Lovely neighborhood studio. I’ve taken around 10 classes here and always had a wonderful experience. Never too crowded. Cassidy, Annabelle & Sara have all been wonderful teachers.

Excellent Location, excellent staff. Excellent classes. Plenty of street parking. Came to this location for a yin yoga class and I left feeling like a brand-new person. Class was very small and the instructor was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend this location to friends and family.

Yoga Mayu is an absolute gem! This is the best yoga studio I have been to in San Francisco, and quite frankly, the only one I want to practice at.

The space itself is clean, simple, and beautiful. The ambiance is calm, pleasant, and unpretentious. Every teacher at Yoga Mayu is well-qualified and experienced, and they each bring a different perspective and specialty to their classes. I've taken many different classes here, and continue to be impressed with the quality of teachers and collective knowledge and expertise at this studio.

The classes are a great size (maybe 30 people at max capacity, usually less), which means you actually get personal attention from the teacher (not an assistant/other student) and the moderate class sizes allow each teacher to to get to know the students and actually help them continue to progress.

This is also a great studio for beginners or those new to yoga as their Yoga 101 classes are very thoughtful and really establish a strong foundation.

Yoga Mayu is an oasis, and a small, female-run local business which I am proud to support, especially given the exceptional quality of the services provided. If you haven't taken a class there yet, I highly recommend it!

I took 7:30 am class with Mary. Overall, I did not gain quality practice and do not recommend this studio, especially the beginner students who are not familiar with yoga.
Still, there are some positive elements that the studio offers. So I will first share what I appreciated about the studio, then move on to the points on what made my experience here not so fulfilling.

What I appreciated about the studio
- The studio is spacious and beautiful.
- The location of the studio is at a convenient spots with street parking.
- They offer student discount drop in price ($17)

What they can improve on
- While the studio did not have wall mirror that students can see themselves and watch other students to mimic asanas when they are lost, teacher did not provide examples with demonstrations. This will be especially challenging for students who are taking the class for the first time. ( I was taking an all level class)

-The flow of the class was missing. For example, transition from one asana to another was not instructed. I found it challenging to stay in pose (especially inversions) without proper transitions that can help me to move from one pose to another mindfully.

-Breathing instruction was off because it was not consistent. During Sun salutations, Mary instructed breathing with counting but some inhales she counted too fast and others too slow. Sometimes, right and left side were on different counting. So it was extremely difficult to depend on the instructor's guiding on breathing.

- The instructor had pilates movements during class. She had us do core workout with crunches... This may be something other students enjoy. But I personally don't find it useful since I wanted to focus on mindful movement in yoga. I would have not signed up for this class if only the description of class actually said they are incorporating pilates in the class on the website. But it did not. When the class doesn't match what it is in description, it gives wrong ideas to the students.

I hope this comments reach the instructor and studio so they can better their teaching eventually. At the end of the day, they have a beautiful studio space and the mission described on their website says they do care about teaching great practice in yoga.

If you want to learn yoga the correct way, go to Brenna's 101 classes. She is such a good teacher who explains everything in an excellent way. I thought I had done yoga before, turns out I pretty much didn't know what I was doing.

The studio in it's self is a small, personal, welcoming place. I love the classes here :)

Tried to do the Monday 12pm class today and no one showed up not even the instructor. Disappointed and wasted time I could have been in a class somewhere else.

I've been meaning to update my review for a while now. Jody's vinyasa class is awesome! My friend and try to go regularly, at least once a week. It's hard work, but well worth the effort :) It definitely gets busy though since it's such a popular class, so be prepared for that. It also helps to have a block and maybe a blanket or strap handy

The One Valley studio for Yoga Mayu is wonderful. The space is warm and inviting and the teachers are knowledgeable. I was able to get the new student deal which allowed to try a variety of classes and get a feel for the place! Sadly I no longer work near the studio but I am hoping to drop in when I can.

Yoga Mayu is an amazing sanctuary. The teachers, students, space and energy is down to earth, unpretentious, and open, with the focus on the yoga practice and its physical, mental, and emotional benefits.

I love the morning classes. The early morning boot camp was a game-changer for me - it allowed me to be more focused during my day and deepened my practice and commitment to self-care.

Much gratitude to the teachers whose guidance has helped me both on and off the mat.
