A friend referred me to this gym after I expressed what my goals were. I met with Matt, and he sent me up with Coach Clay for my on-ramp portion. Coach Clay is phenomenal! He is so knowledgeable not only in regards to performing the workouts correctly but also about the synergy that the different elements within the body have with each other. Literally life-changing!
I had my first class today after the onboarding process and it was wonderful! Coach Amanda was great! She had a great attitude even though technology was not her friend this morning. She explained the movements clearly and walked around ensuring our form was correct. The workout that was compiled made sense and modifications were offered as well. I enjoyed her cheering us on by name, especially when we were getting fatigued! Great class Amanda!
In summary, if you are looking for an atypical CrossFit gym that focuses on form, function, mobility, and fitness, give Pick It Up a try; you won't be disappointed!!

CrossFit Pick It Up is an amazing place to workout. Everyone there is positive and encouraging. The trainers truly care about the progress you make. When you can't do the prescribed workout, they modify the workout to something you can do. I have been a member at PickItUp for over 2 years and have a lot of love and respect for this gym. The owners have created a community where people of all levels of fitness are welcome. The coaches are very knowledgeable and friendly and will help you reach your fitness goals. At the age of 44 I am the strongest Iβve ever been because of this place. I put off joining this gym for 3 years because I was intimidated by the thought of doing CrossFit again (that was dumb, this place is awesome).
At PickItUp the classes are small and youβll quickly get to know the members there and will have friends in every class.

0 stars, I worked too hard and sweat too much! The coaches at this gym pushed me way beyond my limits, making sure I gave it my all during every single workout. It's so annoying how they keep checking in on my form to prevent injuries and ensure I'm making progress. And don't get me started on the sense of community β everyone is way too supportive and encouraging, which just makes it impossible to slack off. If youβre looking for a place where you can coast through a workout, this definitely isnβt it!

I had a couple of great drop in experiences at Pick It Up Fitness this past week. The workouts were well planned by two obviously experienced coaches. I was greeted by each coach and even the owner of Pick It Up Fitness. The other members were welcoming. The coaches checked to see if I understood the workout, had any injuries or any additionally needed scaling options. I will definitely return to Pick It Up for future workouts.

Attending Pick It Up Fitness has significantly changed my life both physically and mentally. It has also helped me gain an even better understanding of what it's like to truly be in shape and stay in shape.
I will admit, CrossFit intimidated me at first especially after watching a documentary on it and hearing about some of the strength training involved, but I am here to tell you that just about anyone can do it! No matter your fitness level/experience, or goals, the classes are designed for you to challenge yourself but they are also there as more of a guideline to work your way up to the prescribed workout; with the option to scale it as you continue to build on your stamina and overall muscle.
I always feel so welcomed at each and every class, and it makes me really feel like part of the PIU family. The coaches are all so motivating and even take the time to observe each person during the class and provide advice to make sure we're lifting properly.
I am thankful for the decision I made to join PIU and to take that step into something I was so uncertain about. It has allowed me to be in the best shape of my life and truly enjoy weightlifting now! For anyone reading this who is hesitant about CrossFit, I am living proof that you CAN and WILL enjoy it, especially when you choose to become part of the PIU community.

Absolutely love this place. I've been around the country in the military and have tried multiple gyms but this one is the best by far. The owners and the trainers are incredibly knowledgeable, personable and nice. They've helped with a poor shoulder of mine and are always looking out in case of injury. They will always have adjusted exercises in case you don't feel confident enough (handstand push-ups are scary...!) and even have workout activities throughout the year (Halloween, ROW-vember, etc).
It's all in good fun and the other members are awesome as well. 5 star place for sure.

This is a great place focused on safely executed functional fitness. Iβve been training here since Fall of 2021 but Iβve been doing functional fitness, olympic lifting, and crossfit in various forms for the last 11 years. The coaches are nice and knowledgable. This is a great place for folks of all levels, from first-day-ever training to advanced lifter, the programming is wide and varied and well thought out. CrossFit Pick It Up is more than just a gym - itβs a small, tight-knit community where youβll get to know the owners, trainers, and your fellow classmates. Choose the class you want for the day and then show up for a one-hour workout that is designed to expand your capacity for fitness in many respects including strength, cardio, and endurance. While I personally wouldnβt say Iβm great in all of these regards, I have noticeably progressed in them all since joining the gym in December. Not only is this because the workouts are designed to be challenging (donβt be intimidated though, there are all kinds of variations based on your skill-level) but also because there is accountability at a gym where your coaches and peers know you by name and ask where youβve been if you miss a few days. The time, attention, and encouragement you'll get at Pick It Up is unparalleled!
Come join this community, put in more effort than you would in a home workout or a Globo-Gym, and youβll see huge changes in yourself like I have seen in myself in just a few short months!

This gym is so awesome! So me: I'm a computer nerd guy. I had no idea what a barbell was, or how to do a push-up or anything. I did an onboarding with one of the coaches, Wes. He was extremely patient with me, but over time, he turned me into someone who was able to exercise without hurting myself all the time, and without making a fool of myself! Now I can go to classes and have the confidence to keep up.
This format really works for me. Class is one hour - you pick the time, but what you do is all programmed and ready to go. You'll get an excellent workout. CrossFit is not as scary as it sounds, and this is definitely a very supportive and fun environment for people of low (like me) and high skill levels. The culture of CrossFit Pick It Up is what makes it special to me - I drive by other CrossFit gyms to go here because of that culture specifically.

Earlier this year, I moved to Colorado Springs from out of state and was looking to meet new people and become more active! I had never tried CrossFit before, but I decided I wanted to give it a shot. I was very hesitant at first as it had been a while since I had stepped foot in a gym, but because of the great coaches and relationships I have developed over the last couple of months, I have stuck around while improving my overall health!

Joining a new gym can be a very intimidating experience, especially if you are an introvert, like myself. From the moment I walked into Pick It Up Fitness, just over a year ago, I felt very comfortable with the owners, coaches, and fellow athletes. The coaches are all extremely knowledgeable in exercise science and all the different lifts. The coaches focus on correct form and injury prevention. If I struggle with a lift, they offer multiple different modifications or coach me through each part of the movement. I never feel pressured to lift more than I am comfortable lifting. I have left other gyms because this. I have also learned many new stretching techniques that have greatly improved my mobility. I am so thankful I found Pick It Up. Attending class is one of the highlights of my day.

What I liked to most about the place is how easy it was to get an understanding of the different movements and forms in a short period of time. Also, I appreciate the fact that batch size is limited to 12 which ensures better attention to the group and has helped me correct many flaws in my movements. Matt and his incredible coaching team is always there to improve your form, help you scale and accomplish lifting goals, and push you to your full potential. The youtube videos they post, the apps they have to offer to track your progression and give you personal tutorials, and Mattβs podcast really helped enrich the experience and helps you discipline so that you can achieve your full potential. Another great addition is the energy each coach brings that makes you WANT to come at 6am to have a powerful workout. If I was not moving out of state, I would have stayed going here for the long term. I walked into this CrossFit gym at 48...embarrassingly enough I was already becoming off balance and incredibly weak. The fact is I was completely out of shape and ready to give up. The first meeting was with a trainer who I later found out was the owner...he was kind and understanding and willing to work with me. We have been together for a year now and the strength and confidence I have gained is amazing. No one should be Leary of giving PIU a shot! We have been a member of Pick It Up Fitness for just over a year and we have really enjoyed our time there. The sense of community and the βfamily welcomeβ feel is what hooked us in to give it a try and this sense of community has been in effect the whole time. The coaches and the athletes there are just a bunch of good people β fun, we push each other in a healthy way, and just all around friendly. (I asked a favor on the member page and within 5 minutes I had three offers of help from members). They also do a lot of things that build the culture - internal competitions, health challenges, movement clinics, sports teams, parties, interest gatherings (like a book club), and the list goes on. I feel like the owners are constantly working to get to know us better and care about what interests us.
I also like that the gym is pretty balanced with male and female members. My perception has been that gyms that have barbells can be pretty heavy on the male side. I love that the gym is pretty balanced and that as I move along my own progression, I can see many women there that are strong and have moved along their own progression to get there β itβs so empowering.
I have seen many gains and met many personal fitness goals going to Pick It Up Fitness.

Whether it's a 6am class or 9am or 530p, I've never had an excuse not to make it in. Open 7 days a week and multiple classes each day during the week it's awesome to have a place like this in Briargate! I've seen a great improvement in my hockey game over the months coming here. My stamina has improved on the rink and also overall strength when it comes to 1 on 1 battles throughout the rink. I'd highly recommend if want to improve your fitness for whatever reason to try PIU!

6 months ago I joined a 12-week challenge for people over 50 and was introduced to CrossFit PIU. Having never done CrossFit, I was concerned about being able to keep up and not hurt myself. I do their classes 3 days a week and my wife has private classes 2 days a week. We couldn't be happier. I've been with them 4 months or so, and I've lost a lot of weight and gained a lot of strength. I have worked with 3 other personal trainers over the course of almost 5 years, and I am happy to have ended up as a regular here. The owner Matt has a natural gift for personal training; he has that key combination of friendly energy that makes him enjoyable to work out with, but is also serious about fitness and pushing you to your goals, and he doesn't let you slack off. After 4 months I have yet to miss a workout since I look forward to it so much each time, and I've been pleasantly surprised at the rate of my progress.
The facilities are big enough to accommodate classes and personal training at the same time without it ever feeling cramped, and the location is in a place where you can work out both indoors and outdoors. I haven't taken the actual group classes, but they look fun, and everyone seems committed to getting it done with a smile.

I started going to PIU fitness at the invitation of friends who had been doing a once-a-week personal workout session. I had never tried crossfit prior to that time and wasn't sure what I was getting into. After getting my butt kicked once a week for a while, I decided to go all in and get a membership to the gym. The reason that I decided to get a membership is the workouts were great and they helped me feel better both physically and mentally; and I wanted more of that. And in addition to feeling better and healthier, the atmosphere, people, trainers, and owners of PIU fitness are fantastic.
I was hesitant about crossfit based a lot on the perception of crossfit being basically competing at working out. This had me thinking of a competitive and unfriendly environment that would come across as daunting for someone just starting out. However, that couldn't be farther from the truth. Everyone is extremely supportive and encouraging with the overall goal of simply making sure you get in a good workout and that you do that workout with proper form and technique.
I am very happy that I started going to PIU and I am very happy that I decided to become a member of the gym. I would definitely recommend PIU to anyone wanting to get into better shape and to live a healthier life.

Locally owned by a terrific young family, the wife/husband combo do a great job in creating and coordinating unique workout programming and it's awesome!
