I really wanted to love Yoga Flow on Union Street — the space itself is beautiful, with lots of natural light and a peaceful vibe. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t live up to expectations.

The classes I attended felt overcrowded, with very little personal space, which made it hard to fully focus or move freely. It also seemed like the instructors were more focused on keeping the flow moving quickly than offering any kind of personalized guidance or adjustments — something I value, especially in a yoga practice.

Couldn’t write a higher review! The front desk is always so kind, helpful, and welcoming. The instructors are the best in the city, they truly have a passion for their practice.. I can’t recommend this studio enough.

Hidden Terms in Promotions – Unethical Policy

I loved the yoga classes, the variety of teachers, and the convenient schedule. However, their promotional policy is misleading and unethical. I signed up for a $35 trial week and decided to continue with their 50% OFF first month promo, only to later realize I was locked into a 12-month commitment at $210/month—something that was missed at their website terms for UNLIMITED PASS.

When purchasing the pass, no clear terms or pop-up warnings indicated this commitment. To make things worse, cancellation isn’t available in the online account—you can only do it via email, which is ridiculous in Silicon Valley. I felt deceived and disappointed, ultimately canceling my membership.

If you’re considering joining, double-check the terms carefully before signing up.

UPD: A manager of yoga flow contacted me and apologized for the inconvenience, and I was gifted 2 free classes. Thank you for hearing your clients!

Had a great heated session at this mornings 9am Vinyasa yoga class! Really enjoyed it, I am a beginner and I felt very comfortable with my level. The teacher was very good and friendly. I liked the music a lot too. The classroom is very beautiful and it’s on the top floor between trees so it feels very zen. I also love the windows - so beautiful! The class was full, but that is to be expected.

The studio is beautiful, two outer walls have huge, beautiful windows, letting in the outside sunlight but keeping it still intimate since it’s on the 2nd floor.

They have a 6am 50 min class which for people working east coast or cerebral hours is gold, the only studio I could find in the area with 6 am class.

It’s so comfortably warm and you get nice and sweaty 10 minutes into the flow.

The yoga instructor was great too, was easy to follow her directions to upbeat tunes

Price is the only reason it’s a 4/5 ⭐️at $35 a class it feels pretty expensive

I give this studio 5 stars. Very clean, spacious, and beautiful space. Friendly front desk staff, and above all, very friendly and inclusive instructors.

The only thing I’d complain about is the lack of friendliness and manners of the students. When someone else or I myself have to practice close beside one another when the class is packed, I always give them a smile or say hello, but they all usually have a stink face.

Also when we’re done, the environment suddenly becomes unwelcoming. No one says excuse me to one another, and just reach all over each other to get their belongings in a way that makes me feel like just hurrying up and getting out of the environment lol.

This is not something I can remove a star for though, because the mannerisms of the students is not the fault of the studio. Overall, I will definitely be returning 😃👍

I attended the studio for over 3 months. Overall, I enjoyed the yoga classes and the quality of the teachers are quite balanced. There are a few factors that made me give them 4 stars instead of 5.

1. The music is usually very loud and distracting. The loud music really diminished the purpose of doing yoga.
2. The classes are overall fast paced. But the sequences are somehow repetitive flows. I got bored after attending the studio for 1 month or so. Please add some arms or balance variations into different classes.
3. Some teachers are a bit overly dramatic. One teacher played a Sam smith song and told us to close our eyes and champion the power of getting over a breakup. Hmmm it is a yoga class teacher, it’s not therapy. 😂
4. Sometimes the studio is too hot especially during the hot summer days. The temperature can be more weather friendly.

I might go back to the studio and give them a shot again. But please at least considering lowering the music and reducing playing the pop songs during classes. 🙏🏼

I went to one class taught by Erin Gilmore and really enjoyed her instruction. However, if you use Class Pass, booking classes here can be difficult sometimes. The window for booking closes one hour before class starts, which sounds reasonable but is annoying when you don't know when you will get home or get off work. They also only allow you to take one class per month before significantly raising the number of points you have to use.

More like an urban oasis, this is by far the best yoga studio in SF! Clean, airy and sunny space where you can see leaves glistening while flowing thru postures in a heated setting. Instructors are top-notch, most notably Leslie G, Tom L, Tanya C and Martin.

My very favorite studio in the city. Beautiful space -- huge windows that look out over beautiful green trees. Skylight that brings in natural light. Heated vinyasa yoga with wonderful teachers and great music. I've made some of my closest friends from the studio; very nice crowd. Favorite teachers are Anna Hughes, Erin Gilmore, Leslie Gleser, and Tanya Clark. They offer classes in a smaller, non-heated room for beginners and/or advanced students who are focusing on the basics and alignment. I've tried classes across the country and have not found any studio that I like more than Yoga Flow. They also have beautiful spaces in Noe Valley and on Ocean Ave. One opening soon in Walnut Creek, too!

I am a long time customer of yoga flow, I used to go regularly when I lived in San Francisco. I had planned on arriving to the class 8 minutes prior, my typically time which i always sat around on Instagram while we waited to start. Once I arrived I found out that half the street has construction going on and the usual parking is not available today. Unfortunately because of this I ended up arriving only two minutes EARLY before class started. The class door was already closed and Jeannie had started the class early. There was no one at the front desk to help me rent a yoga mat, which is something I always did when I’m out of town. There is 10 other students in the class, which is much smaller than their typical class which can go up to 25 or 30 people and a busy day. Jeannie, the instructor saw me without a yoga mat, and I was still attempting to do the yoga poses. My hope was that she would see me without a yoga mat and offer me one at some point. She did not. She did not even look my direction, not one time. My knees ended up hurting so badly from doing the poses on the hard wood flows that I had to stop five minutes before the class ended. My knees are now in so much pain and I feel very dissatisfied. All the people in the class was also looking at the interaction between the instructor and I… and I feel like they all felt bad for me. I felt bad for me. I arrived on time, my intention was to rent a yoga mat which takes 20 seconds to do. And I felt totally ignored. If Jeannie is the main instructor, I encourage you all that are interested in coming to the class to arrive at least 15 minutes early because you’re not sure if she’s ever gonna start much earlier.

I loveeeee Yoga Flow. They are my fav studio in SF and over the years I have been a fan of several of the teachers, in particular: Erin Gilmore. I would join her 6am friday classes and sunday evening classes, they started my day right and ended my weekend beautifully. The light that comes through that gorgeous studio is so unique too. If you are in SF looking for a fabulous yoga session, this is your place!! Thank you YF <3

The teachers at Yoga Flow are amongst the best in the entire country. Having practiced in New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles (arguably the three epicenters of western yoga in America), I like to think I have a good understanding of quality yoga. The yoga provided at Yoga Flow is of the highest quality. Legendary teachers, inclusive community, beautiful studio... I can not say enough good things about this place. Thanks for all the phenomenal classes!

The studio really packs in the classes here, especially at peak times. It's gotten so crowded that I've felt like my neighbors were going to accidentally hit me, or me them, because we were so close. The locker area is also quite cramped. The instructors I've had were fine.

I’ve been searching for a studio since I moved to SF and I think I’ve found it! The space is beautiful, with tons of natural light. I appreciated that, although it was a difficult athletic class, it still had an air of traditional spiritual yoga (Om chanting, Yoga Nidra, mantras etc). Tom was a great, technical, and knowledgeable instructor. As a former yoga teacher myself I was very impressed by the entire experience.

You're going here and paying the prices (~$22 drop in) you're paying because they have a killer lineup of instructors. Studio is underwhelming, but the lack of aesthetics will soon before forgotten when class starts because you're going to get your butt kicked. They heat the studio and during peak hours (6:15/8 pm week nights and 9/11 am weekends) the classes are packed! Arrive early to get a spot of your choice. For times mentioned do yourself a favor and register in advance to ensure you get into class. The only other studio on par with the talent you'll find at YFSF is LoveStoryYoga in the Mission. Check them out if you're on that side of town. Most classes are listed as all levels, but go to the small studio if you're a newbie so you're not overwhelmed. The large studio sequencing and skills of other students can be discouraging so take it slow. It's not about touching your toes, it's about the journey on the way down, but you might forget that if you're in the peak hour classes.

This studio wa my favorite, especially the 6:15 classes. However lately all of the evening classes are given to one instructor Anna K, who is just awful. The instructor is suppose to teach advanced class but is teaching it as intro class, does not stop talking (seriously if she has nothing to say she just repeats "very good") and her poses are too easy for advanced class. I use to recommend this studio to everyone, but now I warn not to go as you will be disappointed. AS well as they are probably cutting down on the heating costs so promised 85 is now more like 70 degrees.
