British Swim School is good, but what makes it great are the coaches. My kids have absolutely loved theirs, and each coach has taken the time to get to know each of our kiddos. My boys LOVE Coach Fisher, and my daughter has had an absolute blast with Coach Evie. We also love Coach Amia- we try to get her for all our make ups!

We are delighted to have found the British Swim School at Lafayette for our kids, ages 6 and 1. While we have had classes with other coaches over the last few months, our kids' primary coaches have been Coach Maddie and Coach Caleb. Coach Caleb leads the Tadpole class and teaches one of our Turtle 1 classes. Coach Maddie teaches our other Turtle 1 class. Both of them are great and provide plenty of guidance and encouragement.

Coach Caleb makes it fun for us to be in the pool with our toddler and our 6-year old loves him. Coach Maddie has taught our 6-year old at Starfish and Turtle 1 levels. I personally love her teaching style. She focuses on the technique, inspires our kid to do better, and ensures a certain amount of discipline in her class while keeping it really fun. I appreciate that balance. I would certainly rate both the coaches and the British Swim School at Lafayette 5 stars!

This review is long over due. You won’t be disappointed in swim lessons with the British Swim School. They have some incredible instructors. My son had Coach Alex B for his first ever swimming lessons at 3 years old (October - Dec 2024) and absolutely loved him. The classes had four students each and there was plenty of 1:1 time for each child. Alex is amazing with children… one of those people who are just born to teach and guide children. He is so patient with every child and adjusts his approach to give them the confidence they need in the water. If Alex still teaches, I highly recommend him!

The only reason we stopped getting lessons here was because we moved out of the country January 2025.

Lauren is an excellent teacher. She focuses on positive reinforcement to ensure kids learn not only how to swim but why proper form is important. My daughter loves swim class and I feel she is getting a good foundation.

My daughter is now in Melina’s class as a shark 1. Melina is patient, kind, and provides clear feedback to students immediately as she spots improper form. My daughter has been with Melina now for approximately 6 weeks and has clearly developed better form in all her swim strokes.

When my daughter started swim lessons in Coach Chloe's Starfish class she was afraid to get her face wet, float on her back and to jump in. After her first class, I was impressed by Chloe's ability to build confidence and comfort in the water while having fun! A few short months later my daughter is confident going under water, floating on her back unassisted and jumping in with submersion. I was hesitant about paying a higher cost for swim lessons, but wow, this experience is so worth every penny ten time over. My daughter has zoomed through the levels because she loves it which means she is motivated and enjoys every moment of it: the instructors are fantastic, they break every move down into sensible little pieces and then put it together so the kids get it, they know exactly how to explain something for the children and make sense of it, they challenge the kids and make each of them feel special. My 5 year old is doing very well here. It’s much calmer than Goldfish since there are only three classes going on at a time, and the classes are staggered so it’s not a stampede getting in and out. Melina has also been a fantastic instructor. She’s sweet and reassuring but firm about ensuring the kids do as she says. My kid adores her. I also love that she demonstrates the strokes for the kids to see. I had to buy a wet suit, though - they weren’t kidding, the water is cold.

British Swim School is fabulous. The coaches are knowledgeable and well trained. My son was scared of the water after a bad swim lesson experience at a local rec center but the coaches here are great at coaxing tentative swimmers into the water. I love the emphasis on safety first and teaching how to turn your body around to float. It is well worth the price to ensure my kids including my 2 year old are safe in the water.

Great place for kids of all ages to learn not just how to swim but what to do in emergencies. Structure is great and we have 4 kids in classes ranging across 3 levels. Our son was so scared to put his head underwater. A day at the pool was filled with clinging and playing in the water where he could stand. We enrolled in British Swim and after just one lesson he was excited to try putting his head under! We are so proud of him and so grateful to his coaches at British Swim School! I really appreciate the lessons that my kid has done. He didn’t start until age 5, and he had spent a lot of time in his puddle jumper the last couple of years. His lessons are helping him to become a confident and safe swimmer without the puddle jumper. Some tips to help others get the most value out of their experience (we had two kids in it for ~3 months, 5yo and 3yo):
1. Be proactive in asking for feedback from the teachers / sharing feedback with the teachers.
2. If the water at 24 Hour Fitness is too cold for your kids, there are neighboring pools inside hotels that are _much_ warmer (we realized this too late).
3. Don't be late; they end on time.
4. Plan for a 4mo+ commitment to really see meaningful progression.

It was good at first but then none of the instructors stayed. Every time my kid got comfortable with someone there was an entire different team of young adults teaching. The hours are ok, not ideal for every one. I also dislike how many restrictions there are while at the swim facility. Kids can’t change in the locker room and are forced to change in pop up tents. Babies can’t be changed next to the pool (but you aren’t supposed to be in the locker room) the restrictions make it Not worth the prices if you have a child under 4- Swim Float Swim is the place to be

British Swim School is the best swim school! They’ve taught our daughters how to swim on their own along with the survivor skills that every parent should make sure their kids to have. Our daughters have developed the confidence and discipline of learning new skills because of these lessons.
