST try this. There’s simply nothing else like this place around here. The classes are dynamic and fun; Coach T helps you work toward your goals and will push you, but will also adjust to your limitations, whatever they might be. Everyone is friendly and the way the classes are structured, the time go by quickly--considering your heartrate is soaring! Get yo’ YOBOX on!

YOBOX ROX! I have been training with Coach T for a couple of years now, and know that he is THE best in the fitness business. When he started this new fitness concept, I couldn't wait to try it out, and the verdict........Yobox truly is a unique concept and a fitness experience is like no other.
The ambiance: stepping into Yobox studio feels like walking into a high-end night club, the lighting, the music, the set up, and not mentioning the pristine condition, really makes one eager to immerse into this environment. I am a mom, so by definition, not cool, but the atmosphere at Yobox makes me feel like I'm the ultimate cool mom. 😎
The coaching: I am biased since I have been training with Coach T for a while, and knew he has endless tricks and knowledge up his sleeves to make it challenging but fun for all his clients, but this new yoga + boxing + weight training really hit another level of challenging and fun. Hitting a 200lb water bag is sooo hard but so exillerating, so much so that if you are hitting a punching bag at home, STOP and come to Yobox and you will know what I am talking about. I am not really into yoga, but coaches T and Gee, who is a professional yogi, created such a balanced flow that focuses on strength and agility building - the poses are held longer and you definitely feel the burn. No movement is too small to escape coach T's sharp eyes, he is always there to correct your forms, demo a movement or enthusiastically add more weight onto you. Both coaches T and Gee are very hands on with their coaching, which I really appreciate.
What I also love about Yobox is you really see people from all fitness levels, and there is no judgement, only ample support and encouragement from the coaches and the fellow Yoboxers.
You don't need to be a Rocky or a Yogi, if you want a good sweat, to increase your endorphins level, and to release some stress and frustrations (hello fellow moms!), try a Yobox class, and you will for sure be hooked - thank me later :)

My wife and I have been training here since the opening. Coach T does a great job of keeping the class moving, keeping everyone engaged, and generally creating a great experience. I enjoy the balance of yoga for strength and flexibility plus the boxing/HIIT sections for focus and core striking.

large studio, with a very fun atmosphere. I went there without knowing anything about boxing and after two weeks I feel I could almost step in a ring. They really teach you how to move around the bag and at the same time its a pretty challenging workout...some of their classes are focus on Yoga or only Boxing some are a mix. People are very nice there and super helpful, the trainers are very knowledgeable. It became my new obsession that’s for sure :-)
