When the original owners had their hands more in the process, this place was a palace of hard work. As they became more distanced (which happens as companies grow) you could see that this place was losing its mountain-first mentality and became a circus driven by ego (by one specific coach in particular).
It seems that this place is headed back to its original state of focus - training hard and intensely so one can defeat their mountain sport goals. Bummed I'm not back in CO to be here anymore, but stoked that it will regain the status of being an Iron Temple where only the hardest are forged, focused on the mettle of the mountain.

I am 40 and life of sitting behind a desk and owning business's had caught up with me. I was 40 pounds over weight and had not done any kind of exercising for 15 years. I was very intimidated by the thought of going to a gym, let along a crossfit gym. I had heard how intense work outs could be. After about a year of walking by this place everyday I finally built up the courage to go inside. I spoke with the owner on the phone and had a consult with him about where I was at currently and where I wanted to be. He told me if I gave him a year it would change my life. I am right at 6 months now, I have lost 25 pounds and am learning all kinds of new weight lifting and cardio workouts. At first it was very challenging and everyone from coaches to other members were very supportive and took the time to coach me 1 on 1 and build me into the weight lifting movements and provided support while I built my cardio game.. It has impacted my life in so many positive ways, all of which I will not list, but the personal attention and amazing community of other members has provided me with a life balance like none I have ever experienced before. If you are already a gym beast or a fresh starter on your fitness journey, you can find a place here. I can't say enough how much this has already changed my life, and I am looking forward to continuing my fitness journey here. Thank you Mountain Strong!

The community that Mountain Strong has been able to cultivate is wonderful. With many conditioning gyms, it sometimes can feel intimidating but not here. The coaches and owners make you feel part of their family. The members are open, friendly, and the best part, encouraging. The environment here allows your training to feel fun, that's the sweet spot in my opinion. Moving to Colorado and now been here for 2 years, 90% of my friends are from here. The gym always has phenomenal clinics to work on all types of things. From breathing, to climbing knots, to getting your rowing form perfect. They're always getting the community together for fun workouts followed by a relaxing BBQ after. I can write on and one but this place is truly magical. I am so grateful for the connections and life long friends that I have made. This has everything to do with the coaches and owners who have dedicated themselves to creating a place where your health and training can be a happy adventure. Don't get it twisted, they bring it and you will get your pump on but in a fun way.

I can only review this place based on their climbing boot camp, but so far I highly recommend it. It says something when you can barely walk or raise your arms the next day after a workout. I like the climbing specific training instead of just general crossfit. The staff I have worked with so far has been motivating without yelling at you. I appreciate the extra focus on form to ensure nobody gets hurt. If you're trying to get up a grade, or 2!! Give them a try next boot camp.

Best gym Iβve ever joined. The coaches and community make the difference. From a coaching perspective, technique and safety come before performance. The coaches care more that you donβt get hurt than any other nonsense. The community, while friendly, pushes you to do your best. Iβve seen more gains in the last year than from any other competitive workout program.

The is the best gym I have ever been a member of. The coaches and other members are very supportive, encouraging, and helpful. I first started attending the gym as part of their seasonal Ski Conditioning class. When I began working out, an empty barbell was my workout weight, which made it intimidating to watch serious athletes workout around you. However, nobody judges or cares how much you can lift. Everyone is just happy to see people show up and work hard. I can highly recommend Mountain Strong!

I hadn't worked out in a traditional gym setting since college, and was super nervous to come back to lifting after 5 years away from it. The coaches were welcoming, met me at my skill level, and gave supportive and constructive feedback. Over the past year, my confidence has grown and I feel the strongest I ever felt!!

I have been going to Mountain Strong since December and have enjoyed the challenge of the classes and the feeling of community that the gym offers. I really appreciate the knowledge and professionalism of the staff, and although I am newer to lifting, they have been patient and provided excellent feedback. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a gym that is just as passionate about fitness, health, and the outdoors!

I requested prices online and never received them. Instead, I recieved an invitation to workout. I emailed the website and requested to be removed and requested no response. Instead I was sent this...
Inviting you in for a free session is too much salesmanship? Iβd guess you wouldnβt fit with our training anyways. Most people donβt want to actually get deep into working hard and being the best version of themselves.
Sorry to disappoint you, Iβve got you removed from any future correspondence.

Mountainstrong is a great place to get inspired by its members and worked by the coaches. The coaches are very passionate and driven and thoughtful in approaching their workouts. It's a bit out of my neighborhood, so I don't go often, but I'm pumped every time that I do. Also, Lin Hill (Synergistic Movement) does recovery work out of Mountainstrong gym. She has been fixing me for years through the Denver Sports Recovery Center and I can't say enough good things about her work. Mountainstrong is really a great community fixture.

I started with Mountain Strong 3 months ago. As an ultramarathoner, I was looking to increase my muscular endurance and overall strength. Mountain Strong has provided the catalyst to take my workouts to the next level. Probably my favorite gym in Denver, and I really like picking stuff up and putting it down.
They crossfit, powerlift, and teach climbing. The coaches are all certified and very knowledgable. There is a heavy emphasis on functional and safe movement, and I know as an experienced athlete that if you are injured you probably aren't competing, or competing at your very best. Active recovery is emphasized here; something very important if you are active every single day.
I would call it a true athlete's gym but the coaches and programs make it accessible to everyone. I recommend it to my friends as well as anyone else.

This place has been the foundation for any active endeavor I have pursued in Colorado. Whether it is climbing, riding bikes, and going long in terms of distance, it all starts here.. prior to finding this place, I struggled with low back and knee pain. The coaching is mindful of making sure your movements are accurate and correct to avoid injury, allowing you to break bad habits and build up correctly. The best part is that they incorporate movements more than just the boiler plate programming from crossfit. I highly recommend this place.

When I was invited by a friend of a friend to check out this part climbing, part CrossFit gym, I was skeptical. Having been intimidated from the larger climbing gyms and been injured from a previous CrossFit incident, I was mainly cautious.
The open and encouraging mentality not only from the coaches but also the community made it very comfortable to start.
Five months later, I have developed in both strength and endurance, bringing the fitness to my running, biking, hiking etc.
Keep up the great work Mountain Strong π

Prior to joining Mountain Strong, I had been going to a traditional gym for fitness and a typical climbing gym for climbing. Both gyms were passable. However, my fitness levels and climbing grades had plateaued.
Then, I found Mountain Strong. The programing at this place is top-notch both from a Crossfit and climbing training standpoint. I've been going to classes regularly for over a year and I have consistently been getting stronger, fitter, and climbing harder. I always feel challenged and have yet to hit a plateau.
In addition to the strength and fitness benefits, Mountain Strong classes are fun and feel more like skiing or climbing with friends than working out. The coaches are outstanding and the other members are supportive and want everyone to succeed both in and out of the gym. I highly recommend Mountain Strong whether youβre a serious athlete looking to be pushed in new ways, a couch potato hoping to get in shape, or anywhere in between.

If you're looking to improve as a mountain athlete, this is the place to go. Knowledgeable coaches that take creative programming to a whole new level. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone that knows how to make you stronger and more confident in the hills. Plus it's a crazy fun group of people that don't take themselves overly serious. Being outside is supposed to be fun and so is the training for it. Sure there's plenty of misery to go around during the workouts, but that's part of the fun.

I got a Groupon for this place with a month left in Denver before moving. Awesome idea! All Crossfit gyms are different and what I like might not be what you like. This gym has a laid back "no pressure" feel while also kicking your ass! The folks that I met in my classes (mostly the 11 am class) were awesome guys and girls who were encouraging and funny. Will, Anne and Matt, the owners and coaches are passionate about what they do. All three are accomplished athletes, climbers and competitors! They listened to what I hoped to get out of my month and helped me achieve it. I never felt pressured and they do a great job tweaking workouts for each persons specific needs. Their climbing centered (Kraft) classes are an awesome work out as well. Fun to get on the wall and work on things you might not work on otherwise.
I could not recommend this place any more!! I only wish I had discovered it sooner.

Mountain Strong is an awesome gym! The CrossFit is great for a workout, and the bouldering wall is great to work on climbing skills. The unique climbing oriented "Kraft" workout classes are a great way to improve climbing strength and endurance.
The owners/trainers are fantastic and really know their stuff, (plus they're incredible athletes in case you need someone to compete against in the workouts).
The community is also really great, we're always meeting new cool people every time we go.
