Great instructors, equipment (reformer tower) and small class size. I love Elizabeth's classes! She brings a relaxed, calm presence to challenging classes.

I am so grateful to have found Ansley Watson’s Pilates studio. My body was wrecked from the ravages of 9 consecutive broken bones, a stressful job, and menopause. Because of my injuries and changing physiology, conventional workouts hurt me rather than helped me. I knew after the first session I found the exact kind of workout to help my body heal and regain my fitness. I took several private lessons then signed up for the 3x/week class package. I hate exercise, but now I look forward to every workout. After two weeks, I could feel the changes in my gait (more balanced and steady) and I felt taller. Several months later and I am starting to add interval running back into my routine. I’m sleeping better and my mood is improved, too. Ansley’s mantra is to practice gentleness and kindness toward yourself and your body; it’s such a nice departure from the more conventional amped up workouts that left me feeling stressed and which compounded my injuries. Pilates on the reformer/Cadillac machines facilitates dynamic movement, where you contract your muscles from a stretch, while getting both support and resistance from the gliding movements and tension of the springs. I can see and feel my body changing, toning, and strengthening. It is deeply relaxing. This class has also saved me money, as I no longer need to see my chiropractor, massage therapist, or acupuncturist. It’s accurate to say that Ansley’s classes have given me my life back. If you are thinking about trying Pilates, go to Joie de Vivre, it is a safe, supportive, and effective workout.

I’m so glad I found Joie de Vivre! I finished my second class and will definitely be buying a regular membership. I’ll keep this review short and sweet by saying Ansley is a great instructor, love that it’s a classic reformer style class and a wonderful overall experience. I highly recommend this studio!

Wonderful studio for the beginning Pilates student because of the small class size and friendly instructors who have been doing this for a long time!

I love this Pilates studio. The equipment is high-end with the reformer and Cadillac in one unit, and the instructors are excellent - very well trained and offering lots of personal attention. They are super nice too!

Love this small studio and how low impact the class is on my bad knee. I get sore (the good kind) after every class and feel much stronger than I did before I started. The teachers are great and so is the environment; cannot recommend enough.

My favorite pilates studio in town! Wonderful (and consistent) schedule with classes all throughout the day. 12 hour cancellation policy that accommodates last-minute changes in your schedule (instead of 24) is a big bonus too. Can't say enough good things!

I love this studio! Class size is small and the instructors are attentive to your needs. I enjoy the cardio sculpt (jump board) class a lot and highly recommend it for a more challenging workout. If you are looking for a great pilates studio, this is the place!

Terrific studio, with fabulous instructors! My husband has had chronic back and leg pain for years, and this is the first thing that has brought him lasting relief. He got me hooked, and it's been wonderful. Classes are small so the instructors can easily help you individualize your workout. Regardless your physical condition or level of experience with Pilates, you'll get a great workout.

I LOVE this place! It is unfortunate that I live too far away now, but wanted to at least make sure I give it the props it deserves. The staff at Joie de Vivre really cares about your well-being and the classes are taught in a very peaceful little studio in the Highlands. Beginner? Have no fear! They work with all types. :)

My fiancé & I have been attending classes here since June. Small classes (5 people max) with attentive teachers. I am really enjoying this method of exercise. I feel stronger, have less back and neck pain, my belly is tightening and flattening, and posture is improving. Give it a try - good 1st users discounts w Group On.

To be perfectly honest I don't want to give this Pilates studio a great review because it is so awesome and such a fantastic studio that I don't want to have to fight to get in to class!! I started coming to the studio because I was talking to my coworker about my shoulder and back issues and she suggested that I give Pilates a try. I asked her if she knew of a place to try and, since she was already coming here, she recommended that I give this place a try. From day one the instructors continue to facilitate helping me adapt the exercises to my body's weaknesses, altering the moves but still allowing me to get the exercise. I have been going steadily for almost a month now and can already see improvements in my posture, movement in my lower back, and strengthening in my shoulder. But this studio is terrible, that is my 4:30 pm spot, and that is my reformer!!!! :)

Working out at Joie de Vivre is a wonderful experience. After years of pain from working at a desk, a friend suggested Pilates and recommended Ansley Watson at Joie de Vivre. Ansley and her instructors have tailored my workouts to target my pain and improve my overall strength and flexibility. After the first month the pain in my hips and lower back was already getting better. Now, after six months, my overall fitness is greatly improved. I'm back to activities that had been off limits for years. As a 56 year old man, I didn't think I would fit in at a Pilates studio, but everyone at Joie de Vivre has gone out of their way to help me feel comfortable.

When I started with Ansley I was having severe back pain. I was not new to fitness but I was brand new to Pilates so I started out with private classes. It was not more than two or three classes and my back pain started to subside to where I could enjoy my normal routine. I have now started attending three days per week. My body needs this. As other reviewers have said, excellent atmosphere and small class sizes. When I first entered the studio, I felt right at home. I live very close so that is an added bonus. I highly recommend this studio and so thankful I found it!

I love this Pilates studio! Ansley Watson is an excellent and knowledgeable instructor. Her classes are fun, but also challenging for any level. I like the interval training approach she takes. After her classes, I always feel, not only like I got a great workout, but also stretched out and relaxed.

I love the classes here! Calm environment with only up to five people in each class and the instructors always individualize classes for you if you have an injury or want to work a certain area.
