I started with Yoga Jai Ma in August of 2023. It has been a transformative experience. Every Yoga Jai Ma class participant and instructor I have met have been wonderfully inclusive, friendly, accepting, patient and interested in each other's well being. It's become a community of kindred spirits for me. I had never taken yoga before Jai Ma. If you want to have a wonderful experience in practicing yoga in a supportive, restoring environment, this is it. Don't be afraid of joining a class because you think you are not "at the right level". All of the instructors I know welcome first timers, newbies with a supportive attitude and great patience. They are interested in the student achieving the results they are looking for, not expecting results on a time table. You will not find a better community to practice yoga than Yoga Jai Ma. Huge standing ovation and shoutout to Nita (the owner) for having developed Yoga Jai Ma into what it is today!

I’m so grateful I found Yoga Jai Ma’s prenatal yoga classes! I had attended prenatal yoga at other studios (and YouTube) during previous pregnancies, and it was all fine and glad it got me moving gently. When I was searching for a local class during this pregnancy, the only one that aligned with my schedule was prenatal yoga at Jai Ma on Monday evenings. It said it included a group discussion session beforehand, which I was a little apprehensive about, as I had already been through 2 previous “birth classes” for other babies and didn’t feel I needed more. Oh how wrong I was. I signed up to give it a try anyway, and the group discussion is NOT some clinical worker telling you how to swaddle a newborn. It is actually a grounded, wise, trained, caring, professional, strong woman guiding us into motherhood. Each week has a different theme that is actually useful to birth and postpartum, and things I have never learned during previous pregnancies that I wish I had. Shelley really listens to everyone’s thoughts, and makes sure we all feel included and heard. It is because of this class and Shelley that I feel confident and eager to birth my baby unmedicated, however, there are plenty of moms in the class who have different birth plans and wishes, and they are all welcomed and supported. We’ve all learned new things and can all leave the class confident and empowered to grow into our new selves, comfortable that we’ve become a part of this sisterhood, and eager to return for postpartum yoga or birth story processing!

I've been a member of Yoga Jai Ma since 2019, and will continue to be a member for as long as I can. I've come to love the yoga vibes here and the experienced and talented teachers, especially Lisa. She teaches the Deep Stretch class on Friday mornings. What a treat! The adjustments she does during and at the end of class are just what my body needs to move into a pose. I'm so happy that Yoga Jai Ma is a big part of the yoga community.

I started taking Shelley’s yoga classes almost halfway through my pregnancy, and they have been absolutely amazing in preparing me for birth both mentally and physically. It’s great being in a community of other soon to be moms that share similar values for their births. I wanted my partner to prepare for birth with me as well, so we took Shelley’s 4 week birth preparation class and that was great in helping us feel as prepared as we possibly can, and it was way more in depth than any hospital class could have gone. With Shelley as our birth doula as well, we will well and truly have the best support possible! She does it all, and we are extremely grateful for her.

We’ve been attending birth classes with Shelley, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the guidance and support she’s provided. Her energy and wisdom have created a comfortable and empowering space for my wife and me to prepare for this journey. Shelley has a unique way of balancing intuitive insights with scientific knowledge, which has helped us feel both informed and grounded. Her approach has prepared us for the unknowns of birth, giving us confidence to trust ourselves and embrace the process. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly inspiring doula!

I've been attending the prenatal yoga classes at Yoga Jai Ma for the last month and have loved every class. This seems to be the only studio in the area that offers 3 prenatal classes a week for an affordable rate. The instructors are fantastic and genuine in their approach. They offer modifications since women are at different states in their pregnancy, which I appreciated being in my third trimester. Monday night classes include a discussion at the start of class which is a great way to prepare emotional for your labor too. I highly recommend checking them out!

The classes I take at Yoga Jai Ma are all fantastic! Each yoga teacher makes the experience special, with music, soothing voices and excellent instruction. The online classes are great. I feel like I'm at the studio, even though we are all in our own homes. I've been taking classes daily since the COVID epidemic has begun and I have become much less stressed and more flexible as a result. I highly recommend Yoga Jai Ma!!!

I’ve taken both the regular prenatal yoga and the birth warrior classes and in a word — phenomenal. The instructors are knowledgeable, compassionate, and inspiring. I’ve left every class feeling so physically and emotionally fulfilled both by the yoga itself and the community the instructors foster.

A small but lovely and very welcoming studio that I look forward to coming to every week! The instructors I’ve had are beyond fantastic and helpful, it’s easy to sign up for classes, and not too terribly pricey. If you’re looking for a new yoga home or are thinking about starting, please come here!

Yoga Jai Ma studio in Rancho Bernardo is a hidden gem. The owner, Nita, is charming, sweet and leads the most wonderful classes. All of the teachers and workshops I’ve done here have been pure bliss, whether I needed a great workout, an awesome stretch or a relaxing, calming experience. I highly recommend Yoga Jai Ma for all of your yoga needs including teacher trainings, workshops, kids yoga, pregnancy classes, etc.

This yoga studio is on the second floor of the plaza. It’s such a cozy looking studio. I love practicing yoga here. The teachers are always welcoming and accomediating to each students needs. Also, if the teachers have time after class, they help you get into challenging yoga poses. The staff teaches from the heart here.
I also took yoga teacher training here. It was the best experience of my life. It gave me a new prespective on the way I think and feel about life. Nita is such a caring mentor. She is also really nice owner. I would recommend anyone to practice yoga here.

I am a recent graduate of the Akasha yoga teacher training at Yoga Jai Ma. The training changed my life! The flexibility of the program never made me feel overwhelmed and I graduated with full knowledge and confidence to dive right into teaching. I never expected that. I was blown away by the support I received and all the knowledge that it provided me with. Nita teaches from the heart. You can feel it in her Yoga classes and in this training. She is a wonderful mentor that doesn't just stop after you graduate. I met such wonderful people that I am so honored to call friends for life. The cost is reasonable compared to a lot of trainings out there and the payment plan offered was perfect for me and my family. If you are considering it, I say go for it! It will be one of the best decisions you've ever made!

Connection, community, union: these are just a few of the words to describe this wonderful studio. Whether you're in search of a hard vinyasa, gentle, hatha, restorative, and/or variations of all (and prenatal too!), this studio is for you. And, if you're not feeling like asanas, just come and enjoy, let go, and breathe. No judgement. No worrying that someone else is "flexy" and looking at you. Yes, it's ok to be flexy but this studio is open and welcoming to all. I found the studio by accident about 4 years ago (it was next to my dentist and senior services) and knew immediately I had found a wonderful home/sanctuary. Full disclosure: I took teacher training here 2 years ago to enhance my practice. It was one of the best things I've ever done. I'm 65, and love my fellow yogis - irrelevant of their age. Do yourself and your loved ones a favor: visit Yoga Jai Ma. I know it will be your home too.

I have been going to Yoga Jai Ma for a few years and it is a fantastic studio. It isn't corporate, but rather feels like a second home where your yoga practice is supported and nurtured. I take yin, hatha, and vinyasa here and the teachers are amazing and offer growth from any level. Namaste!

This is a great Studio tucked away in Rancho Bernardo Plaza next to Starbucks. The classes are from beginner level to advanced and has a variety of flows including gentle yoga with aromatherapy which is one of my favorites. It is more about having a sense of self and more about the breath and meditation which is just another reason why I like this studio.

So glad to have found a yoga studio that embodies what yoga is about, harmony of mind, body, and spirit. The classes range from Restorative, Gentle and Hatha to Vinyasa and Kundalini. There are wonderful pre-natal classes as well. The studio is clean and inviting and the teachers are amazing! Thank you, Yoga Jai Ma!

Yoga means union. Yoga Jai Ma exemplifies this true meaning by offering classes/environment that focus on balancing mind and body, reducing stress, and building community. I started taking classes here in December and felt welcome immediately. I love the variety of classes because some days I need a work out (Vinyasa), some days I need to build strength and grounding (Hatha), and other days I just need to chill (Gentle/Restorative).

I did the yoga teacher training here at Yoga Jai Ma and can't say enough good things about it. I felt that I really got a good grounding in all aspects of yoga from my training. I am able to teach classes to a wide range of abilities and update them frequently. You really learn how to create a class through this training, not just go through the motions of a few sequences. If you are thinking about becoming a yoga instructor, definitely check out the training here.
Even if you don't want to do the teacher training, this is truly a community studio. Teachers get to know you and your ability, classmates are very encouraging and it is a studio that really does cater to every age and ability. A rare find in San Diego.

I love Yoga Jai Ma. I love the Hatha classes, especially the Hatha with Aromatherapy class with Nita. I did my yoga teacher training here also which I recommend to anyone wanting to deepen their knowledge and practice. Even if you don't want to teach, it makes such a beautiful impact on one's life. It is one of the best choices I have made, to practice there and do my training there. There is a beauitful energy at this studio and all the instructors add their own yoga flare and beauty. Love, peace, and kindness flow through this studio. I can't wait to go back now that the holidays are over.
