We had a very positive experience with semi private swim lessons for my 2 kids. The Y was extremely accommodating to my schedule, which was limited to a specific day / small window of time. The lessons were great and both children advanced in their skills. Iβm happy that we chose this over the Longmont Rec Center group classes that we had done in the past. I would sign them up again; the cost was reasonable for the 1-on-1 attention that they got.

We visited this Y for our second time while in town to visit our daughter. Nice facility but it seems to be mostly deserted during the day, not sure why. Went to play pickleball in the gym and only 3 of us showed up - they need to promote it better because the outdoor courts in the Hogan Acres Park are usually filled up. Their workout equipment is OK but no sleds or battle ropes. Very nice large indoor pool. We went ahead and joined it for free since we have Renew Active through our Medicare plan. The staff seemed helpful and friendly enough.
Update in July 2025: Played pickleball there on a Saturday and we had 4 courts going. Had a great time.

I have been using the facilities of the Longmont YMCA since I left the hospital almost 4 years ago. It's not just the facilities but the staff as well as the social interactions I have had with others who find value in keeping themselves physically healthy that has made the 'Y' a valuable resource not just for me but for others. The 'Y' is interconnected to other community functions drawing people in from many ways of life in the search for wellness, new interests, or making new friends. The 'Y' has the best ways, I have found, for making it a win-win experience to build a very healthy, personal, fun loving & growth oriented life in the Longmont community. Thank you, Lucy, Jennifer, Jeremy, Tammy, Javier & others who really listen to what I am asking for. Ariel Laman

My daughter loves summer camp at the y. Great variety of activities provided for the kids and they keep her later than most summer camps so I'm able to pick her up after work (5-5:30pm). Counselors are very nice and personable. Highly recommend and she will be attending next year also!

The class size is small, so the teacher can focus on each child individually without too much time lapsing between, so the children donβt lose focus while waiting for their turn. The teachers are well trained, are friendly and work well with kids!

What a fine facility this is. I have visited the Longmont and Erie rec centers, and this Y is far superior in most ways. It is bright, airy, with welcoming staff and excellent workout equipment. I haven't tried the pool yet, but the gym looks great through the windows, and there are squash/racquetball courts that people were enjoying today. Also, today there was a big class of older people just leaving when I arrived, looking happy. Fine facility!

I agree with another reviewer- horrible summer camp! Last year, (2023) my 6-year-old granddaughter attended very briefly. We took her out after learning about an employee who went by Miss Liz who told her, when she was lying on her mat at nap time crying quietly because she missed her mom, β Stop crying! You better stop crying or else!β Iβd like to give that woman βor elseβ if I ever see her. How dare this monster speak to a child in distress like that? My granddaughter is a gentle, small-for-her-age child who causes no trouble. This woman, who has NO business working with kids, also yanked an applesauce my granddaughter was eating at lunch away from her before she was finished and berated her for not finishing β fast enough.β Shame on this organization for hiring people like this to supervise kids!

A lifelong everyday fitness nut, i joined the Longmont Y about six months ago for its convenience following a move across town. I use the free weights, machines, cardio, spin bike, locker / shower. Love going there. It feels like a strong community and i enjoy knowing other regulars. the Staff is friendly and helpful. Wish they were open a little later on weekends, hot water was a bit more consistent and they updated / added some equipment but overall highly recommend. Thanks to the Staff for their dedication.

I have been going to the YMCA for the past six months. I went in today and found out that they were increasing the guest feet 300%. Absolutely outrageous. So, I guess the majority of guests that are able to use the Y will be silver sneakers customers. Very very sad for the community in which it serves. Many of our locals cannot afford that kind of an increase. Shame on you YMCA.

If i could give them 0 stars i would,Worst neighbors ever, constant noise after hours and before opening, employees blasting music in cars before opening, I have tried to ask them to follow longmont noise ordinances, however, each time they act like they don't know what anyone is talking about, or say nothing can be done!
Don't support this dishonest "nonprofit".

What are you goals? Mine is to find a swimming pool close to home where I can go after work.
My other option was to go to the Centennial Swimming Pool (Longmont rec center) 2 blocks away. I picked the YMCA because it stays open later (07:45 pm vs 03:00 pm). They are both clean and pretty calm.
The last option is the main Rec Center building by Ken Pratt in the south side of the City. This facility is further away, the pool is smaller and it is pretty loud because of the kids having fun (however, you get a hamam which is pretty nice). The Rec center is cheaper than the YMCA (couple: $74 vs $91, $204 after one year).
On top of that, you have everything on site: dance, Yoga, Fitness, gym, and even a boxing studio. There is also a garden and they sell produce once a week for a very affordable price.
The staff is nice and knowledgeable. However regarding specific questions I would recommend you to ask different staff members, some of them are new and might not know everything.
CONCLUSION
If you like swimming then this is a bargain since you have access to a pool almost empty most of the time.

If the staff here has an issue. They will make your life so hard you have to move your children. The staff are some of the unprofessional staff I have ever seen. Cancelling my children be cause they all of a sudden donβt have approval from Ccap. I called Ccap and it was all lies. I watched these people target my children because I filed a grievance.

My partner and I stayed in Longmont for a week while working a nearby festival. The staff at the Ed & Ruth Lehman YMCA was FABULOUS. My partner is a member, but I am not. They made the process easy for me to pay as a guest and check in so we could quickly get started on our workouts. They remembered us and greeted us kindly every day of our trip.
I loved using the cardio and weight rooms. My partner used the pool every day and was able to get a lane and start laps very quickly. We'll be back the next time we're in Longmont!

Horrible place. They have a nice swimming pool, which is why I chose to join the Y. But, It is only available for lap swimming from 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm. That's only 45 minutes. How does that make any sense to the folks running the Y? Joining this Y was a waste of money.

If I could put zero stars I would. Horrible place to send your children for summer camp. Supervisors are clearly not doing their job of making sure staff are carrying out appropriate protocol for different situations. Although the incident happened a week or so ago I felt the need to reach out to a higher up person above the staff there, I believe it was Asher Fast and I received zero answers and it felt like he had no idea what summer camp even was, not sure how he is the βbossβ. It was nothing major to go up any higher, but it was still extremely unprofessional.

This Y has improved recently. They've added new equipment and changed the layout. The customer service has improved as well. They added a coffee bar and and added a Little Free Library. I wish the class selection was better. I miss the kickboxing class with Meriam and wish they had fun classes that are accessible to all levels.

Not a fan of this place was told about it from another parent for child care and summer programs. I was even told because my child gets free lunch I could get a discount of 50% off the 250 weekly price.... well turns out itβs not the case I was told
Because my income amount is to close to my expenses amount I donβt qualify for a discount. Highly disappointed.

I signed my son up for a soccer program in September. The YMCA cancelled the league due to not having enough players. For two whole weeks I was trying to get in touch with the coordinator of the program because I did not know this. Once I finally got in touch with them they had told me I would receive a refund. It is now doe end of November and I have not received anything back. They stopped contacting me and I have wrote numerous emails wondering what is going on. So unorganized. And they stole my money, $150 of my money they stole. Do not take your kids here!

Great pool for doing water aerobics by myself. I suffer from both fibromyalgia and PTSD with social anxiety. The pool is generally very quiet and with the additional help of waterproof mp3 player (listening to audio books) I am able to block out enough to get some exercise without too much anxiety.

Terrible customer service. I called and one of the employees told me they would offer my 2 young boys and I free membership since my husband is military and is deployed. I went in to get a membership only to be told by another employee at the front desk that they don't offer that. All employees should have the same training!! We won't be getting our membership here

Do not join or contribute to this place. The equipment is old and shoddy. Further, they make it difficult to cancel. I called in, asked them to cancel my membership and was told my membership was cancelled. Three months later, the idiots sent me a bill for several months. When I told them I had cancelled, they stated that to cancel I needed to go in, sign a paper, etc. Because I had not done that, they said I owed them for several months of membership and if I did not pay they would send me to collections. I paid because it was too much of a pain to waste my time with the idiots. I provide this opinion to warn others away from this crap hole. Ciao.

Wonderful! I love what the Y stands for: healthy mind, body and spirit! It's a great place for kids! My oldest daughter went to many summer camps when she was young and she said by far the Y is the best! Now my youngest is in the program and loves it too! Thank you Longmont YMCA for providing a great environment to nurture growing minds!

After moving to town I looked into literally every gym in Longmont. For the price and what you get, the Longmont YMCA is by far the best choice. They even offer a scholarship program to reduce your membership rate based on your income which helped me out majorly. The group fitness instructors are awesome and really give you a kick butt workout. They also offer so many great programs and events for kids.
