Garage 1880 is a personal training gym in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. We offer One-on-one Personal Training, Semi Private Personal Training and Virtual Personal Training. Our facility is by appointment only. Email is the best point of contact. Your first time in the studio will be a consult and movement assessment so our team can create you individualized program that works towards your goals in a sustainable way.

Highly recommend Garage 1880! The smaller space makes for a great environment, and the gym is comfortable and clean. Lillie is an excellent trainer, always checking form and helping work around injuries or other limitations. She’s also super friendly and fun to work with. It’s a great environment for anyone at any stage looking for a comfortable and fun atmosphere but also wanting to make solid progress.

Veronica is the best of the best and I love this gym! It is a lovely community of people with 1:1 care and attention from extremely skilled trainers. If there was a 10-star option, I’d be giving it! I’ve been training with Lillie once a week for over a year, and she continues to keep me engaged and motivated every single session. I go to the gym about five times a week, so it’s easy to fall into a routine and become stagnant—but that’s never the case with Lillie.
She’s incredibly observant and attentive, always picking up on what I enjoy most and tailoring my program around those factors. She knows exactly when to push me harder and when I’ve reached my limits. Her attention to form and detail ensures I’m always improving safely and effectively.
Lillie’s sessions are the highlight of my week, and I couldn’t recommend her enough. If you’re looking for a trainer who truly cares about your progress and keeps you challenged and inspired, look no further!

I’ve been working out with Walter at Garage 1880 for the last five months, and it’s been such an amazing experience! Not only is he such an attentive and motivating trainer, he brings the laughs and fun to each of our sessions. I am so so grateful for this gym! I was at a place in my life where I needed a change and I wanted to explore weight lifting. Ive enjoyed cardio my whole life but didnt know where to begin with weights. I was intimidated and wanted to make sure my form was correct. I found Garage1880 and signed up for an assessment and 7 months later here I am! I train with Joan and am so so grateful for her, her expertise, and kindness. I’ve worked out on my own for years, but I’ve never seen the kind of results I’m seeing since I started training with Rebekah. I’m stronger, have a way better mind-muscle connection, and I actually feel like I’m making real progress.
Rebekah is super knowledgeable and always finds the right way to challenge me without it ever feeling overwhelming. She’s also just really easy to work with—friendly, encouraging, and super flexible when it comes to scheduling, which I really appreciate. (She also always has a good show to recommend.)

Never thought I would look forward to my workouts this much, the vibes at 1880 are immaculate. So nice to walk into a gym where all the trainers and clients are visibly in a good mood. They are serious about results as well as injury prevention, but without the toxic macho energy or the overly-sugary forced friendliness of other gyms. Just genuine encouragement, challenging programs, and a healthy sense of humor. I was hesitant to commit to the expense but I have zero regrets and am glad I prioritized my fitness. So motivated by my progress after just 4 months (shout out to my trainer Walter!!!!) Worth every penny 💪

She has personalized all my programs and helped me train for the Boulder Ironman. I've only been training here for about six weeks, but I've been lucky enough to work with Walter, Rebekah, and Joan for at least a session, and they're all amazing.
I'm going to pick on Walter first. Why? Somebody told me that he's one of the newer trainers on the team, and you DEFINITELY shouldn't let that scare you away. He's a delightful human, with a perfect personality for training. He's also been through a ton physically as an athlete -- we've had fun swapping injury stories during sessions, and I completely trust him to make sure that I don't re-injure anything.
I've done most of my training with Rebekah, and she's freaking amazing. I'm a mess: a middle-aged guy with far too many old injuries and bad training habits, along with a deeply goofy brain that struggles to translate instructions into better form. In less than a dozen sessions, Rebekah has patiently helped me improve in far more ways than I could have imagined, and it's been amazing. And fun.
Joan rocks, too. Rebekah is a tough act to follow, but Joan pinch-hit for her during one of my sessions, and she found some creative ways to help some key concepts get through to my goofy brain and messed-up body.
If you're looking for a meathead gym, this definitely isn't it. But if you enjoy being around a bunch of incredibly thoughtful, down-to-earth trainers who really know their stuff, this is your spot.

Garage 1800 is the best!! I have never enjoyed going to “the gym” and decided to (warily) try personalized strength training and found this place. It was the best choice I’ve made in a long time. Feeling stronger and fitter has been great, but what I love most is the people here (trainers and other clients alike), who make this feel like a true community, one that I love coming to every week. I can’t say enough good things about training with Lillie at Garage 1880! The smaller gym atmosphere is such a bonus—there are never more than 2–3 people training at a time, which means you get incredible attention to detail. Lillie is amazing at focusing on form and making sure every exercise is done safely, always considering any past injuries to ensure I never risk hurting myself or aggravating anything.
On top of that, she’s so sweet, funny, and friendly—I genuinely look forward to my sessions with her. Since starting here, I feel so much stronger, and I love being able to track my progress with the app they use. Finding Garage 1880 and Lillie has been such a game-changer for me!

I love this place! This gym has a tight community and while it’s small, it never feels too busy. I’ve been doing personal training with Joan 2x a week for 6 months now and I love her ability to make me feel comfortable and push my abilities. I met Allie at the beginning of 2024 when I was looking for a personal trainer close to the Arvada/Wheat Ridge area and I feel so lucky to have found her!
As a physical therapist, I appreciate Allie’s understanding of anatomy and its roll in movement. She performs a very thorough screening assessment with each client focusing on how you move, your current injuries and goals, and how it all connects to create your personalized program.
Throughout the training journey, Allie has been very skilled in creating modifications for injuries or to adapt to new goals. She does a great job continuously challenging you in a safe and encouraging way.
I also appreciate how much Allie and her staff value continuing education. They attend courses to stay up to date on the latest training techniques, and participate in classes with nutritionists and physical therapist to create a wholistic approach to their training sessions.
Looking beyond just their skill level, both Allie and Rebekah have been a joy to work with. They are very passionate about what they do and they turn working out into a fun and social event. From getting recommendations on restaurants to puppy talk, Garage 1880 will help you feel stronger and more connected to your community!

The owner of the gym Allie, is an amazing trainer herself! She sets the standard for her trainers and only hires the best. I found Garage 1880 through a Facebook group of women in Denver, it was highly recommended. I was at a point where I was ready to make some serious changes in my fitness journey and wanted a community that would support me in my growth and push me to be comfortably uncomfortable. That is exactly what I found in the trainers at this gym. They are professional, knowledgeable and recognize that we are all human. After reading about the benefits of resistance training and building muscle, I decided to look into strength training. I’ve always been intimidated by the weightlifting section at big gyms and was concerned that I might injure myself in a group weight lifting class.
When Garage 1880 opened in my neighborhood, I thought I’d give personal training a try. I’m so glad that I did! I’ve been working out with Allie and Veronica for the past 2 years and have made great strides in strength and coordination. They focus on form and are mindful of any necessary adjustments based on the unique needs/restrictions of each individual.
I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant and have experienced no back pain/discomfort at all throughout pregnancy. This is amazing, since it was something I’d struggled with regularly prior to weightlifting. Workout plans are tailored to encourage you to progress at a rate that is challenging but still feels good for your body. They check on goals at regular intervals and make working out fun!

I have been working out at Garage 1880 since March. Although I have been a consistently active person my whole life, I had never done personal training before. I found large, traditional gyms to be intimidating and overwhelming (hello gym bros!), and did not know where to start when lifting weights.
Enter: Garage 1880. This gym is special. Everyone is so welcoming, supportive, and kind. Workouts are set based on your goals and you are equipped with an app that outlines your workouts each week and tracks your progress over time.
Rebekah is my trainer and she is the absolute best! She will push you to do more than you think is possible, and she will have you leveling up week after week. Although I have seen my strength grow so much over the last 5 months, my confidence in myself has grown as well. Learning new things and staying committed to a goal is an amazing feeling.

If you had told me that one day I'd find a gym so awesome that I woke up excited to go to at sunrise, I'd have laughed in your face. But this place is special. I call it the "Unicorn Gym." It's got all the equipment you need, but is small enough to feel intimate. The entire staff takes their work dead seriously, but not themselves. There is no "gym bro" culture there—no one flexing, grunting, or dropping barbells. Just high quality, targeted training focused on my specific needs and goals, without any panic inducing weigh-ins or before and after pictures. I train with Aaron and cannot recommend him highly enough. I showed up on day one riddled with nerves and insecurities and Aaron dispelled all of that within about two minutes. Every week he meets me where I am on that day and can tailor our workout on the fly to make it more or less challenging or accommodate injury or soreness. He takes time to explain what we're doing, what we're targeting, and where I should feel it, and then watches closely to adjust form. His signature "Let's goooo!" makes me want to keep pushing my limits. But most importantly for me, he keeps it light and fun. We spend as much time laughing as sweating, and I always leave there in the best mood (except when battle ropes are involved....) This gym is giving me back a piece of myself that I misplaced in 2019, and I'm so grateful for it.

I hate gyms. I’ve had many sub par personal trainers. I had also become quite sedentary, getting winded simply walking up a flight of stairs. I turned 50 last January and was concerned with how much my body was already hurting doing typical daily activities. I booked a bucket list vacation over a year ago which included a strenuous gorilla trek (~8 hours at 7k-9k feet elevation). I figured if I had a goal I would become less sedentary. Nope! Begrudgingly, I searched for a personal trainer, also last January, with less than 7 months left to prepare for my trip to Africa. Well, it’s June and I am so much stronger, have greater endurance, and more flexible. My previous aches and pains are gone! I can’t believe how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time. I am no longer concerned if I’ll be fit enough for the trek. Instead, I am looking forward to it! Even more impressive, I LOOOOOOVE training, exercising, and moving so much. I never thought I would have such a healthy and joyful relationship with a gym or find another trainer that I loved working with. Yet, here I am! I have trained with Allie, Aaron, and Rebekah. They are all amazing and I can’t thank them enough for helping me get to where I am. I’m already thinking about what my next goal will be… probably cross country skiing. Maybe climbing a 14-er. Or, maybe just continue evolving into my even more fabulous, bad a** self.

I've been training at Garage 1880 since January as part of my ACL recovery, and it's been an incredible experience. Rebekah has been my main trainer since February and we quickly became friends over the past months. She tailors each session to my training goals, considering my current and past injuries, and will also build workout plans for when I travel. Every session with Rebekah I end up walking out in a better mood than when I walked in and have noticed a huge improvement in my strength and stability.
I've had the chance to train with Aaron, Veronica, and Allie as well, and they're all fantastic, each bringing their own unique training style and expertise. The Garage 1880 community is very supportive and makes the gym a joy to be a part of. If you're looking for a smaller gym and 1:1 training, I definitely recommend trying them out!

I have to echo all of the positive reviews of Garage 1880 and if you're looking for a place to train in Denver, this is the best out there! I've been training with Rebekah twice a week for nearly 4 months now after reading reviews online and its been the best training experience I've had - I am not only much stronger physically, but I'm also a lot more confident both in the gym and outside. Each session Rebekah encourages me to push past my perceived limits, while also making sure that that the workout is addressing a lingering ankle and hip injury. Her training reaches outside our session hours too - she recommends cardio, strength, and stretching (lots of stretching) so that I can continue my progress on my own time. She's really been a game changer in my fitness and health journey! Plus, Garage 1880 is just a really fun gym to be a part of - everyone is incredibly genuine, funny, and non judgmental. I really enjoy going to my sessions each week and I never thought that would be the case about going to the gym.

I train with Rebekah and it has been a perfect match. She's not only a good fit personality wise, but she's an amazing trainer. I found garage because it is only a few blocks from my apartment complex. I have always wanted to try personal training so I signed up for a consultation with Allie. My main goals were 1) learn how to lift weights so when I walk into a gym I kind of know what I’m doing. 2) be more consistent about working out. Allie was lovely! I didn’t feel intimidated by the gym or my lack of knowledge. I have been going 2x/week for 30 mins with Veronica as my trainer since November. Veronica is awesome and super chill. She has helped me a lot on my form and I have gotten stronger. Personal training is an investment but it’s the most consistent I’ve been in working out for years. The garage team works with you on your membership and if you are going to be away for a few weeks allows you to pause and resume it. If you are thinking about going, do it! You won’t regret it!

I honestly cannot recommend Garage 1880 enough. I was brand new to strength training plus coming off two pregnancies in as many years and Veronica is always challenging me without ever feeling overwhelmed. Every time I workout with Rebekah it’s a great but tough gym session. I enjoy the accountability, attention to detail with creating workouts, emphasis on proper form and the level of challenge/creativity she provides in her workouts. I did quite a few personal training sessions with Rebekah in the past year. She was wonderful at helping me correct form to reduce and limit injuries. She also pushed me to increase the weights I was lifting which in turn helped me gain confidence in myself.
Rebekah also did many personal training sessions with my teenage son after he went through a year of cancer treatments. She was able to help him safely gain back his muscle tone, strength, stamina and agility for playing sports, specifically baseball. She also helped him focus on better nutrition which helped him with his overall health and recovery after treatments.
I would highly recommend Rebekah as a personal trainer/fitness coach.

I’m so happy that I picked up the phone and called Garage 1880 a few months ago! I had seen some information about the gym on social media and visited their website before reaching out, but I wasn’t really sure what to expect. What I found was a community that was welcoming, encouraging, and caring – not just about my health and fitness, but about me as a person.
I was not new to working out or lifting before starting at Garage 1880, but it had been a while since I was in a good routine. I’ve been working out with Veronica for several months now and it’s been great – I look forward to every session (even though they’re early in the morning!) and I’ve seen so much improvement already. Veronica met me where I was when I started and has consistently challenged me to work harder and keep going. I am doing lifts now that I’d never done before, have increased my weight on basically everything, and am really starting to feel stronger in my body as well as in my mind.
Veronica and Allie both are great at instilling confidence, keeping you motivated, and pushing you outside of your comfort zone without ever making you feel uncomfortable. They’re my #1 cheerleaders when it comes to celebrating the little victories, like hitting a PR on a particular exercise. As a mental health provider AND just a human in the world who has struggled with harmful narratives around diet and exercise culture, I was very selective in picking a gym and personal training service I would invest my time and effort in. The vibe is 10/10 over here (which is good, because I spent probably twelve hours casing the internet to try to find a personal training situation in Denver where the vibe was right). Veronica is extremely good at her job — I am constantly being challenged and really appreciate the context/education and attention to detail she brings to my program. After a death in the family I had gained some weight, wasn't feeling like myself and was struggling with some health issues. I started working out with Veronica a few times a week and have seen a complete change in my body. I feel more confident, stronger physically and mentally, and capable of living and maintaining the adventurous and active lifestyle I want. At Garage 1880 the focus is not on macros or numbers on the scale. They focus on how you feel, correct form, small wins, and progress. I had previously worked with a trainer at another gym and although I saw results it was faster paced. I had frequent injuries and the focus was more on numbers/macros and less on form and fundamentals. I didn't find this to be a sustainable approach to a lifestyle change like I'm getting at Garage with Veronica. I've gotten to know Veronica and Allie over the last few months. I’ve been training Allie for the last 9 months and have not only loved working with her but have also seen amazing results.
I originally came to Allie to improve my posture, mobility and was suffering with knee pain. I saw fast improvements in those areas within the first 2 months and shortly after I started training with Allie, I got pregnant. Being pregnant, I am even more thankful I have Allie to train with. Now even at 7 months pregnant I have rarely experienced back pain (only exception has been after dancing at a wedding for hours) and have not had any knee pain! I truly feel that if I had not started following Allie’s strength program prior to and through pregnancy my back and knee would be much more problematic.
I love that Allie shares her knowledge and always explained why she has programmed certain exercises and changed movements as my pregnancy has progressed. I already have full confidence Allie will help me get my pre-baby body back quickly! If you’re looking for a trainer who can support you through all stages of life you have found her.
The gym is also a fun friendly environment. As someone who is new Denver, I have made some amazing friends and Allie helped me find my volleyball team through the gym! BTW Batman works out here :))

I’m not sure I can speak more highly of a gym than Garage 1880. It’s a place that has turned working out from a chore I tried not to ignore into something that I genuinely look forward to every time I come in.

This small personal training studio is fantastic. I participate in the group fitness classes once weekly. It’s a small class which maxes capacity at 8 people with two trainers. This allows for a 4:1 ratio which is essentially as close as you can get to private personal training for a group fitness class price. Allie is a spectacular trainer. She always checks in to see how I’m feeling, if any nagging injuries are acting up, or what I’m training for. The classes follow the same format for several weeks in a row, to see how you are improving each week before moving on to a new set of exercises. As a teacher in the fitness industry (yoga, dance, workout classes) for ten years, I can say with assurance how RARE it is to encounter the kind of work these ladies are doing and the attention they provide to details. After an assessment, Katherine led me through a sequence of movements to stabilize my knee which was injured years ago and never properly treated. I had gone to physical therapists but no one asked me the kinds of questions Katherine did right away. Her knowledge of anatomy and ability to offer insight felt uniquely personal and non-invasive. I started working with Allie in 2020 a few months after giving birth to my daughter. Allie is an expert when it comes to training new moms! Allie always had that I was postpartum at the forefront of everything she programmed for me to make sure my workouts were as safe and beneficial as possible for my postpartum body. I would not have had the mental and physical strength to get through the past few years (moving homes three times and having a baby in the pandemic), if not for my workouts sessions with Allie. The fact that Allie understands my goals and tailors my sessions around my lifestyle and habits is really what keeps me coming back….it’s sooo SUSTAINABLE! Let’s not talk about how AMAZING I look and feel. I can lift my 2 year old and run around with her with such ease!

I have had the best experience training at Garage 1880! Allie Is an incredibly patient and knowledgeable trainer who really makes you feel empowered to move your body in the way that works best for you! She made me a training program completely catered to my lifestyle and movement/strength needs and I have noticed huge differences! Additionally, I was fortunate enough to start training with Allie before the official opening of the gym and to see how hard she has worked and the community she has created at the Garage is incredible. I live in Lohi and the commute is just a short 5 minute drive, parking is easy, and the location has a great neighborhood feel. The space is professional, beautiful and is really catered to make you feel comfortable while working out. Thank you Allie and the Garage!!

Working out with Allie at Garage 1880 has been the best investment in myself. From the beginning Allie made me feel so important and put my body’s health as the top priority. I love that her focus is how your body feels, not how your body looks. My workouts are so personal to my needs and unique to my goals. I started working with Allie in Sept 2022 and I have nothing but amazing things to say about her, the gym space, and overall experience at Garage 1880. From my first visit, she was very open and transparent about what to expect— I never felt pressured or had to worry about if she was the right fit for me (something I struggled with while searching for a trainer). I also appreciate the time and attention to detail when it comes to creating a custom workout that protects my back and prevents discomfort. I look forward to working out now and am excited about the improvements I’ve seen in just a few shorts months!

Allie has an incredible ability during her group workout classes to make you feel like you're the only person in the room. She listens to any injuries or modifications you personally have and makes sure to.check in during each station in class. She is extremely knowledgable and helpful and I cannot recommend her more!!

Stumbled upon this place through a mutual friend and can't say enough good things about it! I ended up attending one of her group strength sessions and it was one of the best workouts i've had in awhile. Such a great environment and atmosphere - highly recommend!

If you're looking for a new trainer, you've found her! I started training with Allie a year ago and she has been such an amazing support system in my workout journey. Not only is she super knowledgable, intentional with her workout plans based on your needs, and passionate about the work she does, Allie is also super body positive and just an all around lovely person to work with! 100% recommend Garage 1880.

The group classes at Garage 1880 are incredible. Allie is a great trainer who's motivating, helpful, and understanding and the programs she creates are challenging yet adaptable. Her strength class is by far my favorite group class I've been to plus her playlists are A1. Highly recommend!!!

I have had a long career of working out and really felt that I knew everything in terms of fitness when I first met Allie and she quickly proved that I had a lot to learn. Allie is not only a shining light of a person but one of the most talented, knowledgeable, attentive, and motivating trainers you could ever work with. She keeps you on the right track in the kindest way, genuinely cares about the lives of her clients, shares her life and training experience in every session, and is just genuinely fun to be around. Oftentimes you don’t even realize you’ve been through an hour workout with how she programs. Allie also gets results. You will be the best version of yourself with her as your coach and cheering section, and if you take one thing from this review, it’s to GO to Garage 1880 and find out what you can accomplish!

If I could give more stars I would! I’ve been training with Allie since February 2020 and I couldn’t ask for a better experience. She genuinely cares about your goals and goes above and beyond to help you achieve them in a healthy and supportive way. I wanted to add lean muscle to my body & improve my strength. I have a slender build, so I always figured with my body type - that just wasn’t possible. But with Allie, I was able to add lean muscle and I finally got the booty I wanted for so long! Not to mention I felt strong for the first time and confident in my own body - physically and mentally. I never thought I would actually enjoy & look forward to my workouts - but they become a staple in my routine. In addition to the workouts, Allie introduced me to vegan protein shakes - which helped immensely in my quest to add muscle mass. I actually saw results working with her & I never have before. I started with Allie at a gym right next to my apartment and when she left to open her own spot - I followed her because I couldn’t imagine training with anyone else!

I was fortunate enough to already train with Allie at Garage 1880 before the official opening. I have been working out with personal trainers for over 13 years now and I can without a doubt say that Allie is not just my favorite trainer but the best trainer. Garage 1880 is the perfect testament to Allie's abilities and attention to detail. This is an investment in yourself and know you'll have the best trainer and space to train in with exceptional equipment. Coming from someone who has had multiple ankle surgeries I trust Allie to help me work on my mobility and strengthen my ankles. I worked out with Allie long before the new Garage 1880 space and whether it was at her home garage or Garage 1880 the workouts were ALWAYS incredible! Personal training with her got me in the best shape of my life. I started out under weight, not heathy and opting to skip meals over working out, I hated any form of exercise I ever did. In 2021 I decided I wanted to not only get healthy but get STRONG!! My Husband and I decided 2022 was our year to start trying to expand our family and I wanted to do that as my best self, so in comes Allie and Garage 1880! Working out with her I not only gained weight by putting on muscle but found exercises that I liked and would keep doing, I couldn’t believe how much stronger I got! It would not be an overstatement to say that training with Allie transformed my life. I came to her at 240lbs., no energy, no confidence. Allie is the best personal trainer, ever. If you are thinking about getting into weight lifting, but feel intimated by the environment as I did, please give her a call so she can erase all your fears! I have been training with her for six months and have had amazing results like toned arms, bigger glutes, and zero knee pain when hiking now. Not only is she an amazing trainer, but she is also an amazing person that has the kindest spirit and the most beautiful soul. She is a great listener and helps build your confidence. If you get the chance to personal train with her, you will not be disappointed.
