I loved everything about this class and studio! Alana is so patient and helpful, her guidance made me excited to keep coming back to see myself improve. Challenging as a first-timer but I feel soooo good!! 🫶🏼

Below review is not an accurate description of Boost what so ever. They don’t describe themselves as Pilates literally anywhere, and if you look at their instagram they often promote themselves as “high intensity reformer classes, that are NOT Pilates, or “hit reformer.” It combines strength and resistance training on the reformer for their signature “boost burn.” Boost is a community based on positivity, woman empowerment, and good vibes. Boost is welcoming to anyone and everyone no matter the level of fitness, and they always lead with kindness and inclusion. Because they offer “all levels” classes they encourage body autonomy, and if you’re using a prop you’re not interested in using you simply put it down, and they love that option for you! If you’re looking to get your dictionary out and dissect every move and how it compares to Pilates when it’s not advertised as a Pilates studio and you simply cannot handle that you can use the reformer for SO MANY other things than a classical (yawn) Pilates class, then maybe it’s not for you. To say you enjoyed the class, and got a good workout, and that everyone was nice but then leave a one star review because it’s not classical Pilates is honestly Karen energy and not helpful to anyone. I’d love to see the false advertising the below review talks about. It’s like going out to eat at a Mexican restaurant and leaving a horrible review because they don’t have cheeseburgers. It’s also not that serious. Boost is one of my favorite workouts, and the community is chefs kiss!! Highly recommend to anyone who is open to trying something new and looking for some good energy in their life! ✨

Did I sweat, yes … was it challenging and will I be sore, yes…. Is it Pilates (even contemporary Pilates), no 🚫.
If I wanted to go to Legree, or a mega former class or even just a general fitness class I would book one…
-vent below, ignore unless interested-
listen I’m not trying to be the Pilates police. And feel bad, I left a negative review for the Boost RiNo location due to their unspecified new student policy, but I was curious about their studios and I had friends recommend it, so I wanted to check it out and genuinely nothing against them or the instructors but like honestly when I book a class I want it to be as advertised and meet my expectations….
I am so over the false advertising and emphasis on the wrong aspects of the method across many contemporary studios. It honestly feels like hopping on a trend vs. a commitment to the benefits of the method, and that’s kind of lame, especially as it sort of undermines the overall benefit that Pilates has provided to me and so many other people who have been attending classes, as well as the time and financial commitment many instructors have invested into honing their craft. Roll-up in teaser with 10 lb weights in each hand… challenging 💯…. Lengthening and strengthening with a focus on stabilization and core control. Heck no…. necessary for really anyone IMHO no.
There was zero reference of breath to movement and minimal reference to form or queuing the instructor didn’t even put us in a first or Pilates v, she called something weird…. it’s all burnout and weights, intervals and fast movement blocks 😂😂😂😂😂😂…. Joseph Pilates is rolling like a ball in his grave. Several movements should have been done on the long box and platform and were modified in an unconventional way, same-same with sequencing… But whoever invented this silly Frankenstein version has NO BUSINESS calling it Pilates. They are fitness based reformer classes. HARD STOP.
And I get it, I’m just as much of a matching set Pilates princess as the next girl in there, I love the vibes and genuinely I’m there for it…. As long as, I’m ACTUALLY going to Pilates!!!
Am I an expert, no, have I done my teaching certification, no… but I’ve attended enough classes across the U.S. and overseas to comment on the accuracy and legitimacy of what’s being offered, as well as the relative qualifications and quality of the instructors and studio, and I sincerely doubt there’s been any formal training with continued education…. Like who uses a 15 lb weight (30 total)to execute a compound movement while warming up!?
I think I’m sticking to classical from now on, and if you are even remotely interested in attending a class where sequencing, progression and movements aren’t adapted to be more weight lifting gym-cable machine adjacent… don’t waste your time or your money, do your research as questions, analysts the flow chart and make sure there’s other pieces of equipment beyond just reformers in the studio.
And, unfortunately because the movements were so big and heavy, even with modifications and me just messing around, I had to sit through the entire class to even myself out.

I took Megan’s cardio class and loved it. She kept the class moving and I got to try new exercises I hadn’t done before in previous classes. If you’re looking for a challenge and fun workout, I definitely recommend taking - class with her!

Walked out frustrated and in tears. Megan Brodie is not an instructor for beginners. When I looked around at others for guidance, others were confused as well. My back hurt afterwards because I didn't know the correct forms and was so confused. I tried so hard for 45 minutes. I would not recommend this instructor.

Love this studio! The instructors are great, and I love every class. I schedule it for Tuesday nights with Emi & always leave the classes feeling great. Ever since I've started 2x classes a week, I've gotten so many compliments from people about how great I look and I also feel 100000x better. Highly recommend taking classes!

I love boost!!! Emily on Mondays is amazing, she is so sweet and an amazing instructor. I really grew confident in Pilates with her.
I also go on Thursdays with Jo and she will absolutely destroy you in the best way. She is hilarious and keeps you on your toes.
Boost is a more high paced Pilates where I feel like I get my full body strength and cardio in. I come out of the classes shaking and sweaty.
Only thing of note at this location is parking is a hazard. Only parallel street parking is available. We’re all just girls trying to take Pilates and Milwakee is a narrow road that doesn’t allow 2 cars to pass when both sides of the road are parked on. My tip is to show up 10 minutes before class just to secure parking.

First time at Boost this morning with Morgan as the instructor and I’m so glad I tried this studio out! I haven’t done Pilates in so long and felt so welcomed as soon as I came into the studio by Morgan. She explained things so well and did the perfect corrections when needed. Great start to my day! I’m looking forward to going back again soon.
