I advise anyone who is interested in a gym membership to not go here. Miranda (GM) removed my original cancellation from golds gym records (after I paid my dues and filled out the form in person), which created reoccurring charges months after up to now. I continue to get charged after filling out another cancellation form. To sum it up, itβs fraud. If you have any common sense I suggest looking else where. I plan to go to the courthouse today to begin the process of taking them to court since they continue to destroy my credit and I have documentation proving I paid the full balance off. Boooπ

The gentleman at the front desk was incredibly condescending of my "franchisee membership", only to tell me that my home gym had been bought out and although I signed up for and pay golds gym my "membership" had no validation. Thanks bud, could've at least been nice about it. Went to 24 hour instead and paid for a 3 month membership, golds won't see another cent from me.

Do not ever use gold's gym I cannot stress that enough.they stuck me for a late payment on the same day I update my credit card information from being stolen they are still trying to charge me after I don in and told the person at the front desk that you have to fill out a form to cancel they said you do not in the gym wasn't there so I couldn't anyways. now I'm in another state still being charged for an account that was supposed to be canceled but wasn't because the person at the front desk was misinformed. gold's gym is so eager to just take your money for any reason any mistake that it is unfair to the people who have gym membership.

Great gym. The equipment is in excellent condition and there is plenty of it. The people that work out there are good about replacing weights where they go, and wiping off the used equipment. Staff are always courteous, and provide service with a smile. There are classes offered daily, and there are several to choose from. I would recommend this gym to friends.

They offer childcare but only if they are 3 months and older. This doesnβt make any sense to me when all daycares and other gyms take infants at 6 weeks. So I cannot go to the gym.

Horrible customer service. Signed up in December for a month to month membership. About a month later, my brother came in to add himself to the month to month account. We asked the salesperson several times if this add on was no contract and he said yes. They had my brother sign a bunch of times on an electric signature pad, while explaining what he was signing. It was the usual βwe are not liable for injuryβ etc. skip forward 4 months and we decide to cancel our membership as we were paying $75 for both of us and found better value elsewhere. They tell me we need to pay a $100 fee because we were βbreaking a contractβ that we never knew we supposedly entered. My brother is 17 years old and can not legally sign or he held to a contract. When I spoke with the manager, Heather Racca, she was incredibly rude and would not waive this fee. She said the employee that signed us up is no longer with the gym as if this made a difference. It was still her salesperson that scammed my brother into unknowingly signing a supposed 1 year contract after we were persistent that we wanted month to month. When we went into the gym to speak with her she told us to contact her attorneys. Then she disappeared and left us with her front desk employee to sign cancelling paperwork. Iβm writing this to warn customers to stay away from this gym. There was 0 customer service in fixing this issue. If you do decide to join this gym, make sure you view all your paperwork and donβt take their word on what you are signing.

Worst gym management Iβve ever experienced. I loved the employees and the people but The general manager of this place Heather just needs to be let go ASAP. Not enough that I was overcharged $50 on the first 2 months of my membership( which btw was her fault as well as she was the one who βhelpedβ me join) but when I tried politely explaining what happened, she treated me like sh*t and was openly rude and very disrespectful(TWICE). Cherry on the top? 2 days later I got an email confirmation of my MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION. Was I spoken to about this? No. Am I gonna go to another gym? Definitely.

Been a member for 7 years. Even has gotten less crowded so there is never a wait for equipment.
Briargate location has rediculous # of machines, which is great for injured, or if that's your thing; raquetball and basketball court, but their hot tub is busted, and will prob never be fixed (their words). Full size lap pool.
Palmer Park location is awesome. Steam and sauana rooms are in respective locker rooms (no co-ed, ladies), cardio Cinema, and their hot tub works. Fairly "new" facility, lots of free weights, also a lap pool.

I have a service connected disability with my lower back , knees, and ankles. The ankles are whats acting up specifically and that's whats preventing me from going their to work out. I feel like I'm being disciplined for my military service now which is really weird. I only came here because it said $1 gets you started.

She says this like she's said it a Zillion times.....IN ORDER TO CANCEL YOU HAVE TO VISIT AT LEAST 8 DAYS , AND ALSO HAVE AN INITIAL FITNESS EVAL WITH ONE OF THE STAFF AND ANOTHER PRIOR TO CANCELLING. I told her of my physical ailments from the military that have prevented me from coming in...I could just totally get the vibe she's had this similar conversation many times before with folks!
If you want to avoid this in the future then change how you guys do things, but nah Golds wants money so they don't care if their managers are rude as long as Golds get their money!

Update: If I'm going to leave a less than stellar review it needs to be objective and not based on emotion. I was very frustrated the morning that no one showed up to open the gym and I wasn't able to get in a workout. The reality is, this was one event and I have no idea what occured that kept the gym from being open on time. The other reality is, the majority of the time I love my gym. Heather and her team keep it clean, stay on top of keeping the equipment working properly and it's never ridiculously crowded.

The cancellation process and customer service is some of the worst I've ever experienced in my life. I fulfilled my contract obligation well over the date I agreed upon and gave ample notice (30 days prior to the next billing cycle) upon cancelling my membership. I was sent an email notification stating I'd be charged an additional month although I did so well over the 30 day cancellation clause stated in the Golds Gym contract agreement. I talked to four Golds employees stating I'm not going to be charged. I requested to speak with a manager on three separate occasions and was never contacted by an employee or management. When speaking with Heather, the general manager face to face she repeatedly told me I was wasting her personal work time, she was extremely rude upon explaining my situation, and reportedly assured me it'll be taken care of. What constitutes proof? I asked for an email assuring me my membership is cancelled and received a generic email which didn't seem official. I wanted official email documentation of the cancellation stating I won't be charged for an additional month. I was sent an email by her and it was generic with acronyms that didn't make sense and doesn't clearly state the situation is resolved. I've filed a auto pay cancellation with my bank, filed a formal complaint with the BBB, contacted local news channels to inform them and the public, and will contact a civil lawyer if I'm erroneously charged. FYI: There is 1,000s of complaints online through various review outlets about cancellation issues with Golds Gym nation and worldwide. The review seems small in nature however; consumers should be protected and aware. Facilities were nice and the staff was friendly with exception of the general manager. There is no corporate customer support available either so an individual could be charged at the gym's discretion. I will never recommend or use Golds Gym again.

I was looking for a place to workout in Colorado Springs. I was a member of the Gold's Gym in Rustic Hills for about four years. During my time as a member I found myself constantly giving the staff and gym the benefit of the doubt. However, I finally grew tired of their mess and decided to cancel my membership.
I prefer to workout in the mornings, and this gym boasts a opening time of 5AM. I've never actually seen them open this early. They should change it to 530AM-ish if our staff can manage. Imagine waiting in the parking lot for someone to show for a membership that you pay for every month ON TIME and then have them not show up on time. I expressed my concerns to βmanagementβ. Gym management assured me they would fix it, but they never did, nor did they care enough to actually show up themselves.
Now for the cleanliness: Most gyms have the staff and cleaning crews out on the floor all day long to make sure the place is tidy and SANITARY. At Gold's Gym Rustic Hills this is apparently optional for all staff, I have never actually seen a professional cleaning crew on site either.
The staff does as much as they can to make you feel unwelcome and cumbersome to their day. That environment is just a bummer to workout in. So I decided to cancel my membership. I called and I was ready to provide all the information they might need, unfortunately not to my surprise they had no interest in helping me. The woman who answered the phone snapped at me βYou have to come in and fill out a form, then we will start the process!β.
I know what you are thinking they must have something special I need to do there. Maybe turn in my membership card, maybe meet with a member of management to have them tell me how much they appreciate my business and they would love to earn it in the future. No, that is not what happened.
I drove down to the gym and they asked for my first and last name. They looked me up in the computer, wrote my membership number on a form and then had me fill out information they already had. Why couldn't we do that over the phone!? The good news is there was a member of management standing in ear shot of the conversation... No she didn't come over.
As I pulled out of the parking lot I was gifted with one last Rustic Hills Gold's Gym experience. One of the employees was standing outside taking dozens of selfies so she could get the perfect angle of her working hard helping customers. So long Gold's Gym in Colorado Springs.

YOU TAKE CONTROL. Only pay them, with a Walmart card, that way you can cut them off when you please. Don't trust them to stop taking money when notified. My favorite part about this gym, is being verbally assaulted by an employee while she was in plain clothes working out. Like some how she must have thought that when she removed her golds polo shirt she magically was unrecognizable as an employee. She went on a disgustingly homophobic and insulting rant. All because I paused slightly ( I still agreed to move) when she asked me get off a squat rack because it was blocking the mirror view of her husband. The level of stupidity in a person to believe they wouldnβt be immediately recognized as an employee and to believe that just because she is on her time, it exhonerated her of any responsibility as an employee. THIS is the level of employee you will get to deal with here.

My husband and I have had a membership at this club for 3.5 years. Due to an apparent revolving door, in this short time we've experienced 3 different general managers, 3 different group fitness managers, housekeeping mostly ebb with occasional flow, front desk employees who are able to say hello and scan fobs and if there happens to be a mix up with billing (and it's on their end) it's a nightmare because no one in the building can do anything to help you. That becomes a corporate issue and they have limited availability.
The ONLY reason we stay is that we like the location and we are able to make the most of our workouts for ourselves. Group fitness instructors we've had are personable, helpful, well-trained and for the most part well-prepared to teach classes. Some of the classes we've come to enjoy have been eliminated due to lack of participation. If the front desk folks were better informed about types of classes (or if the web site was accurate and up-to-date with info), the schedule, etc there may be more people in the GGX rooms come class time. The web site can't even stay up-to-date with current GM info.
The big push here is for the add-on, extra-fee experiences with Gold's Fit and personal training. Lots of attention is given to the members who spring for these.
If you're self-motivated, want a local gym and don't require a clean bathroom this is your spot.

Well... it's a gym. It has a pool and the equipment is decent, when it's not out of order. Usually not crowded, which is nice. So 1 star doesn't seem fair. But honestly, there are so many other gyms in the city, I'd pick a different one. I worked out here for a year before I just couldn't handle it any more.
The management here is just sub par. Things (machines, pool, sauna, hot tub, showers) are constantly "out of order" for a week or more. I can't count how many times I had to hunt to find a shower that had soap in it or they were out of paper towels.
Cleanliness... I've never gotten sick as much as I did in the last year. I love swimming, but I got to the point where I felt like I got sick whenever I used the pool.
The 30 day cancellation policy is a joke (which is Golds Gym in general). Real dates: I notified them I wanted to cancel on December 19th. The way their math works, my membership will finally end March 15th. Apparently it's 30 days plus a month on either side... with no flexibility. Ok guys, really?

I have been coming to the gym for a few weeks now and the front desk personnel are not motivated or that helpful. They donβt mind greeting you but if you ask them for help they look put-out and one of the front desk employees even rolled her eyes right in front of me. The lack of professionalism reflects poorly on the management staff. If it happened once then that is someone just having a bad day but, more than once there is an issue that needs to be addressed in their daily/weekly staff meetings. My feeling is if an employee does not like their jobs then they should not inflict themselves on others after all they are taking a pay check and should act professional.

the daycare i didnt feel comfortable leaving my child with the morning lady. she is rude and didnt seem to care for the kids. when i adviced something abt my child or asked questions she would respond with an attitude, i gave her 3 chances thinking maybe its a bad day for her but no i didnt see a change so i stoped going in the morning and went at night.
trainer i got not really devoted, props for pretending though but actions speak loader than words she said from the beggining im going to keep in touch with u abt ur food n what u do when ur not here n make a list and bla bla...The day she made that list was when i told her im leaving and then she started saying we can do this and that like too late why didnt u care b4..
I asked worker for help on a machine i didnt know how to use and she didnt know either smh so the cool futures they have i couldnt use. didn't bother to say let me see who can help u haha such great customer service.
I dont have a contract so i cancelled and they still want to charge another month or ill b sent to collections waaaooooo.

the management and staff here are terrible!! they hide behind their contracts whenever an issue of customer service comes up and refuse to do anything that they are not contractually obligated to do. read the fine print carefully and review all other options before settling for this miserable gym

Me and my wife are thinking about joining this gym. We went to the gold's gym up north and loved it. It was (clean,) and had a great staff . Hopefully this gold's will be perfect for what we are looking for it's close to where we live. And has all the amenities. What's the best time to go where they are not so busy.

Very nice and clean facility. The staff is friendly and the amount of space inside this gym never makes it feel crowded. One thing I don't like much is machines they have, can't remember the name but I prefer hammer strength machines.

Was required to pay an extra month when canceling membership, cost 40$ monthly for the bare minimum when it comes to equipment, Planet Fitness has more for 10$ monthly. Even if the reason for leaving is moving and you will no longer be anywhere near a golds they still charge you.
all in all just a horrible waste of money, if you want to get a memebership i reccomend going to 24- hour or planet fitness cause their prices are reasonable and you are not bound by contract.

I love this gym it is the newer of the two Gold's gyms in Colorado Springs. It usually doesn't seem crowded unless of course you're in a popular class like body pump on Saturday. However you can still get a spot on crowded days. I like the layout and its spacey. They gym is always clean and the staff is nice.

Been a member for a few months now, the billing issues were resolved and it's just been the daily grind. Not too busy in the afternoons. Only complaint is the men's showers smell horrid but I'm not there to take a luxurious shower anyways. Also might want to get another Jacob's ladder, I've broken it personally twice using it.
Me & My Wife Signed Up Less Than 18 Hours Ago. We Put My Wife's Card On File For The Monthly Fees. I Gave The Employee MY CARD For The Initial Fees & Lo And Behold This Morning My Wife's Card Was Charged The Fees Along With A 50$ Overdraft Fee Through Her Credit Union. Her Credit Union Would Not Refund The Fees Because We Had THE SAME ISSUE AT PLANET FITNESS. THAT'S The Reason We
Gave Them MY CARD. Not Hard To Understand Right? We Came In To Rectify The Situation & Were Told That A Refund Would Take 30 Days. It Was THEIR Mistake But We Have To Pay For It. I've Never Ran Into A Business That Makes A Mistake & Not Take Accountability, Ridiculous. Incompetent Employees Beyond Reason. Customer Service Is Non-existent. The Gym Is Nice But Don't Expect Much More Out Of Them. Personable & Reasonable Customer Service Doesn't Exist Anymore. Thanks Golds!

I like the gym set up and all it has to offer. My only complaint are some of the weight machines are a little weird, they have this "swinging" on most of them. Also, the lack of squat racks. There are three and are always occupied. They could also use another dead lifting platform.

Let me start off by saying Rustic hills has the most unpleasant manager known to corporate America. Good luck getting ahold of her, and getting her to do her job. The company itself is a scam - should have seen that coming after seeing their selection process in hiring a manager. They're only out to take your money whichever way possible. Watch for the cancellation paperwork, cancelling 30 days prior to your end of contract, and the fees associated with that. And as an added bonus, if they screw up your cancellation paperwork you get to go in to fix their mistakes.
The facility itself is fine if you don't mind weaving in and out of people.
