Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi is a yoga studio in Lakewood offering holistic wellness classes consisting of yoga, tai chi, meditation, and breathwork based on 5000-year old Korean traditions. We offer a variety of yoga classes for beginners and more advanced classes to energize and heal the mind, body, and spirit.

Body & Brain has added a huge benefit in my health and well being. It's been only 3 weeks since I've rejoined, however the way I feel physically and mentally gets me excited to explore more and more of their valuable classes and workshops. It has become a "must attend" motto for me to manage my stress, physical and mental well being. I suffer from IBS and have seen the benefit of intestinal exercises. My mobility and body awareness has also increased. The center and staff is wonderful and I always feel like a valued participant. After attending classes regularly for 17 months I am happy to say that my kidney function is normal and my bone density has increased 6.8% (without pharmaceuticals). I have loved and learned from each and every workshop. All the masters are sincere in their dedication to teaching this marvelous practice. I am motivated and inspired to continue learning more.

I will have attended the Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi in less than two weeks for my initial year. I have renewed my membership for an additional two years! This program has provided a physically, emotionally & spiritually healthy experience for my body, brain, and spirit. I'm 77 years old. I've been attending Lakewood Body & Brain Center for more than 2 years after using a gift certificate my wife gave to me for an initial session. As an on again / off again rec center guy with the occasional streak of jogging for a month here and a month there, I could not believe how unique and great the class sessions were for me. I moved to regular attendance out of wonderful healthy feelings I had at the end of each session. Instead of pushing myself with my mind versus my body, using will power, the class focuses on integrating the mind and body, with the instructors leading by example and voice coaching during the full sessions. I gained a large rage of motion and stretching of my joints, plenty of small muscle strength around the balance work, and awareness of the flow of feeling versus thinking about body movements. A big switch for me as a former HS and college varsity wrestler. I really love that I can invite anyone of my friends or family of any age to join me in a class, and they will feel immediately at home, and enjoy the session and their joy of really feeling into their body.
Each session, lead by a master trainer, is one of kind, introducing new movements and focus points that are great for energy and movement. I highly recommend B&B for both the mental and body improvements that come from attending.

Welcome to all who are considering Body & Brain.
I joined Body & Brain for help with rehabbing a couple of (repeat offender) dislocated shoulders after my previous fav workout became too painful/ not an option anymore (and honestly, I was curious about 'somatic healing' I'd been reading about). I was still feeling displaced from my injuries, moving to a new home, and the ripple that is/ has been covid.
HANDS DOWN:
One of the GOAT decisions of my life.
-I discovered a form of yoga that speaks to me. I now move freely with fluidity & ease ( I'm not a Spring Chicken). Tai Chi has been a fun new adventure as well.
-I love the instructors who are easy to follow ( for ALL levels), engaging, informative and FUN!
-My neighbor observed that I am "happier".

Finding True Self was recommended to me by my wellness guide Master Christine from the Westminster location. I was hesitant at first because I am new to yoga and all its disciplines. But I signed up. The workshop was in 4 parts which was a 2 hour, a 7 hour, a 9 hour session, and finally a 2 hour wrap up session. The yoga master was Anita with masters Ari and Maxine. The studio was comfortable and well suited for the workshop. This was my first time attending a workshop or session in person. The physical side of the workshop is hard for a novice such as myself but my body welcomed it. And when I struggled, the attention to help me was without parallel. For want of a better word, the mental side of the workshop took me to places I have never been before, and my inner self thirsts for this connection, peace, and energy it provided me. I am a convert because I can feel the good and the benefits to my physical and mental well being. Coming out of COVID, Body & Brain can heal the damages caused by inactivity, bad life choices, and lead you to a wonderful new experience, which can only better you and your life forward. I have been going to Body and Brain a couple/few times a week for 7 months now and my life has truly changed for the better. It’s a different form of yoga than what we westerners are accustomed to. I don’t leave sweating because it’s not necessarily a β€œwork out”. But the transformation in my mental and physical health is something I can’t put into words. My broken femur was declared a non-union after 3 surgeries UNTIL I started this practice. Not only has it started healing for the first time in over 2 years (and I no longer need more surgery!), but my whole body feels more aligned and definitely more flexible. My mind is calmer and I have much less stress in my everyday life.
You have to be open minded coming into this practice. It takes a couple weeks to feel comfortable and completely let go. But once you do, you will learn how to heal yourself in ways you never thought possible. Oh, and the instructors are absolutely amazing! 10/10 recommend!!

The workout is alright but has nothing to do with Yoga or Tai Chi and the studio is hot, there is no ventilation and no one wears masks; the studio is clearly not clean. Also what made me want to leave the studio was the leader of the classes was trying to chance my religion and offered to be our spiritual leader for $1000, that really creeped me out and I had to leave.

Everything about Body and Brain has helped me get back on a positive path and rid myself of negative mental, physical and spiritual energy. My strength and flexibility have increased and I have much more energy. The teachers, Matthew and Master Anita, are very knowledgeable, friendly and positive and make the classes really fun! No two classes are the same and I also have the option of taking the classes online through Zoom. I have learned so much about meridians, auras, energy blockages and Chakras and look forward to learning much more through the daily classes, workshops, special intensive classes, books, one on one sessions with the teachers and the many world wide opportunities to take classes with different Body & Brain teachers. There are morning and afternoon/evening classes Monday through Saturday which makes it easy to fit several classes a week into my schedule. I have been fortunate enough to have discovered this past summer the Lakewood Body & Brain Yoga Center. The classes offered have been transformational for me. Specifically, with relaxing my mind and body and increasing energy flow, I have greatly improved healing of my intestinal health.

Two years ago, I began attending Body & Brain classes due to excruciating neck, shoulder and lower back pain. I also felt shamed by a body that I felt let me down. And I’d never found any exercise I could β€˜make myself’ do. I had no body-brain connection; I existed only in my head. Through the attention of caring instructors, who promote a warm and non-competitive β€œmodify-as-needed” focus, I was able to enjoy 4-5 classes a week. Everything changed. Emotions I’d stuffed away came to the surface, flexibility increased, and pain disappeared. A side benefit was reducing by 3 sizes. What a GIFT to be able to hear what my body tells me now! I would give this 10 stars but will have to settle for 5.

My body is no longer a constraint. My emotions are no longer running amok and driving toward decisions my soul does not wish. My spirit is positive, optimistic, peaceful and confident. This is what Dahn Yoga has offered me.. I accepted the challenge almost 7 years ago and I've grown so very much. Today, I teach Dahn Yoga, Tai Chi and DahnMudo at the Kipling Center. I started practicing with Dahn Yoga in Nov. of 2014. The mind and body work offered at Dahn Yoga is unlike anything I've come across in my 15 yrs of enjoying various types of yoga. It's only been a few months with Dahn Yoga and my life is feeling radically different...my focus has never been this sharp and typical stresses and concerns are fading away FAST. Twenty years ago I began a series of metamorphoses; dropping 100 pounds by changing my eating habits; caring for my complexion, learning how to style myself - and more. Still, I continually gained and lost the same 20 pounds. I also experienced back pain and inflexibility from a number of accidents that, along with having been obese for so long, made me disown my body and mainly live in my mind.

I began Dahn Yoga as a means of establishing a mind-body connection. What I discovered in the caring hands of incredibly gifted instructors and my 4-day a week commitment to classes plus workshops was profound and accelerated transformation. Mind, body and spirit integration. No more pain, great flexibility and also changes in life direction based on such simple yet deep questions as, β€œare you giving 100% at all times in all endeavors and relationships?”

A side benefit was effortlessly dropping 3 clothing sizes due to my accelerated metabolism. My already good complexion took on an actual glow as energy re-established itself in my body and reflected in my face.

My mission in life now is helping women bring their inner beauty to the outside; becoming younger every day as they combine Dahn Yoga practice with my treasure trove of healthy aging secrets. I was guided to Dahn Yoga through several repeated encounters. My experience just started in March of this year. The staff is always empowering me to go deep into self, in all aspects for my highest good. Through body movements, workshops and individual sessions with most of the staff, I am becoming master of my own healing with my true self.

An inspirational practice that benefits both my physical and spiritual body

While searching for something other than a traditional gym environment I discovered Dahn Yoga. Among the many benefits I enjoy are the small class sizes, the importance of individual success, a variety of instructional styles, classes that are available to fit a variety of scheduling needs, the opportunity to do yoga as well as tai chi, and benefiting from a healthier body and spiritual approach to life. Instructors interact with individuals to make sure they are successful in each class. I enjoy the non-traditional yoga and a variety of yoga classes. Having only tried tai chi once, I was reluctant to join in the classes. Now I'm dedicated to doing tai chi, as well as yoga. My sense of balance has improved, as well as my strength, flexibility, and energy. Most importantly, I am motivated to attend class even when I'm tired and could easily talk myself out of it. An unexpected benefit is meeting new and interesting friends I look forward to seeing in class. And there are other Dahn Yoga opportunities that I've yet to explore. The center is always warm and welcoming. Even when I've had a stressful day I leave feeling refreshed and happy!

I came to the Kipling Dahn Yoga center about three months ago (May 2013) and I have been attending classes most days since that time. I have found the instructors to be knowledgeable, centered, well grounded, and compassionate. The classes have helped me tremendously, I have lost some weight, I am much more flexible in all of my joints, and my blood pressure has dropped about 20 points. This has become a part of my life now, I look forward to going to class each day and I enjoy the challenge that each class brings. I will be taking the additional classes and training offered and I look forward to going to the Mago Meditation Center in Sedona one day. I recommend Dahn Yoga, and the Kipling center in particular, to anyone wishing to regain their body and peace of mind.

I recently moved to Colorado, and found the Kipling Dahn Yoga Center. I was welcomed to the center with open arms. The classes are physically and mentally rewarding, and absolutely fun! Dahn Yoga Kipling is a great place to connect mind, body and spirit! The instructors are really great and interested in the growth of the students. It's just a happy place to be and a great place to de-stress!

The excersises are for all levels of ability, so don't be intimidated if you're not flexible, like me. The instructors will work with you if you let them know what issues you might have.
