Equipment frequently broken. They had two Assault bikes, then down to just one with a wobbly pedal, and now that one’s been out of order for weeks. Had an employee tell me they were trying to “Frankenstein” the two together to make one working bike. This is supposed to be the fancy premier club. Not sure why they won’t buy new ones. They aren’t very expensive.

This morning safety was given a priority and that means a lot. I'm sure it wasn't the most convenient choice on a cold day, but the decision was made to be safe instead of sorry...that's appreciated

I’ve been coming to this gym for a while, and the environment is usually great, but I’ve had repeated negative experiences with an employee named Abby. Her interactions with both staff and members often come across as rude and unnecessarily harsh, which makes the atmosphere uncomfortable.

Edit: I see the owner responded, i will say, the I have had only positive interactions with house keeping staff. As for front desk, Abby rarley is helpful and I have heard her on multiple occasions threatening to fire house keeping staff.

Went to do a day pass at this gym, I was met by a very rude employee who said her name was Abby. She rolled her eyes at me and other members and employees as well as a very rude tone. She was dressed very unprofessionally wearing very short shorts and overall made my experience awful. I will not be coming back.

The customer service at the 901 Oakridge Dr. location is non existent. I had a membership for a year and paid my whole contract when I fell behind. I thought I canceled in September and it turns out I did not cancel. When I went in the see what could be done since the charge was still pending the membership manager was abysmal. She just kept repeating that I signed a contract and the billing already happened so she could not do anything. No compassion or understanding at all. To top it all off to try and be helpful she offered a free month of membership, ridiculous! I will NEVER sign up with them again!

UPDATE:

I see that the owner replied to my original post. The owner must have not read my post. I did not have issues with the contract and the gym was meeting my needs. I am upset because I am in customer service myself and I would never treat someone or speak to someone the way I was spoken to. Sounds like the owner is more worried about making the gym look good then actually take care of the customers or real issue.

I like the gym overall but be aware that there is some locker room theft. I had absentmindedly left my locker unlocked this past weekend and came back to my wallet and keys missing (but AirPods left in the shorts since they can be tracked) and the thief was already trying to buy some online gift cards within 30 mins of the theft.

A police report has been filed.

Was a member for over a year. Got tired of the outdated dangerous equipment at an absolutely absurd price. It seems they are more focused on profits then members. Not worth it.

UPDATE: Genesis finished the renovation they took forever to complete and got all new equipment, well almost all new. So i decided to give them another look and see about signing up again. The price went up substantially, the price I was offered was $173 a month for a family membership. I was paying $124 and that was absurd for construction and broken eguipment but I was willing to pay that again for the convenience now that everything is updated. Safe to say I left without signing up. Disappointing!

Place has been torn up for construction for 2 years and they’re still messing around working on it. It would be nice to see something completed instead of bouncing around and not finishing anything. Now the coffee bar is out of cream and milk. Front desk says they were told they were out. Safeway and King Soopers are nearby guys.

Miramont South is undergoing renovations, many of which are certainly needed, but two changes have disappointed me: the suggestion box has been taken away and the newspaper subscription has been discontinued. The only thing left to read while having coffee (I appreciated the provision of coffee!) are old magazines that other members have brought in.

This place used to be a good place to have a gym membership, but since the never-ending construction started over a year ago, numerous machines are in need of repair, pools closed constantly, steam room off all the time and more. Paying way too much for this center during the “construction phase” - feel like there should be a discount in order since everything just sits until the construction, one day, is done.

UPDATE:
FINALLY, some of the construction is getting finished, and starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hoping they do not get rid of the larger turf area (that takes half the old basketball court) - that area is such a great part of this gym, and the new turf area by the cardio is small and far too open.

The gym itself is usually being maintenance so you can’t even utilize things that you actually go there for Or the conditions or absolutely disgusting I’ve seen things as insane as mold, blood, and dry sweat throughout the gym.

I had a close friend that receive staff infection while using their sauna, Doctor diagnosed, After the incident, I immediately stopped going and canceled my membership, even that was a terrible experience.
I have noticed that the management often disseminates conflicting information, while the front desk customer service staff engages in conversations about drugs and parties, detracting from their customer service duties

I highly recommend you use other gymsk

I am not a memeber and in fact, I work at a competing gym. I was there yesterday to pick up my child from the children's camp and had the pleasure of speaking with Drew and Abby. They were courteous, well spoken, engaging, and if i was looking for a gym, they would've helped with a sign up. So, whoever the manager is, please let them know they did a fantastic job.

Been a member at this gym for about a year. Giving three stars for a convenient location, friendly/down to earth staff (especially Molly and Kaden when I see them), and the sweet turf area for workouts incorporating more natural movement.

I primarily come here for a few of the group classes and to unwind in the hot tub/sauna, so I can’t comment on the fitness equipment or weight lifting areas. I get in and get out. The whole place is under construction right now which brings some understandable setbacks, so I’m not sure how many of my observations will be taken care of in the construction process.

That said, the men’s locker room has definitely been in rough shape long before the construction began and is actually getting worse, especially in the shower area. One shower has no hot water at all, another dribbles either cold or scalding hot water, towel hooks and floor tiles are broken, visible mold on the ceiling…it’s starting to remind me of the showers after high school gym class, which I’d rather not pay to relive.

I know they’re doing their best to update things and maybe it’ll feel worth the cost when the renovations are done but right now it’s kind of hard to justify the price to myself. I don’t know if they’re in a position to discount memberships during all the transitional work but it might be a nice gesture.

Overall the club is fine, but it’s been pretty beat up and the current repairs are likely overdue. I’m sure the updates will improve the experience.

*** We followed up by replying to email given in the reply below. It's been 2 weeks, and we have still not heard back from anyone on the Genesis team. They could clearly care less about the safety of their members.***

We have had a family membership at Genesis for the last couple of years. Our experience has been fine.

They offer a few classes, the pool area is fun in the summer, and the Prospect location has a bar, so pretty much all the bells and whistles we are looking for.

We try to ignore the constant and seemingly never-ending construction because we are hopeful it improves the club and the amenities offered to the members.

Today I had such an unprofessional encounter with a young man, Tyler, at the front desk, that we will likely cancel our membership, and return to our former gym, Crunch, which is MUCH MUCH cheaper, has classes that are more fun, and a kind/friendly team.

Anyway, back to the check-in experience with Employee of the Month...

My son has only utilized the KidsClub on one prior occasion, so we are a little unsure how to get him checked in.

It seems like only one person (or computer perhaps) can check in the Kids Club. After waiting several minutes for Tyler to get off of the phone, he pretty rudely asked what I needed. To which I responded, I needed to check our son into KidClub. He scanned my membership card (which I have had for 2 years) and tells me that we do not have a credit card in file to charge for KidsClub, which I let him know is inaccurate.

He very very very, unprofessionally, raises his voice and tells me, "You DON'T HAVE a card on file! You'll have to call and talk to member services."

At this point, I am late for my class, but I ask him if he can pull up our account manually, to which he pulls up the wrong account. I know this because he flips the computer screen around so aggressively. He almost knocks it off the stand, and I can see an account pulled up. That's not our name.

At this time, inform him that it is not the correct account. He then informs me that there is nothing else he can do and just stares at me like he's going to jump over the counter and punch me in the face.

I guess it was some sort of a scare tactic to get me to leave?

I then asked to speak with a manager, and he tells me, "they don't have a manager." After clarifying whether that means today, or ever, he did say their manager's name is Dakota but unavailable.

I ask to talk to a different team member.

100% turn around.

The girl is nice, professional, and isn't looking to get into a fist fight, mid shift, with a middle-aged mom.

She asks for my phone number, immediately pulls up the correct account, and charges KidsClub to the card we have (for 2 years) had on file. She then checks the card Tyler originally scanned, that he threw on the floor in a fit of rage, and pulls up the correct account. The entire encounter took 90 seconds, and was handled perfectly.

Why was the first encounter so miserable? Why was it so complicated? And most importantly, why was it so aggressive?

Tyler is unprofessional, rude, lazy, aggressive, and comes across as, quite honestly, unhinged.

Tyler needs extensive training on his current job duties, customer service, and de-eclscalation. But more importantly, likely requires anger management on a professional level. Or maybe he just needs to dial back the 'roids.

Either way, he is a liability. And what happened today should have NEVER happened.

Due to negativity bias in reviews, I felt like I needed to write a positive one for other members of the fitness community here in Fort Collins. I almost did not evaluate Miramont South due to some of the recent reviews here on Google. I go to the gym regularly, but my current location has just shuttered their doors forcing another reevaluation of a gym home. My wife was a member in the past at Miramont South, and I I would also occasionally work out there with her. The negative reviews are correct in that there is a lot of remodeling and construction in progress. However the manager Michael Smith brought me throughout the facility and showed me the plans being implemented, explained the timelines and shared the vision for this facility. Having been involved with remodeling myself, it can be a frustrating process. However, what is being implemented at Miramont South looks like it will present itself as the best quality fitness center in Fort Collins, setting the bar above well above the other corporate options. Regardless of past experiences here, at least the current ownership is investing extensively in the site. The improvements are significant owing to the extent of the remodel in progress even with the inconvenience they present. Genesis' other two locations are available as backup alternatives for when you prefer to make that tradeoff. From what I was shown by Michael today, I think the only reason to consider another option is price or to temporarily wait out the remodeling that is in progress.

I do not post reviews, and that is readily apparent. But at this point I really don’t know what to do because this gym has become sub standard and in disrepair. This gym used to be great, but now is an utter disappointment. Calling Miramont South a club in its current state is disingenuous.

The excuse I have heard repeatedly after bringing these issues up is “we are in a state of construction”. That doesn’t address any of the issues that myself or other members have raised though. Especially in terms of safety and hygiene.

At this point the perception is that Miramont South has prioritized building tennis courts and remodeling staff space over basic safety, hygiene, and serviceable equipment.

Here’s a small list of the things that are persistent issues. I would attach pictures but given the fact that multiple other people have posted pictures corroborating these issues, or said something similar it seems a moot point(Also, basic privacy and common sense dictate not filming or taking pictures in a locker room).

-The men’s locker room and hallways are a fall hazard with little to no slip protection. The gym has a significant geriatric demographic that has a significant fall risk. This could easily be addressed.

-The hallway from the men’s locker room leading to the pool consistently has tepid or cold standing water due to poor drainage whether it’s 530 in the morning or 9 at night.

-Multiple weight machines are regularly broken with pins that don’t match the machine and begin to dislodge during lifting. There are other machines with cables and handles that either get caught, are broken, or have sharp edges. In several cases they have remained like that for weeks at a time after reporting it to gym staff( just put a broken sign on it)

- A good portion of machines and cardio equipment are outdated, and frankly in low quantity

-The floors are dirty in the gym, as well as the locker room. Additionally the men’s bathroom floors rarely do not have some quantity of urine pooled under the urinals

- The showers, and tiles of the showers plus steam room have oxidation and rust residue present throughout. Not to mention the soap stains or hair on the walls and floors on a semi regular basis

-The bathing suit dryer in both the men’s and women’s locker rooms (word of mouth on the women’s locker room from my wife) already had regular downtimes but now have just been ripped off the walls with a gross residue left behind

-the showers are outdated with no drainage trough, and rather a gravity system that runs all of the water into a single stall in both shower aisles. At least one shower head doesn’t get hot water, another has a leak at the faucet handle that sprays cold water out of it, and there are regularly broken or empty soap dispensers(even right at opening). On top of that the shower heads are old with leaks, poor water pressure, or have clogs in the sprayers

-HVAC vents and fans are disgusting with dust and grime building

-I can’t recall a time that the steam room consistently worked

-The hot tub functionality is hit or miss. On several occasions there have been bandaids floating or sitting on the edge or the hot tub as well

-The sauna wood, as well as the door are falling apart, and the thermostat has completely fallen off at this point

-Lockers are in disrepair with loose or overly tight combo wheels, and at least one locker door is just ripped off the cabinet for inexplicable reasons

-Towel stock is inconsistent in the locker rooms. On multiple occasions staff have placed towels out for use that appear to have fecal matter stains.

Small edit- the used towel bins are persistently full and overflowing

There’s plenty I haven’t said, or just haven’t seen I’m sure but I think this is demonstrative enough of the poor quality experience this gym now provides to its members.

I truly hope this location can redeem itself because at this point it’s a complete mess. I would recommend Genesis members with multi gym passes to go elsewhere until Genesis addresses basic concerns like the ones I and others have listed.

Equipment and facilities maintenance has declined severely over the past two years. Less than half of the cardio machines even work and literally all of them are in some form of disrepair. Men’s locker room and showers are a perpetual mess to the point of unsafe. Constant lack of hot water and broken showers. Nothing is ever fixed and this gym costs over twice as much as most others in town. I’ve voiced my concerns to management for years. They continue to use “renovation” as an excuse, but absolutely nothing is being maintained in the meantime. I’ve been a member for over six years and made a point to support this gym through the pandemic. They were completely disinterested and unconcerned about my recent membership cancellation. Sad, this gym used to be worth the higher membership fees, but not anymore. I regret not canceling sooner.

The outdoor pool is broken, many of the lockers in the men's and women's locker rooms are broken, the bathing suit drying machine in the women's locker room is broken, the bathing suit machine in the men's locker room has a broken brake system so the machine stops making noise but continues spinning incredibly fast. If you were to reach your arm inside while spinning it would surely cause serious injury. Many pieces of cardio equipment are broken. The community dry sauna is always very dirty with gross dust balls coming out from under the heating unit. There are broken pieces of wood and nails sticking out as well. The hot tub is almost always not working, often there is no hot water for showers. The staff is friendly and listens the problems but clearly complaints to staff are not enough to change the basics. Please do not get a membership here, maybe if they lose enough business, it will make sense to the ownership to spend a little money on the things that make a health and fitness club a health and fitness club.

See pictures for what $150 a month for the last 4 years has gotten me. Some of those soap stains have been there since COVID days. Avoid this place. Hot water supply is unreliable and steam room never works. They excuse it away by saying that they are renewing and rebuilding everything....in the meantime, customers still pay the same for sub par "lifestyle fitness". This review is being posted as a last resort, after numerous complaints to management, managers on duty, staff on duty, and membership personnel.

Genesis South has been an excellent experience! I'd stepped in pretty clueless as to how to properly do just about anything in a gym, so I really appreciated the 3 free personal training sessions. Todd is the absolute man & I can't recommend the dude enough. The staff is super cool, especially Molly, who has been incredibly motivating and sweet throughout my subscription here. Awful!! Beware! This club could be 1/2 the price they charge and would still be marginal value. The hot tub has worked less than 1/2 the time I have been a member and tried using. 90 degrees. Last night was the straw that prompted the review I hope others read and demand action to address the shortfalls this club continually has. Aerobic exercise machines that don't read heart rate, monitors don't work and or headphone jacks that don't work are the norm here. 2 of the 8 TV's don't work.
Abd this club location requires a "Premium" Membership to go to.
They are about to charge members an annual "Maintenance Fee" on top of their high monthly membership fee.
That is an absolute travesty when no repairs are taking place for what one employee said, "they (Genesis) are waiting for the renovation"! Buy a new heater for the hot tub! Fix broken equipment. Or don't have the audacity to charge every member a maintenance fee!!
I have been a member of a club at this location from its early start in 1996 as Miramont Health Club. Longtime members need to voice their dissatisfaction with what it has become.
One response I received from the General Manager was asking me to take the time to report all the equipment that does not operate properly. Really? Isn't that something an employee of Genesis can do? And again, why if there are no efforts to repair what you already know is not functioning?

Genesis South has taken a decline. Spin bikes are broken, rusted, and overall the room is dirty. Air conditioning doesn’t work and it’s become more hot spin. Someone is going to get hurt and possible heatstroke. I feel for the instructors who are the front lines who continue to have to listen to complaints.
They say that they are going to renovate, but there has been no movement or updates.
I have been a member for over 12+ years. I pay ‘premium’ for South, yet it’s not Premium.
They need to figure out the air conditioning, equipment and facilities overall.
Sad. Disappointed.

The only saving grace is the instructors. Shout out to Ronnie who does great rides in his spin classes. If it wasn’t for him and a few other instructors, I would have cancelled my membership 2 years ago!

We have been members for 2 plus years, I love how close they are, but more and more things are falling into disrepair, and cleanliness is very poor. The AC wasn’t working most of the summer, the hot water goes out constantly now, so we can rarely shower here. Hot tub is down about half the time, machines are down for 6mo plus at a time, and sometimes it’s so disgusting in the showers and hot tub I don’t want to use them anyways. We repeatedly have to ask for the hot tub to be cleaned as it gets very scummy. Seems like all the money is going into more tennis courts instead of keeping the gym up and running and clean. We go to the prospect gym more and more because it is far cleaner. I honestly have a hard time recommending this gym anymore because of these issues.

In order for a child to take a class , they need to have a child account and a $34 recurring monthly fee associated to it. For them to attend the class that you have to pay for on top of that amount. You have to sign a contract but there is no notification of this monthly bill sent, so if the class has ended you will still be charged for this for months or even years without any one notifying you. Needless to say we got a new credit card and they sent a letter that my child's account was overdue! An account we hadn't used for 6 months. So I went in to cancel it & was given a waive on the late fee & charged the last $34 dollars and told it was done. A few weeks later I receive another overdue letter from their corporate office that my child's account is still in arrears for not giving a 30 day notice & a late fee - for an account he hadn't used in 6 months. 😡I recommend being very skeptical of their contracts and business practices. Yes, I could go around and verify each member of my families individual purchases but not having a paying member check-in at your business for over 6 months should have been a huge flag to do their due diligence to ensure responsible business practices.

Business practices aside, the tennis class was lovely for my 10 yr old the few weeks he took it. Just not worth the hundreds of extra dollars I was charged, collection letters, rise of blood pressure, time wasted after ward, or overall rigmarole. Proceed with caution or just find a class through the city. Needless to say, my spouse and our growing children will not be part of the Genesis family ever again.

Upgraded my gym pass to have access to the South location for the family to enjoy the pool as well as the hot tub. The hot tub went down several weeks ago, which I understand it takes time to fix. But when I called to ask the status, before making the 20 minute drive, I was told it was all fixed. It's open, but it is as cold as the indoor/outdoor pool. Then when my partner asked staff about it, if they have a time-line on when it might be fixed, the young woman replied, "I don't know, do you?" She was on face time and couldn't be bothered to deal with a valid question. Fingers crossed I'm not locked into this expensive membership.

I’ve been a member at this facility since the year 2000. I’ve seen it go from a privately owned company to much larger company with locations in other states outside of Colorado. Since that transition, I’ve seen the overall quality of the club go down specifically to the cleanliness of the locker rooms, bathrooms, sauna, hot tub, steam room, etc.…. The cardio area is really really good with lots of tread mills, stationary bikes, stair, climbers, etc…and set up well. The weight room has basically everything one would need to lift weights. However, it is smaller than the north location and the machines are placed very close to one another. There is a lower area which used to be a full length basketball court. Half of the basketball court has been transitioned into a turf area with squat, racks pull up bars, multipurpose apparatus, kettle, bells, dumbbells, etc… the other half of the basketball court remains a basketball court half court that would be with a third basket. I don’t use the tennis facilities. However, those who I know who played tennis are very impressed with the overall tennis facility and how tennis is run at this club. There is also an outdoor pool with lifeguards. Food and beverages are available as well. Overall, this is a great club on the south end of town whether you are a student or a family with children who would take advantage of all of the facilities. I’ve been a member for 24 years and I’ll keep going when I’m on that side of town.

There is an excellent amount of equipment and plenty of classes offered included with membership. There are a few non exercise related items that I believe could be improved but I will send those privately to the club for now. Overall I have and would recommend Genesis to others.

Sneaky and greedy, as to be expected. My fiance and I were told upon signing up for our memberships that if we cancelled before the 15th of the June, we would not have to pay for the following month nor the annual maintenance fee. I put that in my calendar as I was in the room signing my membership documents, because I had a feeling that they would be shady when the time came for us to move and cancel our memberships.

Sure enough, we went in yesterday to cancel our memberships and were informed that because we did not give 30 days notice for our cancellation (instead of before the 15th as stated upon beginning our membership) we would be paying for the following month, the maintenance fee, AND a $40 cancellation fee in addition to the robotic "iT's oUr pOLiCy, tHeRe'S nOtHiNg wE cAn dO" speech. Greedy and sneaky, though this isn't much of a surprise for big businesses in 2023.

Take your business elsewhere and avoid the hundreds of dollars in fees. These greedy people don't deserve your hard earned money just for a semi-decent gym and fancy smoothie bar that isn't even open for half the year.

My family and I have a membership at Genesis and overall love it, especially for the weights, cardio equipment, yoga classes, and kids club. All of that has been excellent. However, I write this because we have totally given up on the aquatics program, mainly because of irresponsible staff who can't communicate or show up for lessons. Last summer I reached out to the Fort Collins Club to inquire about private swim lessons for my daughter. I was connected with the person I was told was the head of the aquatics program and communicated with him via email. He forgot about our first lesson and someone had to go get him. We started 30 minutes late. He told me he was sorry because it was hard for him to keep up with emails so asked me to text him. The next Friday, the night before our next lesson, I texted him to confirm the appointment on Saturday. He said he was sorry because he would have to cancel since he had gotten a new tattoo the Wednesday before and couldn't get in the water. When I complained, I was told there were better teachers at the Miramont South location. This summer I reached out to them and was put in contact with a teacher. She texted me to initiate the conversation but then never responded to any other messages. I told management and was put in contact with another teacher. That teacher canceled the morning of our first lesson because she was sick. The next week when I reached out to confirm the time of our lesson, she told me she had quit Genesis and couldn't teach us anymore. I understand people change jobs but surely Genesis should consider communicating with clients of their staff if someone leaves. I should have been told before I asked.

Genesis is great overall, but I don't recommend attempting private swim lessons. They have wasted so much of our time. I hope someone from more senior management reads this and actually does something to improve the staff.

I recently attended the gym and was met with a negative interaction with the woman at the front desk. I was a seasonal employee for last summer and was under the understanding that I maintained a staff membership for a year following my hiring date. When leaving the facility, the front desk lady rudely told me I was not allowed to be working out because I am not currently employed. Though I was under a misunderstanding, and had previously mis-articulated my current employment state, she was extremely rude in informing me that my understanding was wrong. I am extremely disappointed in the employee customer interaction, and would also like to note that working here as an employee was unacceptable in the lack of support, payment, and understanding. This facility is unkind to their employees and their customers.

Ripe for competition to pick them off! We joined in 2012, left for a couple of years, and then returned. Sadly, the club looks pretty much the same, but in a state of disrepair. No joke, they must have run out of pre-printed "out of order" signs and have just started handwriting them. The long-term staffers are solid and overall, the staff is very friendly. A few front desk staff are mostly stuck on their phones and “might” acknowledge you enter or exit. Towel shortages, broken knobs on the sauna, broken bathing suit water extractor, tired or non-functional cardio machines, dust and mold in vents, etc. It’s just unfortunate that the new ownership has not invested back in the club. The staff and members deserve better.

They have a lot of amenities at the facility and that is why we go there, but all it would take is a competitive club to come to town and the membership would nosedive. Maybe they know that and are just going to ride the train until it happens, who knows?
Hopefully, they will reinvest in the club.

I’ve been a member of this club for more than 20 years. Back in the Miramont days, it was one of the best facilities in FC. Not now! Under Genesis it has deteriorated to be one of the worst. For > 2 weeks now we have no hot water in the showers. There are 8 TVs on the cardio floor; only 6 have worked for the last half year. The cardio machines are worn out - half of them are to rough to use, if even working and 1/3 can’t get the audio from the TVs. Towel shortages are frequent. To top it all, the studios for classes have had unreliable heating and cooling for well over a year. We’re going through a 2nd winter with unregulated temperature. It’s impossible to do an exercise class in an 80 degree room in summer or a 50 degree room in winter. I only maintain membership here because my wife enjoys time with her dear friends. The place is a dump. This club is just begging for some real competition to put it into a final death spiral and a quick ending.

Best gym, best all of it. It is more expensive than your average gym, not going to lie about it. Because the cost was a major factor for me. But you don't buy the least expensive laptop, or the cheapest possible food either. You get something that will sustain. The pair of boots that will last you a few years. That's this gym. Every time I turned around for the piece of equipment I wanted, or the extra room I needed to feel properly socially distanced, it was there. (Fair note: this was after my first day, will update as I go.) So far though I feel pretty valued, and they've got the covid thing down. Just wish covid wasn't a thing.

I know where I'll be with my spare time.

UPDATE: Ookkaay... So it's been 5 days now and I absolutely love it. Finally making the commitment and making the time for this in my life was absolutely necessary. They offer more than I can post. But getting a personal trainer, making the time for me. You can't get a better value. Just do it. I'll update again in a few weeks.

2ns update: 09/13/22

I moved to gympass, which was a pain in the butt. But, they were able to work it in. In addition, gympass refunded me a month due to their app being stupid. Still an excellent gym. And worth the money. That said, more gyms are popping up. The reason I go to genesis? Because I need a place to get away, and I want working out to be about working out. Not about finding the equipment, or fighting for a treadmill. So, in that respect this is the gym for you. Because it's a better way of life.

I would like to applaud all of the hard work and outstanding customer service that I received from Lisa Erickson - the Regional Sales Manger for Genesis Health Clubs in Colorado. I had major issues cancelling my membership and paid for 4 months membership when I was unable to use the facilities, as I had moved away. My phone calls and emails were unanswered. Lisa jumped in and got the cancellation to go through. She then followed up and apologized for all the issues afterward, and offered me a 6 month complimentary membership if I ever returned to the area.
Well, 6 months later now, I did return to the area. I sent Lisa an email and sure enough, she was still there, and the offer was still good.
Now I will get to use the facilities for the 4 months I paid for and I get extra time for no charge.
I will for sure will re-join the club if things work out and I stay in the area. Meanwhile, Thank You Lisa and Genesis Health Clubs - You Rock!

We’ve been attending Genesis in some fashion for over 15 years. There are many things Genesis offers that are difficult to find elsewhere. The staff is amazing. Everyone we encounter in each division is such a great person, eager to help, kind and considerate. The daycare staff is fantastic!! We love being members of the Tennis club. We enjoy playing year round and the instructors are all fantastic and really know their stuff. We’ve had our kids take swim lessons for many years and had great experiences with them as well. I’ve been to many gyms across the country as part of my travels, and this one is great. The only things that need improvement are the equipment and the general look and layout once new equipment is installed. It is old stuff for how nice the rest of the gym is. The walls and pictures are from Miramont days and need to be updated as it’s been more than a decade and there is new ownership. Once those are fully updated with state of the art stuff and looking new, it’ll for sure be a 5/5.

Buyer Beware. Miramont, previously a locally owned health club, went downhill significantly after they were bought out by Kansas-based Genesis Health Clubs. Membership costs have gone up dramatically for fewer benefits, and good luck trying to cancel when your contract is up. Equipment and machines are awesome the CrossFit/basketball room are fantastic and the trainers seem to be pretty solid. However, this gym has one of the worst pool scheduling systems out there. Now that the season is winding down and the outdoor pool becomes more and more inaccessible the indoor pool is where most swimmers have to go. Usually this is fine, however, there are so many classes going on that it is almost impossible to get in at a decent time whether you reserve a lane or not. Reserved lanes are not marked and some classes don’t even appear on the website.

1. Make a weekly spreadsheet schedule that shows available times for walk in swim and reservations rather than your current inaccurate online list.
2. FIX THE POOL HEATERS.
3. Mark lanes when they’re reserved to stop confusion and reduce lane usage in 2-4 person swim classes from the current 2 or 3 to just one and allow lane reservations during these times.

Love being a member at Miramont South. It feels like a community, great instructors, great classes. Loved the pool and cafe this summer. Yummy food and great service! My son loves the childcare and other activities too.

I recommend not signing up here they will charge you for a membership that you cancelled. Wish I could give you zero stars. The people who work here do not no how to do there jobs. They will not cancel you membership and will charge you month to month. This is such a scam. This was all during COVID when the gym was not open. Have over 50 calls going over and over again on how this was cancelled.
