Fantastic facility and programs! Highly recommend:) My five year old daughter has been attending classes at the North location since the beginning of the year and absolutely loves it. The coaches are wonderful and the office personnel are kind and helpful as well. All around positive experience. It has been really fun to see her blossom into a little athlete!

As a former gymnast, I was so happy to find an adult gymnastics group and class in Denver! I can’t believe I went from a handstand to a front handspring in the same class! I feel like I’m getting back to the gymnast I was 30 years ago!

Olga and Alex Svitlychny both teach my 2 children, and they are amazing coaches, I have been thoroughly impressed and very much love how attentive and kind they are. All of their knowledge is amazing. Hands down, they are two of the best coaches I have ever seen and / or have had the pleasure of working with. They are amazing, all praise to them and their hard work. I HIGHLY suggest seeing if you can get your kids into private lessons with them as well.

I’m in the adult gymnastics classes on Fridays at the north location. The only good thing is the coaches are nice and knowledgeable.
I’ve learned the more I’ve gone that the fact they have beginners mixed with advanced gymnasts is frustrating, as a beginner it feels like you get minimal hands on help and another attendee and I joked that we were being as productive as if we just went to a trampoline park because we basically got no help and just kind of did our own thing for an hour.
The biggest frustration, however, is their ‘attendance policy’. I’m paying a lot of money for something I’m trying to enjoy, and the past few weeks I’ve been severely ill. If I DID attend I wouldn’t be able to do much without throwing up or needing to sit out with a migraine for the majority of the class, but I didn’t attend because I have consideration for the other members who I don’t want to risk getting the same illness. It feels like I’m getting punished for this as I’m only allowed one single make up class…that makes it really frustrating for me because I’m paying a lot and feel like if I have life happen at all I’m not allowed to miss classes. I also imagine this is how the people who have to drive far to make classes in heavy snowstorms we’ve had for multiple classes feel. Tonight my baby has fallen ill and now I’m worried about him and am staying home to make sure I don’t have to rush him to the doctor so it’s just another paid class wasted. I’m going to cancel but naturally have to pay for a full extra month. It’s very frustrating and I don’t get the benefit.

Edit - 1/23/24 We attended this gym for around 6 years, and loved it until fairly recently. I had to pull my daughter from classes this past summer due to circumstances beyond our control, but we had made a plan to pay for private lessons to maintain her skills until the next competition season, where we were going to re-test to see if she still had the skills needed for team. However, once we began our temporary leave, communication ceased. We were never able to arrange for private lessons, and when I reached out to ask if/when she could test for team, we were told that she would "be a better fit for rec". This despite competing for several years with the team prior, and an understanding that she would be trying out for the team again this year. I wouldn't be upset if we were told this after she tried out and her skills had gone down, but we were told this after the gym completely reneged on their agreement for what our temporary leave would look like. 5280 used to be a great gym. But a revolving door of coaches (at least at the Xcel level), couple with the horrible attitudes of the “higher ups” have really negatively impacted this gym and the quality of instruction the kids get. It’s a great gym for DP level, but anything else—I’d go somewhere else.
I just finished reading all of the reviews 5280 Gymnastics has (on here and on another review site), and thought I'd throw in my two cents. My daughter is 3 years old and in the preschool program with Coach Calvin. He is young but is amazing with the littles. My daughter adores him and she has learned so much in the 3-4 months since we've started here. Previously, she attended a different gym and skills were not fostered like they are at 5280 Gymnastics.
Next: The place is dusty; it is not dirty like I've seen it implied elsewhere. I'm not sure you can expect a place that takes gymnastics seriously and has so many participants in an open floor plan building to not be dusty from chalk. Apart from the chalk dust, the place is well cared for and clean.
Office/Office staff: We had a hiccup the first time they closed (for Memorial Day) and we weren't notified. The following week I stopped into the office and politely let them know about how we weren't notified, and she apologized and made sure she had all of our contact information input correctly into the system. Now we receive emails and phone calls when there is a closure of any kind. We've never had a billing issue, and it's easy to pay online. The office staff even informed us they'll start taking credit cards soon, which may make things even easier with regards to payment options.
My daughter has had a couple of substitutes: one when her normal coach was out of town and twice when we had scheduled makeups. The girls who taught her class were respectful and worked well with the kids. The only criticism I have is that while Coach Calvin uses the technical terms for what he has the kids do, the other two coaches used "cutesy" names and my daughter was a little lost/confused for a second each time because of that.
Their pricing is competitive with other gyms; in fact, we're paying a few dollars less each month for higher-quality instruction than we were paying at our previous gym.
My last point is for the seating. While it's true there isn't much seating (and the seating that does exist is up in the loft area, though you can look down on the whole gymnasium from there), I've never struggled to find a place to sit. Perhaps it's the day/time that we come? Maybe we've just been lucky? Whatever it is, I can't speak to the lack of seating comments I've seen in other reviews. We've never had a problem.
I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone who has a child interested in gymnastics and you want to foster that love. They'll learn a lot while having fun at the same time.

5280 Gymnastics has an outstanding team. Hannah and Coach Melinda helped our girls navigate difficult situations and give them age and skill appropriate challenges. Hannah has gone out of her way to make sure 5280 is an inclusive and welcoming gymnasium. We are very thankful for their individual contributions to create such a wonderful community. We highly recommend for all.

Our daughter has been going to 5280 for gymnastics for 3 years, starting in the preschool gymnastics and with great coaching has started working her way up the ranks, and we now have our younger son enrolled in classes here too. They cater to both serious competitors and casual recreational gymnasts for both the girls and boys programs, and have a very impressive competitive record. More importantly to me, my kids get a good workout, feel the right level of challenge, like their coaches, and are proud of their accomplishments. They leave every class with a huge smile and a little more confidence.

“1. Poor management since JD and Donnie left this past summer.
2. Gymnasts pay the same price as everyone but only some kids are allowed the good coaches and training. While other groups have their coaches taken.
3. Parents disrespected and dismissed for concerns when it comes to their gymnasts training and not having the coaches for the gymnasts promised while paying the same price as the groups who have more hours and training and the coaches taken causing a complete cycle of losing coaches and still expected a high performance rate by the gymnasts instead of evaluating what the gym is failing to do for them.
4. Gymnasts have had to rely on themselves and their ability with limited training due to the instability and expectations even without the training.
5. Emotional abuse in the stress of having coaches taken from them for other groups deemed more important making the gymnasts training hard to be their best feel second class and less important or heard while expected progress without training, and watching coaches favoring one group of gymnasts over the other.

So I scheduled a class and went to the wrong location which is my fault. Jessica was awesome and so understanding with me and her communication skills were above the beyond. Jessica helped me reschedule my class and stoked to learn from the coaches here including Jessica.
I have always wanted to learn gymnastics and excited to begin my journey here at 5280. If you want to learn this is the place for adults and just make sure you pay attention to which location as it's easy to get them confused. A lot of us make that mistake and thankfully experienced a kind interaction while feeling frustrated at myself. Her active listening skills really brought some sunshine in my day and Jessica has great customer service skills. Thanks so much Jessica, your amazing.

It took me four calls to get a message back about enrolling my child here. When I finally got someone on the phone they seemed annoyed and gave us very little information, said they were full. My daughter was interested in this location because they bus to and from her daily school. All the person I spoke with wanted to tell me after I pushed the subject was to call back in June 2022 - no wait list. No pricing. No nothing. They didn't seem welcoming or interested in ever having our business, or even wanted to tell us anything about their services. My kid and I were disappointed.

(5280 North review) Do not take your 4 year-old here for preschool classes unless you want their confidence destroyed. My daughter was here for about 3 months with Coach Alyncia, mid. feb.2021-may 2021. My child was always being yelled at by her, and my daughter is a sweet girl, who has no issues at her regular preschool. In fact all the children were always being yelled at, (I knew all their names, they were yelled at so often. I also saw many kids come and go). Coach Alynica looks miserable the whole time while she teaches and seems very frustrated with the kids.
Coach's would also make kids sit on a wall to listen to long instructions, kids would get bored and become sidetracked, then they would get yelled at, when its the coach's fault in the first place for poor classroom management skills. My daughter was also yelled at for not doing all the moves correctly, very strict on the kids and also not big on letting them make friends, or have fun, these are 4 year olds!!!!!! I then switched my daughter to coach Taylor's class instead. Well first day coach Taylor PUNISHED my daughter for not listening and didn't let her jump on the trampoline (this was the last straw). My daughter was very upset, crying hysterically and did not understand why she was the only one who didn't get to jump. Coach Taylor did not even give her the time of day to make this situation right or explain things to her.
I tried two different coaches because I was very unhappy with the first one... well the second one was just as bad. Mostly, all the coaches are bad, the only good one from hearsay apparently is Hannah and her class is full. The rest need to learn to teach better. Stay away from this gym!!!!!! They don't know what the hell they are doing when it comes to teaching young kids, nor do they care about giving your child an awesome experience. Its like they slapped this class together, so they can generate more income and don't care who is qualified or not. I looked at their job posting for preschool coach recently on their website and under qualifications it says there are none, they will teach you, something so wrong about this. Preschoolers can be very hard to teach and having someone with zero experience with kids teach a whole classroom seems very wrong to me. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!!!!!

5280 Gymnastics is an amazing world class facility! That’s right, not just in the USA, but the world! This gym already produced a couple elite Olympians including Alexander (Sasha) Artemev (Bronze medalist champion from Beijing, 2008) and 2021Tokyo hopeful, Yul Moldauer!
My two boys have been members of this gym for a few years now- one is on the competitive team, the other enjoys the recreational practices! It is definitely a kid approved gym! Both boys love their coaches and enjoy their practices! It is really rewarding to watch them grow and constantly improve their gymnastics skills with a smile on their face.
The coaches are awesome! They are friendly, professional and they truly care for our athletes with all their hearts. It is noticeable they feel it is not only their profession, but it’s their passion too! They know how much to push and challenge a kid to get them to the next level of skill. It is done with such finesse, that the children do not even notice. Basically, it feels like each athlete experiences an individually “tailored” program, based on their needs and progress. Coaches are not only training them gymnastics skills, but also incorporating values such as respect, integrity, humility, team work, and determination. They are always encouraging and inspiring. My sons are stronger, flexible, more focused and disciplined because of 5280 Gymnastics. This gym made us feel like we were at our second home from day one!
From a practical stand point, the gym offers an online access to stream our children's class during their practice from anywhere - that is an amazing feature! Also, there is Wifi at the facility, which is a great perk for working parents, if they have to sit and wait for the class to finish.
I've recommended this gym to my friends whose children have joined and they love it too! If anyone is looking for a healthy after-school activity for their kids, this is the place!
Finally, a noteworthy fact is 5280 Gymnastics trained many athletes (boys and girls) who were recruited and awarded college gymnastics full ride scholarships.
With the new times now of COVID-19, 5280 Gymnastics is very “sterile”and compliant with all the health departments recommendations. All precautionary measures are implemented and not limited to checking temperatures daily, provide constantly hand sanitizers, daily cleanings and disinfection!

We’ve only been a few times for pay your age open play. My 1.5 year old runs for 90 mins and has a blast! It’s hot, but oh well, you’re running around. Who cares about the WiFi...go outside. Or better yet, spend some actual time with your kids instead of whining about Internet. Bathrooms were incredibly clean. The staff was great. Very friendly. We’re going back every Tuesday and Thursday for as long as this program is offered.

Hot , crowded and a staff that could use a crash course on nurturing talent and children of all ages. Thought it might be just me till one of our daughter's teachers let us know she went to 5280 herself for years. She doesn't recall a single week in the years she was going there when she didn't go home and cry. So if you want to return to a gym and philosophy stuck in the 1970's this is your place, otherwise look elsewhere. and yes the wifi sucks, the bathrooms are dirty. this place needs a complete over haul. physically and mentally.

NOT IMPRESSED!!!! It was not a good fir for our child, others may have a better experience. I agree with others who have posted, that the coaches are rude, lack empathy and the love a mentor needs to bestow upon their students. It's easy to bark stern commands, stopping and connecting is very difficult and not all place have that capacity. In my opinion, this place lacks the leadership quality needed to bring out the best in your child.

I gave this gym a 5 star review as related to the coaches, which at the end of the day, is probably the most important element with regard to gymnastics. Our daughter joined the 5280 North JO team after having a very rough, unstable, and demoralizing experience at a nearby gym that she attended for about 18 months. We were seeking a gym that would help reinstate confidence in herself as a gymnast, renew her love of the sport, and believe in her ability to work hard and improve while being trained by a stable group of career coaches that were professional and dedicated. She has now been at this gym for a year and the experience is night/day compared with her former gym. Mikah, the head coach, heard our concerns and our daughters goals and installed a plan to help her achieve that goal (working her way up to Optionals). Coach Mikah identified our daughters weaknesses in certain areas, was willing to dedicated her time to training her by creating a plan (which required extra conditioning, privates, and clinics) in order to get her up to par. This also meant working with other great coaches including Megan, Sean, Maddie, and Michelle in addition to Mikah in order to help her focus on skill building, form, shaping, and confidence building. Fast-forward one-year and with hard work, dedication, commitment and an investment of time and money, our daughter achieved her personal goal and now identifies herself as a real "gymnast" while successfully reaching her goal of becoming an Optionals level gymnast! When evaluating the other aspects of 5280 North, there are some areas that have struggled such as communication, billing, facility, and parking at times, but I do acknowledge that the owner, Beth Trammell, has made efforts to work on improving these areas. So, if for whatever reason you don't get an immediate response from them, try again, don't take it personally, and recognize this is an area that they are trying to improve.

Coach Calvin was amazing, we had another really sweet coach working with my 3YO on Friday nights, however, since December there have been more cancellations than gymnastics sessions for my preschooler due to meets, and really couldn't make up as many as we were missing. I think that 5280 is probably a good spot for older children, but doesn't seem to have much focus on its preschool classes, we were directed here by a friend for their excellent coaching and that's certainly been our experience when we've been able to participate. Just need more consistency to keep a young child interested and engaged in the activity than we're getting.

Do not book your birthday party with the 5280 South Gym. We booked my daughter's 6th birthday party here on February 11th, after it taking almost 2 weeks to contact people and get the right information of how to book. They didn't answer the phones during business hours, and took a while to get back to me when leaving a message. I over looked that and went into the South Gym 2/11/17 and paid a $65 cash deposit and filled out a form for her party on March 5th and 3pm.
The days before the party we tried contacting just to confirm and ask a couple last minute questions, and could not get a hold of anyone. On Sunday, March 5th we showed up at the gym at 2:35 to set up for the party at 3. The doors were locked, and no cars where in the lot. No one was in the gym to open it or supervise the party for us. We tried calling them and were even calling the North Gym to find someone who could help us figure out what was happening. No one would answer or call back. We had to re-route all the friends and family to a nearby park. Despite the winds and the kids being cold because they were dressed for an indoor gymnastics party, the kids played and had fun.
However, I have left messages each day, called during business hours, and no one has called me back to explain or rectify what in the world happened. It is now Tuesday, and since Sunday we have not heard anything from them. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but did not want any parent to have to go through the same situation. Having a kid tour the party location, then get excited for a month to have a gymnastics party, only to have it be cancelled while we are at the location, was not a fun birthday surprise. I get that mistakes are made, but find it utterly incompetent and disrespectful that a service I paid for has not been given, and no one has had the decency to call me back about it.

Beware of their head coach Mikah Hammond, who coaches North girls team from level 5 and up. VERY emotionally abusive inadequate coach and person. Your child can be thrown out of the practice (for the entire practice, sometimes for days or weeks in a row while of course you continue to pay the bill) just because they didn't do their cast off the bar the way she wanted them to (without being given a second chance) or did their press-handstand too close to their friend.
Our daughter started showing alarming signs of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) just short TWO months after moving up into Mikah's group. She started waking up with nightmares multiple times every night, some of them were very gory and disturbing (a couple of examples of her nightmares: coach Mikah slicing girls' throats or lining them up and deciding who's to live and who is to die). We had to get professional help for her to help her overcome her PTSD. A year later, every now and then she still wakes up saying that she saw a scary dream about Mikah. Management is well-aware and is supportive of Mikah's coaching "techniques". Since we left 5280, I have met at least 20 of other families who left 5280 because their children could no longer deal with Mikah's abusive coaching.
One more thing: when my daughter switched over to another gym near by, 5280 kicked my son out (he too was on the team) because they have a "siblings non-splitting policy" with few gyms. It was awful and so unfair. He was heartbroken and quit gymnastics. I know of at least two more families whose sons were too kicked out when their daughters were forced to switch gyms because of Mikah.
And finally, when I asked the manager Kim if she could offer his competitive uniform that was used just for one season to another family since my son was forced to leave 5280, she replied to me asking if I would remove my (negative) yelp review.
