I visited Mountain Edge Fitness while staying in Boulder, Colorado, and it instantly became one of my favorite lifting gyms. The place is incredibly clean, well-organized, and has every piece of equipment you could possibly need for a solid workoutβwhether youβre focusing on strength, conditioning, or just getting a good pump in.
What really sold me, though, was the huge American flag hanging on the wall. As a Marine veteran, that kind of pride hits home and adds to the atmosphere in a powerful way. The gym has a welcoming vibe, plenty of space, and never felt overcrowded.
If youβre visiting Boulder and need a dependable spot to train, Mountain Edge Fitness is absolutely worth checking out. Great energy, great equipment, and a great place to get after it.

I recently had to move out of town and I gotta say, leaving this gym behind mightβve been one of the harder things to let go of. I loved the quiet atmosphere and the privacy. For anyone that feels gym-shy, or wants to be apart of a little gym community, this is the gym for you!! It has all the equipment you need and even a cute little corgi to distract you sometimes. This gym is one of boulders best kept secrets

I am a longtime member of Mountains Edge Fitness. The staff is highly knowledgeable and friendly. I have done strength training consistently for over 4 years and I am noticeably stronger. Their rates have always been reasonable and the workout environment is suitable for everyone. I recommend that you check out this gem of a gym!

The MEF tagline, "where you belong" couldn't be more true. It's a very nice gym, run by very nice people, alongside an incredible corgi mascot, Colin. No pretention, no jugement; it's just a great place to work out, which is getting harder and harder to find in Boulder these days. While the original location was quirky and fun, the new spot is even better - spacious, still tons of equipment, and rarely, if ever, do you have to wait for a machine. Easy to get in and out to squeeze in that gym day! Thanks, Shannon, to you and your team for making Mountains' Edge such a great place to be!

My girlfriend and I were visiting for the holidays and needed a reliable place to train in 2021. The people were all friendly at this quirky disco-library gym. The strength equipment selection was solid (I was even pleasantly surprised to find a proper hacksquat.) It has plenty of space and was never crowded while we were there. Thank you to Tim who was helpful in accommodating us with a short-term stay offer!

Just cruised through Boulder on our van trip and weβre looking for a gym to work out at! Tim was extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home! The equipment is extensive and there was tons of floor space for stretching! Would recommend stopping by if youβre looking for a spot π

I started coming to Mountains Edge fitness instead of my gym in Denver to wait out the traffic before commuting home. The gym has all of the machines that you could need, and far more than my Denver gym. All of the other customers are polite; I never have the issues with machines and sharing like I have at other gyms. Moreover, the staff is absolutely wonderful, welcoming, and enthusiastic. I cannot recommend Mountains Edge Fitness enough!

Tim made us feel right at home. I called at about 8:30AM and said we were from out of town, looking to get a day pass. We showed up at 10:30 and were greeted at the door by Tim as he says βYOU MADE IT!β He gave us the tour and let us get to work. This gym is in the bottom of a hotel, and the most unique thing youβve ever seen. Itβs complete with everything you need. Affordable rates and unparalleled customer service. Thanks Tim!

I stopped at this gym when I was in boulder overnight. First time in the city. Gym has a funky vibe (itβs in what appears to be an old bar and restaurant attached to a hotel) which was interesting. Tim at the front desk was so kind and helpful. The gym had everything I needed to do a full body strength training day. Will definitely go back again the next time Iβm in boulder.

It is nothing fancy as a gym, but it is really cheap and it has the necessities for getting a workout. That said, I'd recommend it almost exclusively for the fact it gives you access to a taekwondo class run by a phenomenal instructor and an amazing community. My husband and I signed up for the membership so we could join the TKD sessions and it was worth every penny. Normally tkd instructors charge for the honor of joining their classes. The man who runs these classes does it entirely for free and he is incredibly passionate about it. It has been a great honor to know him.

Fantastic gym!
At Mountain Edge it is a lot about the culture and welcoming atmosphere that you can really feel each and every time you visit. A local business with facilities connected to a hotel make this gym going experience quite the unique one, while skeptical at first you will find in good time that Mountain Edge has all of the equipment and trinkets you desire to develop the perfect workout program. With a wide variety of classes and personal trainers at your disposable for a reasonable price, Mountain Edge is going to be one of you best options as an avid fitness enthusiast in Boulder. Come on in :)

This gym is great when it comes to availability and space. It's never crowded, and I barely have to wait for equipment at all. It's a very low key workout, in a good way. They also have a good number of fitness trainers if that's your sort of thing. Staff is very friendly and it's honestly an excellent value compared to other options in the area. My only gripe is that some of the cardio equipment is a little dated. The weight stuff is too, but let's be honest iron is iron so no big deal there. Definitely come check it out.

This gym is great! The front desk staff is always friendly and welcoming. They offer a variety of classes led by top notch, experienced instructors who know how to lead a class for all fitness levels. I get a great workout every time I come. The weights / cardio area is never crowded. This gym is not a fancy, corporate owned club, but locally owned and operated. It has all you need for a good workout, without breaking your bank account!

This gym is fantastic! I started going to Shannon's spinning class with a friend almost two years ago. Then I started personal training with Shannon and I was hooked! The space is a little quirky but that's part of its charm. There's never a wait for weight machines or cardio equipment, the classes are fun and different every time you go, and the staff and customers are incredibly friendly. What's not to like?

Agree with Felix, this Gym was great and the people who run it are so incredibly kind, dedicated and awesome. The Gym has what you need to get a good work out in, stay healthy and feel comfortable doing so. I've been in all kinds or Giant Chain gyms and this place was one that I enjoyed going to the most. The staff are awesome, the clientele range in ages and everyone is welcome. They even have a little library section that you can swap and take books to read at home. The Personal Trainers are incredible and they offer a range of classes. If I ever lived in Boulder again, I would be a lifetime member!

This is a humble gym that does not boast nor brag. If you are looking for a country club, this place is not for you. If you are looking for a place where you can work out and feel welcome, without waiting for machines, without feeling intimidated by anyone, and for an unbeatable price, look no further. They are currently having a 3 months for $99 promotion, which is a steal. If you live even remotely in the area, this place is worth checking out. It has won my heart, and the heart of many in Boulder as well.

Fantastic fitness club. The classes are FUN and a terrific workout (and work-in!). The instructors are incredibly qualified and knowledgable -- cycling, kundalini yoga, essentrics, pilates, yoga, weights, balls, foam rollers, zumba, and yes, BumpNGrind. My husband and I have been members of Mountains' Edge Fitness for many years, especially like their classes which really motivate me to keep working out. Sometimes I visit the club 4-5 times in a week. Mountains Edge relocated to the Broker Inn this past fall and I enjoy coming to the new location, a cleverly designed retro look.
The location feels spacious and the upstairs fitness classroom is ideal. The Broker's kitchen down the hall is used occasionally for catering and baking, sometimes we're working out to the warm smell of cinnamon. There are a huge variety of classes for all levels of ability and interests--cardio, sports fitness, interval training, weights, yoga, balance, stretching etc. The instructors are top notch, enthusiastic, take care that you exercise properly and encourage you to push yourself just a bit more. Thank you for keeping me in shape.
The front desk crew are super! Friendly, welcoming and it puts a smile on my face to walk in the door to a friendly greeting and the daily trivia question. Bottomline--this club is more than just the facilities, it's also the people who use it and the people who manage it, that make coming to work out a highlight of our day. Love you guys!

MEF is the "Cheers" of Boulder. When you walk into the place, the staff has a friendly greeting, trivia question for the day, helpful information on use of equipment or on the classes that are offered upstairs. Also, there is a place to sit and talk to friends and staff that is comfortable and inviting. I absolutely LOVE MEF.

Be warned!! Mountain's Edge has moved from its old location in the Table Mesa Shopping Center to the disgusting, dirty, run down Broker Inn. It now is set up where the restaurant and bar used to be: filthy carpet, holes in drywall, dirt/dust everywhere and the smell of old fish (I assume from back when the Broker was cool and famous for its shrimp cocktail). The equipment is extremely old and the membership is no bargain for what you get. Look elsewhere for your fitness needs if cleanliness and equipment mean anything to you.

I love Mountains' Edge Fitness! Coming from someone who used to hate going to the gym, I can truly say that this gym has changed my perspective on working out. Not only does this gym have friendly and knowledgeable staff always available to help, but the equipment is always kept nice and clean. I never had to wait in line to use the equipment which is definitely a plus for me!
I also love the variety of classes that are currently offered. They are made to suit all gym members of all ages and skill level. This was a perfect fit for me because I immediately felt welcomed in many of the classes I had never tried before (ie Cycling).
One of the most important aspects I loved about this gym was feeling welcomed. It motivated me to want to come back and truly is "where I belong."
I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone!

I loved Mountain's Edge. I recently moved away for business but while i lived in Boulder i had a great experience here. I'm kind of a geek and when i first joined I pretty much knew nothing about fitness or gym culture. Everyone i met there was kind, helpful and non-judgmental and it was a very encouraging environment. The trainers there are great too. I think anyone from an avid gym patron to someone who's never been on an elliptical would enjoy working out here. Thanks for taking the 'edge' off getting healthy guys!

In a town full of expensive and flashy fitness options, Mountain's Edge offers a low-key and comfortable alternative. I am able to focus completely on my own workout without feeling pressured, crowded, or self-concious (as I have in other gyms). MEF offers a quiet atmosphere (I never have to wait for the equipment I want), but they also cultivate a sense of welcoming community. There is a strong sense of rapport between the members and staff, as the workout area is often peppered by friendly conversation and words of encouragement. The sing-along spinning classes are a unique and fun way to work out, and the club is consistently working to further enhance the facilities and offerings. A great no-fuss option for Boulderites.

I love working out at Mountain's Edge Fitness Center! I've been a member for over 12 years and would not switch to a different gym. It has all the equipment you need in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The trainers are knowledgeable and skilled. I've tried many of the classes and they are so fun. Mountain's Edge has been an amazing gym to call home for the last year! All the staff are friendly and supportive. The array of classes make finding a workout routine that fits your schedule very doable and they're all a lot of fun.

Wonderful, local gym in south boulder!
I love their wide variety of (small, not over-filled) group classes, especially cycling and athletic intervals. Staff is always friendly and accommodating and every group instructor I have ever had has been encouraging and energetic.
I rarely have to wait for any equipment and it is always kept in good, clean condition. Nothing but positive experiences at this gym and shockingly it's affordable as well!
Keep up the good work!

If you live in the south Boulder area, joining this gym is a no brain-er. A great size considering the traffic flow throughout the day. I usually worked out after I got off work around 5pm, and still never had to wait to use equipment (cardio/free-weights/machines). Also, I noticed that few people took advantage of the Mountains' Edge partnership with the Millenium Hotel pool and sauna. I would have kept my membership but moved down to Denver.

I love taking Jen's pilates class on Monday mornings to do some great stretching and core strengthening. Jen's teaching style focuses on each individual listening to what their body needs that day, not on everyone performing a certain number of reps in sync with each other. She provides a variety of ways to perform each exercise in case anyone has bad knees, wrists, etc. so that everyone gets the most out of the class. Jen also shows different ways to make each exercise harder or easier so that you can push yourself as much as you like. I always leave class feeling refreshed and ready to start another week.

I took the balance and strength class here, and I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, the level of difficulty, and the attitude of the other members, and instructor.
I am 23, and exercise daily, so i figured a class like this wouldnt be much of a challenge, especially when i considered that i was the only male in the class, and the only person under 30. I was wrong. Everyone was encouraged to listen to their own body, while still pushing themselves. At the end of the hour long class, I was drenched in sweat, clenching the handrail on the way down the steps, and smiling ear to ear. Highly recommended class for people of all ages and abilities.

Unfortunately, I am writing this review as I cancel my membership at the best gym in Boulder....due to my new home in North Boulder I am just not able to get down to Table Mesa enough, and it really sucks.
There is no better gym in Boulder than the Edge, and that is not up for debate. The friendly/awesome staff, great equipment, and overall inviting atmosphere make it a true joy to be a member. And the pool access!
If you are on the fence about joining this place, please take that leap and sign up. Grace is a great manager and will help you with whatever she can.
Good luck Mts. Edge, I will truly miss you!

I've never been so happy to have a gym membership! Quiet, clean, not crowded, with plenty of equipment. I have never had to wait for the weights or cardio I want to use, which is really nice. Yesterday I went to two classes, Athletic Aerobics and Cycling with Sara. Both classes were great! I really liked the instructor, Sara, her friendly and upbeat attitude kept everyone in the class enthusiastic all the way through. I also appreciated the fact that she explained how the specific exercises we were doing were improving our fitness. I also enjoyed the cycling class because of Sara's personable attitude and enthusiasm. I would recommend both to anybody who wants to get a good work out and still enjoy themselves. I definitely felt like i was pushing myself in the classes, and am feeling good about it today.

I absolutely love this gym and use it 4 times per week. It has a convenient and easily accessible location in the Table Mesa Shopping Center, and it has an incredibly friendly and helpful staff, a variety of high quality equipment, and an overall great atmosphere. Even at peak hours, the gym is never too crowded, and the people who work out there are courteous and friendly. I never have trouble finding someone to give me a spot!
I also appreciate that the gym and locker room are always clean, and both the staff and patrons do a great job of keeping the weight area orderly (i.e., dumbbells, exercise balls, and other equipment are always where they belong and easy to find). They even offer an excellent array of snacks and drinks, so you can refuel during or after your workout.
It's also the rare type of gym where everyone can belong. I see all types of people there, ranging from beginners hoping to get into shape to hard core fitness enthusiasts and everything in between. All these types mix together well, as there are always people smiling, chatting, and generally having a good time. No negative or stuck-up attitudes here! It's also very family friendly.
As someone who has been working out commitedly for over a decade, has very high expectations of gyms, and has been to many gyms throughout the country and knows how they compare to one another, I put this gym at the top of the list of gyms I've used in terms of overall quality. It provides so much value and satisfaction, and yet it doesn't charge you an arm and a leg for membership the way many gyms in Boulder do. I've been very happy at this gym, and I'm confident that others would be, too.
