Incredible local yoga studio with strong community feel. Incredible teachers who inspire and challenge, plus two studio spaces so lots of options for classes. There are tons of great community events like song circles, figure drawing, and ecstatic dance. Truly one of a kind place.

Living in the raciat USA, I understood that they always judge me. I thought I carry the burden one more time, and consistently go to this place "yogasoup" do some yoga, but try being very cautious connecting with them, so that maybe after 2 years of consistently beinv there, they see I am a good person and for them to br my friends.
Cameron was, from day 1, believing that he needs to teach me American culture. They talked behind my back a lot, I was aware of it, but I didnt care. Are they more racist than other places in SB? Not really.
In the end, Benji decided to let me know in a polite way that I am taking too much space in the lobby. When I confronted him, he reacted by saying that they have been gossiping about my brown eyes checking out white women's yoga pants. It is ironic, for people who know me, that I have understood that American judgement especially hippies go so deep that, even though they do the worst of the worst themselves, and even though I may do many good things for them, even if I do one wrong thing one day for 2 seconds, they are only capable of seeing the wrong and forget all about the good, and thus I need to be perfect not to be judged by them by race, thus I have been training myself to look on the floor and never even look up. I was literally going out, not looking at, not talking with their women, so that god forbid,,they do not judge. Having that said, considering that it is known to many people that I entirely avoid looking at white women, except perhaps an accidental one 1 second a day. They have been harrassing me by their looks for 2 years so that they can catch any moment that I may have accidentally looked at a white woman's yoga pants. Regardless, it turns out that that was not Benji's issue, and he explored that option only to embarrass me, which iwasnt because I know myself. The issue was that they believe that I might have eaten too many free prunes, and my laptop have used their electricity and they are not fond of that.
Regardless, I tried to be present everysay for 2 years in this place, doing some yoga, and hoping that after two years of being present, American hearts finally stop beinb judgemental and see the many good things about me, yet they still proved that they are only capable of seeing a few flaws.

When I first stepped into Yoga Soup in 2018, I knew I didn’t have to go anywhere else! This place is more than just a yoga studio. It is a community full of wonderful unique and like-minded folks! If you’re looking to connect deeper within yourself and local community, this is a place to commit to. It’s amazing how my yoga practice has transformed over the years… There’s so much variety in classes offered and so many opportunities to explore the mind, body, and spirit. Yoga soup is a gem.

Yoga soup is the most kind and beautiful community studio (and so much more than that). I did my first trial month of unlimited classes and stayed ever since, it’s a place that keeps me coming back with the amazing people, classes, events, offerings, and just the highest quality energy! I now have the joy of occasionally working behind the desk and it’s my favorite. They have so many various classes and super special events that are not to be missed. I recommend this place with a big smile to everyone😊🌷

I have been consistently attending Yoga Soup classes for about 2 years now and I recommend this studio to all of my friends in the area. I especially enjoy the quantity, variety, and quality of class offering available everyday of the week. The staff is super friendly and very intentional about creating a safe, clean space for all.

I love this sanctuary. If you’re looking for a space to feel immediately nourished and at home while taking yoga classes and connecting with the local community this is the space ! The teachers become friends , the space is infused with love , there’s always amazing locally sourced food from the farmers market and a delicious daily soup all by donation !
Yoga soup was immediately a refuge for me when I moved to town and I could not recommend the classes or space more .
There’s also a great weekly drawing classes , singing circles, and ecstatic dance ! ❤️

Yoga Soup is so much more than a yoga studio. This community hub is an integral part of my weekly routine. Here I am nourished, educated, and connected in ways I can't describe. There is a class for everyone - all bodies, all backgrounds, all abilities.

This Yoga studio has many areas to experience several classes, the lobby has a retail, that sales yoga clothing and all the things that people will need to do yoga, great selection of books and more to discover by walking through the front doors anyone can found a gift to be given.
The studio has sitting areas outside and inside where people connect before the yoga classes.
The Yoga instructors and front desk team are very nice.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this negative review. I have been attending a variety of events here since it's opening all of them more or less positive, meaning educational, uplifting, and most importantly healing. Starting 8 yrs. ago I began attending the Thursday evening sound baths facilitated by Anahita Holden regularly. As sound baths became more popular during the pandemic and the availability of a vaccine came , more and more different facilitators from far and near offered their take on the ritual.
This posting and rating concerns one of them : Shane Chunephisal .He unfortunately and unlike any of the other sound bath facilitors who cap the events at 25-28 people max, having to do with the space available; he dose not have a cap and is fine with packing them in like sardines, creating an unhealthy environment. Upon my early arrival I laid out my mat close to a wall for personal reasons of needing to not be completely closed in by people. He told me I needed to change the position of my mat because he had sold 40 spots and we all needed to line up for the maximal use of space. I tried to reason with him that my mat next to a wall, not interfering with anyone was where I felt comfortable / safe and needed to be. He appeared to not have either listened to anything I had to ask, not understood, nor cared. He was adamant that my mat had to be inline with his instructions. I asked him if he was seriously going to argue with me about the angle of my mat? As he went on to repeat his instructions I realized this was not going to be the healing atmosphere I'd thought I had signed up for when the instructor had so little ability to listen, empathize, and let go of what was from my perspective an unreasonable and asinine demand Then how on earth was he to channel sound healing?? So I left.
In my humble opinion Shane Chunephisal does not qualify as a sound bath healer.

Yoga Soup is one of Santa Barbara’s treasures. “Yoga studio” doesn’t cover it. The space provides community, connection, and healing for those that are open to it. I’m so thankful for each and every person involved at the studio for making it what it is. You should definitely check it out. Even if yoga isn’t your thing, the shop has the most wonderful array of curated jewelry, books, instruments, snacks, clothing, and more! I feel welcomed in this space, and look forward to continuing my practice here. Thanks for everything!!

Yoga soup has changed my life for the better. The people are so kind, the community is so warm, and the classes have such a nice range. Yoga soup has made my experience in Santa Barbara and it would be difficult to leave this studio. I have so much gratitude for this establishment! Thank you for providing yummy soup and fresh fruits and veggies after class - it makes the community even stronger. I highly recommend checking it out!

This is way more than a yoga studio. Yoga Soup is a unique experiment in every aspect of yoga. It's an exceptionally curated book and art shop with comfortable seating and nice beverages. The primary yoga studio is inside the shop, separated by two big doors. There's another studio with a separate entrance a hundred feet from the shop.
Both studios are thriving. I visited in 2019 and 2021 from Memphis. I was in town with some other dads and our children, who were in surf camp during the day. So we made Yoga Soup our home base, working on laptops and reading between classes. Right across the street is an awesome juice bar and there are several good restaurants around too. The variety of classes they offer is refreshing. The eponymous "Yoga Soup" class with Eddy is indicative of the studio as a whole -- eclectic, fun and full of great humans.

Much more than a yoga studio. A place where we feel welcomed, relaxed and loved. Besides the great classes and events offered 7 days a week, they have a variety of yoga props, amazing books and little gifts. The best part? You don't need to be a yogi to enjoy this little retreat; go, make yourself a cup of tea and relax lounging inside or in the lovely garden.

If you are grieving the loss of a partner, come to Yoga Soup. When my partner died in 2014, I was devastated. During and after the funeral, all hell broke loose in his family, the craziest things happened. After the chaos died down, my emotions were stuck for a long time. I soon realized I needed to breathe and to move to let the emotions come. The teachers at Yoga Soup saved me. They are well-trained and serious about their craft, but also loving and kind. You can start where you are. Just breathe. The body-mind connection is real.

I've been going to Eddie's class for years and love it! It's great for beginners and experience alike and is somehow the go-to class for hesitant boyfriends who are brand new to yoga. I also recommend the resistance stretching classes for those who want to go deeper. Beautiful studio, a great place to sit and have tea. There is a lending library as well as lots of great books for sale. See you there:)
