Love Movement Englewood so much! They have a huge space for both bouldering and top rope/lead, there's always something to work on. The workout area is also fantastic. I've never been unable to do any of my weightlifting or cardio when I'm here, they have a lot of machines which is nice when it is crowded. The staff is the very best, they are some of the coolest people :) I've brought many friends to this gym from complete newbies to V10 crushers and they always have a great time!

This is Denver’s Premier climbing gym (and the best of the movement gyms) It has everything you want in a climbing gym and more.
I personally love the massive bouldering area. With ample routes in different zones (overhang, slab, etc) it’s a great place to perfect your craft and have fun while doing it. I get a certain amount of excitement when new problems are put up. Which they do frequently but not to frequently where you can’t have a project.
I love the focus on community here too. Tommy Caldwell came for a talk here and it was cool to connect fellow climbers during the event and expand outside of my normal climbing bubble.

I came in just before close on a day pass i had from Movement RiNo. I actually thought the bouldering was slightly more accessible at this location and had fun on the routes. As with the other location - I didn't get any walk through or instruction when signing in, but I also didn't ask for one. The only thing I didn't like about this gym is that they didn't have any auto-belays. As a solo traveler, I was looking forward to being able to top rope.

Probably one of the best gyms for lead climbing in the country. The setting is unmatched, both for lead and for bouldering. I recently moved out of Colorado and I know that it will be nearly impossible to find a gym of this quality anywhere else.

I recently visited Movement in Englewood and had a fantastic experience. The gym offers a wide variety of climbing options, including top rope, lead climbing, and bouldering. The routes are challenging and well-maintained, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
In addition to climbing, Movement offers a variety of fitness classes, including yoga and other group fitness classes. The classes are led by experienced instructors who create a welcoming and supportive environment. What's more, there's a gym area with free weights, which is a great addition for those looking to do strength training.
The gym is clean and well-organized, with ample space for climbers to spread out and work on their routes. However, it can get crowded around 6 pm on weekdays, which can lead to some waiting times for popular routes. Additionally, parking can be hard to find during peak hours, so it's best to arrive early or plan accordingly.
Overall, I would highly recommend Movement in Englewood to anyone looking for a top-notch climbing gym. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced climber, you'll find plenty of challenges and opportunities for growth at this gym. The range of services offered, including yoga, fitness classes, and a gym area with free weights, make it a great option for anyone looking to improve their overall fitness and wellness. Just be aware of potential crowds and parking challenges during peak hours.

It's a really fun gym! It can be frustrating when it gets busy knowing that there are multiple people allowed to live in their cars in the parking lot. That actually makes me very uncomfortable I think I'm gonna find somewhere else to go

Climbing area is 5/5!
BUT.. as my primary [expensive] gym membership, the actual gym area is severely neglected. Please Movement, maintain and replace the equipment as it gets old and crusty, refill the sanitizing wipes containers (they are always empty which means equipment is gross), and make the space more efficient. Having limited sets of everything means that it is a struggle to find comfortable space to workout on busy afternoons -- AKA every afternoon. We pay enough money to deserve a clean, stocked, and comfortable space to workout in. I don't want to buy another gym membership -- one for climbing, one for gym -- but the motivation grows daily.

This place is amazing. Great route setting, absolutely huge! Nice staff. Super clean. Only problem is they run our of towels way too often. But that's the only issue I have had (and that's a pretty tiny issue!). Every time I'm there, I can't believe how good it is.
To update this review in 2025, the place is even better than it was before. The route setting has greatly improved over the years. They create really great routes over and over again. I'm always amazed by these people. Also, the towel issue has been remedied!

I just walked into this gym and left after 5 minutes. I haven’t seen locker rooms this dirty in a long time. Yes, I get that it’s snowy outside, but all that dirt is being tracked throughout the entire gym—both in the climbing area and the weight training zone.
The entrance mats are soaking wet and filthy, and there’s slush squelching underfoot.
It’s absolutely disgusting.
I decided to sacrifice my time and drive to Movement Centennial instead, as it’s much cleaner and more well-kept, even though it means spending extra time getting there

Large gym are with free weights and lots of equipment. Lots of cool bouldering features and lots of problems. Expansive ropes area with overhanging lead only walls. Shorter ropes walls for kids and learning climbers in the back. Consistent resetting of routes. Lots of gear and food/drink options available for sale. Don't go if you've never been before. Even if you have an experienced partner, they won't let you on the wall until you pass the test. But they'll still gladly take your $35 and NOT let you climb. Movement Englewood is a great climbing gym. The route walls here are especially tall for indoor climbing at about 60 feet, the bouldering area is huge, and the fitness area is spacious with well maintained and fairly new equipment. Members have access to free yoga classes, and there are also lead training and outdoor prep classes that you can pay for, member or not. I've taken a few paid classes and I've always felt I've learned from them and gotten my money's worth. The route setting here is for the most part engaging and fun. I would say the grades are a bit soft, but for the largest gym in the Denver area that isn't too surprising. Staff is across the board friendly and approachable. The gym is well kept and I feel the rotation for new sets is pretty well spaced to the point where I have time to work on projects but there's also new stuff to play on regularly enough. Now for the not great part. The cost. The membership has increased from 79/mo when I signed up to 102/mo now. Either amount is a fairly significant monthly investment for a gym, but the push into triple digits definitely makes me feel it more on months that I use the gym less. I've also recently started climbing with a friend that doesn't have a membership. My once a month free guest pass is nice, but single day passes are nearly 30 bucks now and punch cards are not much of a bargain. The facilities and people are top notch, but the cost of it all is beginning to border on too much for me.

Modifying my previous 5 star rating to 2 stars to better reflect the new boulder setting, which is extremely 0 dimensional and repetitive. The setters seem to think that the only way to set harder is to make the moves more reachy, make the holds more painful, and the feet worse and more slippable. I really hope the gym can hire some better boulder setters soon.

I don't think I've ever had such a great time at a mega gym. They tend to feel sterile and devoid of culture. But not this gym!

Have not been to this gym in over 6 months yet I was still being billed $102 per month. Finally I cancelled my membership and asked if I could have a refund for the latest payment only 2 days after it was taken. I'm told I will not receive a refund but that they will give me a gift card to the gym for that value. I don't live in this state and I don't plan on going back. That is such a slap in the face to offer a gift card instead of simply refunding it. Horrible business practice.

We came in today visiting from AR and were greeted by Kenan- he was SO welcoming and made the check-in process quick and easy, such kind vibes!
We then met with Bethany who showed us the ropes (pun intended) and she was just the best! So fun, kind, patient, had a fantastic energy and just made us excited to do some top rope!
Overall, such a great experience! The boulders were SO fun and we will be back!
P.s. they both had infectious SMILES!

This is a great area for new climbers who are trying to pick up climbing for the first time. There's a good variety of bouldering which is where you climb without ropes and fall on soft large cushions. Top roping where you use a rope that is fed through a spindle at the top of the wall and when you fall you are caught by the rope. And spot climbing where you clip your rope into every single quick draw as you move up the wall. The holds have a bunch of different colors pink purple red blue orange and so on. If I had to pick my favorite holds I would probably say the big white ones with dual text which is where one side of the hold is abrasive and the other side of the hold is slick kind of like glass these holes are nice because they provide an extra level of intensity where if you miss the good side of the hold you immediately slip off and fall. Another hole that I like is the large pinch that I can barely squeeze onto. I like this hold because you can get multiple angles on it like if it's vertical you can grab it from the side or pinch it and hold it from below. If this pinch is horizontal you can grab it like a crimp which is a small hole that you hang on without pinching or you can grab this hold I can under cling which is just where you hold it on the under side of the hold.

Excellent climbing gym and really helpful workers!
I had a hand injury so I couldn’t climb for a while, so I had to put a hold on my membership. Given the circumstances I asked if they could waive the hold fee. Their system doesn’t allow that, so they worked out something else with me. The details were complex, but the effect is that I got a free hold on my membership! These people are the best, and I’m thankful for their willingness to work with me.

I love the culture of movement gyms. Thete are always various work out classes, training classes, a great workout room and awesome climbing walls. Staff are great and there are always events going on. Even better is all of the movement locations included with a membership. The monthly membership fee is steep but if you go often it is totally worth it. A perk is the various little work spaces at the gym. For those who work remote, it's easy to work right from the gym.

I've been a member for 5 years now and just recently ended my membership. Membership rates keep going up, the crowds get bigger and bigger, and it's always a fight to find parking. The routes are up for a very long time, I worked on one route there for 2 months and when I left it was still up! The vibe here has also gone very commercial, it's more of a place to have a fun date, a visit while youre in town, a birthday party, a new workout, or company team building activity, not so much a climbing training gym. The youth team is a great idea but they take up a ton of room pretty consistently and the coaches generally do not care if they block out a whole area of the gym from members and guests. It just isn't worth it anymore, it's frustrating every time I go, it's crowded, and prices keep going up. That said if you can go not during peak hours it is probably more worth it!

We just started going here a few months ago after having lived in Englewood for a decade. I feel like it can be a bit intimidating for newcomers so if you can find someone who knows the ropes (ha!) that really helps. The barrier to entry can be high especially with the cost of equipment but the investment in your health is worth it, especially here.
However, we took the plunge so our kids had an activity outside of traditional team sports and we could not have asked for a better experience. After 5 months and 2 rounds of after school climbing program, my kids have been absolutely thriving and just secured a spot on the climbing team.
The staff and instructors are amazing. My wife and I took a belay class together which was fun. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging. We spend 2 days per week there at a minimum. We’ve done a few yoga classes which were great. Overall it’s been well worth the investment.

Hate to say it, but it's time to pull the plug on Movement. We went on a climbing trip in November, returning to the gym in January. During that time, the rates were increased, but minimal (and I mean next to zero) new routes were put up. We've been at this gym for years, and like many of the recent reviews by members that have been here a long time, the disappointments are adding up. When you don't change routes, the routes get dirty (yeah, 2 months for a route being up is just too long), and the crowds just keep getting bigger, it's just time. If Movement would refund their rate increase and commit to a schedule of maintaining the routes (like a number of new routes per month) and the facility, we might reconsider. But for now, I would not recommend being a member here.
There is no way the response below is true. We are ending our membership.

Been going to this gym on and off since it opened, if you're looking for a bouldering only experience, I would recommend either The Spot Denver or DBC South.
The parking lot design is very tight and I wish additional thought went into this / spots were repainted.
I wish the actual place to store your things was deeper it's difficult to put your coat, shoes and climbing bag into them.
I wish they had more than one or two brushes laying around to be able to brush the climbs that get so much traction that they require deep brushing every time you try.
I wish they would be stricter on children running around and under climbs perhaps marking physical lines for fall zones children could see.
I like that the climbs have down climb holds however it feels necessary as you wouldn't want to jump down on some child running under you.
I wish they would stop having two grades on a climb, this ultimately leads to harder climbs crux being the first 2-3 moves which sucks.
I wish they'd use better feet, with the amount of traction the gym gets the feet quickly become significantly worse making a V5 feel like a V7.

Overpriced. I liked it better when it was Earth Treks. The new rating system is lazy and inconsistent. The holds are dirty. It’s really crowded, especially during peak hours. Why don’t you all have a student, teacher, or military discount? As a local teacher I will soon be priced out of using these services. The yoga classes are good though. Please do better and focus less on corporate profit. Monopolies are generally too profit driven even within the climbing world. Bring back local gyms!

Pretty average setting for bouldering. lots of workout amenities though which is nice. Don’t bother coming in between 3:30-8pm on any weekday, it’s pretty much a children’s playground; Kids running and screaming everywhere, people climbing on top of each other, the whole shabang. The gym is the stinkiest place I've ever worked out and feels like you are walking into a humidity chamber of human sweat and crowded like no other. Visited the bouldering area while on travel:
Phenomenal variety and organization of routes. I particularly liked the extensive comp-style route area. Cleanliness of holds was average, and the gym didn't feel "packed", despite having visited on a Sunday afternoon. I am sad that this is not my main climbing gym!
Not that I'm complaining, but this Movement location without a doubt has the easiest bouldering grades of the five Movement gyms I've been to. Despite having to climb with rental shoes and no chalk (I forgot my gear), I was flashing routes that would normally be a significant challenge in other Movement gyms.

This gym is fantastic. The routes change often enough that it keeps it interesting but not so often you can't project something. The route setters are great when it comes to variety and keeping climbs interesting. There's a big bouldering area but I go for the variety of top rope and lead routes. The staff is friendly. The only drawbacks are the price, which is steep, but if you go a lot it's worth it. The other drawback is that the place can get crazy busy some days and you end up waiting for walls - especially when some are blocked off for classes.

In my opinion the best climbing gym in Denver. Everything they do is too notch. Their classes are amazing with knowledgeable instructors, their routs are set very well, and their gym is incredible for it being included with the climbing. I never worry about the cleanliness of the facility and am always excited to bring friends. Every first Friday allows for a free guest and you also get 6 guest passes per year with your membership. I am a HUGE fan of this place for any level of climber!

Came here for a lead class. Had to leave within 10 minutes of the class after they refused to show us how to lead using a Gri-Gri. They “Only teach using an ATC”
Yeah good for some outdoor climbing situations and such but there is a reason that every single top-rope setup at all Movement gyms are outfitted with Gri-Gri’s, not ATCs. Gri-Gri’s are twice as safe and easier to use than ATCs.
I voiced my concern to the staff and my not being comfortable spening hundreds of dollars to learn to lead climb using a device that I will never use because I know several people that have died using them as a result of device malfunction, including my best friend.
The staff couldn’t care less, they showed no remorse or sympathy or understanding towards my preference. They were going to ignore my boundaries and force me to do something I’m extremely uncomfortable with. And it would have actually been easier/quicker for them to teach me how to lead using a Gri-Gri, since I already know how to belay using one and I brought my own. I have no experience with an ATC for obvious safety reasons.
The coaches here are not welcoming or inclusive to folks with mental health struggles, considering them being so rude and condescending towards my simple request to learn on a Gri-Gri was a blow to my pre-existing mental health struggles.
Why would you refuse to help someone with something so simple?
Luckily the nice person at the front desk was able to get us a refund for this class
We will be taking our $250 elsewhere (Uber Grippen or The Spot) where they are actually welcoming and teach on Gri-Gri’s. (Most gyms only teach on Gri-Gri’s with the OPTION of using an ATC)
Movement will refuse to teach you on anything except the most dangerous belay device that exists.
The coaches also tried to force everyone in the class to go around and introduce themselves sitting in a circle like we are in pre-school. As someone with mental health struggles and who has social anxiety and speech difficulties I do not want to be forced to do something I’m not comfortable with that puts me at the center of attention. They are NOT welcoming or inclusive of such folks.
As for the rest of the gym- Good routes and large sized area which is the only reason I’ve added an extra star.
But they are also the most expensive climbing gym in the Denver area, and the gym is always packed like sardines- especially after 5:00 PM on weekdays. No parking in the relatively large lot.

Solid 3 star climbing gym!
Positives first:
- climbing wise on ropes, for the beginner and intermediate climber, your setters are right in your sweet spot and will make you happy as things are fun and soft
- in general, all route setting is really really good IMO I like it even if the grading is all over the place, usually soft with easy clipping holds and stances
- super clean gym along with locker rooms being well looked after, except for the batteries on the locks and sediment build up on the shower heads
- workout facility is great!
- ample parking-ish compared to other gyms
- generally friendly staff however not the most personable except for 1 or 2 remembering who you are and engaging in conversation actually about climbing
- tall walls, clips are tightly spaced, but you'll be able to get your mileage in
- relatively low crowds and not overly packed
- IMO the monthly rate is pretty low for what the gym is even if they incrementally raise it without service enhancements
- they are good at making towels available
- the circulation and chalk filtration is good
- the holds are clean!
- they'll change the music upon polite request
- AND they have really long open hours that cater to many people's schedules
Negatives: (these are really nitpicking because of what the gym could be to make it so much better)
- filling out the online website form for feedback on the gym and route setting (per their posted instructions) goes unread or more specifically, never responded to
- climbing wise on ropes, for the advanced and elite climber, you'll find the grades aren't calibrated and are all over the place. You'll also climb out most of the gym and need to start making up your own difficulty through link ups. Overall it’s really soft
- route setters do not review Kaya app feedback nor respond to it
- no physical route setting map nor route schedule on display to know what's new, what's coming down, or what's going up. In general there is no adherence to setting schedule if you find the pdf online, nor is there consistency in change out of areas (some routes stay up for multiple months when others get swapped out every couple weeks)
- lead instruction is not done in their instruction area claiming the walls are too short for proper lead instruction and not safe for big lead falls they teach (yet there are draws up in the area)
- lots of wasted wall space for routes in rope area, the speed wall is rarely/never used and could have routes on it, and the slab-overhang wall has only one featured route for TR, no draws on it and is replaced maybe once a quarter instead of changed out regularly
- quantity of routes could be increased. Some anchors have one line when others have two lines. And it's inconsistent which anchors will get the two lines or one line
- no anchor number indicators mean climbers on lead and TR are often climbing over each other
- after the el cap gym corp purchase, rope climbers are no longer allowed to use the bowline retrace (not the double bowline, but the bowline retrace is now deemed unsafe)
Captions for my photos:
1. The worn draw. Would you whip on this outside? I told them of this in Aug '21, they said it's safe, it's still up as of late Oct '21.
2. The unused/rarely used speed wall
3. Slab overhang route with one featured route changed once only 4-5 months. 4 lead anchors and 3 TR anchors on the panel with only one route one rope for the wall
4. The safety placard with tape over the bowlines allowed statement
Last note. Bring your own water. Water tastes bad. That's the city of Englewood though, not the gym's fault. A nice enhancement would be to add in their own purifying system for us.

I LOVE Movement Englewood. I’ve been climbing there for about two years now and it’s amazing. I go a four to five times per week and that gives me enough time to get all of my projects in before the next set comes up. The route setting is 10/10 amazing. The people here are super nice and you can start a conversation with anyone. Everyone just loves climbing and is willing to talk about it and their experiences. I 100% recommend anyone to give this gym a try.

The facilities are great but overcrowding and not enough parking makes this climbing gym a nightmare. Also, the nice folks at the desk can’t help with membership updates so you have to email the mothership with your changes. I’ve been waiting over a week to get a billing error resolved. Fail.

Been climbing here for over a year and I gotta say at least half the staff are rude and condescending. There’s a few cool people in there. In addition to that, they seem to schedule a bunch of classes and after school programs to happen all at the same time so good luck getting parked or getting a good session in from 4-7 PM. I usually have to wait till at least 8-830 before there’s any chance of getting some elbow room. Makes me wish for even slightly warmer weather so I could just climb outside.

This gym is a fun place to climb with challenging and interesting walls that get refreshed reasonably often for such a huge gym. The bouldering area is massive, but some walls rarely get reset. Haven been a member for 6 months, I've ended my membership because the two Movement locations closest to me, Golden and Englewood, have become too crowded during many, many weekday evenings. More than once, we've driven there to find zero parking spots and multiple cars scouring the lot like hyenas looking for anyone who exits the gym. Also, they've recently raised the membership prices to 98/month while simultaneously limiting the number of guest passes you can use each month and had to turn my friend away because day passes are 27/day. Corporate greed.

This is my home gym of the various Movements in the area, and the one that made me cave to getting a Movement membership. Yes it’s pricey, but compared to the cost of a day pass, it’s very much so worth it if you go multiple times a week. Massive bouldering section and a large schedule of fitness and yoga classes are why I come to this location the most, but the great thing about the membership is you can go to another location whenever if you are feeling bored. I like the level of difficulty of setting here, parking is easy, and staff are always friendly. Locker rooms are massive as well. I come in the morning so it’s never crowded, can’t speak to the peak hours and how that might impact someone’s experience. My one con would be that although the sign up for yoga classes states you must be there 5 minutes early, I’ve had instructors wait until 10 after when class should start, so technically 15 minutes beyond when we should be closing the doors, as people slowly roll in. This is frustrating when you have planned for that specific hour to take the class and be away from work. But other than that, I always enjoy coming here!

Great climbing all around. Bouldering area is large and diverse. Roped walls are varied as well, with difficulty ranges to accommodate all levels. Staff seem friendly and courteous.
Sounds good right, so why only 3 stars? Because the water from the "filtered" drinking fountains is some of the worst I've ever tasted. And I know what you're thinking: I may have elevated standards for water, but this isn't just me--this was corroborated by almost everyone I talked to. "The water tastes like dirt" was a common quote. Considering this is a facility where people come to exercise and participate in sport, you'd think access to clean water would be a priority. Yeah, no.
Please fix soon 🤢

Take your money elsewhere. You’d think for $95 a month you would get something good. You’re wrong. Routes aren’t updated. Better get there really early because it gets packed quick, leaving you waiting to climb a route for a long time. They don’t run the A/C so it’s hot and smells. During winter they can’t even plow the snow making it a huge mess. Not worth the money.

As a gym rat who lives in a truck and drives across the country stopping at every climbing gym, gotta say this is a pretty nice one. It's easily the largest gym I've ever been to, it's twice the size of a typical big gym. I only bouldered, but they set pretty hard and technical. Outstanding route setting. They have a good variety of holds and volumes, several slabs and several caves. The grading feels very accurate. They could stand to set more technical hard slab and dyno problems. The ones they had were nice, however there weren't any decent hands free slab problems. It was very busy when I got there at 5:30, with the after work crowd, but by 8:00 the cool cats came through to project the hard stuff. I settled in for the night in front of a really nice v7 with about half a dozen other people working through the beta. It was a really fun experience, definitely some of the friendliest people of any gym I've ever been to. If fate guides me to Denver, I'd be a member at Movement in a heartbeat. Cheers.

We loved the route setting and variety in wall angles and styles. The facility was clean, the staff was friendly and the gym had more than enough routes for any grade of climbing.
The only thing we didn't like were the top rope anchors, having the rope wrapped around a cylinder for the anchor caused a lot of unnecessary rope drag when belaying.
