The LAC has a variety of classes including aqua, boxing, yoga, and spinning but with limited number of classes in each. They offer an outdoor swimming pool that is open year round with great Instructors. It is heated, but the temperature is variable
It’s not fancy, it’s an old club. No towels, no hairdryers, shampoo or conditioner, so bring your own.

Taking private swim lessons with Kellyn at Longmont Athletic Club has been an absolute game changer! She is patient, encouraging, and incredibly knowledgeable. From the very first lesson, she made my kids feel comfortable and confident in the water. Her teaching style is clear, personalized, and fun — she knows exactly how to break skills down so they feel easy and achievable.
Whether you’re brand new to swimming or just looking to improve your technique, Kellyn tailors each session to your goals and pace. She’s professional yet warm, and her genuine passion for teaching shines through every moment. I can’t recommend her enough — if you want results, confidence, and a truly enjoyable learning experience, Kellyn is the one!

We love going to LAC! This is our first summer going to the club for swim lessons, and WOW! Kellyn is absolutely fantastic to work with! She is an excellent swim instructor and I feel so grateful that my kids have been able to do lessons with her! My kids look forward to seeing Kellyn every week :) she is very good with kids, and teaches the best fundamentals of swimming and also has fun with them!
In addition to her great swim instruction, she is a joy to work with in terms of communicating and working with us and our schedule!! Thank you Kellyn and LAC for providing us with such a great swim lesson experience this summer 🥰 we will be back!

I'm absolutely grateful for the amazing one-on-one swimming lessons at Longmont Athletic Club and so impressed with the coaching staff, especially Kellyn, for doing such a fantastic job teaching our son Eric! He's a challenging 13-year-old, but he listens to Coach Kellyn, which was a total game-changer! Definitely worth every penny, and we're now members – great facility and team! #SwimmingLessons #CoachKellyn #AthleticClub #Kids #Success

Private swim lessons for our daughter at the LAC were fantastic! She had a blast and greatly improved her swimming and confidence in the water in just a handful of lessons. Kellyn is a wonderful teacher and explains everything very clearly, while keeping it fun. She was also very flexible and we were able to meet exactly when it worked best for our schedule. Additionally, the staff at the LAC were always friendly and professional, greeting us every lesson. Highly recommended!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Outstanding Swim Instruction from Ms. Kellyn at Longmont Athletic Club!
We can’t say enough good things about Ms. Kellyn at the Longmont Athletic Club. She worked with our two grandchildren this summer, and in just one week, they made more progress than they did all last summer elsewhere!
What makes Ms. Kellyn so exceptional is her ability to connect with each child and adapt her teaching to their individual needs and confidence levels. One of our grandchildren was a bit hesitant in the water, while the other was ready to push boundaries—and she met both of them exactly where they were. Her calm, encouraging approach built trust quickly, and by the end of the week, both kids were swimming with confidence and joy.
Highly recommend Ms. Kellyn to anyone looking for a skilled, caring swim instructor who brings out the best in every child!

I’m a massive fan of this gym! I’ve been lifting weights for about five years, and the equipment selection here is easily one of the best I’ve come across. Whether you’re into powerlifting, bodybuilding, or general strength training, they have everything you need. I’ve trained at gyms all across the country, and I’ve never seen a setup quite like this one, it’s truly top-tier.

My kids have been taking private lessons at LAC for a couple years now at the beginning of each season. Kellyn is the best swim teacher we have ever had! In just a couple half hour lessons both my kids feel completely comfortable in the water and are swimming great! I am so grateful we discovered this gem.

There are a few things I do like about Longmont Athletic Club. It’s rarely crowded, which makes for a more relaxed experience. You also don’t get the typical influencer crowd—no one is filming themselves for social media, which is a nice change from many modern gyms. I also appreciate that the sauna gets really hot, which I enjoy.
That said, the negatives heavily outweigh the positives.
The facility is extremely outdated. The men’s locker room still has open showers, which feels wildly inappropriate for 2025. My wife tells me the women’s showers are private and individual, so it’s frustrating that the men’s side hasn’t been brought up to the same standard. On top of that, it just doesn’t feel clean. I’ve overheard staff saying that the owner refuses to bring in a professional cleaning crew, and instead relies on whoever is working to handle cleaning duties. That’s not acceptable—especially in locker rooms.
Worse yet, there’s a consistently weird vibe in the men’s locker room. I’ve seen older men casually standing completely naked in front of mirrors or slowly walking around the space as if they’re trying to air-dry. It’s not just the usual post-shower walk to your locker—it’s… bizarre. I’ve never seen this happen at any other gym I’ve belonged to.
The gym also seems severely understaffed. Most of the time there’s only one employee working, which feels like a safety concern. The machines are spread out, and if someone were to get hurt or need help, it’s unclear how quickly anyone could respond. Adding to that concern: unlike most modern gyms, there are very few visible security cameras throughout the facility. That also feels like a major red flag when it comes to member safety.
While I enjoy the heat of the sauna, I’ve also seen people staying in there far too long—pushing themselves to the point of looking dizzy and disoriented when they finally exit. It doesn’t seem like anyone is monitoring or setting guidelines for safe use.
The equipment and facility upkeep is lacking in general. Several machines are in need of maintenance. The floor mats in the boxing and heavy bag area are falling apart and look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. There are posted rules about proper footwear (no street shoes, only boxing shoes), but they’re completely ignored and never enforced.
And if you’re hoping to play basketball, be prepared to be disappointed. The court is almost always reserved for volleyball leagues or indoor pickleball. I’ve come in multiple Sundays hoping to shoot around, only to find an adult league playing—despite not being listed on the posted court schedule. It makes it impossible to plan ahead or know when the court will actually be available.
My wife and I originally chose this gym because it’s within walking distance from our home. But when our six-month contract ends, we’ll be more than happy to make the 10-minute drive to the Longmont Rec Center instead. At this point, convenience isn’t enough to make up for how much this place falls short.

Great gym to work out at. I’ve been going here for 4 years and keep going back. The different rooms that they have can make it feel like you’re the only one there sometimes which is nice. Fair pricing and the 12 day pass is only $20 and is great if you’re a student or want to try it out. Great gym, would definitely recommend.

I love old school gyms and this one is perfect for me. Everyone there works out seriously and knows what they are doing, which is very motivating. The pool is open year rounds and it's perfect since we have so many beautiful days in CO throughout the year. The sauna in the locker room is great, I use it regularly! The staff is great, and welcoming. If you are looking for a place to seriously work out, this is it!

We started my 4 year old daughter here with swim lessons with Kellyn just about a month ago. Kellyn is wonderful, patient teacher and really know how to read a child and start them where they need to start and them keep them moving forward. My daughter is now so excited about swimming that she "practices' in the bathtub nightly and can't wait for her next lesson. I highly recommend private swim lessons with Kellyn!!

We recently enrolled our children in private swim lessons with Kellyn at the Longmont Athletic Club, and it's been an absolute game-changer! We have one child who dives headfirst into any adventure, and another who approaches new situations with a bit more caution. Kellyn managed to create a perfect balance for both of them.
Our fearless child thrived on the challenges and encouragement, while Kellyn patiently nurtured our more cautious child's confidence. The lessons were full of fun and engaging activities, and we saw a remarkable transformation in both their skills and comfort level in the water.
Kellyn is a fantastic instructor - knowledgeable, positive, and incredibly patient. She created a safe and supportive environment where both our children could learn and grow at their own pace. We can't recommend Kellyn and the Longmont Athletic Club highly enough!

This gym has a lot to offer. It is older, and the machines and weights are older, but they still work. The steam room is out of order for men & women’s. They do have yoga classes for free with members which is really neat. I bought the 12 day pass to test this gym out. So far it’s great, just feels a little old and dirty on some machines and rooms. I do love the amount of things this gym offers, the only thing that would be cool to add, is a tanning bed or red light therapy. They require a six month membership which runs out $84, not bad at all. Also, my favorite machine is the stair stepper, and I did not find that in this gym );

Great gym. I was a member here for nearly 3 years until I had to move back to Denver. I am missing it already. I highly recommend this gym for anyone doing weight training in Longmont.
This gym is great for weight training, but has lots of other options. It was never too crowded and everyone was friendly.
Only complaint is that steam room never worked when I was a member, but the rest of the experience more than made up for it. Looks like they were starting to do something with the steam room the last week I was going there though, so hopefully that's headed in the right direction.

Got a one day pass to tour the facility and it's nothing to get excited about. The equipment is really close together, feels crowded and is not in the best of shape. Half the facility is not able to be used because they allow people to rent out the gym and tennis courts whenever they please. I'm sure during the day you can probably find time to get in there, but people who work can't use it after they get off. Expensive to not have certain parts of the gym at your disposal.

Planet fitness didn't have dumbells big enough for me, Golds was a swarm of youngsters, and LAC was the 3rd place I visited. It may not be for everyone, but it's iron paradise for me! This place makes you sign a waver every time you come because for some reason you can’t sign one and have it last a year or something? And you must be 18 or older to sign it. If not 18 or older you have to have one of your parents come with you to sign it every time. The inside pool has been closed for over a year now and hasn’t made any progress, the outside pool always has bugs and other stuff in it. This club is the worst in Longmont. Not only is the facility and equipment very old and rundown, but their prices are outrageous. You can pay much less at any other facility in Longmont. They don't run their A/C in the summer, it is extremely hot in every room. Their indoor pool is the only part that is decent and it is unavailable for use, because they refuse to fix their roof. Their outdoor pool is rundown and the hot tub is an above ground one that you could buy and have at your home. But the absolute worst part is their customer service!! I have never been treated worse anywhere else! They lied to me about their indoor pool being open to get me to sign another membership contract, then when I complained about it not being open and the lack of a/c, they canceled my membership and kept my money. Which we are going after them for now with the assistance of an attorney! Do not go to this facility, they will screw you over in every way possible!!! The YMCA and the Longmont Rec Center are MUCH better options.

I love this place. They have everything a bodybuilder and powerlifter could ever need. I don't care if the equipment is aged or the Olympic plates are all mismatched. It is old school and awesome. I do not go there to admire the equipment or paint on the walls. I do not go there to socialize.
I go there to work.
My only ask is that there be a declining flat bench to use on the smith machines. I lift alone, and I'd prefer to do decline presses on the smith machine for safety.

This place has a neglected feel to it. It was a nice place in the 90s. It is exactly the same now, no real updates and neglected. It is more like a rundown rec center versus an "Athletic Club". The indoor pool is closed for who knows how long, not sure why guessing because the ceiling above it was completely rusted out. Like everything else, the equipment to run it is likely just old and neglected. There are some nice people that work here though.

Did a trial at this gym and others. It was very run down: broken lockers, stained floors, dirty floor fans for air circulation, and outdated rusty elipticals (which is odd because rust isn't common in Colorado's dry climate). I wanted to like it because they have a pool, steam room, and sauna but it was too run down and double the price of other places in town.

There is so much not right about the club that it is hard to know where to start. I have been a member here for many years and have watched it get more and more run down. They were the only gym in Longmont with a fairly warm indoor pool but they got rid of it. Now they want you to use the"heated" outdoor pool year round! The outdoor pool is dirty and far from heated! The rest of the facility is run down and dirty as well. I have decided to cancel my membership and try to find somewhere else to work out and swim.

I like the Longmont Athletic Club, it's not easy to see from the street. It's a smaller club but has indoor tennis courts, racquet ball, weight room, a kid's zone. It's nice

A tennis membership is only good if you want to go to drills and skills, or use a ball machine. Don't join unless you have your own group of people that you already play with.

I have been a long time member of this gym until recently. After LAC west closed I stopped going to this gym. There are too many people who do things listen to their music loudly with no headphones and the hours on weekends are very inconvinient. They will also keep charging you after your contract ends. very unfriendly staff and the membership policy is designed to keep them in business and not to help you. no online membership support. you can not cancel your membership over the phone.
