My family and I really enjoy YCRC. The staff are friendly, the nursery staff are great with my kids...I really love miss Janna and Taylor, they are really great with kids and my kids love them!!!

They have a buck of activities for kiddos of all ages. They have steam, sauna, cold plunge, inside spa, outside pool and spa, the outdoor area is great..love sunbathing β˜€οΈ and relaxing to the nature around. We love TERRY he is in charge of maintenance. Terry is phenomenal and does great work!!

They have everything here!!! There's so much more that I just can NOT for in here or else I would end up writing a whole essay or book!!!

UPDATE: I am so grateful for the quick and helpful response. It really shows the heart and soul behind the YCRC and even if they had not been able to fix everything, just the genuine response from leadership means the world. I see that they respond to every review and for that I am grateful. If you want a tailored and personal fitness experience, go to the Yuba City Racquet Club. It was the only fitness center in town where I felt comfortable bringing my wife and daughter. The group exercise classes are the best, especially Holly and every single one of the employees cares about the members and guests. Thank you again to management for the quick response. I’m very grateful.

I really loved this club. I was there almost every day for a couple years. When I joined the Army, I filled out the paperwork to terminate my membership or so I thought. Everyone there is super great and I love all the employees. Mike was there when I filled out the paperwork but a couple months later I realized I had been charged over $300 dollars and my membership had not been terminated. I have asked for a refund since I know they are supportive of first responders and military and I’m hoping they can fix it.

Dirty, EXPENSIVE, children constantly unsupervised in the pools and hot tubs, never any towels in the ladies room, complaints to staff go no where. And then there is management. They DO NOT care about their customers. They are there to clock in, make a buck and leave. They don’t care about their staff or about customer service. If something goes wrong within the gym, do not expect management to help you. IF you’re able to get ahold of someone, they are the rudest, most stuck up, condescending people. The attitude and subtle remarks are just uncalled for and NOT PROFESSIONAL. Not worth the hassle or the money!!

This has to be the most dirty, most expensive, and most unfriendly gym I have ever been to. Most of the other gym members don't wipe the machines before or even after they are finished using it. Many times I do it for them. It really doesn't take that much effort there are disinfectant wipes in almost every corner of the gym. Plus there's multiple signs asking members to wipe equipment and machines. In the men's locker room I saw beer cans in the trash. I'm surprised the manager or managers allow that. I'm also not a big fan of how a lot of members hold the machines for long periods of time while they check their phones. The gym is not about your social life it's about working. The equipment is very old and outdated. It's a very frequent occurrence for different machines to go out of service. There have been multiple gym members confronting me just because I wipe the machine before and after use telling me: "You don't have to wipe the machine unless the last guy was sweating". That is so disgusting. There was also an instance where I had just gotten on a machine a couple minutes and was told: "How much longer you need? You don't own the gym." As far as hygiene goes this gym lacks it. The locker room smells, the bathrooms are dirty, most people don't wipe stuff down, and much more. I'm thankful I left this place because you're not gonna achieve your fitness goals but you will acquire hepatitis or tuberculosis. It's unfortunate that the manager or managers don't enforce the rules.

As far as the spa goes, you got sweaty people who just came out of either the steam room or sauna and jump right into the pool, Jacuzzi, or the cold plunge. Even with a shower being right there. Another thing I hate is the fact that the steam room is always out of service for weeks and sometimes longer. It's unfortunate they charge $99 a month plus an annual member fee of about $40. I'm just going to say it wasn't worth it and it's unfortunate that they charge premium prices while adding additional costs. The gym is rundown save yourselves from these ridiculous prices and invest in a home gym like I did.

Edited to respond to the owner’s reply:
I appreciate that the owner replied, but the response shows exactly the problem with this place β€” it’s a generic, copy-and-paste corporate answer that ignores the specific issues I experienced. They claim β€œhygiene is extremely important” while admitting they β€œcannot monitor member hygiene continuously,” which is exactly why this gym is as filthy as it is. They brag about spending β€œhundreds of thousands” on new equipment, yet most of the machines I saw were outdated, broken, or out of service for weeks. Instead of actually addressing the lack of rule enforcement or the constant confrontations from other members, they deflected and treated my review like a PR nuisance. This is exactly why I left β€” because management talks a big game but takes little action.

Really regret having started with this club. Gave it a shot thinking it would be a good chance to get some family time over the summer. The daycare hours are kind of random, closed on Sundays and 12-3 in the afternoon. You have to make an appointment for daycare and only for two hours and if you miss your appointment you're charged for it... Just a lot of hoops and little things that made it difficult to actually use.

Decided to give up after two months (family plans are $160), and got hit by $300 in charges.

Really feel silly trying to give this place a shot. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

Facilites were okay, I guess. The indoor pool kind of tasted really salty and like a nursing home, if that makes sense?

I previously gave this club five stars, however I just found nicotine dip packets in the corner of the steam room today because the steam room was shut off for some reason - - it begs the question, what do we not see when it's steamed up? I've also seen some questionable things about the cleanliness in the women's bathroom. I have not once seen anyone going there and clean up throughout the day besides doing the towels.

There needs to be someone going and cleaning the steam room, sauna, and indoor as well as outdoor pool area. If someone needs to stand there and regulate people, that's just what needs to happen I think. Because I also had seen people not rinsing off and going dripping sweat into the indoor jacuzzi and cold plunge even though there's a shower right there. There was a dude in the steam room who blew his nose into one of the white towels that they supply their members. I think there needs to be a stricter policy with members not following rules or being unsanitary.

I give two stars because of the friendly staff, and equipment. I signed up on a month-to-month contract, and if it doesn't improve in cleanliness I will be canceling my membership for my family.

I have been a member of the Raquet club since I was young kid. Now I am older and have my own kids and account the Raquet club has always been reliable. With everything going up in price and getting more expensive the Raquet club is still affordable and works with you. I don’t know how many times in the last month I thought I was going to cancel my account then kept it then cancelled just to end up keeping it it because it’s such a great deal for the WHOLE family to use. The pools, hot tube, and not to mention the steam room and sauna. Thanks you Shannon for always being so patient with me. I love the club life.

Predatory and deceptive membership contract at the Racquet Club. I asked for a temporary membership due to my traveling job. They put me on a year membership instead. Setting aside that issue, let's look at their membership... I was there a month and two days and it cost me about $260 in membership fees. I paid for the month I was there, the month I didn't use (having closed it at the beginning of the month), their annual membership fee, and then finally, yet another fee that apparently kicks in 60 days after canceling membership. I'm a reasonable man but, at some point a line is crossed where conventional contractual obligations and agreements are surpassed, and deceiving and predatory practices are being implemented. The Racquet Club is the worst I've seen.
*Their accountant's assurance that she was just doing her job was not helpful*
Lacking in business ethics and integrity. Contracts do not alleviate those principles in business. Unless they change their contract terms, it reasonable to assume your experience will be the same. At the end of the day, it's only money but, the integrity and ethics part do matter to me. My only review I've ever posted online!
*Update* 5/26/2024 I read the club's response below. They were quick to point out their integrity but, I think my response will shed a clearer light on the issue. The accountant originally justified my added expenses over the phone by saying I was on an annual contract instead of the temporary membership when I first inquired about this little anomaly. Now I'm back to a temporary in their explanation as of this post. How does a temporary membership rack up $260 of fees for a month of gym use? If they believe their membership contract is fair, transparency shouldn't be a big deal. I implore the club to respond with the totality of what a perspective member will *actually* pay, and when these fees kick in. I'm an intelligent enough person, and I know how to read and interpret contracts. But it is a gym, not a land sale or a home mortgage. As a consumer, if I read every contract's fine print that I am required to accept in order to use a service to get through a single day, I would have to quit my job just to read terms and conditions. And businesses are well aware of that fact. And that is the point of this post. Indeed, it is ultimately my responsibility to read the contract and know what I'm signing. But in the real world, we don't have time to sign ten contracts a day so, as consumers, we rely on each other's feedback to make informed decisions and call out bad actors when it becomes excessive. We rely on your integrity, as a business, and it was taken advantage of with a fee structure that is clearly designed to manipulate the perception of the actual cost of a membership...and you went too far with it. If you post the fees, I'll take down the review because they will speak volumes on their own. I stand behind what I said in my original post. Hiding behind a contract does not alleviate ethics. As consumers, we all put up with it to some extent but, this one was so excessive that I actually voiced my objections for once.

My family and I absolutely love this place! We have been members for three years now and after being members at other gyms in the area this is now my forever home. The staff is beyond friendly, the equipment has always been top notch and in my opinion just because it may not be glamorized like others the quality is what matters. The cardio equipment is frequently updated, the classes they offer are amazing as well. The way they have it set up allows you to utilize the entire gym and the space to do all different types of workouts. Weights, bands, ball exercises, core and a lot more I am probably not aware of. They have worked with me throughout the years if I was in a tough spot and I commend them for that! I have a family membership and it is 100% worth every penny! The pools alone are worth it and we even use the tennis courts as a family to play pickle ball. I can not say enough good things about the Racquet Club. Oh and if you are ever wondering, no we do not all work out in Louis Vuitton with Chanel shoes, ha ha ha. No one does, it is just a great clean place to feel good and work on your physical health.

Where do i start with this place?
Membership Fee: $80.00 a month
Sneaky Fee: They add another$30-$40 as a once a year fee on top of the membership fee
*Way over priced for what they provide.

Hours: They close at 9PM on weekdays and 8 PM on weekends. Also if you are in the pool, spa, sauana etc they will kick you out 30 mins earlier than the closing time.
*Worst hours in town compared to other gyms

Equipment: See the pictures, most of the equipment is always broken down and takes weeks even months to get repaired.
*Compared to other gyms there equipment is on the bottom end.

Building Stucture: It is very old and outdated. See pictures of the ceiling. Its a matter of time before a vent falls down on someone. Surprised Osha or the City Building or whoever would be responsible has not wrote a violation.
*Old outdated and even dangerous

Numerous members have gotten a foot fungus/virus from there locker room and there pool, jacuzzi, sauana, steam room area. The womens locker room smells horrible. I would assume the mens is worse. Someone recently went to the bathroom (human feces) in the steam room. Disgusting!!!
*Enter if you want a fungus/virus

The workout equipment is limited and the area is small. It gets so busy that you cannot get any equipment you want to use. Also there are also numerous groups of 3-5 people that take up all the room in the gym.
*To crowded and small

Now the only plus thing about this gym is that the front desk workers greet you with a smile and are very nice when you enter or leave.

Overall there are alot more fitness gyms that are cheaper and offer alot more. Seems to me it is an old business that they do not want to put money into to updating it but want to just collect the monthly dues and incrase the monthly dues with additional fee's they sneak in. Hours of operations are horrible as well. At least close a few hours later.

When I visit our family in Yuba City I always purchase a weeks membership. The facility is clean and expansive…very similar to an LA Fitness. The pool is small not unlike LA Fitness. I’ve been going to this gym for the last year and I absolutely love this gym, the equipments great, staff is amazing but man the hours do not make it worth $80/month. I understand that it’s a residential area and 24/hrs is not possible for the location but still for the monthly price not being able to open at 5:30am consistently throughout the week. It’s irritating to make work in my personal schedule personal schedule. Like I said the gym and everything they have to offer is great and I do recommend people. It’s Just my personal opinion that the hours do not justify the cost. That’s the only complaint I have aside from that it is a great gym.

I’ve been going to the Racket Club for 10 years and have been very impressed. In fact, recently, they have added Morning classes (5:15am) so that there is something each day: Body Shock, TRX (2 days), and Spin (2 days). The lead trainer, Irene, has made this happen and continues to show her dedication in improving the variety, quantity, and quality of these various classes.

With classes, tennis courts, pickle ball, swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), weights, machines, sauna, hot tubs, cold plunge, etc., there is no other gym within 50 miles that comes close to this facility.

Sketchy accounting. Warning to future members, I was told that since I cancelled this outdated gym the day my next dues were taken plus the extra $100 fee, that they would work with me on the situation, I thought I was in the clear, now many months later they want to add the another month fee plus late fee and send me to collections for $89. What a joke.

I WANT TO SHARE WHAT AN IMPORTANT ROLE THAT THE RAQUET CLUB HAS PLAYED IN MY LIFE. OUR FAMILY HAD A MEMBERSHIP FOR OVER 30 YEARS. OUR DAUGHTERS ENJOYED HOURS OF HEALTHY ATHLETIC AND SOCIAL TIME IN THE CLUB. MY HUSBAND, WHO HAS PASSED, SPENT MUCH TIME IN THE LAP POOL UP UNTIL THE TIME HE COULD NO LONGER SWIM BECAUSE OF BRAIN CANCER. I SPENT HAPPY HOURS IN THE LAP POOL AND THE TREADMILL-I RAN INTO MANY OLD FRIENDS AT THE CLUB DURING MY WORKOUTS.

THE CLUB IS VERY WELL RUN -CLEAN, OFFERS A VARIETY OF HIGHLY DEMANDED SERVICES, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY TO ME, ACCOMODATING TO INDIVIDUAL NEEDS. AFTER MY HUSBAND DIED, I MOVED TO NATOMAS AND HAVE NOT FOUND A CLUB THAT MEETS THE HIGH STANDARDS OF YUBA CITY HEALTH CLUB

YC Racquet Club reduced it's closing hours from 10pm to 9pm on weekdays (8pm on weekends) because of COVID approx. 2 years ago. Now YC Racquet Club refuses to extend the closing hours back to 10pm weekdays/9pm weekends. Can't get a good work out and sauna when people are being ushered out at 8:45pm weekdays/7:45pm weekends. Will go to a local health club that closes at 11pm. What good is "The Best Yuba Sutter Health Club" if one can't use it. Management is too inflexible!

This is the best place to come Yuba City Racquet & Health Club. I like coming here to work out. The best is going swimming or doing leg, arm exercise in the water it really helps me to stay in shape. I really need to go back and rejoin again. This health club is really clean and should be rated at 10 Stars. Price is a little high but they should have something where if you join and you can bring a friend or family member with you.

Always a pleasant experience. I haven’t been in for over a year and I was greeted by name. Facilities were clean and as I’ve grown to expect.

Love this gym, so family oriented. Super clean, quiet, busy but they have so many machines you never have to wait. Their employees care and it shows. More expensive then other gyms but 100% worth it. No hidden fees, everything like lockers, towles, daycare, 4 pools, and who knows how many classes all included in your membership. One of the few gyms that let 12 and old older work out. Also I go with my 2 kids and it definitely feels safe and not club like

Absolutely terrible customer service. Don't forget to read the small print. Either they are desperate for memberships or they have so many memberships they could care less. My advice: save $50 per month and go to one the newer gyms in town.

YCRHC is ok, if you were a member 10 years ago its about the same today. I've been a member off and on for about eight years. The only updated equipment is the cardio machines. Old does not mean bad but some of the gear is in dire need of replacement. This is also not a cheap club expect to pay 30% more than the competition but I think the cost does keep the membership small so its not completely packed during peak hours. It's surprisingly dirty for the older more affluent clientele the club caters, there are used towels all over the floor and in the showers on the men's side. The pool is clean in the morning but gets pretty dirty latter on it's being used constantly which is good but it would be a lot better if the outside pool was large enough for lap swimming and heated like In-Shape pools. Plus, if you are a lap swimmer there are only two lanes that you can really swim in due to the rounded shape of the pool. Also, during the day the pool is taken over by older water aerobics types who have told me to slow down so I don't make waves and ruin there perms. If you swim laps in the morning you need to show up at least 15 minutes before the club officially opens there are two elderly swimmers/water walkers who have keys to the facility and try to take the only two usable lap lanes. If your there they have to let you in and if your fast you can beat them to the pool they will give you mean looks but it turned into a game for me. Unfortunately, there are not really and great gyms in Yuba City either they are full of gang bangers or they will not actually let you work out (Planet Fitness) so considering the competition YCRHC is ok.

Courts need some work
Service is subpar....waited nearly an hour at the facility for help and just gave up
Unfortunately as with everything else in Yuba there are just no other better options

More than 20 years later, we decided to visit our hometown of yuba City after moving away, and come down to the racquet club. Even still, the quality of the gym and the customer service is absolutely stellar. Terry was very welcoming and Ashley was kind and helpful. Can't wait to visit again!! A+++

We left In-Shape for YCRC and what a great decision it was for us as a family. I liked In-Shape but we didn't feel like it was a home for our entire family. Here, we love the flexibility of all the swim options and the amazing child care facility. It is a little pricier but worth every cent. Family time to us is pricelessπŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ’πŸ½

By far the best gym I've ever been to. Friendly staff, clean facilities , free classes and many extras. Plus they are the only place in NorCal area with a cold therapy dip pool.
