A Truly Exceptional Experience with Shanti Kat: Whimsy, Comfort, and Community
Five stars are simply not enough for Shanti Kat's Yoga and Breathwork class. The magic begins the moment you approach: you enter from the side yard, and the transition instantly feels like you've arrived at a serene, whimsical fairy garden—a truly beautiful and calming start to the practice.
Shanti Kat is an amazing instructor whose guidance is insightful, compassionate, and perfectly paced. She creates an immediate sense of trust and warmth that allows you to fully relax into the experience. The studio itself has great energy and is super comfortable, serving as a true sanctuary.
What really sets this space apart is the amazing setup and attention to detail. Shanti has thought of absolutely everything for maximum comfort: soft blankets, soothing eye pillows, and even new yoga mats. You literally just need to show up!
Beyond the core classes, Shanti is dedicated to creating a rich community experience. She offers several different styles of classes, ensuring there’s something for every need, and frequently partners with other wellness practitioners, such as sound bath instructors, to offer truly unique and deeply healing events.
Highly, highly recommend Shanti Kat’s classes to everyone seeking a welcoming, magical, and well-equipped space to practice.

Kat is a wonderful yoga teacher. Her classes incorporate breath work with traditional yoga poses, which adds to the benefit of each. Every class has its own internal coherence so that from the first pose to the last there is a sense of working towards a clear goal. She offers sensible, clear modifications to poses so that I always feel safe in her class. I am happy to recommend Kat to anyone at any level of a yoga practice.

I’ve been attending Kat’s yoga and breathwork classes for years, and I can confidently say she is one of the most skilled, intuitive, and deeply knowledgeable instructors in the Napa Valley.

Kat brings a rare combination of expertise, compassion, and insight to every class. Her credentials and training are top-tier, but what truly sets her apart is her intuitive sense of what her students need—especially during more complicated or stressful times in life. There have been moments when she seemed to know exactly what I was carrying emotionally, and her guidance helped me work through it with breath, movement, and presence.

Over the last two years, her breathwork classes, in particular, have been transformational for me. They’ve helped me release long-held tension and emotions I didn’t even realize I was holding onto. I’ve learned so much from her about how to connect more deeply with myself, both physically and emotionally.

If you’re looking for a powerful, supportive, and gifted teacher who truly walks her talk, I highly recommend Kat. She’s a gem and, in my opinion, one of the very best instructors in the Napa Valley.

Lifechanging! For anyone, especially over fifty Kat's Soma breath is amazing. As an athlete I thought I knew how to breathe but I never used it to heal, relieve stress, or many other problems. This is not a high impact yoga class. Even though in tandem with any training regimen there are extra benefits. You come away as if you had taken pure oxygen from a canister. How about the thought of training your breathing to go into problem areas of your body and feel better afterwards? Kat’s technique is gentle and calming (motherlike). You should try this class at least once and see what I mean when I say, Just Outstanding!

I highly recommend Kat and the services she provides. She is an exemplary yoga teacher due to her knowledge of the body as well as the craft. I have also enjoyed her breath work teachings and have found them extremely helpful in healing high stress and cortisol levels. After my heath declined two years ago I started attending her breath work classes regularly and my immune system improved drastically. Overall my mental, physical and spiritual health improved. Anytime I’m able to catch a yoga or breath work class with her, I feel an improvement in my overall health. Kat is also a beautiful person, she truly cares, wants to help others and I can’t recommend her enough.

I have been taking classes from Kat for many years. Like all yoga classes, there are poses that improve strength and flexibility. Her classes, though, are unique in that they have a focus on the breath. As a respiratory therapist with a specialty in physiology, I can attest to the power of the breath to do whatever you need at the time; relax, energize, increase lung capacity, and more. She is a wonderful teacher, kind and attentive. I attend her classes at Healthquest Fitness Center, but also at her Studio, on Zoom and Instagram. You ALWAYS feel better after Kat’s classes!

Her mix of breath and kundalini, Pranalini, is approachable for anyone and is life-changing … no gimmicks here, just breath work that fills your life with positivity and helps get rid of negative emotions and stress…and her voice is so soothing, it will relax you instantly :) I’ve done Kat’s class for almost 10 years now and when I can’t get there in person, I utilize her YouTube channel.
