Dont sign a membership with this location! I want to say up front that my experience happened before covid so I have no idea how they are running this place now. After going through the reviews I am seeing they are doing the same thing to other customers too. When I went into their business to check it out and ask questions the employee convinced me to sign up for a membership. He told me it was easy to cancel if I wasn't fully satisfied. I regret not doing the trial because I would have soon realized that they never have parking when I wanted to go workout. I always had to park in a neighborhood and walk there. I always had an issue with people using all the machines that I was planning on using so I never had a satisfying workout with the limited equipment options. 6 months in I injured my knee and I tried to cancel my membership and it just wasn't an option. I wasted a years worth of money. I told them 6 months in advanced that I wanted to cancel. Told them again the month before my last payment after not using the gym that I want to cancel and they still charged me after my year contract. It was a nightmare.

This gym is the first location where I was very motivated to work hard. As much as it was because of the good equipment and the open environment during the odd hours, it was also because of the people that were there. Kenny does an excellent job at helping you learn how to better yourself at the gym and motivate you to keep coming back. When you ask and are willing to listen, you can learn a lot. The rest of the people at the gym have a wide range of ability, but everyone that I met there is very helpful and friendly. This is an excellent gym if you’re looking for a local place to try out.

I visited this location while in Colorado and was stoked to find that the vibes were just as high as my home gym on Maui! Well maintained, clean, a lot of variety in equipment, and a wonderful facility manager named Kenny, made my time in Golden better than I had expected... During Covid, we tried cancelling the membership. We contacted them numerous times to find a full voicemail. As months went by, we finally spoke with the manager. He said he would take care of it. My failure was not to follow up for a few months and again, I find they are still billing us. We called again, said they would handle it. He would call us back, no call back, and continued billing us. Almost a year later, I was still being billed, when FINALLY the same manager decided to let us know we needed to email a certain company to cancel. This was completely uncalled for. He knew all along we were to send an email, but just wanted our money. Shameful.

Went to the brewery next door and as we were walking in, saw someone park in the handicap spot in front of Anytime Fitness without a placard or plate and go into the gym. He was still parked there when we left 30 min later so I called Anytime Fitness to let them know. Turns out the owner answered and it was his Jeep!! He never once apologized and just made excuses for why he had to park there. I asked him if he knew it was unacceptable to park in a handicap spot and he laughed and told me “I’m the owner, nobody is going to move me”. This is insanely disrespectful to people with disabilities who need that space for ramps. The entire conversation there was no apology or acknowledgement that he was wrong. I cannot recommend anyone support this gym based on the horrible behavior and attitude of the gym owner.

Called the number listed online as well as the banner outside the gym itself. Wanted to learn more about membership options and set up a time to see the place. Left a voicemail and got a callback over 24 hours later from Kenny. Asked about rates and was told between 30 and 35 or 40 and 45 depending on if month to month or a signed contract. Asked specifically about availability of cardio equipment to assess whether the gym would work for my endurance training plan. The response I got was quite off putting. Regardless, I discussed setting up a time to check the place out because it is close to my home. Kenny agreed we could meet at the gym the following Sunday at 2PM for a quick tour. Sunday rolls around, I showed up at 2 and Kenny is nowhere to be found. Called the number listed on the building again and there was no answer. Left a voicemail. Waited around for a few more minutes, tried calling again, and then left. What a colossal waste of time!

I too have had problems with the dishonest marketing and billing practices of Anytime Fitness. I went in for the 'free trial membership'. After one week I decided the gym was not for me and informed them in writing and verbally. I have been dealing with a false claim that I entered a contract and an 'outstanding' billing claim of more than $400 and twice that in interest. Stay away from this outfit.

This gym and it's operators are deceitful - Like other reviewers, I too signed up for 'a free trial month' whilst home on leave from overseas in 2016 with the assurance that I could cancel. I cancelled in writing and verbally when my posting overseas was extended at the end of the month. Twice now, I have had debt collectors post to my credit report claims from Anytime fitness for outstanding amounts in excess of $400. The first was resolved in my favor, and the second is illegal as it relates to the same charge but from another debt collector. Avoid this outfit - it has no moral compass, it is impossible to contact on these matters and it will only cost you time and stress to resolve these issues.

Completely miserable experience, would rate lower if possible. Signed up for auto pay, never pulled the payment correctly and we were charged ridiculous late fees every single time. When our contract was up, they auto renewed us for two years and we never agreed to it. They had the wrong email for us so we never got the information they sent us, despite us telling them that was not our email address. We have since moved and are still trying to cancel, we have all the required info and it will likely still take at least two months. Thanks so much, I've never had such a terrible experience dealing with a company. I paid for an entire 18 month membership term upfront because my work covers a large portion of a membership, but I was still called by a collection agency monthly while I was a member for payments I did not owe. Once my membership had expired, I returned my key and did not renew because I moved. It's been over a year since I was a member and I'm receiving letters from a collection agency again for a membership I paid for in full, did not renew, and no longer have. I don't know how they keep track of payments. My receipt for payment was not entered into a computer and printed out, it was handwritten on outdated carbonless copy paper.

This gym has everything I need in one place. It has a nice amount of workout machines, multi-use squat racks, free weights and an open box area for aerobics, spin bikes, stretching, etc...

Kenny, the manager, is a great guy and always maintains the gym to the utmost standards. The floor plan is great and the bathrooms and changing rooms are always clean. Kenny was open and honest about helping me with my contract and helped me save money.

I recently moved to the Golden area, and stopped by the Anytime Fitness gym one day to ask the manager for a one-week free trial. Often times getting a free trial at a gym is not as straight forward as one may think. Some clubs require a small fee or keeping a credit card number on file in order to get a free trial. At this club, the manager was extremely polite and courteous, and gave me a free pass with no questions asked. That impressed me.

My one week trial was a pleasant experience, so I joined. Everyone has different criteria for what makes a gym a good place to work out. For me, it starts with the manager. I used to be a personal trainer in a high end club in AZ. My experience there taught me that a good gym starts with a good manager who is dedicated to the gym and its members, is a true fitness professional, and recruits quality members.

Another hallmark of a good manager is gym “presence”---someone who is available regularly at the gym, and lets the members know he/she is in authority (in a professional and polite way), and will uphold the rules of the gym---no matter how big, strong, or important the customers are. I will not join a gym unless I am impressed with the quality of the manager. Having said the above, I couldn’t be more impressed with the new manager, Kenny. He fits all the criteria mentioned above.

The gym has a nice mix of cardio and strength equipment. The free weight area is large enough to allow several members to work out there at the same time, and has plenty of benches. I have yet to meet a rude or inconsiderate member who has been irritating to be around. The gym has never been over-crowded. The gym has a nice (though small) classroom with everything you need for abdominal work and stretching (or martial arts), and has two large and pleasant bathrooms with showers that are kept very clean. And the manager maintains good floor presence and is always attentive to what is going on in the gym.

All in all, a great gym at a very reasonable price.

The gym itself is fine but the amount of hoops you have to go though to cancel your account is ridiculous. These are the steps I've gone though so far:
1. Call the gym requesting a cancellation. They informed me I had to call some centralized number to cancel my account.
2. After calling the second number I reached an automated system that presented me with a list of options, none of which were even remotely relevant to cancelling my account.
3. I guessed and said "cancel" to select the hidden cancellation option.
4. I was asked if I had an online account, said yes and the automated system told me that I can't actually cancel it over the phone, I have to look up the cancellation documentation on my online account.
5. I logged into the online portal and navigated the pages for quite some time looking for the cancellation section. Eventually I realized there was a small link at the bottom labeled "Cancel/Freeze Policy".
6. The link brought me to a PDF describing their policy. After reading it carefully I determined that I was required to give them 30 days written notice and that all communications must include my agreement number.
7. I went back the web portal looking for my agreement number but could not find it listed anywhere.
8. I called back the automated system, navigated to the secret cancellation dialog and told it that I didn't have an online account this time. This prompted the system to give my my agreement number.
9. The agreement number was raddled off extremely fast without any warning so I was not able to record it. It took three tries of this to ensure I had the correct number written down.
10. I sent the email submitting my 30 day cancellation notice.

This all feels like a labyrinth that was designed with great care with the sole goal of making cancellation so difficult that you'll just give up and keep paying.

That is as far as I have gotten for now. We'll see if my account is actually cancelled after the 30 days.

Edit:
A month later I was changed again. I called their support and they informed me that they never received the cancellation notification and asked me to submit it again. I asked if there was a way to not wait an additional 30 days and the agent asked me to forward the original email. I did and they immediately cancelled the account and refunded the extra month.It was annoying I had to go though this final step but they resolved it quickly and I was happy with the result.

I signed up in this gym a couple months ago and didn't read any reviews before doing so. From some of the reviews, you would think this gym to be the worst place. Not true. The staff are polite and knowledgeable (offered personal training). My goal was finding a gym where I could go any time for a serious workout, not wait in line for equipment, clean equipment and space. This gym fits for my use without any reservations or concerns. Firstly the gym looks kind of oldy goldy. The staffs are great but the I guess the management system is very bad. The terms in the contract are ridiculous. The places needs a face lift. And parking space needs to improve. If these things are taken care of probably you guys can earn popularity in Golden.

This is not a 1 star gym. The gym itself is a solid 3.5, maybe even a 4. I actually liked working out there. The gym was clean, well equipped and convenient for me this summer. I am giving one star because I was signed up for a lengthy contract when i specifically asked for month to month. I was only in the area temporarily and told the guy that when i signed up. I looked him right in the eye and asked if i was going to get wrangled into some crazy contract (Bally's anyone?) and he said no. When I called to cancel today I was redirected to another company that then informed me I was actually signed up for a contract to 2020! So...don't take the sales person's word for it. Read the contract thoroughly. After telling the other company my situation I was told that the branch would call me within 30 mins. An hour and 30 mins later the owner called me back and claimed it was a clerical error. I didn't like the way any of it sounded at all.
Like i said...3.5-4 star gym.

Since the new owners have taken over this place has got so much better. If you have not been here in awhile I really suggest that you give it a shot. So many things have improved and they now have great personal trainers!

This gym is run by tricksters. Do not sign up with them as they are tricking people into thinking its month to month and the contract is 3 YEARS. Beware! I was told the membership was month to month. The only reason I signed up was a lie the sales person told me that tricked me into signing up. All they say is that I signed a contract but not about the UNETHICAL SALES tricks they use to get you to sign up!

READ the cancellation part of the contract before an employee coax you into a gym membership you thought you could cancel at any time with a $50 fee. I was lied to. Now I am stuck with a 2 year contract. You can't get out of the contract unless you die and someone calls in for you to cancel payments.....or you can pay off the rest of your membership to cancel, which at that point you might as well keep going to a gym that makes you angry when your there because they fooled you into this financial burden.

This gym is under new ownership, management and personal training staff. All of which have been incredibly accomodating. I am traveling and wanted to switch gyms because Anytime Fitness has more locations than my old gym. The manager, Katie, was friendly, helpful and addressed all of my concerns. The gym itself is clean and well maintained. Although the gym is on the smaller side, I've yet to encounter any overcrowding and appreciate the cozy feel. I had a personal training session with Bobby who was knowledgeable, professional and helpful in addressing my fitness goals. I'm still using some of the routines he taught me. Overall, I'm extremely impressed with this location and the franchise chain as a whole.

This gym is amazing! All the machines look brand new, there is a state of the art workout video system with a roll-down screen and your own room to watch the class in, and even a tanning bed! The gentleman who showed us around was very friendly and helpful. Overall, a great place to work out.

This facility is pretty good and had most of the equipment I needed. I enjoyed how close it was to my house and that it was open 24 hours...and then I moved. I tried getting out of my contract, and now am stuck with a two-year contract despite going over in detail when signing up for this gym that I only had a one year lease where I was living. The tactics they use on their contracts are nothing short of deplorable, and now I am still getting charged despite not using a facility for almost half a year. I have tried every avenue to cancel it. I even tried to cancel the card it was on, and they threatened to send me to collections. So now I am stuck paying for a monthly gym membership or pay the close to $1000 "early cancellation, pay off your contract" fee. It's truly a shame, the facility was one I would have recommended. Anytime Fitness will never have me as a customer again. Stay away from the highway robbery that is Anytime Fitness.

Not a huge space, but there's a good variety of equipment and never very busy. The space is clean, the equipment is good, and the people are polite. They have cable on the machines and wifi for members, which is great because you can bring your tablet and watch Netflix/Hulu. They also offer a free personal training session to get you familiar with everything.

At $40/month, it's not the cheapest gym membership out there BUT it's worth it if you travel a lot because your fob key lets you into ANY location. The contract is 3 years, but again worth it to me because I'm not tied to a single location.

It's also located right next to a brewery because, you know, Colorado.

This gym was always clean, and the fact that it was 24 hours was especially nice. Unfortunatley they lock you in a 2 year contact with no way of getting out of it. Feels more like AT&T then a locally owend business as far as that goes. they are also more expensive than the other 24 hour gyms in the area. 29.99 a month for what cost 10 dollars a month ten miles away. I recommend planet fitness off 6th and Wads. for any one thinking about signing up for this place. They are also 24 hours and always have staff and extra machines. They also have new Standing tanning booths so you dont have to lay on the same old machine hundreds of other people have used before you. over all this gym is nice if you dont want to take the extra ten minutes to go to any of the newer, cheaper, and more professional gyms in the area.

The staff here is virtually non existent. Every time I call to talk to someone it goes to voicemail. I purchased a membership here from Issac and was told I could cancel at anytime. I worked out and paid my dues for 3 months. The gym is very limited with equipment and was unhappy because they kept telling me they were getting more equipment and adding more classes. I canceled my membership and now they turned my account into collections and claiming I owe them over $1000. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a gym.

ANYTIME FITNESS in GOLDEN is a rip off! It is all about THEM and not the customer. They have terrible customer service and their gym equipment is cheap and dirty. They do as little as they can for the customer and just try to get by. SAVE your money and go elsewhere.
