I've been to so many yoga studios all over San Diego but it wasn't until I found Yoga Arts that I felt like I had finally found my yoga studio. Every single instructor is not only warm and caring but also excellent at what they do. Most studios i've been to in San DIego always felt impersonal and more fitness type yoga but yoga arts feels like the yoga I fell in love with. I've yet to attend a class where the teacher didn't pay close attention to my specific body needs, remember my name and made me feel truly seen. I think what makes it so special is its focus on Iyengar based teaching. I love how we break down each pose and place close attention to alignment and precision. If you are looking for a studio that will deepen your yoga practice and give you community, this is it!

I love Yoga Arts in Point Loma! The studio is beautiful, the props are easy to access and clean; the teachers are knowledgeable and kind; teachers help students to modify poses if injuries or disability are issues. I wish everyone could experience the joy of a Yoga Arts class. Your life will be better for it. 💖

I love, Love, LOVE practicing yoga at Yoga Arts. I've grown from looking forward to getting through yoga to looking forward to being in yoga. Owner Stephanie and the staff are well-trained, compassionate professionals who offer instruction based on individual needs and abilities. And who doesn't love a yoga class where the instructor belts out a hearty "Huzzah!" now and then? Yoga Arts offers the perfect combination of joy, challenge, and safety.

A welcoming space, with teachers who are thoughtful and caring. I feel blessed to be part of this yoga community. With both in person and Zoom classes, I love having choices that fit my needs. The spa and May offer wonderful massage too. And fish tacos right across the street. Does it get any better? Love Yoga Arts!

Yoga Arts is a wonderful place to practice yoga whether you are new to yoga or if you’ve practiced for many years. The instructors are very skilled and also friendly and welcoming. The classes throughout the week are diverse and offer many different options and focuses. The instructors are especially great at helping each person throughout the class whenever someone may need a modification to a pose to make it accessible to them. And if that isn’t enough there is Citrine Spa connected to the studio should you need a massage or other healing treatment. I highly recommend Yoga Arts!

I started at Yoga Arts a few months ago and love it! It feels like a true neighborhood studio and although the style of yoga is new to me, everyone is super helpful. I've met both May and Stephanie (the owners) and they have a really great spirit and commitment to everyone who practices there. May also offers massage, and has an amazing esthetician to provide facials (and they added microcurrent for facials! yay!) at the same location. Highly recommend!

This is my favorite yoga studio of all times. I'm a big fan of the way Amy (the owner) teaches, meeting me where I am that particular day, it's relaxing, and challenging at the same time.

I would recommend Yoga Arts to anyone who wants to continue or begin their yoga practice. Amy and the other instructors are excellent, with years of experience. And they are kind and encouraging in their teaching, they know their students and give personalized instruction as needed. I was looking for an Iyengar studio because of Iyengar’s emphasis on alignment and the use of props, allowing me to reap the benefits of the asanas without injury or pain to my aging body. I came here as a beginner and was a little nervous about what to expect, but everyone was welcoming and I was always given the instruction I needed to do my best. In addition the different yoga classes and levels of classes, Yoga Arts offers specialized workshops and weekly meditation sessions – all those I have attended have been excellent.

The instructors are some badass, kind ladies who have been doing yoga since before you were born. Regardless of your yoga experience, you will be made to feel welcome and taught at an appropriate level-no snobbery or judging. The classes are always never too big so you get lots of helpful feedback.

Very happy with my new yoga home! I hadn't practiced Iyengar Yoga before, and I really like the emphasis on understanding the form of each asana, and that the class length (75-90 mins) allows time for a thorough practice and sivasana. I feel challenged in the classes without feeling overextended or like I have to hurry to keep up (like in a fast Vinyasa class sometimes). Iyengar uses a lot of props (blankets, blocks, bolsters, straps, chairs, the wall...), and Yoga Arts provides all of those things, in addition to mats! Amy, who owns the studio and teaches most classes, is a kind and thorough teacher (and I've really enjoyed the other teachers I've had here, too!) - if you like hands-on corrections and attention to detail, you'll love it here. I like that the classes are smaller, and I find the studio space very peaceful and attractive. There's not much of an overt spiritual component to the classes (or things like positive affirmations/intentions), which I miss a little from some other places/styles I've practiced, but it sounds like that may be typical for Iyengar. There also isn't music played during class; at first I missed that, but now I'm finding that I can focus better without music (I'm a musician, so can get distracted in listening ;)). Overall, I feel like Yoga Arts is a calming place to come for a detailed practice that allows you to learn and pour yourself into the asanas, while also creating a safe space for introspection. I think the price is also good for the facility and props provided, and especially for the quality of the instruction.
