Joined YCCF in December of 2023. The best decision I've made for myself! CrossFit always seemed intimidating (from what we see on TV or social media) but l felt support from the amazing coaches since say one!
It's the place where I invest in my physical and mental health, make friends, and surrounded by positivity!
My husband joined the following year and we both absolutely love it!

I’ve been attending YCCF for a few months, and I love it! The coaches are super knowledgeable and no matter your fitness level, there’s always a coach there to guide you and push you just the right amount. The workouts are always varied and challenging, and the community is incredibly supportive. The gym is clean, and the equipment is top-notch. Whether you’re new to CrossFit or experienced, this place is perfect for reaching your fitness goals. Highly recommend! :)

A crossfit affiliate should be inviting. It's not intimidating . It should not be baised about their members' skill levels. It should be a place where everyone is welcomed. It should be a place where anyone can feel at home and valued. It should be a safe place. It should be where you, as a coach, are respected and feel appreciated. It should be a place where it is not threatening. It should be a place where members respect each other. It should be a place where the coaches are creditable, knowledgeable, and responsible. It should be a place where your ego is left at the door. It should be a place where it gives back to the community and not destroy the foundation of crossfit. It should have their coaches mentored, trained, and credentialed. It should be clean. It should not be a clique or a mean girl fest. It should be patting each other one the back, no matter if you scaled the workout or RX'd it. It should not be for the elitist. It should be maintained well. It should be giving back to its members. It should value those members who show up, pay their membership, and do the work at all levels. It should never be a place where you are threatened, harassed, bullied, cussed at, belittled, almost physically assaulted, or gossiped about when you are not there. It should never exclude those who are not the fittest. It should embrace the core values of crossfit. It shouldn't weed out those who are older and not on their level. It should not make a coach or member feel less than because of their race, age, or political beliefs. It should be involved in the community, that's who pay their memberships.
It should be a giver, not a taker. Owners should stand up for the coaches who they have entrusted with their members. Owners should be neutral. Not believe "just their friends." It should be about coaching!!! Technique over weight. It should be about taking pride in yourself and your affiliate. It should not be a place to feel insecure. I place where you are alienated because you are not in their circle.

I write this from experience. This is my story, my beliefs about what a crossfit affiliate should and should not do. This is what I have endured for years on a negative level. I was harassed, belittled, disrespected, verbally attacked by certain members, male and female, and by the owners.
I stayed. Why, because I love crossfit. I love what the Greg Glassman built, believed, and preached. I thought it would change it just became more of a negative environment.

I stand with the crossfit community of where everyone is welcomed and encouraged! Not hatered, immaturity, and a good ole mean girls club.

So, as of yesterday, I was kicked out of a crossfit affiliate after 10.5 years of giving so much of my heart, dedication, coaching, and respect to the members, friends, owners, and coaches I was given these reasons...
We are not giving you what you want anymore. You are not the right fit with our members. Members do not like you.
I will not return. I was not appreciated, not valued and treated poorly.
I never want to feel so dehumanized, unworthy, and downright disrespected by those owners and the very few members who chose to treat me so badly.
I leave with my head held high, and I am proud to be a level 2 crossfit coach. Which should've meant something to that affiliate.
I walk away with a lot of friends, great memories. A lot of knowledge, and I will hold my head up with pride knowing. It wasn't a me problem. It was a they problem!

I will move on. I still love crossfit and always will. I will just love it in a better place. ✌️ ✌️✌️✌️

Yc CrossFit will welcome you with open arms and push you to be your best. The community and the laughs make it well worth it, while bettering yourself everyday! I have weight trained most of my youth and played sports growing up. With such a busy schedule as an adult in college, finding the right balance was so hard but the solution was simply YC CrossFit. I always leave stronger than before with the feeling that I got my ass kicked. Everything is accommodated for you.

Abbey is an amazing person and owner. She’s always there for her CrossFit team while being a mother. She’s helpful and will cheer you on. She’s pretty badass!

If you are even thinking about doing it, just try it and you’ll probably never want to leave. So much love for my YCCF team ❤️

As a kid I was always active, I played sports throughout grade school, high school, competed on the softball field in college. After my athletic career ended I fell deeper into lifting weights.
I’ve tried home workouts, memberships at other local gyms, group fitness work. But NOTHING, NOTHING has compared to becoming a member at YCCF.

I was nervous taking the plunge into my journey, but I have been treated so great by members and staff. And I’m so thankful that YCCF welcomed me with nothing but positive vibes.

This place is so important to me in achieving not only my personal goals but to keep myself active. As an active softball coach in the community it’s so important for me to life a lifestyle that my athletes can emulate.

I’ve really enjoyed being a member of this gym for the past five years. It’s awesome to walk in and have a workout already planned out—no thinking required. I push myself way more here than I ever could at a regular gym. The coaches/members keep me accountable whenever I fall off my exercise routine, and they’ve really helped me stay fit, healthy, and happy as I dive into my 30s. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in trying

Immediately you feel like family when you come here. The warmest and most welcoming gym. Joining this gym 8 years ago was the best decision.

A couple months ago I started going to YC CrossFit to get in better shape. Recently, I went on an hunting trip in Arizona and was definitely thankful for the training! We hiked approximately 9 miles and had to pack the elk out. Thank you YC CrossFit!

I love these guys! Devon and Abbey made this gym a home away from home for me during my time there. In the 4 years I trained there I witnessed a personalized approach taken for each member catering to skills from beginner to expert. I can say with certainty they’re the best CrossFit gym in the area! Go in and check them out, you won’t be disappointed!

Started YCCF a couple months ago and I am glad I did. The people and environment are a gem. What an outstanding gym for personal growth. I can’t see myself going back to my old gym routines after experiencing YCCF. The vibes are good here.

Yuba City CrossFit has helped make this city a home.

I moved here almost two years ago from out of state. And, moving to a new place can be hard, especially when you know no one! In the pursuit to find friends and a community, I reached out to YCCF to try out a class and was greeted with kindness and welcoming vibes. I was pleasantly surprised to find that everyone at the gym was approachable and fun to be around. When you combine welcoming vibes with really cool people... you have your self an awesome gym! The workouts are challenging, but absolutely doable no matter your fitness level since there are coaches available to help you modify and change workouts as needed.

Abbey has created an amazing community that you want to be a part of! You will find lifelong friendships and improve your fitness and health at the same time. Not only do they focus on fitness, but overall health through various seminars and health challenges.

I highly recommend this gym!

YCCF has been my home for 10 years now. I love working out here and I love coaching here. We learn every day, we have fun every day, and most of all, we leave better than when we get here each day. This is such an awesome community to be a part of and I couldn’t be more thankful ☺️

I want to say thank you to a very welcoming CrossFit gym. I dropped during the Open which can be tricky and hard to manage. This was not the case everyone was talkative, encouraging and the community made me feel at home and welcome. The owners Abbey and Paul were very friendly and helpful. As a fellow gym owner I highly recommend anyone looking for a CrossFit gym in the area to start at Yuba City CrossFit.
