I love coming here! Erika is a great instructor and the sweetest person, but don’t let her fool you, she will make you workout hard! Everyone else is great but I mainly went to her classes due to my schedule. Pilates has been such a great low impact workout for me and help resolve back issues and strengthen my core. Each class is different and you use different equipment each time! Erika’s verbal cues are easy to follow! Pilates might seem intimidating but they make it so inclusive and build your confidence!

The instructors are great and the front desk is kind. I’ve been a member here almost a year, and being younger here can for sure can make you feel out of place. The vast majority of members are older, and the frustrating thing is that they tend to complain about harder moves / challenging classes. I go to class for a challenge, and hearing side comments constantly when we change up a routine to be more difficult, can be frustrating. Honestly, most classes aren’t even a challenge. Club Pilates really limits the moves they allow us to do.
I ended up cancelling my membership after the new location opening was delayed and we were moved back to the old location, which is a mess. I get it’s not the studios fault, but it has made the workouts unenjoyable.
Overall, If you’re on the younger side, I’d recommend a different location.

Since joining Club Pilates, my body and mind feel stronger than ever. I used to be into high-intensity fitness classes, like Barry's and Soul Cycle, but realized that I wasn't strengthening all parts of my body that I hoped for. Club Pilates has been an escape from the ordinary workday, allowing me to find my breath again and challenge my body in amazing ways. Erika is the best instructor - she challenges you and encourages you to push yourself without going over the top. She also effectively hits the full body without overdoing it. She makes you feel welcome every time you step foot in the door. I'm forever grateful that I started Pilates!

I started doing Pilates here in August and absolutely love it! All the instructors are great, but my favorites are Erika and Megan!
I do wish that Erika’s, Suspend class would allow for the jump boards to be used again, that was primarily the reason I went to this class. Gets the heart rate up without impact.

Erika is the best instructor at the Belmar Club Pilates! I love the cardio sculpt class on Sundays. Erika's class is fun & a great challenge. I will continue to take her class weekly. As a group fitness instructor of 15 years, I highly recommend!

This well equipped studio is amazing! So many great classes to choose from and it's always exciting to see how the instructor will use the many different pieces of equipment aside from the reformer.
Erika is the best...each session I've had with her is a masterclass in both technique and challenge. Amy is amazing as well. Both create well-rounded routines and a supportive environment for growth and improvement.
Book early, classes do fill up quick!

My wife and I have been a member to Club Pilates for years. The teachers, in most part, are great. The equipment has started to get a little worn but overall, we've had very positive experiences. You're going to do a good workout - but overall it's pretty tame and easy for exercise (vinyasa yoga way harder). The reason for three stars - price.
I was planning on renewing my unlimited annual membership for 2024 until management told me my new price would be nearly $2400 which is about 38% higher than my wife and I paid for 2022. Isn't massive inflation supposed to be over? They used to have better Black Friday deals in the past - that's gone.
Anyway, if you have and want to spend the money, Pilates helped my back pain and could help you. Be prepared for very strict scheduling policies in which you may lose a class or get fined if emergencies happen. It's pretty annoying but most often avoidable.

Ive been a member since January 2024 and it has been a transformative awakening for my mind and my body! My favorite classes are the cardio sculpt classes. Each instructor brings their own style and approach but they all challenge you to your core— i double dog dare you to take a class with Erika and or Amy!

I try to rotate through the instructors, as they all have their own style: Abby is so emcouraging, Peggy is very consistant, Marilyn will always emphasize the basics, Julene likes to use all the equipment, and Erika challenges me!
They truly feel like family.

I changed to this location from another location due to the instructors acting more like drill Sargents than Pilates instructors (I don’t need to be barked at, thank you very much) and they made the transition so easy on me. Not only that, the instructors will whip you into shape faster than you can wink! I never felt this kind of workout at the other studio and they claimed to be the instructor for the instructors. Very very very happy here!

The classes are good when you can get into them. As others have mentioned, it's not the hardest workout. Haven't been able to use 2 of my 4 classes this month because the wait list is so long. They require a 30 day cancellation notice, so I'll be charged for another month of classes that I can't use.

not disability friendly. even if you go to over 30 classes, great chance the instructor will not remember you. multiple times was called out in front of the class for doing the movement “wrong” (it was a modification given by another instructor). i told the instructor twice it was a modification, yet she multiple times in front of the whole class told me i was doing it wrong. she could’ve done this quietly, but she chose not to. why would i pay $230 a month for the instructor to not even remember the modifications i need? she also said “i think you and i have done one class together before, right?” when i had done at least 15 with her. that makes you feel really great about yourself, doesn’t it? isn’t the point of the membership so that you have an instructor there that can help you modify? would not recommend. peggy is the only instructor worth the money, but if you work a 9-5, good luck finding classes with someone nice. there is also no “community” feel when it feels like you are invisible to everyone. also make sure you cancel plenty of time in advance, as no matter the reason— even if you cannot find a single instructor that works for you— they WILL make you pay that last month. definitely not a good environment for anybody who has high anxiety. i joined because i wanted to do pilates for some injuries i had, but i think i will just take my money to my old yoga studio, where there is a group of women actively trying to create a supportive community for people of all abilities. it is nerve-wracking enough to ask for a modification, let alone have to repeat over and over again that you are simply doing what’s correct for your body. looking through the reviews, it seems like being called out/shamed for personal health issues is not an issue individual to me. wish i would’ve considered those reviews more before signing up for this membership. and now i have to pay another $230 for a month of pilates i will absolutely not go to because im not going to be shamed for not being able to move the way others can. i would really recommend going somewhere else if you have any health issues or injuries that might require extra attention. i used to work with dementia patients and there was an older woman who was obviously struggling with remembering the movements. an instructor was very snide with her and shamed her for not remembering saying “i already showed you that”, “i just said that”, etc. they do not understand people of all abilities deserve exercise and patience. I would especially not recommend your older family members or any people with memory issues come here. also, for $230 a month, you’d think the mats wouldn’t have hair all over them. but they sure do! the manager said she didn’t realize these things were problems when i brought them up, but the responsibility should fall on her to train her staff to be inclusive, not on customers paying a hefty sum to take the classes. why is there no training on inclusivity? obviously, these instructors behave this way because the management allows it.

As with most other poor reviews, my actual experience during Pilates classes was excellent. But no company (and I mean zero) have ever made it more difficult to cancel a membership. No one answers the phone, and there is rarely anyone else at the studio besides the instructor who is too busy to help with a cancellation. I received a cancellation form after finally getting a hold of someone and promptly completed it, as well as called the 1-800 number to make my final payment to what I assume is their collection agency. I have not attended a class since march and am still trying to sort this out. I am getting past due notices, and again, cannot get a hold of anyone. Extremely poor customer service. They’ll make it exceptionally easy to sign up, and require what feels like a signature in blood, sweat and tears to cancel. Avoid at all costs if you’re a human being who might need to cancel at any point in the future.

The instructors are great, but management will keep renewing your membership without your consent. I loved Pilates so much that I upgraded to the unlimited membership which at the time was $199 a month. I went to classes at least three times a week in most cases, and the instructors and staff were so friendly and willing to help me learn since I'm blind and was intimidated by group classes. But when I got pregnant, I became really sick and had hyperemesis for my entire pregnancy, so I asked if the studio could make a medical exception and allow me to freeze my membership until I was well enough to come back. They were so kind and agreed, and I have a text thread with a message saying, "No problem at all. Please let us know when you are ready to come back into the studio." So with that reassurance, I focused on getting better so that I could start exercising again. Without my knowledge, Pilates started charging me the full $199 monthly fee again in January. When I realized the problem in August and reached out for a refund of the cumulative $1,592 that I'd unknowingly been charged, I was told they could only refund half of the months because I had no documentation showing that I'd canceled my membership. And when I said I'd been given a medical exception because I was sick, and I showed them the text thread, the District Manager told me there was nothing additional she could do because Pilates studios are franchises. And when I asked how to contact the owners to dispute the charges, I was also ignored.
I feel so let down and sad because until this issue, I sincerely loved this studio and all the things I've learned there. I still have not been refunded the remaining $796 that was charged without my consent, and management is refusing to help me even though I have proof I was told that everything would be put on hold until I wasn't too sick to exercise. So if you go here, be careful and don't trust that they will honor promises made about your individual account.

Another place that doesn’t have any empathy or appreciation for the hardest job in our society, motherhood. My daughter has been trying to get me to join her in taking a Pilates class but I took time off from work so she could get much needed self care as a single mom and is turned away when taking care of her baby made her tardy. I will definitely tell anyone I know Belmar Pilates doesn’t place any importance on mothers or women for that matter.

Worst experience of my life, I have done pilates for year's and have had to take a break due to being a single mom and the first time I am able to book a class I am turned away after being a few minutes late because I had to comfort my 2 year old who woke from a nightmare before leaving. This has never happened to me at the myriad of other studios I have joined over the years. This studio is NOT MOM FRIENDLY and Amy Tunnel is not kind or considerate but outright rude. I left crying, then decided other mom's should know, especially single mom's and not waste their money. I also tried calling several times to discuss membership and no one called me back, so I paid full price for a class I didn't get to enjoy. I feel discriminated against on both counts.

I haven't enjoyed exercising so much since I was a teenager. I love the variety with all the wonderful instructors. I can't pick a favorite but I regularly attend Marilyn, Amy T, and Erica's classes. The classes are thoughtful, and they remember many people's injuries and give adjustments. My favorite class is the Center and Balance it's perfect after a long work day at my desk. The office staff is wonderful too, Nicole and Peggy and I can't remember everyone's names but I always receive a warm welcome when I walk through the door. I have never had a billing problem that wasn't easily corrected. I hope to be a long-term Pilates Customer at Club Pilates Belmar, and I can't wait to take private lessons with Arielle.

All knowledgeable in their own ways. I paticulary enjoy Lucie's style of instruction. She is knowledgeable on body facts, reminds you on where to focus, and throws in the occasional corny joke ! My experience with the Belmar studio is lovely. Aja (who sadly is no longer with the studio) and Lucie are my favorite instructors. Lucie is very knowledgeable, her instructions are detailed, and she takes the time to make sure forms are correct and we’re doing it the right way. I saw some negative feedback about other instructors and I somewhat agree that I don’t like one or two of them but I think each instructor has their styles of teaching pilates. I took classes with different instructors to find the one I like and then stick to that person. With pilates, you have to progress slowly from level 1 to 1.5 to 2 since it’s easy to get injured if level is skipped. They explained that very carefully when I signed up my membership. They also require 2 or 3 months of commitment to see the difference and you have to give them 30-day cancellation notice, all of which have been made clear when I signed up. The management listens to feedback and is accommodating. Rob, the location GM, is pleasant to work with. The location is clean and they take extra efforts to clean between classes. Parking is easy. Strongly recommend!

I used to really enjoy this studio.
Unfortunately during/post Covid shut down, there appeared to be a change of management.
All but 1 of my most loved instructors departed.
I tried a class with a new instructor I’d never met and this experience was the end for me.
I was shamed for a birth defect I have in front of the entire class after she’d inquired of any health issues that needed consideration.
I tried to make light of her insensitive comments but ended up breaking down into tears on my way home.
This experience came upon the heels of an e-mail I’d received from their manager pertaining to them inadvertently charging me for 2 classes in one day.
I’d booked a 1pm class but realized I had another appointment so immediately deleted and rebooked a 10am.
I was charged a no show fee, which was refunded along with an email that clearly stated He was doing this as a courtesy and not to expect that again.
I don’t know that correcting an error that lays within the software not being able to modify the schedule as needed, is him doing me a favor?
Either way, its all slid downhill since their manager Jen left.
I’m disappointed.
When you pay $200 monthly, you’d hope for better.

Way to take the wind out if a girl’s sails... still digesting this one. Read the class description, people!!! They will make you feel old and crippled in a heart beat... at the most inopportune time.
In response - 20 minutes prior seems a bit short notice. I had changed my schedule specificity for this class. Safety is clearly your top priority, just bad timing. Thanks for the introduction! I do like the concept.

I got into belmar area about 2:40 drove around looking for the location, then called to ask what stores they were near as I was led to Buffalo Wild Wings. The girl at the desk was telling me to walk down the street but didn’t specify what street or stores. I was meeting a friend there as well and when I finally found the place it was 3:07pm and they told me I couldn’t take the class, so unfortunately I didn’t get to experience the class itself just wasted time trying to get the front desk girl to give me a general idea of where they are located. She offered to re-sign me up for another class but after my friend taking the class by herself and the front desk person not knowing what stores were around them I’m going to just try another location or company.

An absolutely first-rate Pilates studio and member experience! I heartily recommend Club Pilates Belmar. This is my ninth month of membership and I’m very, very pleased with the studio and my trainers (Samantha, Jenn, Shelley, Kory and Alli). For the first two months, I attended entry level reformer flow classes twice a week to get my body used to the equipment and basic moves. I find that the 50-minute classes just fly by (I’m never looking at the clock) and all of my trainers offer consistent variety in the Pilates exercises they select for each class. At three months I moved up to an unlimited membership and started attending entry level reformer flow classes three times a week. In June, I also started taking monthly private lessons, which along with more class work, helped me to improve tremendously from my perspective from when I started. So much so, one of my trainers noticed and encouraged me to start trying intermediate classes in July. I’m challenged and I love it. As the months moved on, I stepped up to attending classes four times a week, then five, and now almost every day. I mix in Center & Balance and Restore classes with Reformer Flow. In 2018, I plan to take on Control/Barre class, TRX/Suspend class and Cardio/Jumpboard class for variety. I hadn’t mentioned, but I turned 65 in October, so Pilates is definitely a fit for this senior citizen. #PilatesBingo

Club Pilates at Belmar is a great Pilates studio. Despite being part of a larger corporation, the studio and those who run it make you feel like you are part of a small private studio. The staff cares about their clients and run excellent classes that are always on time. Also the studio itself is always clean and well maintained!
