Training at Okinawa Dojo has been an incredible experience for our family. Karate here goes far beyond physical skills β€” it’s about resilience, perseverance, discipline, and emotional growth.

We’ve seen both of our children thrive in different ways. Our older child has faced big emotional challenges, and the senseis and dojo community have supported him with patience and encouragement, turning tough moments into opportunities for growth and confidence. Our younger child has discovered how much he loves coming to karate each week β€” building discipline, making friends, and being part of such a wonderful community.

As parents, we feel grateful knowing that Okinawa Dojo is helping our children grow not just as martial artists, but as people. The lessons they’re learning on and off the mat will stay with them for life.

Our daughter started here a year ago. We are not a karate family and knew nothing about it before she started. Our daughter LOVES karate at Okinawa. I am impressed with her progress and all of the skills, larger than karate, she is gaining. This includes self-confidence, discipline, focus, strength and flexibility. This place is a class act. Communication, organization and overall quality of product are top notch. We are very grateful we landed at Okinawa!

Such a great place and 100% recommend. Very solid balance of traditional discipline with leinency for the kiddos. Signed both my 6yo and myself up and have loved it. Just experience our first belt test and the dojo organized it really well. Lots of support left and right from higher belts.

Okinawa Dojo has been such a great dojo for my boys! They are fantastic with kids - motivating them while teaching important values that go way beyond karate. Clearly they know their sport and how to train as they have many students on the USA team and beyond. They have built a very strong community and we have been so grateful to be a part of it the past few years!

Absolutely the best dojo for Karate students. Kids not only learn the art of the martial arts, but, more importantly, gain life skills in respect, discipline and humility. Instructors are offering a level of individual attention I’ve never seen anywhere else. If you’re expecting to jump through different belts in a short period of time, this is not the place for you. If you want your child (or yourself) to actually earn it, check them out!

The Karate Bros dojo maintains the highest of standards.
What sets them apart from other dojos I've seen is the level of discipline in their students.
It is evident with them that karate is a way of life. The actual lessons may start as soon as a student steps on the mat, but they do not end there. As a parent, I often have to sit in the waiting room before and after my son's lessons. As the more experienced students enter (whose ages range from pre-kindergarten to full grown adults) I see a strong level of camaraderie and respect. Between these students, even a greeting is a ritual and it's obvious this extends beyond the front door of the dojo. The lessons taught here seem more like an infusion of ideals directly into a student's core. The students are confident and respectful without effort. While this may or may not be said of all dojos, Okinawa Dojo sets itself apart as its students always seem more disciplined and attentive at all the competitions and tournaments I've been to thus far. They truly do maintain a higher standard.

Some personal experiences to note:
When I first had my younger son try out, he wasn't ready and the experience intense to the point that I had to take him home crying. A couple of weeks later we tried again with much better results. The experience flip-flopped several times but now the visits are routine. The kids who perform well are showered with compliments. The kids who are goofing off are called out. And the inexperienced are patiently welcomed and encouraged.

[Update 09-26-2022]
It's amazing to see the progress made among the younger kids.
Every student I've seen who started from pre-karate and are still in the class have transformed. I'm not exaggerating. Every student who's stuck with the class have changed. They're mature, confident, controlled and respectful.

Since my initial review, they've moved to a new location just off of Hampden and I25 right across the street from McDonalds. I've joined my kids at this dojo. The adult classes range from students who've never taken a martial arts class in their life, to 2nd degree black belts. I'll say this, don't worry about getting hit, sparring is almost all reserved for the competition class which I recommend but not at first. Regular adult classes are a great way to get in shape. These classes focus on the basics, forms, stances and Katas.

For myself, I've joined because it's something I've always wanted to do. Now that I've spent a few years in it, I'm stronger in ways that are difficult to describe. In the beginning, it was murder on the knees. Now my knees are stronger. I can put on a pair of pants and shoes without sitting down or leaning against anything. I can do a lot more pushups and my abs are beginning to look right. I can see my toes. I still can't do the splits, probably never will. I very much look forward to the Kata classes as those basically make me feel like the Karate Kid practicing his moves on the beach or in the boat.

Amazing dojo and sensei's. My son wanted to give Karate a go and so he was in the program for a few months. He thoroughly enjoyed it and the exercise very much, but it just wasn't his jam. I was pleased to see the level of discipline and endurance they teach along with high quality skills.
I highly recommend if you or your child are looking for a dojo. Very well done!! Thank you !

I’m the leader of a church youth group and one of our boys is a student at Okinawa Bros Dojo. Our member wanted to share his love of Karate with the group. Vitale and team came to our church to offer a free class which was awesome. I was impressed by his experience, professionalism and dedication to his students. It’s not common to encounter a program that cares about the total development of their students.

Respect, confidence, strength and health. Those are just some of the benefits for my children belonging to this Dojo.. My son trained at the Senseis first dojo when he was four. I was so happy and excited for him because of what I saw. Sadly a medical issue caused a pause in his karate journey. Thankfully now both my children are part of this amazing Dojo family. The Senseis gave support and strength throughout the pandemic and helped kids (parents too) get through this tough time. Even when training had to be different they were there to motivate and encourage the kids to keep going. I recommend every parent to Okinawa Dojo by Karate Bros. Senseis Vitaly & Alex are truly amazing.

I was on a returning flight from Dallas, when I noticed a bunch of karate kids. At first I was thrilled because you would assume karate means disciplined, however I assure you they are not! The entire flight the kids were running a muck in the back of the plane. One of the children, I believe named "Misha" or the little boy who is about 8-10 was constantly taking his mask off to cough and breathe on other kids he was playing with. This was truly the worst flight I have ever been on due to your children who were all wearing your logo. Another kid refused to wear a mask the entire flight. I hope your kids fight more disciplined than they act when no one is around.

I had a nostalgic moment earlier today remembering all the fun I had while being their student. Who would have thought that at 35 I would start something new in life? After my son got his first medal in competition my competitive side took over. I wanted to compete and prove to myself that it is still possible and life is not over. These three years of training gave so much to me in terms of commitment, endurance building, discipline and friends. I have wonderful memories that I would cherish for the rest of my life!
I miss you guys!

Our 5 year old began pre-karate lessons at Karate Bros in January this year and has absolutely loved it. The classes are very age appropriate and the senseis work the kids to maximize their fullest potential. I especially like the class structure and how they mix up the activities from week to week to keep things interesting for little ones. If you’ve been considering martial arts for your child (or yourself!) this dojo is fantastic. Fair pricing and worth every penny.

This is without a doubt THE PLACE if you are looking for Karate group and/or private lessons. You will be surprised by the quality of the lessons and instructors, the level of professionalism and the passion for teaching from these instructors. In addition, group lessons are 60 minutes instead of 30 minutes. Generally speaking, at other places you will find 30 minutes classes (at least for 3, 4 and 5 year olds) and sincerely, they do not learn and/or acquire any discipline during that length of time.

My son (who is 5 years old) started private lessons two months ago and we are extremely satisfied with the outcome, instructors and place. This institute is priceless.

Thank you Vitaly and Alex!

My kids have been going there since they were very young! They learned discipline and more than anything they always had fun. We had to move away from Denver but we still consider this Dojo our family wherever we go. Definitely recommended! Sensei Vitaly and Sensei Alex gave our kids a great foundation for many things with their teachings! They do National competitions that will keep not only the kids but the family engaged and always bonding. Definitely a place to go and checkout!

Kids not only learn how to block, punch and kick - most importantly they learn how to focus, respect others, be disciplined, never give up and always work hard for their goals and have fun doing it! They keep students motivated and engaged during their trainings.
It definitely feels like one big family - Okinawa Dojo!

I am a student at Okinawa dojo, and train with Sensei Alex and Vitaly. At this dojo there is a loving and caring environment with very nice people. We all support each other in every way possible wether it’s physically or mentally. This dojo can also teach kids from 3 to adults at any age. One thing I really love is the intensity of the trainings, and how much they really can benefit a person. Okinawa dojo is truly one of the best dojos in Denver Colorado. A great karate school for all ages, very family-friendly atmosphere and professional approach to training. I recommend for anyone looking to practice karate competitively or for general fitness and exercise. In my opinion, karate is the best sport to introduce your kids to early in life to teach them discipline, self-control and essential leadership skills; and Okinawa Dojo is just the place to do it in a playful yet professional and result-oriented manner. Check them out if you want to pick up some skills while getting a great workout!!! By the way, they also have great yoga classes.
