This is such a wonderful yoga studio! Satya and Varsha who run it are so kind and truly invested in their students. Classes are welcoming for all levels, from beginner to advanced, and the community here is wonderful. I’ve felt both physically and mentally better since joining.
They also offer online options for busy schedules and sometimes host expert teachers, which is an amazing bonus. More than a studio, it’s a supportive community—I couldn’t recommend it more!

This place is not your typical flow class - strict attention is paid to the perfecting of poses in a slow methodical way. I get a tremendous workout here, but that is not the goal of Yoga Sukham - it is practicing Yoga in your own body and for a lifetime. Modification of the poses is offered for the aging body, like mine. Workshops are also offered from time to time and guest teachers. There is always something going on at Yoga Sukham.

I have been a practitioner of Iyengar yoga at another studio for 14 years and when I decided to enroll in an advanced studies program, YogaSukham was an easy choice. The depth of knowledge, experience and perspective of Satya and Varsha have helped me raise my level of awareness and understanding of all aspects of yoga to new heights. I am thoroughly enjoying my journey of discovery through their guidance and teachings.

Yogasukham is my favorite place to practice and one of the best places around here to practice authentic and traditional Iyengar yoga. it's been an incredible journey and amazing experience practicing yoga here. I'm forever grateful for the guidance providing by Satya sir and Varsha mam. My perspective on yoga has changed a lot and has greatly improved physically and mentally. They are super welcoming, generous and very supportive to each and everyone in the class. They are passionate , knowledgeable and helps us realize the true value of yoga. No matter what your level of yoga practice is, they make us feel comfortable and good, takes us through the process of slow learning and gives us the best experience possible. They offer in-person and online classes as well. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a place for the yoga practice. This studio is certainly a hidden gem.

I started my yoga journey with YogaSukham in 2022. I was researching yoga classes near me to help relive mental stress and for my overall mental, physical and emotional health, and YogaSukham came at the top of the list. Based on the Google and Yelp reviews , I decided to call them and speak with Satya.
Satya mentioned about the 14-day trial and renting of props without any commitment to continue with them. The 14-day trial went so well that I decided to continue practicing yoga with YogaSugkam and enrolled for their annual membership scheme.
All the teachers at YogaSukham are great, but based on the timings that work best for me, I have only been able to attend mostly Satya's and Varsha's classes. Both of them take the time to walk through the instructions, especially for beginners like me, and help us get into the pose if we are unable to, without leaving us to figure it by ourselves.
Another point that really struck me was the individual attention they give to all students, including people who join via Zoom by calling out names and giving cues, if needed. This really helps you feel connected to the class if you are online. Each class is 75 minutes long , and the focus of practice keeps changing every day making it even more exciting and interesting.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my classes at YogaSukham, and this sparked my interest to join for the Yoga Advanced Studies Program, YASP when YogaSukham was offering the same. The YASP program has really taken my understanding of Yoga to a different level and I am beginning to internalize Yoga much more than I had imagined.
I would highly recommend YogaSukham for anyone looking for Yoga classes especially in the Tri Valley area. Try them out and you won't regret!!!

The space itself is calming and welcoming, making it the perfect environment for deepening my practice. The training program offers a perfect blend of theory, practice, and personal growth. I'm so grateful to be part of this community!

I've been attending Yogasukham with my teen daughter for the past three years, and it's been a wonderful experience for both of us. The instructors provide detailed guidance, which has helped us not only relieve stress but also improve our overall flexibility. Each session deepens my understanding of yoga, showing me that it's more than just a skill—it's a continuous art of living.
Being part of the advanced studies program at Yogasukham has also been incredibly beneficial. It's given me the opportunity to reflect on myself and make meaningful improvements in my lifestyle. I'm grateful for everything I've learned here.

This yoga studio is special. It is the most supportive, nonjudgmental, comforting, and welcoming yoga studio I have ever been too. Although I joined Yoga Sukham only a few weeks back, I already am feeling a great deal of difference in my physical and mental health. I feel stronger in body, and more grounded in my heart and perspective.
I am in a stressful line of work. Yoga practices have provided a judgment free, peaceful, strengthening and fun zone that my body and mind were ready for.
Satya and Varsha, Thank you for running Yoga Sukham. This is more than a business...you are making a true difference in people's lives. Thank you 🙏🏽

YogaSukham is absolutely amazing! Varsha and Satya have the talent for working with individual abilities and needs within the class and gently encouraging adjustments to suit each person. We all have areas that we are better or worse at, but there is no feeling of competition within the class. The tailored advice allows each person to progress at their own speed and to their own capabilities. The added advantage of online lessons is a wonderful option to practice yoga everyday. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the instructors for their dedication, encouragement, understanding, time and effort. Yoga is an experience worth trying! I absolutely encourage you to book a session at YogaSukham!

Great studio. Iyengar / Alignment focused which means lots of feedback from the Instructors.
Not heated. Not a vigorous flow practice (that’s ‘on brand’ for most Iyengar studios). There IS a dedicated community of teachers and practitioners.
Follows a five day practice pattern that repeats - forward bends, back bends, twists, balance, standing. Friday mornings always restorative.

I have been practicing with Yoga Sukham for the past 3 months. The facility is very clean and well kept, and most importantly welcoming. I would recommend this place to anybody who is looking to practice yoga.

I joined YogaSukham earlier this year to alleviate thigh pain from extended desk work. Varsha gave me some posture correction tips on my first day of trial which helped me inmmensly. Since then, attending classes with Varsha & Satya has been an absolute delight. They provide clear instructions and conduct very engaging classes. They meticulously guide the class through every pose and with help of supporting props, people can get into complex poses with safety and ease. The studio also offers class recordings for their paid members for flexible practice. The studio is Impeccably clean and well-lit.
Being a member of YogaSukham has been a great experience, and I totally recommend it to anyone seeking enhanced agility, strength, and a more focused mind through yoga practice.

The best yoga studio in town. I started at Yogasukham in October 2022 and my yoga practice is something that I have come to look forward to immensely since then.
Satya, Varsha and all the other teachers are fantastic. Satya always says “ all it takes is to show up to class” and show up is all I did (with the trial classes.)I was super skeptical , did not want to invest a penny more and add to my collection of workout gear. Luckily they had the option of renting all the props that is used in the class.
I continued not because it was easy but the practice was intriguing. Satya’s keen eye ensured that I did not twist or injure any part of my body during the trail period . Use of props and his coaching style helped me get over my fear and hesitation to attempt tough poses.
Varsha’s mantra is “find your challenge, do not get comfortable doing a pose”
They lead the classes skilfully from one asana to the next. Each class is designed so we start small and build up to a surprisingly advanced pose. And no two classes are the same. The rotation of classes , monthly poses all scale up to advanced poses. The progress is imperceptible, and I surprise myself on days when I smoothly enter into a camel or a peacock pose seemingly without warning. That’s when they get us to toss our limbs around , rock and have fun! Rope-wall classes are mind blowing.
Showing up regularly for the 75 minute classes has been the best thing that I have done for myself. I find my mobility, balance and flexibility has improved.
I'm looking forward to another great year with Satya, Varsha and all the other teachers and my yoga buddies in 2024!

Ever apprehensive and scared of joining a group yoga class, I was coaxed by my daughter to visit Yogasukham to check them out. I am so glad I did! The fact that I am eager to attend the 6am morning class says a lot. Satya and Varsha are excellent teachers - so full of compassion and understanding! They effortlessly and with great patience coach a mixed bunch of students ranging from novices like me to experts, keeping a watch on everyone and making sure the poses are done correctly and safely. Their expertise in human physiology and relating it to each asana amazes me and at the same time makes the intent of the pose crystal clear. The detail with which one is walked through each asana while keeping each student’s capacity in mind shows the true dedication of the teachers at this wonderful studio. There is always a work around suggested if one is limited due to an injury. There is a great compassion and a family like atmosphere in how the studio operates which makes it very welcoming. I am so glad I found Yogasukham and see the benefits in my health already - with stress reduction and flexibility.

I started yoga practice with Varsha and Satya over a year ago, having never attempted Yoga before. Through systematic, detailed practices marked by their trademark patience and watchfulness, I've made more progress than I could have imagined, and look forward to practice - I only wish I could go more often than I do!
Not only that, they continue to nurtured an amazing YogaSukham community that goes well beyond the studio. You can see this in the number of practitioners that join the zoom sessions from as far away as Austin or the East coast.
Without exaggeration, I'd say that YogaSukham has been transformative for both my wife and myself. I highly recommend it to anyone at any stage of their yoga journey - not just for the practice but the people and community.

I very highly recommend Yogasukham for everyone, regardless of age and ability. The class sizes are ideal and individual attention is paid by the very knowledgeable instructors. There are several classes held each day at different times and with different levels of skills . The classes are about an hour and 15 minutes each and are conducted both in person and online through zoom.
I am a very early riser and found that 6am in person class is ideal for me. The class is a mix of all levels of yoga and includes a prayer and short meditation time.
All the instructors are extremely knowledgeable and very encouraging. Most of the classes I attend are conducted by Satya and can’t say enough good things about him!! Very knowledgeable about the asanas and also knows exactly how to teach students so that there is minimum effort. Love the way he leads the class through several steps before getting into the actual asana. He demonstrates the steps several times and explains them in such a way that I never get into any painful positions.
As owners of the yoga center, Satya and Varsha went overboard in accommodating my needs, ensuring my hearing disability did not prevent me from practicing yoga. Satya suggested using the audio from the Zoom online class so I won’t have any issues hearing the instructions!!
Another great plus for Yogasukham is I get a link everyday to the video of the class I attended within an hour or two. This helps in practicing yoga at home at my own convenience .
The yoga session puts me in a very peaceful frame of mind for the rest of the day. I signed up at Yogasukham in October 23 and have been actively practicing yoga since then. Love the whole experience at Yogasukham that I signed up for another year!!!

It’s taken me several years to write a review. It wasn’t because I couldn’t think of anything to write but I was afraid that I’d have too much to say. Yoga Sukham changed the way I practiced and felt about yoga. From the ropes wall, to the inversion trainer along with my daily practice has given me a strength that I’d never experienced before. I highly recommend Yoga Sukham but not just for the practice but mainly for the people. The teachers are exceptional. You will NOT regret it.

I've had the privilege of being a student at this fantastic yoga studio for a while. This place undeniably merits a solid five-star rating!
First and foremost, the theme-based daily asana sessions have been a game-changer for me. Each day, we explore a different aspect of asanas, from deepening our practice to mindfulness state. It keeps things fresh and exciting.
Flexibility in scheduling is another standout feature. With a busy work schedule, I greatly appreciate the range of class timings. I can always find a session that fits my day, no matter how hectic it may be.
The ambiance is simply superb. The studio is nestled in a peaceful corner. The serene environment is perfect for centering yourself and focusing on your practice.
What sets this place apart is the homely atmosphere. It's like a big family. The founders, Mr. Satya and Mrs. Varsha, have created an incredibly warm and welcoming environment.
Their guidance and teachings have been transformative for me. Their passion for yoga is contagious, and they truly lead by example.
Through my practice here, I've learned to connect my body and mind on a deeper level. The emphasis on mindfulness has made me more aware and present, not just on the mat but in every aspect of my life.
One of the things I cherish most is the diversity of the student community. We come from various backgrounds and age groups, and we all learn from each other. It's incredibly enriching to share experiences and insights with such an open-minded group.
In summary, this yoga studio is a gem. The versatile team, the welcoming environment, and the daily theme-based sessions have made my yoga journey truly fulfilling. I can't recommend it enough to anyone seeking a holistic yoga experience.
Namaste 🧘♀️🙏.

If you are looking for an authentic Iyengar yoga asana practice place which is both fulfilling and enriches your experience and understanding of yoga, then Yogasukham studio is the place for you. I had some prior experience with Vinyasa yoga and when I started my search for a yoga place, I was looking for something that would make me feel comfortable and motivate me to practice regularly. Yogasukham has a 2-week trial period to make up your mind, but truth be told, I was sold with the very first session. I was amazed with Satya and Varsha's love and passion for imparting knowledge and their abundance of patience to guide in the correct way of practicing poses. Best of all, the studio has option of online practice where you will get the same experience, same attention to detail as in-person session.
At Yogasukham, I have found a community that is so welcoming to the new members and so dedicated in learning. Here we get to learn the right way to enter and exit a pose, different ways of doing the same poses using different props, variations of the poses, how to have an in-body experience to improve the poses and stay in them longer and to top it all no pressure to get the things right then and there.
Varsha and Satya constantly remind the practitioners that it's alright to not get the full extent of the pose right away and that a modification of the pose is not a bad thing as long as the basic intent of the pose is not lost. This is such a big encouragement to continuously work on your body and improve in one's practice.
I have recently moved 40 miles from the studio but am still able to practice through online sessions and occasional drop-in to the studio for in-person practice.
I am improving my knowledge of Asanas as well as other limbs of Yoga through the Advanced Study Program offered by Yogasukham. In this program I am learning about the minute details of the various poses, modifications, proper use of props, meditation, pranayam, yogasutras, the list goes on.
I am glad I found and joined Yogasukham and become part of this amazing community.

You are here to read about this studio, and my review may or may not resonate with you. But if you value any of these, then your search ends here!
1. The teaching is rooted in the solid legit Iyengar yoga principles, (the real deal) which was key to me. By the end of the practice I feel like I have done a good workout but also feel calm and grounded. The class pace seems just right.
2. They have so many batches to choose from - which helps with my unpredictable schedule. I absolutely loved that going in. If you cant make it to the studio, there's the option to attend class online. And if you missed both, you get a recording of the days practice to follow along at your own time. Besides, the regular workshops they keep holding like Rope Wall and Yoga Inversion helps in continuous learning.
3. The incredible community I got is priceless. Especially with the Yoga Advanced Studies Program I am doing with them. It is true when they say that having a community increases the chances of keeping one's exercise regimen. Besides, this place feels very secular, liberal and modern; I see participants from all backgrounds, age groups and walks of life meeting on common 'inspired' ground.

I've been practicing yoga on and off for 20 years. This is hands down the best yoga studio I have ever encountered! The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly and the staff is focused on helping you with your practice -with individualized teaching. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, you will find that you belong here. The teaching methodology focuses on the "how" of poses - the muscles you activate, the process of entering and exiting poses - very carefully explained and very individualized. If you are one of those people who say, "I can't do yoga" or "I'm not flexible", I encourage you to give this studio a try. The supportive environment and excellent teaching will cause you to change that self-talk. Anyone can "do" yoga - you need the right guide to help you. You will find that guide at Yoga Sukham.

Yoga practice at the YS studio has helped me rediscover the little things I almost take for granted-like taking deep breath’s for starters. I am an absolute novice with 10 months into the practice.Yoga did not make it to the list until 2022 although everything else made it to that list. Come New Year’s resolution-30 minutes of ‘intense’ research that included skimming through the reviews of studios in & around the vicinity of home that offered in person instruction is how I came upon YS studio.I signed up & then called the studio-ready to go!This was those NY’s full proof ‘commit to it -no back out-I swear’ kinda plans. Satya was gracious & patient enough to answer ALL my questions AFTER I had registered! My first few weeks were all about gauging the vibe I felt in the studio, testing my abilities, telling my right hand/leg from my left hand/ leg, doubting if yoga was indeed for me ,being introduced to terms like bolsters, blocks, teardrop cushion, sacrum, lumbar, lesser trochanter, sternum, sitz bones!Although the only constant was showing up!Varsha & Satya ease you into it all. I have to admit that sometimes there is that little voice in your head that tells you to aim for perfection right away and end up like a pretzel. But you learn slowly but surely to ENJOY THE PROCESS!! Well.. Satya & Varsha only say it out aloud every day!! I’ve come to understand that the yoga practice at YS follows along the lines of Iyengar yoga -developed & named after BKS Iyengar. It emphasizes on precision & alignment hence the use of a wide range of yoga tools like blankets, bolsters, straps, ropes, chairs, blocks & such to help practitioners to find the correct alignment in their poses. It is the little things with the practice at YS that work for me. The deep breathing instead of taking short quick breaths, the patience & the grace to accept where I am in the practice are my key take aways in the last ten months. Again,Satya & Varsha only reinforce it out aloud every day! I have gone from experiencing days of self doubt to moments of awe, from being impatient to keeping my self- confidence in check, from sticking to what I think indigenously works for me to trying to explore. On some days it works & on some it doesn’t and that is exactly what the practice at YS hopes to share ..IT is OKAY.(Again, Varsha & Satya only mention it in passing pretty much every day!)
I understand that practice at YS is easy to follow along even if you were to simply watch both Varsha & Satya get into the poses (the words by one of our parent’s visiting us & chose to join YS albeit for a few months)
Both Varsha & Satya are very patient, mindful, giving & unique in their offerings of the practice. The sessions are anything but mundane. I want to think they might have switched things up a bit after a visit from a certain MASTER. Besides Varsha & Satya, I have had the opportunity & have enjoyed my evening sessions taught by Denay, Carol & Manisha(they just happened to teach at a time more suitable to my schedule). Denay’s teaching style IMO seems a lot like Satya’s.I have loved practicing at the studio primarily. It is quite organized, well stocked & always neatly kept.YS offers many workshops (never heard of any such in the past) like the Rope-wall workshop which seems to be a crowd favorite. You use the ropes and straps on the wall & do some of the poses like the forward or backward folds. I have been to a few of them & it has always been a different experience each time! Then, there is the Sound Bath workshop that I’ve liked simply because it seems like a moment of escape from all the clutter & chaos around. But the best one so far & the most intense & challenging one has been the sessions with the Master Shri HS Arun ji whenever he visits from India.YS hosts these workshops at the studio. This one is a true revelation! Arun Ji breaks down the minutest aspects of the practice-like how you close your eyes or how how you breathe or even your basic sitting poses. An Inversion’ workshop using an inversion chair is coming up soon at the studio. An update later.

I’ve been practicing with Satya and Varsha for the last year and it’s been a life changing experience. I have practiced yoga on and off for many years, but this Iyengar yoga has taken me to a whole new level. I no longer wake up with an achy back, my flexibility is better than ever, and my posture and movement has improved significantly. Instead of quickly moving through poses, this practice is all about getting into each pose step by step, slowly and purposefully, from many different angles, using props and the wall to deepen each stretch. I am surprised and thrilled at the flexibility, balance and strength that practicing Iyengar yoga has given me, and I am confident this a practice that will be a part of the rest of my life. I look forward to class every day - Iyengar yoga makes my body feel awake and vibrant, far more intensely than any Vinyasa yoga I have done previously.
Satya and Varsha are very warm and welcoming, and take the time to make sure each student is in each phase of the pose correctly. The studio is warm and peaceful, the classes are fun as well as challenging, and Satya’s humor brings much light and levity. I consider it a blessed gift to be able to practice and learn from such knowledgeable and giving teachers. I wish I could give more than 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!

I want to say that I have been doing yoga since the turn of the century ( except during Covid), and have not been to a better yoga studio. All of the instructors are excellent and pay individual attention to all participants. I think what I like most, is that they emphasize using muscles, not just stretching.
My most valuable time at the studio is during my weekly private lessons. After Covid I was actually scared to participate in classes as I have aged and do not have the ability I used to. So I started with private lessons. Satya as a wealth of knowledge about the body and on how one can improve their poses. I thought I would take private lessons for just a couple of months and then join classes. However, I found the private lessons so helpful that I have committed to the full year, as well as the classes. I feel it is an investment in my wellbeing - my future.

There are three key things that I love at YogaSukham - My gurus (Sathya & Varsha), the Iyengar method of practice with the help of props (which feels safe), the gurus approach - no pressure to compete or get to a pose when you and your body aren't ready (everyone gets to practice at their pace with the emphasis on getting one's alignment, balance, strength and flexibility). The very fact that I look forward to going to the class everyday is testimony to how much I love the practice. Thanks to Sathya for inspiring and he has such an endearing personality. I tried my first rope wall workshop yesterday and it was awesome. Looking forward to continue my practice.

I have only been coming to YogaSukhum for about 2 months (nearly daily), but I can definitely feel and see a a difference. I joined yoga because I needed an outlet for my anxiety and burnout from work. I feel more flexible and for the first time ever, have been able to touch my toes (a small but important success for me). All the instructors are great, especially Satya and Varsha. I absolutely love the fact that they take the time and explain why the poses are done in each way, the importance of it and what part of the body we're working on. I've always been hesitant about starting yoga because I have been very conscious about my lack of flexibility and unable to hold certain poses. But at YogaSukhum, it's never about the ability to hold a pose, it's where your body is that day and going into the pose correctly and safely. Using yoga props, not forcing poses and listening to my body, has allowed me to improve on my flexibility, feel stronger and have been able to hold and do poses that I never thought I would be able to.
The instructors are very personable, will address specific limitations and will provide any modifications needed to feel comfortable and confident. I truly appreciate that they push us to go further, but never make us uncomfortable. I have also attended a sound bathe and an inversion training class. It was my first time experiencing a sound bathe and it was very different and beautiful experience. I was very nervous trying the inversion class, but I wanted to go outside my comfort zone and try something different. The class was a lot of fun and the way they slowly approached inversions really helped me feel safe and comfortable trying it. We used an inversion trainer and it was honestly a lot of fun.
They have classes multiple times a day - daily and have an option of joining online. Even online, the instructors will give each yogi attention, encouragement and feedback. The classes are 75 min long, but the time goes by so fast. Classes are easy to join via using their app and they have great membership options. They are also very mindful of COVID regulations and everyone who attends must be vaccinated. I am so glad my husband googled a yoga studio near us and found this amazing place for me. After trialing it for 15 days, I signed up for a 6 month commitment without any hesitation. The most important aspect I respect about coming here is the emphasis of mind, body and breath. I am very grateful for this yoga studio and the instructors.

I am a beginner at Yoga and started practicing at YogaSukham in January 2022, but I can vouch that my flexibility has improved quite a lot. All the instructors here are Yoga gurus and have their own style to guide you through the practice. They will accommodate practitioners of all levels by customizing the poses based on the individual's needs. Instructors keep an eye on everyone's poses and recommend the corrections, which is an absolute must, especially for beginners. You have the flexibility of practicing in the studio or online in the mornings, late afternoons, or evenings (I highly recommend in-studio practice). If you can't make it during those times, you will get a daily recording for practice at your convenience. The studio is spacious and welcoming, with plenty of room for several yogis.

I attended Sound bath workshop by Satya yesterday. It was a wonderful and relaxing experience. I was surprised that 1hr 20mins passed so quickly. Through out the session I felt like the sound waves were forcing me to relax which felt very good after the busy and stressful week that I had. Definitely recommend this workshop to everyone.
I have also attended multiple yoga classes over the past few weeks with different instructors here. Each of them have there own style and I recommend trying everyone before deciding on your favorite. Perfect place for practicing Iyengar style of yoga. Best part is, all the classes here are designed for all levels of yoga practitioners. So, you don't have to worry about which class to go. You can attend any class and also their mobile app is very convenient to book the classes.

Hi Varsha and Satya,
I would like to share a great thing that I have achieved today due to practicing yoga at Yogasukham.
I am not a hiker and always found hiking as an extremely challenging activity for me. Last time I hiked on a small hill in San Ramon was almost 10 years ago. After few attempts, I gave up on hiking due to shortness of breath, knee pain, lack of confidence and determination.
This morning I decided to give it a try to climb on the hill next to DVHS, after Varsha’s class. And I DID climb the hill slowly and steadily without stopping or gasping for breath. I felt very strong and in control throughout my climb.
Being a Yoga practitioner under your guidance, today I could achieve what I thought to be impossible to do for past many years. I am feeling extremely HAPPY and energetic and looking forward to hike once a week.
I THANK YOU BOTH for everything you put in your yoga classes with great enthusiasm. It’s truly magical. You are a gifted and inspiring yoga teachers🙏

I have been a student of Yogasukham for the last 15 months. They have dedicated teachers, well planned programs and allow for students of all levels to practice at their pace/level. Regular students come from all over the Bay Area and as far as Toronto. I have really enjoyed learning from YS and it has helped me significantly in lowering my BP and has had a great help in my flexibility - which in turn has helped me reduce my golf handicap by three strokes. Would highly recommend them to anyone considering yoga.

When I joined Yogasukham, I was new to yoga. I have realized that I like doing yoga. Yogasukham is great as the teachers - Satya, Varsha, Lorey, John, Himani are all great and help us getting into asanas with ease. Also Yogasukham has different time slots everyday which helps me in attending the class almost daily. I have been attending the classes for a year and a half and I look forward to it everyday. I just completed forward fold class. It was amazing! The teachers and Yoga Sukham have really helped me over time to go slow and protect my back but get deeper and deeper without sacrificing the extension of the spine as I fold forward. This is so important. Go slow and be patient, follow the actions called out and you will get there. I have tight hamstrings especially since I got back to running, but I was able to go deeper today just by following the directions and going slow. Awesome class!

Yoga Sukham is a great experience and a amazing studio that has helped me improve the health and fitness of my body. The instructors give precise instructions which make it easy to follow.Practicing yoga continuously has allowed my body to do difficult poses easily. I attended a private soundbath session with Satya. The experience was amazing!! First, from the very beginning, starting with booking the session, everything was perfect. The communication was great. Satya helped us understand every step of the way what to expect, what to bring, and was very straightforward about the entire experience, price, even potential concerns that may arise. His transparency and communication made us feel so comfortable and built immediate trust. The actual soundbath was like nothing I've ever experienced. It was truly the most relaxing experience of my life. I believe everyone should experience this. If you haven't tried it, please consider it! You won't regret it!

I can not say enough about YogaSukham. Satya and Varsha have created a truly special environment for their students. I have tried other Yoga studios and YogaSukham is by far my favorite. Satya and Varsha, as well as Lori and John, care so much about their students, paying special attention to their individual needs. I would often wake up with pain in my back, shoulder, neck, etc. Having attended these classes for the past couple of months, I am feeling so much better! My mobility has improved, my posture has improved (I feel like I've grown two inches) and I feel a deeper connection to my body. I look forward to class and attend in person, however online classes and recorded classes are available as well.
I attended my first Ropes Wall Workshop yesterday. While I had some initial apprehension, I left feeling great and amazed at what my body is capable of. Fun, hard work, great environment and tons of individual attention. I can't wait for the next one! I highly recommend YogaSukham!

So happy to have taken the step into YogaSukham
Each class is a journey, slow and study using muscle not momentum with the intention of taking your body where it will go on that day. Focused on proper alignment, stretching, twisting, and muscle building.
Satya and Varsha use many props, which makes classes fun and at times very interesting.
When I started at YogaSukham I went to the studio, then Covid hit, they quickly started offering zoom classes, they give detailed instruction, corrections of alignment, praise, and humor. They also have recorded classes, which is nice as sometimes my schedule does not work with class times.
I wish I could tell the world much better I feel, I have never been flexible, but over time I am amazed at the difference in my body. I have gotten complements on my posture and asked what do you do? “Yoga” is the answer

"Yesterday I attended Rope wall workshop offered by Yoga Sukham. This was not my first time attending the Rope wall workshop. Every time I have learn something new about my own body which includes from letting go of my fear to engagement of my thigh muscles / quads pushing into foot in simple vrukshasana. Yesterday We tried couple of different poses which gave me maximum shoulder opening and my sides muscles got really long extensions. In daily Yoga practice we know which muscle needs to work but sometimes we overdo or under-do. Rope wall teaches you to be true to the action. I encourage everyone to try at least one workshop to get that true body experience. I bet you will attend many more just like me. "

Now that we are able to attend in person classes and workshops, the Ropes Workshop is one you should sign up for! Whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for many years, the ropes will give you a better understanding of the poses and it is FUN! I attended a workshop today and when I did Vrikshasana (Tree Pose) the support of the rope made me aware of keeping my hips level and shoulder and head aligned, without stress on my standing leg. Satya and Varsha are knowledgeable teachers who are able to give you individual attention in these workshops. It is the great way to find ease in the yoga poses with the rope support and see people around you enjoying the activity! Relaxing neck with the rope support at the end followed by the Shavasana was very calming. I am Looking forward for the next one on October 17th.

This is my first venture into the world of yoga, and it has been a gratifying start. The sessions have helped create a space for mindful, neatly paced movements. As an athlete who has focused on raw strength, power and speed for endurance, I am appreciating the steadiness, mindfulness and awareness these sessions are helping create in my day to day actions.
Also, as I continue to take the classes remotely (they have opened the studio for safe in-person sessions), there is still individual and detailed guidance given throughout to those online.

I have a lot of respect and appreciation for Satya and Varsha. They exert a lot of efforts to educate their yoga students about minute aspects of performing Yoga such that they get maximum benefits and gain expertise in a very fundamental way. During my last visit to the doctor, he was surprised to see my progress.
Thanks Satya and Varsha, I owe my health improvements to you!

Very often the practice of Yoga is treated as a form physical exercise, but there is so much more richness to it that goes beyond obvious physical benefits, like self reflection, being present, improving your focus and concentration and being content in the moment. Very few yoga studios actually instill such thinking into the practiice and Yogasukham started by two amazing and inspiring practitioners Satya and Varsha, is one of those rare gems. All the instructors patiently guide you through each asana to become more aware of your alignment and action and be present in each pose. The weekend classes also include a 15 minute meditation to get the benefits of the practice. For anyone looking to find or gain more meaning, balance and wholeness in the practice of Yoga while building strength and flexibility, you should definitely try this place

I have been a regular at Yogasukham for almost 1.5 years now. It is unlike any other yoga studio or practice I have ever experienced. And, I have tried many - including Bikram yoga, Hatha yoga & also a course in India! Though each one had its merits, Yogasukham offers a complete holistic experience. Even though it is a group class, the teachers give individualized attention. The studio offers more than just yoga. It offers meditation times, a unique “sound bath” experience, special yoga sessions with a rope wall, etc. It is about creating a healthy & caring community. The studio radiates calmness & a positive energy. Yoga has that effect on you! The owners, who also teach at the studio, are wonderful people & have surrounded themselves with teachers who go over & beyond to make each practice special. I have decided to be a member for life!

I have been looking for a Yoga studio which teaches the real deal, where each of the "asanas" are done perfectly - so I can learn and do it for the rest of my life. I had attended many studios earlier where it was like tons of poses in a session, almost making it like an aerobics class and not the real Yoga. Also I feel if you have not learned it from a master at a young age - the nuances of each pose, what part to use and what to relax, how the breath should be, where the eyes should be ... all of them cannot be learned in a fast pace aerobics kind of way.
YogaSukham is perfect ! Uses lots of props to help you get into the real asanas and develop your yoga skills at your own pace. What more they have a 6am class as well, which is perfect for me as most of my evening pledges go nowhere due to work, or just being guilty about not spending evening with my kids.
And I just have my 11 year old start as well as I feel that is the best gift I can give him for his healthy life. He need not wait till his 40’s to get the real deal !!

I came to YogaSukam about 6 months ago, a little tentative, having had no prior experience or practice with yoga, and not wanting to get injured. What I came to appreciate most over the last 6 months is the high attention to detail the teachers spend helping each new person learn important fundamentals for both safety and effectiveness - breath, alignment, focus, and different levels of each pose for different abilities. I recently joined a new health club in the East Bay, and had planned to try to consolidate my yoga and exercise classes in one place for efficiency. It became clear to me after attending a yoga class at the new gym, that the classes at YogaSukam are very unique. The teacher quality is extremely high here, and it’s a place where I can learn yoga safely and progress at my own rate. I especially appreciate the level of integrity they demonstrate in all that they do. I highly recommend YogaSukam for people of all abilities, it’s a truly peaceful, inviting, and affordable place to learn and develop your own practice.

Extensive use of props in the Iyengar style of Yoga taught at Yogasukham, I found, is very helpful in attaining maximum benefit out of each pose.

So glad to have found YogaSukham! The owners Satya and Varsha are true yogis. They live the eight limbs of yoga including practicing yoga and meditation as a part of their lives. They are both spiritual, and I have been looking for a place to practice and discuss my spiritual side for some time now. They have classes early morning (6am) through late evening with well-trained, experienced, and kind teachers. The center offers classes in nutrition, coaching, voice, various instruments, and even dance! They also offer classes for kids and teens, which is much needed to help our young ones learn to slow down in today’s fast paced society.
