Kutthaus Fitness seeks to provide a safe and supervised setting to conduct group and one-on-one training to improve an individual’s everyday living through physical conditioning, balance challenging, and efficiency through movement.
Now partnered with Kutthaus Neuro Inc., a non-profit, people living with chronic neurological conditions can feel comfortable in a place that allows for functional training under safe supervision.

I love Kutthaus! As someone who has struggled with severe back pain, joining Kutthaus was the best decision I’ve made. The adaptations they are always ready to make allowed me to work my way to strengthening my whole core and almost eliminating my low back issues. I push myself pretty hard on my own but Kutthaus programs/classes push me so much more than I could ever push myself and in areas I was not comfortable with before joining. The community is so supportive and I love seeing everyone else’s progress as much as my own.

I recommend this gym to everyone! It has all of the equipment and programming you need to improve functional strength and top-end cardio. What sets it apart, however, is the sense of community and personal attention. This place is a home for everyone from those lifting 400+ pounds to those resuming their fitness journey in their 70s and 80s, and the owners do a great job of adjusting workouts to account for injuries or limitations. Plus they're doing a bunch of great work in the greater Grand Junction community!

I have been going to Kutthaus for almost one year, and I cannot say enough good things about it. The small group class format of the workouts is one of my favorite aspects of the gym, and really fosters a sense of community. The workouts themselves are both challenging and varied, yet can be scaled to accommodate all skill levels. Whatever your fitness goals are, Kutthaus can help you achieve them. The owners, Liz and Sean, are wonderful people who truly want the best for all of their members, and it is clear that they are passionate about what they do and their commitment to cultivating a positive, motivating environment. My bestfriend got me to join Kutthaus in May of 2024 and the only thing I regret about joining is that I didn't do it sooner. The workouts are well thought out, challenging, and always something new so you never get bored. Liz and Sean are very knowledgeable on all things gym related and more importantly they're kind, generous, thoughtful people. The community they have created makes you want to show up to the gym push yourself harder than you thought you could. I also train for strongman competitions at Kutthaud, and the group of strong-willed, tough, determined, badass women I have met there have become friends I will have for life. SO. JOIN KUTTHAUS. i recently tried a class with a friend of mine that has been going for a year and has been raving about it since i met her. i had planned on only coming once a week but quickly realized how addicting the classes are thanks to the endorphin boost afterwards and the different types of workouts each class brings. i am always excited to attend and never dread it!
i enjoy biking and skiing and have been on the hunt for a workout style that would help me improve my skills. surprisingly, even running and training for an ultra run did not make me feel athletic enough to keep up with my friends on bike rides. i only wish i started coming to kutthaus sooner because i can already tell that i will be smoking all my friends on the skin up this ski season. i feel like i finally found the key to get the results i have been hoping for. thanks liz and sean for creating a gym that is so welcoming and life changing!

I have been going to this gym for a little over a year now and it has completely changed my life. I’ve always been active and gone to big gyms but working out still seemed like such a chore. When I started going to Kutthaus I felt my excitement for working out get sparked again. I couldn’t wait to get off work and go. After a colleague kept raving about Kutthaus Fitness I stopped in to try out a class and was hooked. The workouts are fantastic and the availability of classes fits into my hectic and variable work schedule. I'm as stoked by the mobility exercises in the warm-up as I am for the daily programing. The owners are invested in both their members and the GJ community and there's a great cohort of folks working out daily at the gym.

Sean and Liz have created a caring, inclusive health environment at Kutthaus Fitness, where everyone, of all fitness abilities is welcome. Classes are structured to push you physically, meeting you where you’re at, with an emphasis on injury prevention. Sean is always willing to modify moves to meet your ability level and special attention is paid to any existing injury or health condition you might have. Both Sean and Liz are accomplished anatomy masters with lots of tricks to help you improve both your workout and your quality of life (later chronic pain!) As if that wasn’t enough, they have also dedicated their lives to working with people affected by permanent neurological dysfunction. They have made it their mission to improve our lives as individuals and as a community. Being a part of this group is not only good for your heart, but also good for the soul.

If you are over 50 (or any age really) and are looking for a place to help with your strength, balance, core, endurance, and more, the 9:30 M/W/F Kutthaus group class is perfect!!! One of many things I love about this class is the wide array of "toys." On any given day we might use a blend of hand weights, slam balls, sticks, wall balls, stationary bikes, wooden boxes, wristbands, kettlebells, round plates, and more. (I had not seen most of these before this class.) Some days include pull ups, pushups, sit ups, and other activities (or at least we attempt these consistent with our abilities). The class is generally structured around a set of approximately 6 exercises. We do one for 30 seconds, rest 5 seconds, move to the next for 30, 5 rest, and so on. After a rest period, we repeat the entire set 5 times. Don't be intimated, because it isn't as bad as it sounds and better than you might expect. Everything is modified to our individual level. One person might do bicep curls with a 10 pound weight, another one of us a 5 pound, and even none for others. Moving quickly from one to the other sure is a lot more FUN and more useful for my needs at age 72 than 20 minutes on a treadmill. I end up laughing at myself when I can't do a superman kick and then feel proud that I can now hang from the pull up bar, even though I cannot yet complete the illusive pull up. We use no machines other than brief rowing or pedaling a bicycle as a warm up. Of course, we workout to a classic rock playlist. The others in the small class have been with Sean for years, which is a good sign, and are nice and supportive. We are only visiting Grand Junction so have only been in the area for 2 and 1/2 months and now are moving on. I have seen a big improvement in my abilities even in this short amount of time. This is not a Silver Sneakers type class that includes many exercises completed while sitting. If you want more than that but not a class that stresses competition and body building, Kuttaus is perfect.

I love Kutthaus! Even though it's not technically a CrossFit gym, many of the workouts are CrossFit style. After training CrossFit for many years, I'm really happy to find a gym that has similar values but is less focused on competition and perhaps more focused on wellbeing, functional movements, and longevity.

I was visiting home this last month and decided to go to check this gym out and absolutely loved it! This was my first time going to a CrossFit type gym & I felt very welcomed by all the members. What can I say .. this place is frkn fantastic. Iv been in a wheelchair chair since 2018 and had little movement or exercise from the waist down. With the help of Sean & Liz Iv regained movement the docs said I wouldn’t. Not only have I gained strength and movement, I’m actually pulling a football sled with weights on it. I highly recommend Kutthaus. A comfortable and Very professional atmosphere and that are highly trained in dealing with disabled individuals with limited movement. If your looking you regain movement and get strong in the process.. you should definitely check out this place .. it’s in the Mesa mall .. 🧑🏻🦼..J@¥

I was lucky enough to be in the market for a new gym years ago when Sean and Liz first took over the old Fit location on Patterson, before moving into the mall. The minute the programing was under Sean's creative control, things changed drastically. The workouts became fun, exciting and challenging. I realized I had found the gym that I could show up to, follow the programing for an hour a day and get real results. The knowledge that both Sean and Liz bring to the members is unprecedented. With the educational background that they both have, you can ask them nearly any question about the human body and how it moves and functions, and they have the answer(and believe me I have). They're able to scale nearly every workout to any member's abilities and still level. One of the most reaffirming things about working out at Kutthaus is not only seeing the improvements in myself, but in others too. With backgrounds in Physical Therapy, Kutthaus has many Adaptive Athletes that attend the gym. I work out with a couple of them every day at lunch. Over the last couple of years I've seen multiple members who, when starting at the gym needed a walker, a cane or another person's assistance just to get around, and through the programing they've designed are now walking, jogging and even doing unassisted lunges. I workout with Sean 5 days a week, 52 weeks of the year and am in the best shape of my life at the age of 42. I love this gym and the people I'm lucky enough to get to see each and every day there. They may not be family, but they sure make you feel like it when you're there. They care about their members and their community, so much so that they donate to local charities on behalf of the members just for doing burpees once a month. I will be a member of this gym family for as long as they'll have me. Thank you Sean and Liz, for everything. (That's Sean and I on the right at my wedding earlier this year)

I love Kuthouse Fitness! I am new to group workout classes and have only ever worked out on my own at home. I was a bit nervous to join the gym because I am so new to all the moves and equipment. I can confidently say that the team at Kuthouse has only ever reassured me and encouraged me to be and do my best. The energy is calming as well as hyped! Generally, I have a dismal opinion about gyms. The meatheads checking you out, insecurities of feeling like you shouldn't be there, not sure what or how to use the space to gain fitness. Kutthaus flips that opinion on its head. They're welcoming, everyone has a positive attitude, they empower you with a great workout without needing to know a lot to get you started, and there are bodies of all sizes and ages grunting it out with you. Stop feeling lost and come home to this gym.
On top of that, their adaptive athlete program for people with disabilities is outstanding. Liz's background as a Neuro PT makes her uniquely skilled at supporting people to gain fitness no matter what they are dealing with. Its also of equal benefit to caretakers in that position, because without this program I wouldn't take the time for myself to give my own body some love.

Sean and Liz run an incredible ship at Kutthaus. I use to think injury was part of high intensity workouts; but, after joining Sean and Liz’s gym, both of whom have backgrounds in physical therapy, you understand the difference of their workouts for the longevity of your body.
I’ve also not been part of a gym that feels like a community vs. a competitive environment. It truly is a wonderful place with owners who are wonderful people. Highly recommend joining!

I have been going to Kutthaus Fitness for several years and love it. I am 63 years old feel stronger than I ever thought I could be. I had a total knee replacement surgery in May and utilized the gym to do my my rehab therapy during open hours getting ready for the second one I had in July. I can honestly say that I never would have had a recovery on the first knee and doing well on second if it hadn’t been for this gym. They always encourage you to do the exercises in the but in my case, if I could not do it due to my restrictions, Sean would give me a modification that would not only keep me safe, but give me a great workout. He has created an atmosphere of support among the members and it makes for a fun, effective and safe workout. The Thursday morning Pilates class is also amazing! If you are looking for a gym, come give it a try. I give it 5 stars gladly!

We are so grateful that we found this gym when moving to Grand Junction. They were so welcoming from the first time. They have Group classes and open gym hours. The coaches are experienced and are able to improve your fitness level no matter where you are at.

I highly recommend Kutthaus. The workouts are group based and all the members are very welcoming. The coaches will provide guidance and encouraging feedback . They just added heart rate monitoring system, giving it a little bit of a Orange Theory feeling.

It's where I workout. Nice facility and great coaching. Organized workouts. Located inside Mesa Mall next to Boot Barn. Been a Kutthaus member for two years. Great prices for seniors and others. I'm 71, and although workouts can be 'tough', you are encouraged to alter and modify to meet your abilities. Coach Sean is always ready suggest alternative movements or adaptations. You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

When I started, I couldn’t even do one push-up, could only run 50 meters before feeling dizzy, and had no clue when it came to lifting weights. Even though I am in my fifties, Kutthaus Fitness, has taken my fitness, nutrition, and overall health to a whole new level. Having knowledgeable and fun coaches, as well as fun people to work out with, makes all the difference in the world and motivates me to consistently push myself to achieve new fitness goals. Everyday there is a carefully planned workout that is always different. Love this gym! Great workouts for all levels, lead by physical therapists with small class sizes so it's easy to get one on one coaching for modifications or to make sure your form is right. This gym is super clean and limited class sizes also allow for social distancing while working out. I have a job that requires lots of hiking in the summer and I joined because I was not doing a good job of maintaining my fitness in the winter. Over the past two years I've gotten to be in better shape than I imagined I could from joining a gym, I look forward to going and have found I am in better shape in my "off season" when I get to the gym more, than in the summers.

I have been a member since April 2019. If you are thinking about getting healthy and do not know how to begin, Kutthaus Fitness is the place to start. I lost 60lbs in 18 months and for the first time in my life, I can say I look forward to each and every workout! In the beginning, I was not capable of doing many of the exercises. At Kutthaus Fitness, the fitness coaches guided me through my workouts by modifying the exercises based off my limitations. Believe me, I had many limitations! As my strength has increased, the coaches continuously provide support during my workouts. In addition to having fabulous coaches, the Kutthaus members are fantastic and they become my workout family. Hands down, the best place to get healthy and be strong!
