Maxie is an incredible trainer. It’s clear from our work together that she combines both acumen and creativity in designing effective and customized approaches for her clients. This was crucial for me, as my particular needs do not respond well to a one-size-fits-all training philosophy.

Also notable is Maxie’s daily encouragement (offered by her and gratefully accepted!) and the thoughtful discussions she has with her team/Jon about client progress and ideas for programming, which made me feel that I was getting the benefit of both trainers during the sessions.

As someone not prone to over-enthusiasm, I can still say quite enthusiastically that I recommend Maxie if you want a knowledgeable trainer whose authentic care for her clients is plainly evident—your well-being and training progress will be in great hands!

Maxie rocks! I've done weight classes for years, but nothing can substitute for personalized training to help me get my best results. Maxie is a great trainer because she is an astute observer of form and person. She meets people where they are, judgement free. Her feedback is specific and motivates me to train hard while guiding me to avoid injury. Also, I love the variety of movement. As a human, Maxie is an extremely positive, funny and kind person. Our sessions together are a highlight of my week. I highly recommend her services.

I am 87 years old and have used trainers for many years. I have finally found the very best one. JP is an excellent trainer. He understands the needs for my body to be in the best shape and safe from the process of aging. He offers challenging exercises to enable me to be the best. I’m 72 years old, and I started with Jon about two months ago in preparation for my complete knee replacement.
He is the best trainer I’ve ever had. He has been able to get me much stronger and I have not heard any part of my body. He knows how to adjust exercises and make even small movements count. After my surgery, I am going to be working with him again. I know I will get stronger and heal faster.
If you can’t afford private sessions, he has many other options.
He also loves my dog, Tiny Tim!

I have the pleasure of being trained by Maxie for the past 4 months. She is a wealth of knowledge and most importantly, patient. I have seen progress really quickly and it's mainly because Maxie makes training feel positive and I appreciate that she has new positive outlooks for when I get hard on myself. I, as I'm sure plenty of others do, suffer from anxiety and negative thinking about myself and it's comforting to have a trainer that is transparent with their own trips and falls and how they get through it. I practice the "it's not about perfection but consistency" almost daily in and out of the gym. Maxie likes to share information like articles, videos or fitness social media accounts that help me see what my movements should look like and what it's doing to the body in the short and long term. I need a little bit of different sources to really understand something and I appreciate Maxie meeting me halfway. I recommend Maxie 100%.

I've been doing personal training with JP for almost 3 months. Gyms and fitness culture in general have always given me anxiety. My experience with JP has been life changing. His encouragement is always gentle and suddenly I find that I love working out. I do it regularly on my own (which has never happened before). He customized routines for me and found ways to get me closer to my fitness goals. I have more energy than ever. Which is wild since the workouts are intense. Do I look like Brad Pitt? Well... maybe if you need new new glasses and are standing across a room, but I do feel more comfortable in my own body and confident in my movements. JP doesn't have an ounce of the gym bro vibrato you often encounter in Boulder. He's just a kind and awesome person that I look forward to working with every week.

I’ve been working with J.P. for several months for a torn hip labrum. At first, it was looking like surgery was likely but now I can do all the exercises and activities I did before with no pain and NO SURGERY!

J.P. is fun to work with; he has a good sense of humor and keeps the fun distracting. (I’m not a big fan of exercise, unlike most in Boulder.)

J.P. explains each exercise clearly and corrects your form either verbally or by demonstrating. Either way is clear and easy to follow.

My hip labrum is better but I am continuing to work out with J.P. for general health and because it’s fun!

Have never worked with a trainer but wanted to get back to exercising and felt I needed a trainer for guidance and to hold me accountable. JP was recommended but I was concerned about working with someone 1,000 miles away. The concerns were unfounded, this has been an incredible experience. The distance between us has been irrelevant.

After our initial consultation when we discussed my background and goals, I started with his CAKE program and after completing that, he began developing an exercise regimen for me to follow. Recently he also began monitoring my diet and offering suggestions. I've found these very interesting and helpful.

Throughout, he texts, calls and emails to monitor how I am doing and to help with problems, questions and concerns. He clearly cares.

JP is an exceptional trainer. I started with JP because I am getting married soon and wanted to tone up. When we discussed my fitness goals and "how I saw myself starting" he was wise enough to listen and then evaluate me. It became clear as we went through body movement exercises and other evaluation areas that where I thought I was physically (in decent shape and ready to jump right into Crossfit type workouts) and where I actually was (sit and be fit) were worlds apart. He didn't miss a beat and tailored a workout that challenged me without making me feel like a total beginner in the gym. He definitely protected my ego and eased my muscles back into workouts. Because of him I am stronger, leaner, and eager to show up and workout.

Not only does JP bring great workouts, he's also a great guy. He is always upbeat, encouraging, counts my reps accurately!, and clearly communicates. I look forward to both the squats and the conversation.

I’ve been working out with JP for more than 6 months and I’m devoted. He listens to what I want to accomplish and implements in a completely personalized way. I’m a little complex and picky with what I like and what I can do. He has taken me from being a completely out of shape, exhausted and hurting mom of 5 year olds and has baby stepped me to wanting and feeling ready for more athletic work outs. I’ve had trainers since having the kids but they would not go at my pace, the I can’t be sore for days pace because I have twins to look after pace. JP has nursed me back to life. I feel so much better, I have tons more energy and can get off the floor with so much much less pain!

I have been training with JP for over 5 years. I've worked with him in a gym setting, in my building's fitness room, in my home (early Covid), and virtually (later Covid). For all that time and in all of those places, JP has been showing up for me twice a week with a professional, well-planned fitness strategy. Some of my hardest work-outs have been done with no weights, just body weight and bands. My work-outs help me with a chronic shoulder issue and keep me fit for all of the hiking and biking that I want to do with my free time. There are not too many people who I want to talk to at 6:30 in the morning, but JP is fun to be around and he makes the time go quickly even when I am doing hard things. My fitness level is the best that it has ever been and I thank JP for that. He is the best!

I began working with JP at Perpetual Movement Fitness in advance of my knee surgery. My surgeon recommended pre-physical therapy to speed up recovery. I quickly realized how special JP was because what started out as a short term trainer has blossomed into over 1.5 years of consistent training. Surgery went well, and PT after surgery went even better. I now see JP 2-3 times a week and we're always working on exercises that are devoted to improving the passions I have (currently golf). He understands physical movement very well, and which exercises/frequency to address the desired outcomes. He's also hilarious, which doesn't hurt.
