Karina led an awesome morning class at The Maybourne Hotel pool with fabulous views. Had a wonderful unique experience. Booked last minute when I saw it was offered as a fun thing to do for vacation and so glad I did. It was challenging but fun. Karina has a great personality and it's obvious to see she can adapt to any class size 1:1, small group or large and make the experience enjoyable for all levels, including beginners. Very impressed. I will definitely remember and would do it again in the future.

This was my first time paddle boarding AND doing SUP Yoga! I was both nervous and excited getting out on the water. Sarah was great at giving instructions and setting expectations so when we started I felt more empowered than afraid. I was a little slower and cautious when paddling out around the marina, but Sarah made sure to keep an eye on me and directed me how to maneuver around 🙂 Once we started the yoga … wow! I love the water and love yoga so this was the best way to combine the two! It was incredibly calming and serene. Sarah’s cues were very clear and I had no trouble flowing through the poses. I even surprised myself with the courage I had to try wheel and a headstand … on a paddle board floating in the water! 😮 I don’t know what came over me, but I was confident and curious enough to give it a go! None of us fell in and we all had a great time! Highly recommend this- even if it’s your first time! I think you’ll surprise yourself in what you’re capable of! AND you’re in great hands with Sarah- she definitely cares and has a passion for this!

I took a class here with Sarah, and it was amazing! This was my second time doing SUP yoga ever, and I was really nervous about falling into the water. Sarah immediately put my fears at ease. She shows you how to paddle before you set out to paddle around the water. It was so peaceful paddling by the boats that are parked in the marina. Then once you get your bearings on your paddleboard, you anchor down and start the yoga class. Sarah was great at giving cues so you didn't need to constantly look over towards her. At the end, I felt really comfortable on the board. Maybe next time I'll even be able to do a headstand. :) Highly recommend to everyone -- even if you've never done paddle boarding before!!
She also takes photos and posts them to the FB page, so you don't have to worry about bringing your phone with you in order to get photos!

First time taking a SUP yoga class and it was so much fun! Took a class with Sarah and she made it look so easy, but it will definitely test your balance! During the 90 minute class, you'll spend the first 30 minutes paddling around the marina, then the remaining 60 minutes is the yoga. It was a cloudy day, but it was still a great workout and I felt very peaceful on the water. Definitely recommend taking a class with YOGAqua anytime you're in LA! :)

This was my first class and it was simply an amazing experience. The paddle boarding and yoga aspects were fun and being on the water was super relaxing. Even saw dolphins today. Five stars to the instructors too. Super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Thanks a bunch! You have to try this class. I'll certainly be back!

Recently completed a beach bootcamp workout with YogAgua. I thoroughly enjoyed the workout. Courtney was encouraging, super friendly and corrected my form when needed. Would highly recommend.

Wish I could rate higher. While visiting a friend in LA, I had a day where she wasn't available. I booked this class solo after googling "scenic yoga LA" and finding Yogaqua. Absolutely serene, beautiful location, quiet atmosphere, beautiful sunrise hour at 9am, closer to 2 hours than 90 mins for setup and which I appreciated, and the added workout of constantly balancing was awesome. Had an amazing, relaxing time, thank you!! 11/10

My niece bought a paddle board Yoga class for the two of us as a birthday present for me. Sarah, our instructor, and the owner, is not only patient and knowledgeable, but sweet and funny too. She made us laugh and learn! Also taking great photos as she taught us. The most fun exercising ever!

This has been my saving grace after moving to LA. I couldn’t be happier with my experience with them! They were even able to modify yoga when I was pregnant

While searching online for a yoga class to take during my brother's Bachelor party in Venice, I found YOGAqua and was drawn to it for the unique integration of yoga with the outdoors. I contacted Sarah for coordinating our group. She was informative, welcoming, and accommodating. Our skill levels varied, but everyone was able to follow along and we had a great time (even with a few of us falling overboard)! Her assistant, Leora, was also very friendly and even took pictures for us to capture our special event. If you're looking for a unique way to practice yoga and get outdoors, I'd recommend giving YOGAqua a try!

Great experience! Well organized, strong instructors. Moving your yoga practice to the board really shows you where your balancing weaknesses are!!

Almost by accident, I stumbled upon Yogaqua. Now, every week, I am down in Marina del Rey, out on the water with the SUP Yoga tribe. SUP yoga is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Every session, we paddle for about 30 minutes and then we do a yoga session for an hour. The practice challenges the mind and body in unique ways, from maintaining balance and pushing the physical limits of the body, to overcoming fears and conquering the mind.
Yoga? On a paddleboard? Sounds crazy, right? Trust me, the board is more stable than you think. Plus, you are anchored, so you don’t float away during practice. Take it from a rookie; my balance is not so great, although I’m slowly improving, class by class. I only fall in when I’m doing headstands, so you’re probably safe if you try this yourself for the first time! Honestly, I fall in because I push myself to the max and I let go of all the fear I feel. Part of what I love about SUP Yoga is the water is there to break my fall… not concrete or wood. The water removes that mental block, allowing me to release my inner self and soar to new heights. Whether you are a beginner or a lifelong yogi, I hope you are able to try SUP yoga at some point in your life.
Sarah Tiefenthaler, the founder and owner of Yogaqua, created an amazing atmosphere. Everyone is incredibly warm and welcoming, greeting you with a big smile and warm heart. The classes blend mindfulness, strength training, and flexibility, as well as the most important component – fun. The whole combination leaves me feeling invigorated and refreshed, strong and independent, accomplished and Zen. SUP yoga is my way of re-centering. It’s a time to focus on myself as a whole and explore my limits, mentally and physically, while surrounding myself with positivity, friendship, nature, and sunshine.

Sarah and the entire staff at YogAqua are absolutely amazing. From the very first hello, they felt more like family than newly met friends. I completed the YogAqua SUP Teacher Training certification and I can not say enough great things about the training. The course was very well taught and organized, surpassing all my expectations. It was very evident that Sarah had put an incredible amount of love into her training course. The manual provided is well written and easy to understand. The training was very well balanced with a great blend of water safety, paddling and anchoring techniques and yoga sequencing. Sarah also brought in experts to assist in the training with the water safety and yoga portion of the course. I have never worked in such an optimistic, uplifting and supportive environment. I came in from Canada for the training but I will definitely be back for a class every time I am in California!

What can I say?!? What Sarah has created with YOGAqua is nothing short of genius. Not only is the class a challenge but it such a special way to spend a morning or afternoon. Her and all of her instructors are so lovely and help everyone at every level. They make you feel super confident in your skills and give you a little hand clap if you fall in ;) The way she has combined the sport of paddle board with yoga is incredible and the class is without a doubt one of the best in LA both from a yoga standpoint and from an experience stand point. If you haven't tried a class yet, do it and I promise you'll be going back again and again and again!

I have this addiction to doing stuff in the ocean so I'm really not surprised to add YOGAqua to my list of activities. When I first heard about it, I thought about how I struggle just doing yoga on land and that it would be a real challenge to do it on a paddleboard. Well, its a struggle but it's not like you have to be a yoga master to be able to do it. It's a fun challenge that tests your core balance and strength. My first time was in the rain, it wasn't cold but I didn't want to fall in and I didn't!!! The second class was a nice sunny day and I got a little encouragement to go for a handstand(like I can really do them on land). I got onto my hands and then down I went! Best thing about falling in this class is that it's pretty hard to get hurt. I used to drive from woodland hills just for this class. It's LA and there are probably 100 yoga studios between Woodland Hills and marina del rey but this class is different. I've since then moved to Marina del rey and have become a regular. They're an incredible group of people! If it's your first time, you'll get a short questionnaire finding out how knowledgeable you are in paddling and yoga and teach you everything you need to know if you have never been on a board. They switch things up and gives you things to try for all abilities. If you've done yoga before, I don't have to explain the feeling you have after a yoga class. The only difference here is that you feel a little more accomplished and get extra relaxation during your Shavasana when you're floating! Whether you're just in town for a few days or you live local, it's definitely worth doing! Hope to see you out there!

I attended YogAqua for teacher training in March and absolutely loved it! Sarah the owner is very knowledgeable and clearly put a lot of love into her training program. I didn't want the four day course to go by as quickly as I felt it did but I would not change the experience for anything! If you are looking to get certified I would highly recommend taking it with YogAqua. I have never been part of a more supportive environment where not once did I feel uncomfortable or inferior to anyone else. Sarah is a great instructor who will spend as much time with you as needed to make sure you feel confident on the water!

I cannot say enough great things about the YOGAqua and Sarah along with her team. This was my first experience with paddle boards and I am not good at yoga on the ground. They were patient with me and my friend and walked us through the basics of paddle boarding and then when the time for the yoga parts came, I was AMAZED. Sarah was even able to get me to stand on my head!! I couldn't believe it. They are supportive and cheerful. They supply you with everything that you need for the class. And much to my surprise, this was the best core workout that I had completed in ages. If you live nearby, it is definitely something that you should incorporate into your weekly workout regimen and if you are just visiting L.A. it is bound to give you kickass stories to go home with. Not to mention an enormous sense of achievement. This is a MUST DO!

Keep this rating in mind... as my very first yoga session and very first day attempting SUP was with YogAqua. And I loved it. It was not even slightly intimidating and Sarah, the instructor, made it fun for all levels. If you are looking for something novel to do in the LA area, sign up!

Jean and I enjoyed our YOGAqua sessions.
The whole experience of anchoring an SUP board
within a group and working like that was a lot of fun.
Each move on the board was a new challenge.
Thank you for a great time Sarah.

I LOVE YOGAqua! A friend on Facebook asked me if I was at some kind of YOGA WORLD because of all the fun photos I shared from my Yogaqua experience! I am a newbie yogi and I love working out in the studio but I love being on the water doing yoga just as much now. It is a different challenge for my body. I am in my element on the water and it is such an amazing feeling you get when the sun is touching your skin during the class and are always present throughout the class as at any moment you may or may not fall into the ocean. Sarah brings feel good vibes to each and every class she teaches. It’s as if you have been friends with her before. If I lived in LA I would go to class at least 2 times a week!
