Imagine paying your membership on time, showing up to work out with your friends, and then getting your fob blocked because management decided one of your friends must be their personal trainer.

Spoiler: she hasn’t trained anyone in months.

No warning, no call — just locked out. But the same manager who’s super friendly when convincing you to sign a contract? Not so friendly when it’s time to communicate or take responsibility.

Bonus points: half the treadmills don’t work, machines missing batteries, and mats blocking an exit. But sure, we’re the problem.

I experienced repeated, targeted questioning about whether I was “training friends” while exercising with friends that had memberships, which felt discriminatory especially after my fob was turned off without notice after I had told Margie in person when asked that I was not training people. Several pieces of equipment were broken or missing batteries (we had to bring our own) — very disappointing service and unsafe. Would give 0 stars if I could!

Thieves. I started a membership there. I called to cancel and they referred me to a third party to cancel. Although the third party acknowledges I called to cancel they continued to bill me for an extended period of time. They then sent me to collections for services I requested cancelled and did not use.

I really like this gym... this 5 star review is for the gym itself with a caveat at the end.

The gym is large, spacious with pretty much everything you would need to get a good workout in, and the most popular equipment systems have multiple iterations.

I came in the 5th of July and it was a very busy Saturday but it never felt like people were on top of each other or that you had to wait for any equipment because, like I said, multiple iterations.

The gym is on a street with a fishbowl like window setup, but the street didn't have a great deal of foot traffic so the more self conscious need not worry of gawkers.

The main floor space is dedicated to weight training but there are 2 elements, a multipurpose space and studio space that have sufficient space.

The equipment is in fine working order, the gym itself and the bathrooms are clean and everything is spaced out well. All that AND a hacksquat machine; 5 stars all day.

Outside of some paint peeling on the duct work and a vent that could use a serious dusting I really didn't see anything amiss with the overall quality of the gym.

With all that being said, the caveat; In the hundreds of Anytimes I have been to I have never seen so many complaints on business practices that span such a long period, like seven plus years. I'm just a traveler and cannot say one way or the other, though often times ppl leave bad reviews because they think signing a contract means they can quit 3 months in without paying for breaking that contract. But SO many complaints? Either the Brighton Anytime needs to be better at communicating what is expected of their members in regards to the contract or the reviews are right and something is rotten here.

If you're looking for a gym in the area, this is a great one. Just make sure you read the contract fully and keep a copy for yourself. You can check out the 1 start reviews if you want more context.

LISTEN TO ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! Do not sign ANYTHING. THIS PLACE IS THE EPITOME OF DISHONESTY. I am in shock at the nerve of the owner and employees of this franchise. When I signed up I was told I could bring one guest as many times, this was not a contract and I could cancel ANYTIME for free after 3 months. 5 months after I decide I want to cancel because this place is not worth the outrageous rate. Cardio machines are constantly broken or they stop out of nowhere, the gym is tiny and musty and the rest of the machines feel like they’re falling apart they would all benefit from some W-40. Obviously everything I was told was a lie because I was NOT allowed to bring a guest as many times as I wanted. After one week they had to get their own membership. Turns out the membership IS a contract because you can only cancel by 50% buyout or some uncommon reason like you’re moving or have a medical condition. The employee who signed me up was nothing but LAZY because he couldn’t bother to do his job right and throughly explain so you really understand what you’re signing. As a customer you trust the employee, you trust the company hires honest, competent people. He deliberately gave me misinformation to secure a sale. This place can only stay in business from all the money grabbing schemes because there’s no way people are actually happy with this place. They have a fee for EVERYTHING if you want to freeze your account they charge you $2:50 every two weeks. Like I mentioned previously if you want to cancel you have to pay 50% buyout. The rate is $50 every month you do the math on that! If you value your hard earned money DO NOT go there! To make matters worse, if you want to cancel they will give you a bunch of bs excuses as to why they can’t. Reality is that PER THEIR POLICY they reserve the right to cancel memberships for ANY REASON they just chose not to bc they suck :)

I love that this gym is open at all hours. The music has been playing during the early morning hours and that's awesome. This gym has everything to help my husband and I get to that next level of fitness. Margie fixed some machines promptly when broken and is very knowledgeable with fitness.

Came here for a day while on vacation for thanksgiving. Staff was super friendly and allowed me to workout there free for the day. Plenty of equipment to use and multiple wipe stations to sanitize equipment. Only thing I disliked about the gym was that their water fountains were out of order and there was no where to refill my water bottle. Overall pretty nice gym.

Do not sign up for this bs. I saw they had a 1$ promotion to try for 2 weeks then it switches to 25$ every other week. Tried to cancel it, which you cannot unless you move, get injured and give them doctor proof that you can’t work, or buy out. They will not tell you about any of this at the gym. During you moving or being injured you still have to pay the membership until they process everything through their system. The buyout option will cost you about 650$. So unless you plan to go to this gym for the next 3 years do not sign up.

I gave 2 stars tonight bc I decided to take a shower after my workout, I just run short on time in the a.m. before work, so I thought this would be a great alternative! Well if you like COLD showers the far right shower is for you. I like warm, even hot showers... If you enjoy freezing temps 🥶🥶 this is for you. I literally had it all the way up, lathered and could barely touch my skin with the ice water. Idk if it's turned off at night or if they just want you to take short showers or??? My hair is down to my butt, no shower is ever fast enough for a cold shower. Very disappointed. Will be trying other locations.

Don't choose another gym until you have tried their amazing Precor AMT elliptical machines! They don't limit your stride like all other ellipticals. It must be a patent. I stopped going to another gym because they didn't have these. I like bringing up material to read on my phone while doing cardio without thinking for an hour, and these machines make it easy.

I really like this gym, I like the fact that it is 24/7 and you can scan your key at the door instead of checking in with someone at a desk. They have gotten some new different equipment and I hope they get more here in the future. I like to go to some of their classes they offer, and Lea Anne is the best pilates instructor!

I worked out here for a few months while out of state for work. I used the showers a lot while living out my camper. This is a very nice gym well maintained/ clean and a good environment all around. As other reviewers have stated they are a predatory business or owner /management and will squeeze every single dime possible out of you doing everything on their hands to prevent you from cancelling and continue to collect fees.

They clearly have no business ethics.

If there's something that irks me is a business that is as corrupt as this.

I was attended by whom seemed the owner as she got quite defensive when requested theemebership be cancelled as had done everything possible to cancel and had not been cancelled months later.

Stated that due to "not making a payment" it could not be cancelled.in thory if there's a payment missing does that mean you automatically renew the contract?

This company, or their billing dept, has predatory charging practices. They offer a service but won't let you cancel without limitations and ask for proof with a dozen other factors before considering it. I'm contacting BBB and blocked them via my CC company. There's no doubt they'll throw me into collection, so we will be going to court.

We are now the past the two year mark and called to cancel so we are no longer charged and somehow, the account shows we are on the 3 year plan and now have to pay half of the years worth of a contract we didnt sign up for to get out of this. I don't recommend getting involved with this gym. I signed up for 7 day free trial. Was able to use it on the first day. On my second visit (3rd day of the trial), the fitness manager (Margie) did not want to honor the rest of the free trial and said I would need to pay the daily admission ($10) to use the gym. I showed her the email containing the details of my trial pass (free, no obligation, etc.) and her only rebuttal is that she claims that a lot of people had been taking advantage of the trial pass and she owns the gym and therefore she doesn't have to accept the terms. In the end, she allowed me to workout that day but will not allowed future free trial admissions. I called the Anytime Fitness customer service and they were no help as well.

Regarding the gym itself, you will need to bring a water bottle for the dispenser because the drinking fountain is still broken (as you can see in one of the pics). To clean the equipment, they offer hand towels and spray bottles. The equipment is basic and in good condition. I did notice a tanning bed but it looks outdated and abandoned. During my visits (around late afternoon), there wasn't a lot of people so it wasn't crowded.

One of the worst gyms Ive been with. There is equipment that's been broken for months/years. Damaged/unusable fixtures ie: water fountains, holes in walls, broken mirrors being held on by tape. They charge an annual fee for fixing stuff but nothing changes. The music nobody listens to is always blaringly loud as well. As soon as another 24hr gym opens in Brighton, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Like most members I was “ tricked “ into the contract. There’s problem #1. #2 is the fact that this gym was hardly ever cleaned, floors were never swept it seemed, worst by far was the bathrooms. Constant plumbing problems leaving toilets full of human waste. Working bathrooms always had hair in the sink and razors left in the showers. The showers never had hot water and the bathrooms them self never felt safe considering there were only 4, only 3 actually had showers. Problem #3 is false advertising, the spring slim down 6 week challenge never came through with all its promises. I was never once walked through nutrition and the best way to go. I only received short answers such as “ eat brown rice instead of white “. Never actually learned about nutrition, the classes themselves were fun, except when Margie keeps nagging at you to stop messing with your watch when your simply counting your time. Also when scheduling couldn’t work out because the trainer was always “short on time “ we wouldn’t get through everything and she changed our schedule for check in or the makeup gym class. Which would cause the class to be out of luck if we had to work for when she would change the class days.
Problem #4, staffing issues. Margie herself is a nice person in my opinion, however as a trainer I do not believe she suits the position. When ever I asked for help on things such as health or other concerns she just always seemed troubled to even look away from her computer screen. She was friendly with all the older ones in class taking about the “ yellow stone “ show, but normally short with me, she even got my name wrong 95% of the time.
Other gym members were nice and wonderful conversation, sadly that isn’t enough to keep someone’s business. Though I did enjoy 1 year of my membership this gym just isn’t for me. I only hope this place can grow in the future.

Do not get a membership here unless you love going through the hassle of canceling, you have to go thru a 3rd party to cancel. (And I got the month to month contract) They can not help you in the office. Also, all gyms have their own rules and restrictions. Be sure to read the agreement before signing anything. I got my membership here in Brighton with bring a friend, then went to a Anytime Fitness in Denver area and they said I couldn't bring a friend.

Management at this location is very unprofessional. The turn over rate for employees is ridiculous. I see why though, Margie is a very unlikable person. She is apathetic towards people's feelings or thoughts. She has no problem being rude to her customers. No problem hanging up on her customers. Especially when you are trying to take care of your cancelation process.Do not go to this gym, it can be dirty as well and always a new employee to deal with. One of the reasons I am on the situation I am in now because her employer failed to complete my process of cancelation. Margie says one thing and doesn't follow through as a manager. Beautiful facility. They manage to pack a lot of equipment into the gym without making it feel stuffy. There are four power racks, a Smith machine, plenty of cardio equipment and lots of weight machines. There's also a great stretching area and plenty of bands, dumbells, and some kettle bells, along with plenty of pull up bars. Margie, the manager, is incredibly nice and professional. She helped me sort out a billing issue that was entirely my fault. She really went the extra mile and it ended up helping me tremendously. The facility is always spotless, and there are plenty of towels and disinfectant bottles to make sure the equipment you're using is sanitary. My only interactions with the staff have been entirely positive, and the members are all polite and respectful. Having 24 hour access is amazing. I've used one of their other locations and had great experiences there as well.
.Definitely recommend this place.

Not enough equipment for the amount of people that are members here. The tanning bed is ALWAYS broken so don't bother to get a membership for that. They had one old scale there and when I told the Manager it was broken she tried to weigh me and tell me it wasn't and I weighed 8 pounds less than I did a few days before. Now its been removed and so their solution is no scale now. Must be nice to work there, the staff doesn't do anything but hangout and be rude.

Follow up to add the manager harassed me for leaving this bad review. I ended up never returning and paying 1.5 years more of this membership and never went back. Do not go here!!!!!

And even in the pandemic, they did not freeze my account like I requested. They are of no help and even after my two year contract expired I am still getting payments pulled from my bank account?? I have been trying to cancel my membership since OCTOBER. I was told when I signed up I would be able to pay a 50$ fee and then I would be able to cancel. It is now February and I can reach them and I have had to reach out to corporate. I have been trying to cancel my account for so long due to COVID restricting availability but also the risk to my own health. Just because they do not require their members to wear a mask. But now almost 6 months later I am still facing this. I found out that the account was sent to collections for 1200$!!!! I was shocked to find this out and immediately reached out to corporate again. I strongly advise that you think twice before coming here. The communication and billing company are horrible. Not to mention that I even tried to pay this and the billing company was going through a merger and couldn't process my payment. The real kicker is that I have proof, with emails between me and the billing company. Simply put this is anyones worst gym nightmare, I will continue to try to fix this but trying to get into contact with my local club is very difficult.

I’ve been going to this gym for about 2.5 years now, and Margie, the manager, has always hooked it up for me. She knows fitness, she’s very knowledgeable in regards to diet and training, and is willing to work with people. One of the better gyms I’ve attended by far.

I was so excited when I found out this gym was open. I am a gym rat and I also use working out as a stress reliever. I spoke with Margie over the phone and she easily signed me up and booked me out for my gym sessions. I was super impressed with the equipment, the cleanliness, and the staff. I had a great experience here overall. The only reason I left was because I have a gym in walking distance that finally opened. Thank you to Margie and all the staff for being so kind and helpful. I appreciate you all.

Do not join this gym. I signed up at this gym because they were the first to open in the area due to COVID. It’s about 40 minutes away from my house. I signed up because the manager told me the locations closer to my home would be open within the week. She also told me my membership allowed me to use any other open location. It was all a lie. The other gyms were not opening and you can’t use other gyms for 30 days until your access fob is activated. I tried to cancel my service and the manager would not help. As far as I was concerned my contract was null and void due to the lies the manager signed me up under. She later hung up on me on the phone while I tired to sort the issue out and reason with her. My recommendation, DO NOT join Anytime Fitness. Their customer service is awful and good luck getting anyone on the phone to handle it. Someone should fire this manager.

This is a great gym! I love the classes that are offered, yoga, barre, cycle, zumba, take your pick! Everyone is friendly and has great gym etiquette. The staff are wonderful people, very helpful with any fitness goals and do a great job at keeping it clean and sanitized! Have recommended to all my friends and family.

I have been a member of this gym since it opened 3 years ago. It is a great place to workout, clean, organized and plenty of equipment. The best part of this gym are the group exercise classes. There are lots of options and at a variety of different times. My work schedule is highly variable but since classes are offered every day of the week and at multiple times I can usually attend several classes per week. Margie is an awesome instructor and is very knowledgeable as well as friendly and helpful.

I love this gym!!!! I go all different hours of the day and it is never super crowded. You can tell the people going are dedicated and don’t sit around on machines. The people have been very respectful with asking if i am using something before taking or my favorite, they actually clean the equipment! It’s well ventilated so these days I’d much rather smell the scent of cleaner then sweat. The manager works hard and is constantly cleaning, Working or even teaching the classes. She could use some help in there so i take it upon myself to let her know if i see something that needs some attention and she’s on it. Don’t leave negative reviews just because your having a bad day or hide behind google.

As a senior woman, I felt a bit intimidated about going to a gym to work out. I have been to other gyms and have found that this Anytime Fitness in Brighton is a great place. Margie has helped me in learning my way around the gym, and I credit her for helping me get into shape. I find the gym clean and friendly. Usually not too busy and I have never had to wait to use equipment.

I have no experience with this gym and never will. The negative review is for the flyer they left on my windshield, which I did not notice until I washed my windshield while driving. The result was it sticking to my windshield and blocking my field of view for a good few seconds. Scary, but nothing happened and it flew off, littering the street. Thanks for the scare!

Terrible company as a whole. Equipment is primitive, the tanning beds are tiny, and getting out of your contract requires a copy of the Declaration of Independence. My gf and I moved. I’m still waiting on one more piece of mail to cancel mine but hers was canceled over two months ago. They recently sent her an email saying that her proof wasn’t good enough and they’d be reinstating her contract. They also let her know in order to cancel we will have to pay another cancelation fee plus a months membership fee. Just curious how that’s even legal, given we have a confirmation email for the cancelation. Hmmm...good thing our bank is taking our side on this one. 😉. It’s a shame that businesses will actually steal from people. This doesn’t look good on a company this size wanting a good reputation. The BBB is being contacted with all the details as well. Great gym...you guys have to change that nasty smelling green cleaner, probably Simple Green(which is toxic to some people and should only be used in well ventelated areas). This is my second time here and after 2 hours each time my nose will not go blind! It smells like working out in a janitors supply closet with the door closed. Try peroxide or vinegar. There are much better options than the noxious fumes that are coming from one of the 20 spray bottles in the gym.

Love this gym! They have lots of equipment, including dumbbells and squat racks, and a great array of classes. Mark and Margie are super friendly and helpful and keep the place clean and well stocked. I work out during lunch or in the evenings and the people who are working out there at the same time are friendly, and while I enjoy not feeling like I am working out alone, there are never so many people that I can't get on a rack or machine that I want. Between the classes and equipment (and tanning bed) this gym has something for everyone!

I used this facility 3 times. I can't go back. The music is loud, the equipment is all cramped together, and every time I went I felt panicked and would have to go home and hide in a dark room with a headache.
I was worried about this when I signed up, over the phone, and I was told that "I could cancel it if I needed to, it's only a $50 fee."
So when my schedule changed at work to where I could use my apartment's limited hourly facility, that has no music, I tried to cancel. Was told I couldn't because I lived within 10 miles of the facility (not what I was told when I signed up). Then I moved to live in my semi and get mail 255 miles away but they need a utility bill there and obvi, don't have one. So now they say...
You can only cancel if you pay 50% of 3 years of services ($630) plus a $35 cancel fee notice, plus a $50 fee. Or you can continue to pay while you save up that much money, or get a doctor's note (at $250 a visit???) stating that you have a serious medical disability that prevents you from exercise (I can exercise, just not there) and continue to pay while we wait for it, and then there's still the $35 cancel fee plus $50 fee.
So...I posted this review and got a callback from Mark and he cancelled it. One positive experience in the whole thing, after 3 hours of my day.

My daughter has had a membership at this club for a little over a year. We only signed a year contract, but noticed that we were still getting charged. She is not currently using the membership as much as she was in the beginning, so we called to cancel. They informed us that we would still have to pay for one more month of our membership because we have to cancel 30 days in advance and there are only 29 (!) days from today until our next payment is scheduled to go through. Remember - the yer contract we signed expired several months ago. This is how they treat their customers. Buyer beware.

I have been a member for two years. I have also tried just about all of the gyms in Brighton, including the recreation center. I have achieved so many goals with the help of the supportive staff. If you are serious about losing weight, toning up, there is a class, a piece of cardio equipment, or weights; both machine and free. Open 24/7, you can't go wrong here!

Gym has a room which you can pick from over 200 workouts then watch the instructor on big screen. Best thing is the Jacobs ladder ! Killer!

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!! We went in about a month ago and took the tour and we decided to sign up. Upon signing up they have you sign your membership on an IPAD which they quickly scroll you thru the disclosures! DO NOT LET THEM DO THAT. The fine print says you're signing a 3 year contract and they do not tell you that at all!!!!! Instead they make you sign and just tell you the monthly rate. Well when you go to cancel they then tell you that you you signed a 3 year contract and you can't break it! THEY ARE EXTREMELY DISHONEST PEOPLE and after calling the corporate billing company, they've indicated that they've got a lot of complaints from this location! BEWARE and do not let them make you sign anything before reading IT ALL. They are horrible horrible and rude people and I wouldn't waste any of your money! Go to the new Rec Center that just opened up about 5-8 miles south called Bison Rec Center in Commerce City!!!!!!!! Hope this helps save people in the future!

This place is awful, customer service sucks. They drug out a cancelation process over 2 months, just so they could get 2 extra months of membership fees and a cancelation fee. They they don't care about anything except your money, their ethics as a business and as people in general are highly questionable, the customer is never right to them, they are never there during office hours when they are supposed to be. 24 hour fitness is a much better establishment with cheaper membership fees, more equipment, and better all around gyms for your money.

This place sucks. DO NOT GO HERE if you are a serious lifter or like customer service. They continue to try and charge you for anything as a penalty ( IE Caulk, Weights being dropped, messes) of $25. The lead trainer was rude to me and my wife. She told my wife that she couldn't use her two week trial and had to sign up to come back the next day. The manager defended his employee basically calling me a LIAR to my face. Also the cream on the top is that if you work out in the morning there is a group of people in there all working out together and doing the same weight....but they take up EVERY barbell. Drive to Lifetime or go to SNAP. They strong arm you into a 3 year contract with auto-renewal...so basicly LIFE and you have to pay forever to get out of it or hundreds of dollars to get out of it. PLEASE STAY AWAY....I was a trainer at a chain gym and it wasn't anything like this.

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT HERE. THEY HAVE PREDATORY CONTRACTS AND VERY DIFFICULT ESCAPE CLAUSES. My husband and I moved suddenly due to his military service, and they were entirely unhelpful and even deceitful about what we would be paying. I was told that cancellation was simple and easy, and that my account was handled. They then charged me $170 behind my back to a closed credit card, before calling me and hounding me with late fees for charges that I didn't know I had incurred. They refused to waive any of the charges. I am incredibly dissatisfied and disgusted with this company and the way they do business. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.
