It will improve your posture, balance and core strength. This workout is about learning to move through the world with more confidence and grace.
You will be guided through a beat based workout that flows to the music with personalized modifications and extra challenges to fit your needs.
Yolo Barre is for dancers (at heart), music lovers and people that don’t like gyms.
You will be given cues to better contact with your body, to help you find your focus, to move with poise resulting in you feeling and looking your best. So you can go out and do the things you want to do pain free!

I have never liked working out, going to the gym, any of it. Since starting at Yolo Barre, I have actually enjoyed working out!! The classes feel quick, powerful, and so worth it. It isn't much time out of the day, but I get so much out of it - mentally and physically. I have lost > 15 lbs since January 1 this year (< 3 months) and I owe a lot of that to Yolo Barre. Since attending regularly, I have noticed a difference in my body, in my energy level, and in other aspects of my life (I recently went snowboarding on a powder day and while my buddies' thighs were aching and burning, I was ready for more! Then I went to Yolo Barre again the next morning at 6am!). I HIGHLY recommend Yolo Barre for anybody who wants a great, efficient, satisfying full body work-out and feel-good environment to boot!

I have been attending classes at Yolo Barre for the last year now, and it has been amazing and transformative. My wife has been using Barre-type workouts for the last 12 years, and I have occasionally joined her for some of those work outs--Barre is kind of like a cross between Pilates and Yoga, but uses a ballet barre and some ballet-related stances to gain core strength and overall muscle tone, improve balance, and increase flexibility. I joined Yolo Barre as a member because I had to stop running (long story) and I was looking for an outlet for my physical energy. Since joining and using Barre as my primary workout routine, my core strength and balance have improved so much that I notice a marked improvement in all of my day to day physical efforts and athletic endeavors, particularly for snowboarding and mountain biking.
The workouts are done in a group setting with music and it is possible to take the exercises as hard or as lightly as one desires. Sometimes, I may not be feeling my best, so I will hold back a little, knowing that I am still working on my stretching and breathing. Other times, I will go all out and push myself to the limit, leaving with shaking legs that can barely move the next day (in a good way, of course). All the instructors are great, providing positive motivation and support--for those dealing with injuries, the instructors have always been able to provide modifications and help with ways to keep training despite any physical limitations to the exerciser. As such, I can recommend Yolo Barre to any and all people, regardless of their age and current physical fitness level. Most classes run for 45-min, and there are lots of different times available--first class (which is often surprisingly packed) starts at 6AM and the last class of the day starts at 6:15PM--so there should be times available for most people's busy schedules.
In addition to being a great place to get a workout, the community itself is excellent--I may be one of the few men that regularly attends classes, but I have always been made to feel welcome! The staff goes out of their way to make everyone feel at home and part of the group. The studio often runs challenges and activities that keep everyone engaged. (This aspect can really help when you get up early in the morning to workout and wish you could just stay in bed!)
Overall, I really appreciate having Yolo Barre in our community! The staff that runs it is knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive. I totally recommend everyone give Yolo Barre a try, especially if you are looking for a community that can help motivate you to keep moving!

**Note: be careful about cancellation policies! I didn't know exactly when my payment would be processed, so I didn't realize my 30-day notice would not allow me cancel before another payment processed. Unfortunately I'm paying $189 for an additional month I won't be able to use. Really sad to leave on this note... but my original review still holds true for anyone looking for a great workout and community!

Yolo Barre has been life-changing. This local studio is welcoming, encouraging, inclusive, and fun!!
The instructors are knowledgeable and invested. They’re personable and encouraging (with great music too). Most of my classes are with Leanne, Sho, and David—they’re amazing!
Every class is engaging, with a variety of strength training focus areas in just 45 minutes.
I was looking for a workout class as support for my mental health. Yolo Barre has been transformational in this area for me, and is now an integral part of my approach to mental wellness.
I had never participated in a group workout before, and I was nervous about not being fit enough for barre. From the first class, I found out that Yolo Barre is welcoming and supportive for all fitness levels, shapes, and sizes.
I still may not be the most graceful or coordinated… but I can 100% feel myself getting stronger week after week.
I’ve noticed big improvements to my strength, energy, and fitness.
More importantly, I’ve noticed big improvements to my mental health. I can feel a sense of confidence. Belonging. More comfort in my own body.
I am so grateful for Yolo Barre and look forward to being a member for years to come! 💛

There aren't a lot of spaces in Davis that bring a variety of people together, but Yolo Barre does! People of all ages/fields/abilities are in my classes. For 45 minutes, people from all backgrounds in Yolo county come along to move their body and dance. Not many spaces like these! I love my Yolo Barre Community :)

I cannot recommend Yolo Barre enough! I joined Yolo Barre in early 2023 when I was experiencing infertility issues. Barre was just what I needed- it was a fantastic physical outlet and positive supportive community. After being welcomed into the community I was pregnant within a month. I continued to work out multiple times a week throughout my pregnancy. The instructors were knowledgeable and worked with my growing belly in safe ways so I was able to still get a great workout in. I stayed in shape throughout my pregnancy, was doing jumping jacks on my due date, and had an incredibly fast labor and delivery (I was told my pelvic floor was incredibly strong and asked if I was an athlete in the hospital- thanks barre). My healthy baby is growing and active. I have been continuing to workout as a mother. The welcoming community at barre is much needed time for me and my body in the afternoons. I was fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes within 6 months post partum and am in great shape to keep up with my daughter. I have made great friends at barre and just feel so welcomed every day I walk into the studio. No matter who or what you are going through in life Yolo Barre is there for you. Highly highly recommend.

Although I am related to Brianna at Yolo Barre I have never been someone who likes to exercise. Yolo Barre , with its friendly and accepting teachers of all body types and abilities, has been so great to get me moving. The clientele is encouraged to connect and be positive which after the loss of my husband has been a great social connection for me. Thank you to Brianna and staff for helping and encouraging those of us in older bodies that have never been able to stay with an exercise program. So grateful.

Yolo Barre has changed my life. I love the fun, low impact, 45 min workouts that are easy to fit in to my schedule. Love this place, love that it’s local family owned and that Brianna has been in the barre community for ages. She practices what she preaches and their FB pages are inspiring. I’ve taken tons of exercise classes of all different forms. YB instructors are knowledgeable, fun, and extremely good at their craft. You can really tell that they are intentional in the planning of the classes and that all movements, stretches, etc. are programmed there for a reason. For streaming classes, they are also amazing at motivating you at the right time. It feels like they are inside your head. Right when your muscles can’t stand it anymore, you hear “keep it up, so strong” and you hang in for one more second!

YoloBarre is the best fitness experience in Yolo County! I started working out here 4 years ago and I kept it up when classes went online during lockdown. Now I’m an instructor! The friendly, caring and knowledgable instructors and front desk staff make coming to the studio a true joy! And if for any reason you’re in a bad mood when you arrive, I can pretty much guarantee that you will leave feeling 100% better. The work out is a well rounded, full body experience complete with bumping music from all genres and for all tastes. I have made so many wonderful friends at YoloBarre! My time there has not only transformed my body, but it has changed my life for the better!

Yolo Barre is a wonderful studio. If you're looking for a welcoming, supportive environment to start your fitness routine or to add to your routine give them a try.
Brianna, the owner, is so supportive and such a strong woman who just wants to empower others to feel their best.
All the instructors are kind, will help to make sure you get your form correct without making you feel silly or dumb, and know how to push you to get the most out of your time in class.
Members are also so kind!
One thing that's stood out to me as different from other places I've gone is that if you are out for a while (busy because life gets that way sometimes, sick, feeling stuck, surgery, etc) they are so encouraging when you come back to your first class in a while. Not once have I felt like any of the instructors are disappointed you weren't in class, and "scold" you for what you missed. Instead, I've always been welcomed back with big, genuine smiles and excitement to have me back. They're just happy you come to class.
If you're on the fence, give them a try! Shoot them a message to take a trial class! You won't regret it.

I won a 21day pass for yolo barre. I had never tried barre (or even heard of it) but I was excited to try something different to start my fitness journey. after having 2 babies it was tough to find confidence or even time for myself .I fell in love after my first class! Not only was it a fun challenge but the energy was so welcoming, fun and i learned so much about how to strengthen my « after baby » core muscles. With yolo barre I have a safe space , instructors with so much combined info for every level of fitness ; which is so reassuring. I wanted to be a part of the team in hopes to spread that same energy I felt going into yolo barre and learn more .

I love this spot sooo much! I'm never bored, it's always challenging but I'm not so sore I can't walk the next day, music is great, and instructors are great! The community is so welcoming and friendly, it makes you feel like you’re working out with friends. The class times are so convenient, there’s a time for anyone’s schedule. And the location is great for Davis locals and commuters! I’ve taken a lot of barre classes in Davis and Los Angeles, and Yolo barre by far is the best studio I’ve been to.

I have been a member at Yolo Barre since they opened in 2019. It’s my home away from home. Brianna and her team of fabulous instructors have helped me recover from plantar fasciitis (and prevented it from coming back!) and from an ulnar collateral ligament tear that I was told only surgery could resolve! The benefits aren’t just physical either. Yolo Barre is the place to meet a supportive community, have fun and calm the crazy of daily life! ❤️

From the moment I first walked into Yolo Barre I was hooked! The spa-like atmosphere invokes an immediate feeling of health, calm, and wellbeing. Even before a class begins, I always feel goooood, I know I am taking care of myself- body and mind- which as a working parent has always been a challenge to schedule. At Yolo Barre 45-minute classes make that possible! Brianna, David, and the Yolo Barre team make each Yolo member feel seen, valued, and empowered. Yolo Barre has made me a stronger person- physically and emotionally- in every area of my life! After seeing the many many positive effects Yolo Barre has had on my well-being, and my body (I have a six pack for the first time EVER at age 39!), my husband has recently obtained his own Yolo Barre membership. Sensational barre studio!! They have been a wonderful constant during a difficult two years with Covid, etc. I love their in-person workouts, and the at-home versions have been so fun to do on my patio when I wasn’t able to come into the studio. I began attending Yolo Barre classes at the beginning of 2020..then covid shut the world down. I have to give Yolo Barre some major props for showing up & streaming 5 days a week! These folx put their heart & soul in their offerings. You have got to try to see for yourself just how much you too will love 💛 Yolo Barre! The studio is a bright, cheerful atmosphere where everyone is welcoming and positive. Brianna, the owner and all the trainers are experts at guiding the class through small but intense movements in the center of the room as well as manipulating the use of a ballet bar, bands, straps and small weights. I joined the very first day of business on May 1st. Since then, I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions of my life both for my physical and mental health. 🥰 Since joining I have lost almost 40 lbs, I've dropped over 3 clothes sizes and I feel strong and healthy. Class size is capped at 20 so that the instructor can help you correct your posture or engage your movements so that you work your muscles and strengthen your entire body. You will leave class feeling amazing every single time! You may wonder if it will be hard? The answer is yes! ...But not impossible. You will get stronger, healthier and wish you would of started sooner. Don't wait! YOLO! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I love Yolo Barre. I go two to three times a week for a 45 minute class. Great addition to my exercise routine of biking and skiing. Helps me maintain and improve flexibility and core strength. I was never the sporty type growing up and I've only done exercise because I've "had to." That all changed when I started going to Yolo Barre. I now look forward to my workouts! I love going to Yolo Barre! The focus on proper form and posture helps keep me strong for the things that I love outside of barre class like road biking and skiing. Unlike other barre classes that I have taken this class incorporates cardio bursts which pumps up the class energy and gets your heart pumping. The classes are a convenient 45 minutes. I highly recommend trying a class

A wonderful addition to Davis, Brianna and her team are such genuine, helpful ladies who have created a wonderful studio that you can go into and let the worries of your day melt away. As a certified personal trainer who’s always trying to further myself, I thoroughly enjoyed Barre, it definitely promotes extra awareness of the muscles in your body and this for someone who might have injuries or poor posture can be key information in looking after themselves better. As somebody who was once above the 240lbs mark I know it can sometimes be daunting to start an exercise class, I know a few different ones made me feel Unwelcome over the years. But Yolo Barre is for anybody, all shapes and sizes. There’s no excuse if you think you’re out of shape. I’ve seen all walks of life there, - men included! They also have a wonderful Facebook support group where you can get extra home workouts and ask questions! Give it a go! You’ll never regret a workout once it’s done! Namaste 💚

I'll preface this review by saying that I am not someone that enjoys exercise, but I love the classes at Yolo Barre. I knew from streaming some online barre classes that I liked barre, but online just isn't the same as having an in person instructor like Brianna and her team at Yolo Barre. Now I get the corrections and instant feedback that I need. These 45 minutes classes are effective, addictive and make me feel strong, and the instructors mix it up so you're never doing the exact same movements from day to day. I'm so excited that Yolo Barre is in Davis.

This newly opened barre studio is a gem! Not only do you get a total body no impact workout in 45 mins, but there are a ton of times to choose from and the owner's personal committment to learning your name and making sure you feel welcome (at any level) is impressive. The studio is stylish, and clean and both the instructors and the students are super friendly. I've been searching for the type of combo of an incredible fitness burn and a rehab all tied together in town and I'm thrilled to have found it at Yolo Barre!

I came to Yolobarre because I was suffering back pain and unable to do my usual workouts. Brianna is an extremely knowledgeable, supportive teacher, and the workouts have been great for strengthening my core and making me less prone to back pain. I'm a serial fitness "quitter", and Yolo Barre has been the only fitness studio I've been able to stick with. I think that's because it's efficient, effective, convenient, and most importantly, fun!
