GymAbout the Club
Denver Barbell Club is the place you want to go to improve your Strength, Speed, and Mobility. Our programming is based on the sports of Olympic Weightlifting (Snatch and Clean & Jerk) and Powerlifting (Back Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift). We have members who train a single sport and lifters who train both (Super Total). If your focus is getting better at a different sport (cycling, running, etc.) we have the expertise to make you stronger, more explosive, and reduce your risk of injury. In addition to the hours we have listed, our space is accessible 24/7 via app-based access system and this option is included with all our recurring memberships. We're best known for our coaching, programming and electrifying training environment.

This is kind of a weird review but let me start with my experience.
I was just getting into powerlifting and heard about this place through a mutual friend. It sounded promising so I did a free day pass and fell in love with it.
The facility is amazing. It has everything you could want for powerlifting or Olympic weightlifting. The only thing I would add is one of the machines with a lat pull down, cables, push down, etc. The deadlift jack was my favorite thing. I’ve seen them in videos but never in a gym I’ve been to so I was so excited when I was there.
The staff, coaches, trainers, whatever you want to call them are amazing as well. They all have really solid advice and took some time with me since I was newer which I really appreciated.
I ended up moving away about a month after signing up, so I didn’t get to spend much time there but it was great while it lasted.
I wanted to say all this but also add this note: I didn’t know who to contact but I need to cancel my membership. The last time I was there was May I believe. Not because I don’t love the gym but because I moved. Please contact me via this email. Thanks

Great gym for anyone serious about powerlifting or olympic weightlifting. Love the 24/7 access and the coaches are very supportive and good at working with everyone from beginners to more experienced competitive lifters. The training program with optional in-person coaching hours I get from them only costs a little bit extra on top of the basic membership I have. A very good deal in my opinion. Training programs are well designed to accommodate people with full time work and other obligations that can make working out more difficult.
It’s a clean space with lots of wooden platform space, tons of barbells and bumper plates in great condition, good stereo system. It also shares a wall with a nice CrossFit gym which is cool.
all around a great community to train with. Everyone here has a good attitude and pushes each other to be their best.

I wanted to share some feedback about Lindsay's coaching style. I saw her working with a new member on the snatch, and she's a pro! (For what its worth, all of the other coaches seem great - but due to the times I go, I usually only see Lindsay.) Lindsay struck a great balance between offering positive feedback for what the newcomer did well and providing constructive criticism without overwhelming them.
Was there like a dozen things she could have corrected about their snatch? Sure, but what good would it do to drop all of that on them day 1? Lindsay chose to focus on just one or two corrections at a time. She had the person try again, then introduced another point for improvement, and so on. I’ve been reading Greg Everett’s olympic weightlifting book (nerd alert 😅) and her coaching approach aligns perfectly with his ‘error corrections’ section. Specifically, coaching what to do instead of what not to do, limiting the critiques to just one or two at a time, and finding something positive to focus on. I really appreciate Lindsay's approach.
A few things about the gym itself.. It’s all competition-style kilogram plates, actually nice olympic barbells (I.e no rusty, bent, trash barbells. There’s also a good split of 15kg and 20kg bars), plenty of racks, and restrooms that don’t look like a tornado went thru them. Parking is also never an issue. Would recommend.

I’ve been a member of Denver barbell club for about 7years. Not only have I become a better power lifter an Olympic lifter, it’s also made me a better person overall. The team mentality that this club has is like no other place I’ve ever seen. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable the other members themselves are always helpful and friendly. The facility is like nothing else in Denver

I’m so happy to have joined DBC! I’ve been a member for about two months now and have already seen great improvements in my lifts thanks to the wonderful coaches. Coaches and members have both been supportive and welcoming. If you’re looking for a place in Denver to learn/practice Olympic lifts or powerlifting, this is the place!

Truly the best gym I've been to, hands down. The coaching and programming is top notch, the people are welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere is fun and supportive. In the 6 months I've been going to this gym I've gotten much stronger than I've been before with no injuries (and have had an absolute blast doing it).
10/10 - come join us!

DBC is such a special gym, I recommend it to everyone I can. The coaches are wonderful, great programming, fun social atmosphere and all the equipment you need to get in your lifting in. Every level of lifter is welcomed with open arms from the experienced competitor to first timer. DBC makes it all feel very natural to have it become part of your routine and make some friends along the way. Highly recommend 👍

The energy in this place is magical. It is more than just a gym, it is a magnificent group of wonderful people that also are lifting really heavy things. The coaches and in-house physical therapist support the lifters on their individual journeys to be their absolute best. Go here if you want to be your best too!

I rate this gym M for Massive. I’ve gotten so wide here I have to turn sideways to go into most doorways. Many of my clothes no longer fit and that’s what I’m paying for. I’d leave more stars if I could.

My lifting improved drastically after training with Denver Barbell Club. I went from chronically injured, to qualifying for national weightlifting competitions. The support group you have at Denver Barbell Club extends beyond the coaches - the team atmosphere has cultivated life-long friendships. If you're looking to compete in weightlifting/powerlifting, or just get stronger while making friends, Denver Barbell Club is THE place to be.

This has quickly become my happy place.
From day 1 the coaches and athletes have welcomed me with open arms. The coaching here is top notch and the equipment is well maintained and organized.
They have 4 Olympic lifting platforms that you can fit 4 people on during a session. They have several varieties of jerk blocks to choose from as well. Squat racks, and powerlifting spots as well!
Love this place and you will too!

I joined DBC in December 2022 after just one trial session - I didn't need any more convincing about the quality of the community (supportive, welcoming, and focused) or the excellence of the coaching (attentive, thoughtful, committed to improving client capacities across the board). The programming is outstanding and it's a great value; I've made considerable gains in my strength, mobility, and mindset because of the support I've received from the community.

Falls nothing short of 5 stars. Joined in February as a new lifter and have not stopped learning and still have so much more to learn about powerlifting. Coaches whether they’re powerlifting or weightlifting are always helping people out on both sides and genuinely care about their lifters, they bring the best of the lifting community to this gym. If you’re lookin for a gym where everyone takes lifting seriously this is definitely it, added bonus is the top tier community and family created within.

This place became such an important part of our everyday. It really could be described as a social club with barbells where you'll find quality coaching and hard workers lifting heavy things. There's always supportive banter to help give that little extra motivation to perform regardless of the portion of a training cycle you're in. We made some great friends and unlike other "gyms" out there, there is frequent back and forth even though we're not in the area anymore. Oh, and they have good equipment for Weightlifting and Powerlifting.

If youre into weightlifting or powerlifting, you probably should be here. 24/7 access, competition equipment, amazing coaches and an awesome and supportive community with national competitors. Seems silly not to.
If that's not enough, their programming is sneaky good. I've tried catalyst and cal stength; DBCs was the first program where I could make constant improvements and not feel as if weightlifting and recovery was my world.
Its really a matter of how good do you want to be when you walk in those doors

DBC is a game changer! It’s so validating to invest my time in a place that is also committed to investing in me. Equipment is on point, programming is challenging yet enjoyable, and results are real! Not to mention every single coach is phenomenal. I trust every one of them, and I know how much they care about me as an athlete and as a human being. Best of all, this gym is full of people who care about one another. We’re a team and truly encourage one another to be the best each of us can be. If you want to lift, this is the only place to do it.

It’s hard to find an OLY gym that does it right and let me tell you, DBC does it right! I haven’t felt so at home in a gym since I was a kid training in my hometown gym. Incredibly well-equipped Olympic lifting and powerlifting gym with coaches who know how to lift, program and coach. They care equally about every member getting better, from the novice to the elite lifter. And by better I mean actually becoming a good lifter, not ugly lifting big weight.

I trained at DBC for about six months, and I have to say it's one of my favorite weightlifting gyms I have trained out of to date. Joey has done an incredible job both with providing an excellent space to train in (the big remodel in the spring of 2020 was a huge step up from the previous edition, which was already good), but more than that the gym culture and atmosphere is even better.
Coaching at DBC is really high quality as well. During my time at DBC I was still training under my own coaches from Calavera Barbell in Reno, Nevada, but what I saw from the way the full-time DBC athletes were coached and instructed, as well as the occasional help that I solicited from the coaching staff there, all the coaches are knowledgeable, helpful, and have the best interests of each athlete in mind.
Whether you're looking for a gym to drop-in at while in the Denver area, or a full-time training home, DBC is absolutely the best weightlifting club in the Denver area. Go check them out.

As the owner of multiple gyms, I am always impressed with responsive business owners. I was in town for a short stint and called Joey at 830pm. I expected a voicemail but he picked up on the first ring. 530am this next morning I was in the gym training. Excellent equipment and facility with everything you could need for strength / power or Olympic lifting. Members, website, and hospitality tell me that this is a great place for beginners or experienced lifters that want coaching. Cool feel, great for serious training but maintains a welcoming vibe. Highly recommend.
